Poor piggy has been imprisoned for a long time. Petition signed to send to the King

Up this way with KGD and EyespyBen,we decided to go over the bridge todayNice wee walk around when we got the right place it was a nice quick findThanks G-2
Up and over the bridge with ABCDF4 and eyespyben. After the initial search was unsuccessful we widened the search and quickly found it. Thank you for the placement.
Took a while, definitely had to read the story to work out location, then the hint lead us directly to it. If you want a harder search refrain from hint. Cool spot thanks for the cache!
Another quick find at GZ along this walkway on a lovely sunny winter day with Lis's Crew. TFGC and bringing us here.
The plan this weekend was to head to Auckland Friday evening with Yvettetb. Saturday we had a lovely day caching around the Northcoate area with great Harbour Bridge views from all over the place. Sunday we went geocaching in the Riverhead/Kumeū area before heading north again.
I accepted my mission to act on behalf of the GC community and found the Bison. I signed his petition to the Queen and although today he'd been released temporarily from his tether I hope he doesn't escape all together. We hooked him back on and hope that regular visitors are enough company for a herd animal.
Thanks for restraining this bison

Out tonight for some geocaching exercise and stress relief after spending the day with the in-laws.
Rain has stopped for now and I quickly had found cach.
Thanks G-2.

Taking a stroll through Le Roys bush and attempting to find caches along the way. Checked out both sides before we spied this one. Knew it had to be in there somewhere. TFTC
Here on a Girl guiding camp. Took some looking, but great find nonetheless.
My amazing son failed but supar amazing mum found it. Nice quick find here. TFTC
Saw a potential hiding place and left GeohoundandI looking for a cache whilst I went around the corner and found it.
I have a part time job in a gold mine. It reminded me of that. Lots of mysterious boarded up tunnels..... Ignored the gps and followed the hint. Tftc
Despite a thorough search, we were unable to find this one We're doing a few more along the track so might have another look on the way back. Lovely track!
Well Piggy must be a pro now, after all of that practice. Plenty of fairy house doors around this area, some stood up, some fallen over and some thrown in the stream.
A new day, and a new set of targets and goals to try and meet. Have been to some parts of the trail(s) in the past but not caching. Back today to make the finds and sign the logs. A few out Onepoto way, as well as some along the trails out towards Birkenhead and finished at the Sugar factory. Thanks to all COs for their hides and the fun.
I was out caching for the first 3 days of this week, racking up over 12kms walked on each of the three days, and getting healthy double-figure hauls in the process too. In line with the NZ Geocache Reviewers guidance on what Covid Level 3, Part 1 looks like, geocaching is permitted but not events or any new listings. It seems the NZ Covid website has failed to maintain pace with Lockdown level amendments and changes and is still lumping Geocaching in with Orienteering and other gathering type activities. Our first find in a while!! Found by the GeoKid once we located the right spot. TFTC
4th or 5th time here but all the previous visits have been me looking for a cache that's not there . Thanks for the replacement and a very lovely spot for a cache! TFTC
As I was retrieving this one a family of 4 came by and asked me if I was geocaching. They hadn’t done it yet but were thinking about trying with their kids. Great idea I thought. TFTC
A couple days ago I saw G_2's note on Facebook which made me realise-- there are so many of his caches out there, many I have yet to find, and I'd love to try and find as many as I can just in case the CO decides to archive them. Not expecting to get them all since there are hundreds and some are too devious for me... but there's nothing lost by trying
Had this morning free so went for a very nice walk around Birkenhead and into Le Roys Bush. As per the detailed hint I had my hand on this one straight away. Log and container are in excellent condition. TFTC!

Took a shortcut through this nice patch of bush from the bus route to a work function. Still weird for this Wellingtonian to experience kauri dieback in person, manifested as shoe washing stations (was wary of how low the foot ‘step’ was going to sink!) Access all good. No luck with search though, and couldn’t spend too long as function was calling. Hid away for 5 after the speeches and called on a local PAF. Found the cache quickly on return leg — first search had somehow missed it. Thanks G-2!
Was it this one or that one? Oh it was that one. Loved its tricky simplicity. Tftc
found after a short while . had to watch out for the PD workers working on the track.
Circumstances today, gave me a little bit more time to find a daily cache, so took a walk instead and found a few. Been quite a few years since I ventured along the track. Still a pretty place to walk. This sneaky wee hide, took simply ages to find. I'm glad I stuck it out and find the pesky thing eventually. SL. TFTC.
Oh yes... found it On a road trip north, enjoying the day and pic up some caches. TFTC

I searched both prisons from below, above and through. I repeated 6 times over half an hour. No bison for me.
Wandering from Little Shoal Bay to try and find a late afternoon coffee. Successful on the cache front, and had to settle for an ice cream.
Thanks to all CO's cheers

I am making a small effort to try to fill my calendar poke dots with finds and today was one I needed to fill. As I was in the area I headed down to GZ to get a nice walk through the reserve and of course grab the cache.
Upon heading toward GZ the story quickly made sense and soon had the cache in hand. Such a pretty walk. Thanks for the cache and bringing me down into this reserve. #841

Started out at 3.30 in the morning (all good plans start when it's dark!) The drive north was fantastic, virtually no traffic all the way through Auckland to the North Shore and in the company of Cats & Dragon's. We found our first cache at 4.30am and cached hard out untill lunch time. The weather held out for us, with the occasional lite drizzle. A fantastic day, over 60 finds a few DNF and a big hole put in the area.
Thanks to all the CO's who placed their cache for us to find and thanks for the great day!

Today was a chance to head out in the company of McCutchen Cache Clan for a little bit of a hit out around Takapuna and Northcote/Highbury areas. So trying to make the most of the day (and in that what I really mean is to avoid both people and traffic as much as possible. We headed up early and were actually caching just before 5am and were all over by noon so that we could get home to our families.
All Logs signed as "MCD" to conserve logbook space
Having set myself a couple of personal caching goal for the year (or at least whats left of it) I thought I had better crack into it and start collecting so that hopefully the last 6 months of the years is far more productive than the first 6 months.
All in all a great morning was had and we managed to stay dry. Not too many DNF's, a couple of unattempted's as not able to get to them and plenty of founds. A few of the gully's that we traversed were very muddy and so was suitably grateful for the decision to bring the tramping boots to keep the feet dry.
Great collection of caches and some very clever camouflage by the usual suspects. So all in all 65 successful finds today with what the time allowed. I apologize for the rather generic logs but it was a bit of a rushed trip so things started to blur into each other.
Managed to crack this nut on the first run through so was well pleased with myself. The track and boardwalks are pretty wet, slippery and very muddy along here today after all the rain.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contributions, thanks for the cache.

Off to Le Roy's Bush Reserve to find my last Hidden Creature, in between showers. Met my only muggles on the whole walk at this corner. Stood aside to let them past, and then inspected the cells. Quick look at the obvious one, and then my GPS sent me around the corner for a more thorough search. Hmm, back to the first one, et voila, found the petition to sign. TFTC.
Another happy find as Mr P and I were trotting along enjoying the walk, the broadwalks and the mesh on the wood. T4tc
After a DNF in December we were keen to turn this one into a smiley. Our last attempt was thwarted by a swarm of some sort of hornets but thankfully today they were nowhere in sight and we soon located the cache.
Another great Piggy hide, he should definitely go Pro. TFTC.

Well is always double pleasure for me to find a cache after previous DNFs. To be honest found where expected to find. All is well at GZ. TFTC
Not so much a DNF as a CNL (Could Not Look). After determining where the likely hiding spot would be the search began but was quickly interrupted by a swarm of very angry insects which were difficult to identify but at appeared to be miniature hornets.
But whatever they were there were a lot of them and they we far from impressed at our attempts to infiltrate their home so, not knowing what they were capable of if provoked, we felt it best to leave this one for another time.

Out and about for a couple of hours of cache detection, now that the worst of the rain seems to have passed. I parked up on Valley Road and entered the network of trails. Soon found myself at GZ. I had read the cache page so was pretty sure of the what, where and how of this hide. Must have looked right at on the first pass, but managed to miss it. After ten minutes of fluffing around eventually found it where I looked to start with. Cheers for the cache placement!
Getting to know Le Roy's bush well over the last few months. No running today though. Raining steadily and the path down into the valley was more like a waterfall. Cache quickly found. Went to sign piggies petition only to find I had left the writing stick behind. Have taken a photo of the log to prove we have been here. TFTC
We met up early this morning with yorkshirekiwi83 to grab a few of the caches in the area. Mainly, we were tackling the few in Le Roys Reserve, so stragetically parked one car at each end. Soon figured out where this cache would be, but we had to wait for some passersby to move on, who told us about how their children used to call this Pooh corner, but the parents called it Pukeko corner. Luckily they soon moved on to the next corner to admire those swamp hens who seem to have moved on. Eventually had the cache in hand. Thanks for the hide.
Vamber and I decided to do a spot of caching this morning and as North Shore was full of options for both of us decided on this reserve. Parked a car at eitehr end and set off in what was mainly the downhill direction. Met some muggles whose children used to call this Pooh's corner, the adults call it Pukeko corner, however the Pukekop have moved around the croner which meant we were able to find the cache. TFTC
After reading the description, I thought I knew where to look. There is at least one part which is misleading, but I got there in the end. TFTC.
Initially thought this was going to be tricky but all was soon revealed, another great cache, ty
This looked like it was going to be hard but after feeling around a bit.....got it ! TFTC
Quite a first search without finding it, then on the way back had another go and found it within seconds

It dawned a gorgeous days so with time on my hands I decided to go for a walk in a bush that I had visted several times quite a number of years ago due mainly to a magnificient puzzle cache that was spread out throughout the reserve.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Paid another visit to the prison on my way home today, and finally found the captive.
I had the right idea previously, but won't claim I searched exactly that location...

Team effort paid off after a while... commitment from the kids climbing into the cave. Reading past logs gave the hint we needed. TFTC
After the rain the weather forecast for the weekend looked very promising. Evilno9, TheMexican and I decided for a late start to get some more sleep in . We placed one car strategically at the end of the path and went off to park at the other end. Wow we searched both prisons for quite some time. Evilno9 gave it another search and came up with the goods. TFTC
oh boy, could have sworn I checked there yesterday, but back again today. After another look around today I decided to txt a previous finder, while I headed up the track to have another crack at Tribute to the Reviewers. Once I had that one finally sorted, I carried on around to Oh Roy, Oh Roy, Is That Your Horse? which I had skipped yesterday in fading light. Two from two, now back down the trail to this dodgy character. This time armed with a hint and third time here, I quickly felt the devious hide.
So pleased to tick this one off, and another enjoyable wander around the lovely reserve this afternoon, cheers Glyn

Thought this was going to be straightforward enough as it all made sense when we got to GZ, but sometimes even when you know what you're looking for you can still be blind as a bat... Perserverance paid off in the end though and we eventually got our names on the log. TFTC
While I looked in the nearby HM prison, Teamwelsh made the find, not going to pay TW for her find as she waited until I scaled the wrong bank before calling out "found it" a bit quicker next time please.?
Was so satisfying to get a smiley here with my team mates !
I had looked in vain earlier this week to no avail ...in both prisons...
But today Mrs TeamWelsh had her hand on it in seconds!

We had figured out sort of where the cache was going to be hidden but Helen said she had a bit of trouble here on her first look so while Lynette scaled the bank I kept closer to the path and the cache was quickly located. Sorry Lynette that I wasn't quicker but I had to put my GPS down to have a better look. Great day, great caches and great company. TFTC
Hmm Don't know weather to DNF this or not, missed on first pass but found on way back.
I am sure we looked there before and again I must have had the hands so close but so far, thankfully the lovely wifey found it!
Missed on the way there-met Handyandy man-got a clue-I'm sure we looked there before!!!I thought I had figured out the clues but maybe not-tftc
Met up with Geocchi, Pazza, Merlot58, Aidan29 & Bertie Blowfish plus 4 dogs for a walk in Le Roy's bush. We signed in as "Sting Op" - thanks to Merlot's recent wasp stings. This took us a while to spot as we were all looking too high. Were reassessing the situation, when Bertie found the sneaky prisoner.
I took the higher (tho not moral) ground hoping for a release on this ransom. However Bertie fared better than I at a level more suited to her standards. I think piggy should be paid for all his hard work, so here I am now, paying piggy a compliment on all his good work done in this reserve. A reserve well worthy of some 'G-2 treatment'.
Out for the day with a large group of cachers to get the new caches in this lovely reserve. We have signed as Sting Op as a salute to my recent misfortune with angry wasps. This took us a wee while to locate, but eventually Bertie found the prisoner
Met up with a few Westies (merlot58, Jag50, Bertie Blowfish, Pazzabella and Geocchi, as well as a muggle and four geodogs). Log was signed as Sting-Op due to Merlot's affinity for wasp stings recently .
We spent awhile searching here, investigating many options. In the end Bertie finally located the prisoner.

We read and re-read Piggy's story. Pondered on various possibilities. Searched high and low, and high again! ... and were almost at our wit's end... When bingo! Found it! Right in front of us all along!
Very happy to added our team signature "Sting Op" to the petition to HRH
As far as I'm concerned though, the jury's still out as to whether the story of Piggy’s incarceration was in fact more obfuscating than elucidating...in the search for said cache! Thanks for another very cool cache G-2!

This one took us quite a while to find even though we were pretty much certain where and what we were looking for. Just goes to show how even a cache you know where is can elude you. I guess maybe the third or fourth pass was the one that finally good for us to come up with the cache - which in the end was pretty much exactly what we expected. While we were looking we found half a munzee, not that we've ever played but we did know what it was. Thanks for placing this cache. Nice little trail through here.
Poor ol' piggy... he's having a time of it at the moment, can't get a good break, wage or salary, not helping matters the {FTF} pirates came along and momentarily stole his imprisoned fiend so we could do what pirates do. (I mean that in a nice way btw) I mean sign what the bison was hiding. It was FMZ who found this while I shone the torch upon matters. Whoo hoo, another find for the pirates this morning (yes midnight just ticked over).

I think it's poor show to hold bisons against their will in cages. I feel like I should call the SPCA. Still, we found it, and all we did was open it up, sign it, and put it back. So I guess we are just part of the problem and not the solution. [FTF] #2060 TFTC!!! FP+
