Nicely tucked away cache, took a moment to spot it. Great to take this detour to see a bit of the area.Last night we drove till we needed to stop, just 2 hours south of Cooper Pedy to a road side rest stop. An amusing morning with fellow campers Bob, and his fun talkative cockatoo Laury. What characters! Character, quirky and amusing was the theme of the day, all in a good way of course. Arriving in Cooper Pedy, it was the best kind of crazy and such a great place. Van parked it was of to explore town, inside and out, dugouts, mines and the sites, caches, adventure labes, even a FTF. Super blue sunny skies, temperates delightfully warm in the 30's. Fueled up we headed north, via Marla to Mintabie for my last SA county cache. SA completed! Back into Marla for dinner, it was a discussion of what next. Back to cooby?... let's do earthcaches and go out on the Oodnadatta Track to stay in Oodnadatta overnight on our way back to coober Pedy!
On the way back from Manguri, that was the last cache of the day, a good day for having met you Thank you again for your kindness and all the caches.Greetings - pilot03 #4538
Found by The Empire + HOur journey into Coober Pedy began with a drive through the stark and unforgiving terrain of the outback. The red earth seemed to stretch endlessly, occasionally broken by clusters of spiky desert vegetation. As we approached the town, the first thing that caught our eye was the peculiar mounds of earth that dotted the landscape. These are also known as "rangeland" or "mullock" mines. In these operations, the miners excavate the surface layer of the earth to reach the opal-bearing layer. You'll see large, open pits that have been dug into the ground. The exposed layers of earth and rock are often colourful and can contain opal.As the tires of our vehicle met the unpaved tracks, the terrain became progressively rougher. The fine red dust that billowed around us soon covered every surface, creating a layer of the outback's signature hue on the car's exterior. It was a visual reminder that we were far from the well-manicured roads of the city. The tracks meandered through the lunar-like landscape, revealing an ever-changing array of geological wonders. We passed rocky outcrops and strange formations, some of which seemed like sculptures created by nature's hand. The colors of the earth shifted from deep reds to muted browns, with occasional hints of green where hardy desert plants managed to thrive. The isolation of the outback was tangible. The silence was broken only by the hum of our vehicle's engine and the occasional breeze that swept across the open plains. It was a stark contrast to the constant noise and bustle of urban life, and it brought a profound sense of serenity. Thanks for the cache The Noodler.- M
Darwin to Adelaide Road Trip
Day Seven: Coober Pedy to Port Augusta.
Weather: still sensational!
The first of three caches along the Anne Beadell Highway. There is signage at the Stuart Hwy turn off that made me wonder if we were permitted up this road, but in retrospect I think that’s just access to land on either side of the road. I’d hate to get shot for wandering onto somebody’s claim! Recent finders didn’t seem to have any issue, and so in I went.
A quick find here with almost zero alternative hide spots.
Thanks for the cache Noodler.
It’s officially a mega - GCA1DNA “The Great Leap Forward”

Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to NT and down through the Centre to SA then home across the Nullabor. Coober Pedy is certainly a very unique place. Thanks The Noodler
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches along our route. This is our first day in Coober Pedy, taking in the sights and enjoying the environment. The Noodler for this quick cache.
Quick find while working in town.

Having met the CO earlier today, it was great to be able to find a couple more of their caches. This was a nice quick find and we were on our way again. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
After leaving Maralinga with Geotutrle37 and Papi4506 and heading north to Marla to log another LGA we are heading south slowly making our way home.
We had caught up with the CO just down the track so we were not going to drive past one of their caches.
Happily this one was a nice quick find and our names had been added to the log book and all returned as it was.
Many thanks The Noodler for the hide

After a momentous trip from Maralinga toward Coober Pedy along the Anne Beadell Highway with Geoturtle37, Papi4506 and Team Crackers, we are almost at the end of this part of the journey. A few last caches to log before finding a place to stay.
Thanks to The Noodler for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.

I came, I looked but alas I couldn’t find this cache. Instead I enjoyed the landscape of piles of discarded dirt

On our travels we stopped to grab a couple of caches, even though it was cold and wet we still managed to achieve our goal thanks for placing this cache
I found this one with Poisin55 out visiting places in Coober Pedy and of course finding caches! TFTC
The three of us spent a couple of days in Coober Pedy, and had a fantastic time exploring underground and mining attractions.
Mr Tardis found this one in the first place he looked - don't you just love it when that happens?
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache The Noodler.

Found with The X-Trailers. Brrr colder here than last visit to Coober Pedy. TFTC
We decided to load up the camper and run away from home for a week or two. The rain and a domestic water repair made us change our plans a few times but it didn't detract from the fun. We met quite a few people and learnt a lot from them - we were privileged to be shown a dugout at Coober Pedy and station life at Edeowie. We also found time to find a few caches, but we still have many unfound in the areas visited. Looking forward to returning to the upper north of South Australia one day soon.
Thank you to all those who helped make our trip very enjoyable.

Found at 8:52. I had been working in the area this week, and fortuitously had an unscheduled free day. A muggle colleague Chris joined me for the morning find all but one of the local caches
Who knows where this phone line goes. I found this little gold chap very quickly as there are very few hiding spots out here.
It was an adventure getting here with only about 289 zillion corrugations to 'enjoy' along the way to Emu and back to Coober Pedy. However it was all manageable. Along the way we saw sheep, cattle, kangaroos, budgies, galahs, 2 dingos and a bustard. The cache itself was not a hard find and the log was signed with both names. Thank you to The Noodler for placing this cache.
There was no problem in finding this cache with goingplaces2. This was at the start of a long and fairly rough drive to Emu. Saw various animals and birds along the way as well as lots of camel tracks along the road. Only saw 2 other people while we were out there.
Enjoyed the cache and the log was signed. TFTC.

Stayed at Coober Pedy on our way back from Kings Canyon and drove out for a couple of cache finds TFTC
After following the coast along Our lap year (so not going to be a year, more like 3!) has taken us inland now.
The Flinders Ranges the first major stop, somewhere we had previously visited but not explored fully. Gosh I love the colours of the Landscape, beautiful contrasting colours and textures- Rocks and my favourite tree Eucalyptus camaldulensis all just looking beautiful
Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, Oodnadatta, Alice Springs and Uluru all major stops on the way as we head further north. EarthCaches, Virtuals, Letterboxes and Old caches taking priority. Other caches along the way too of course. (Just enough so my family don’t get sick of caches) In an attempt to not get confuddled or fall behind I’m using a generic log (sorry) Thanks for being one of the caches we found along the way. TFTC

Off for a northern tour with Purrfect Di and Jack...
today we ended up at your caches ! ! !
Yup... this line looks like it's going nowhere. Old PMG covers too!
Not magnetic now, but nicely hooked in place.
Thanks The Noodler for yet another cool yellow smiley on our outback SA geomap

Three weeks on the road for a family holiday to Alice Springs, Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon amongst other cool destinations had us traveling all over the place. We had a great time and the weather was extremely hot with bushfires that actually prevented us from going to some destinations.
We stayed in Coober Pedy for the night before continuing on our journey back home. I got up early this morning and Coop, Ty and I headed out to explore a bit more of this amazing town and to find some more of the caches that were around. This was one of them.
Thanks for the cache.

Nice easy find in the early evening, as we stopped off on the way further north.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the town and environment of Coober Pedy.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'The Noodler' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Phone line to nowhere?' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

In the mornig after the event, we drove back and stopped by this Geocache. Thanks and Greetings.
Found in the company of Freddo, e.gregory1, Team Waldron, occasional cacher out of retirement SteadyOn and muggle friend Tony during an awesome trip to the Simpson Desert, staying at Coober Pedy, then camping out at Dalhousie Springs, three nights in the Simpson Desert, Birdsville, Clayton Bore and Aroona Valley. Thanks for the cache The Noodler!
Cache was found as part of a Simpson Desert trek by Team Waldron, Freddo, Featherwaite, E_Gregory1 and a couple of muggles.
After Coober Pedy it was off to Dalhousie Springs then across the desert to Birdsvaille south to Clayton Springs and then one last night in the Flinders.
A great trip and we even had time for a few caches.

Good to be on the Anne Beadell again - even though it's only a little way off the bitumen. I guess you could tap these in an emergency.
Found with H423L on an epic trip up to find Pluto (GCG32B) - the furthest known planet at the time of TeamAstro's solar system inception. There was dust, flies, more dust, no mud and a million stars at night. There were no tyre issues. The geocaching led us to spectacular spots that were out of the way - and a few spots that were popular as it was the school holidays. We cached a few caches with others and it was good to see our friends on the trail.
Thanks to The Noodler and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

We have been travelling since January when we left Geelong and travelled up the centre to Alice then Darwin. We crossed the border into WA at the start of May and completed the Gibbs river road which has been one of the highlights so far
From Broome we travelled to cape leveque to find the best beach ever
From Broome we have then zig zagged from coast to inland to make sure we saw as much as we could
We are travelling along at our own pace and so will cache and see as much of the area as we can
Honestly it’s thank to caching that we get to see so much

With Mrs one-eyed, and our Nissan 4WD Patrol, we decided to have a go at the west Coober Pedy area for some caches.
Road was so much smoother than the one from Glendambo to Tarcoola, where we broke the weld on our Nissan's exhaust bracket, but Bull's in Coober Pedy fixed it this morning.
Found this one with help from Mrs one-eyed.
