Stopped for this one as we were passing and you can't just drive past a cache. Took a few minutes to locate but got there eventually. tftc#7613
Quite a tricky find! Took us a while but pretty cool area - surrounded with history.
TFTC. Saw an emu, the ants but not magpies today thankfully!Happy caching and safe travels!____________________________________Yorke Peninsula 2023 trip (10 days)Day 1 : Travel to YP, set up camp at Point Turton Day 2 : Marion Bay/Innes NP & surrounds
Ms Magpie still in attendance protecting her nest, some intense swooping for a bit but she settled down. No emus today TFTC
Mrs Magpie wasnt impressed with our visit and tried to take some chunks of us for her nest. Tftc
Revisit to Innes National Park after quite a few years. Still enjoy the views. Quite a few changes since our last time in the area, some good and some not so. Great scenic drive on a blustery winter's day. Took a little while, and found pieces of the original container, then checked the logs which led to a second search and the new one being located. Nice piece of old farming infrastructure. Tftc.
We explored the national park and its beautiful scenery on a rather warm day. What an amazing park- we loved it! We did many of the walks and 21 caches in total, with no DNFs. Yay! This container was broken, sorry we didn't have one to replace. TFTC
Nice place for a cache. Quite a few ants nearby that seemed to like the taste of feet. Found with TashiBear on honeymoon day 2. TFTC
Such a beautiful area. Quick find. Found with SquidKid96 on day two of our honeymoon. TFTC
Off on our annual birthday caching trip, Purrfect Di, Mattycat and Jack coming along for the ride...
This year it's cleaning out Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park time. Something I started back on new year's eve 2012/2013 with two of my sons!
Today for Matty's 19th (maths...cats...) , on the 19th, we found 19 caches... yours was one of them !
The trough was full of thirsty ants... and the cache was down there with them! Signed and returned carefully!
We are grateful to earthlight for planning and maintaining this cache on our ever growing SA cache map!
---
Travelling all over wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck
Heaps of the luck stuff really !!!
*Most of the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course*.**
---
Beware ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!
[:o)]
The end. For now...

First time visiting South Australia, Innes NP, and my first geocache! I kept forgetting about geocaching on my travels but have finally remembered at the right time. Thanks earthlight!!
Found.
Disturbed an ants nest and got eaten.
Container is in need of replacement as it is cracked into peices.

After an early start to the day in Edithburgh, we headed out on a coolish day with iluvtrekking to grab some finds in Innes NP and others a bit further afield. Thanks earthlight
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
We set off early on a cold and cloudy morning with the threat of rain, which fortunately didn't eventuate. We enjoy the small towns, beaches, cliffs, history and ruins we encounter along the way. Thanks for your cache Earthlight.

Day 7 school holiday adventures in SA saw us hit up the national park. What an amazing place. We spent most of the day here finding random caches as we went. Easy find here. A few quick ones on the way out. Will need to return to complete the trails. Thanks for the cache
We are camped at Yorketown to enable us to find a few more of the Gone Fishn' caches and while here we are picking up other caches that we have missed on our other trips to the Peninsular. This cache is in good condition and there was not a muggle in sight when we collected the cache. SL TFTC
No water here - just as well. Day 8 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its the first day it has not been more than a chilly brisk! The Innes National Park and it’s caches was high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
Last cache to check in park.
No longer cable tied but safe and ready for next finder.

Found this afternoon, nice historic spot although the ants were friendly! TFTC
Instead of driving past and wondering what that stone structure is, how about walking over and finding a cache? . Love caching for these little gems. Thanks
Found while staying in Marion Bay for the weekend with my Shatzy and exploring the park again.
Log and container were in good condition.
Nearly eaten alive by ants

Cheers and Happy Hunting

This weekend, I headed to the Yorke Peninsula. The goal was to visit Innes National Park for the Saturday to find a few of the oldie geocaches, but also to enjoy a different vicinity for geocaching. I used Edithburgh to base myself for the weekend's activities. On the drive to/from Edithburgh, I visited Ardrossan, Port Vincent, Wool Bay, and Coobowie, and also visited as far south as Sultana Point and Troubridge Point.
Today, after participating in Edithburgh parkrun, I met gridge98 at Marion Bay, and we travelled through Innes National Park. We drove up to Browns Beach, and then made our way back visiting and hiking Royston Head, West Cape Lightstation, Ethel Beach, Cape Spencer Lighthouse, and the historic township of Inneston. With a few hours left before the Edithburgh dinner event, we separated and I decided to head north to visit a few Yorke Peninsula oldie geocaches. Following dinner, gridge98 and I walked from Edithburgh to Coobowie find the *Where Ancestors Walked By the Sea* series.
After driving past here and making a stop, we managed to find the cache reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. A cool old trough relic here! Thanks [@earthlight](http://coord.info/PR39X1P) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A quick stop here today. The cache was easily found and Is all good
A quick overnight trip to the Yorkes for 1.5 days of solid caching. I did a bit of the geoart by myself before meeting up with Davidwazza for a majority of the day caching around Innes National Park. With an event in the evening in Edithburgh headed over there before going for a nice walk along the water front for the evening. Day 2 I made my way from Edithburgh along the coast line and back home by lunch time. A total of 169 caches for the trip.
Thanks for the cache

After all the rain recently I would have expected something to drink in here but it was bone dry. Guess there must be a leak somewhere. The ground leading up to the cache was a bit squelchy underfoot and the plants nice and green. So I don't think CP will go thirsty today. TFTC.
Found while staying in the Engineers Lodge at Inneston for a few nights, with some great scenic locations visited and some nice walks during the days. Thanks for the cache earthlight!
earthlight wanted to go to Cape Spencer lighthouse and Inneston today So yesterday she had kindly asked me to travel with her [:X]
We took my car so that I could take Rex[^] and left about 7.15am from my place and returned about 9.30pm[|)][xx(]
Throughout the day we saw gorgeous sights[^] under grey skies, then sunny skies and enjoyed watching the water change its colours as the sky changed its
Rex ran himself ragged on beaches chasing pelicans and seagulls and on dirt roads sniffing the scents of rabbits, foxes and roos
By day's end I had 1 DNF and 15 cache finds
Luckily we have lots of water in the car today so we are not thirsty Maybe CP is though
I'd hate to be WTY and trying to do this series in numerical order

As Co of this cache am suggesting all cachers take precautions and use hand sanitizer and gloves when locating caches due to the corona virus and it's related health issues. Please stay safe everyone
The trough was bone dry today. Luckily we had been given fair warning and arrived not thirsty. TFTC
Thirsty as today. Thankfully the Warooka Pub was on the hit list !!
Thanks earthlight and clear skies from TeamAstro. ️ Cache the planet!
Found It!
A quick find here on arriving at Innes NP. I wonder what the history of this watering point is.

Love the Walk The York trail. Brings you to stuff you would normally sail past!
Watch out for Mr and Mrs Magpie here. We got swooped being spring time and their territory!
Just wave your hands, but look out he has a crack when you not looking! lol

After a week on the power trails with only diversions here and there to pick up other caches we are treating ourselves to a day in the Innes National Park.
A chance to maybe see some wonderful scenery and the native flora and fauna and even a lighthouse or two.
Another cache as we return to camp after a marvellous day. This is a really spectacular place,
This Park has an interesting mix of natural beauty and history. We hope to explore more of the history tomorrow, but this was just a taster.
Mrs SKI made a nice quick fid on this one.

Today am doing a maintenance run with 3LG . This was a quick stop as cache all ok.
Enjoying a 3 night stay with earthlight, while she performs a maintenance run on a host of YP caches. Staying at Coobowie in an amazing location on the foreshore and using this as base camp.
Day 2 we travelled from Coobowie to Innes NP and I managed 3 smilies today and finished up walking 21,500 steps. Got some cool footage of an emu who thought we were family and then ran off when it realised earthlight was not mother hen
