This cache celebrated the dominAnt Forces of the West but with this third incarnation falling victim to whatever, I am archiving it and making the spot available to someone else.
Spent about 10 minutes here staring into the bushes and trees for the cache. If its high up a tree its currently out of reach for me as my shoulder is still not strong enough for tree climbing after surgery. Everywhere lower down was scanned for possible camoed mint tin hiding places. How its visible from the path and not to someone standing beside it escapes me. But it was a failure here today.
Took us a bit longer than the other caches along this lovely walk but it can spotted from the path. Nice dry log. TFTC
Well Kevin was still standing tall and doing his duty well. I have not cached much in the Northern Secretive Avenues and might need some intelligence from him as to where to he's seen suspicious geocachers lurking. Keep spying Kevin
PS No Significant Allegiances were formed or broken in the finding of this cache.
Thanks for the hide

Second visit here...Three Pairs of eyes .....Won't get washed away here!
Can see from path when you know where to look.

Another nice quick find with PhilBirdBoys, our 3rd of the day. Went straight to it. Tftc.
I wanted to get JrGun9 out of the house for a bit and noting it was a dot day figured a few caches would be a good idea - I'm now at 301 found days.
I noticed this was an area of three clues for the current Geocaching promotion so picked four here for a nice walk.
No luck here last time but I'm somewhat glad it's due to it being missing rather than my searching. This time it was in the first place I thought - although it took quite some time before I actually tried that spot.

Started walking back to the car then decided I'd walk around to the other cache here... walking past this one again, spotted it from the path - I was originally thinking it would be closer to where it could have been previously washed away. TFTC
With some of our Team BOP mates: (Mr) Davidson clan, McJandals, NZFlossy, and Philip.Perry. Logs were signed with our Team BOP handle... Today, everyone is looking for a break on the Mystery at the Museum case... We finally found enough hides to return the stolen gems and the case has been closed... Any finds now are just bonus.
We had thoughts of pulling the plug after dinner (We’re driving)... The plan was to line our vehicle up with Waterview Tunnel, but we conveniently missed the on-ramp. What to do? Recalculating... And we arrive in Te Atatu... This cache was AWOL when we visited a few weeks ago. We were pleased to see it had been replaced. We went through the same search patterns as before, and spotted this carefully positioned hide. Yes, that is some reach... Thanks jard1037 and TFTC.

On the road again with TEAMBOP. It was an early start - McJandals, NZFlossy, Davidson Clan, Squirrel Nutcase & myself crammed into the car with today’s mission - Mystery at the Museum souvenirs. We had Kiwicouples Crayola 64 series on our list but honestly any cache in our way was likely to become a smiley
Most of our team had cleared Te Atatu but with replacement caches available and a few new publications - we were back and we had a job to do. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward hint. Cheers jard1037, TFTC

On a road trip with Team BOP After doing the Crayola trail we came into Auckland and found some more caches and beautiful parks. Thanks to all the COs for some great caches and please forgive the template as it saves a lot of time back home. Thanks for replacing TFTC
On a mission with Team Bop. We’re hoping to clear up the mystery at the museum challenge. I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers
This cache has been muggled or washed away twice so I have replaced it with a camo'd mint tin, located at height. Please retrieve and replace it carefully so that the natural camo that is holding it in place will remain.
Woops, OK will do a maintenance run this weekend to check this out and replace (again) if necessary
Had a good poke around for ages, unfortunately not there for us today. Thanks anyway.
We had been in town this morning for a Creation Celebration Event and were going to potter around town to find some caches. Having hit a traffic jam in Parnell, we exited the city as fast as possible and decided to continue our finds on the Te Atatu Peninsula revisiting the war we missed. What a lovely spot this is. We enjoyed the walk and the cache was nicely decorated. The log was wet and mushy, so we replaced it with a waterproof log all good now. SL. TFTC.
Did not get the hint but got the nice camo cache. Well done on your artwork. TFTC
Out in the area checking on a few of my caches with my nephew. Since I was out this way I made it an effort to find the last remaining caches on the Peninsula that are unfound. We both spotted this cache on approach, so made sure to cover with a lot more natural camo, so not so obvious to muggles.
Such a lovely day for caching! Had to time this one to avoid muggles but a quick find in the end. Tftc!
Had tried to find this previously without success, but came back today to make a quick find of the replacement cache, thanks for updating, cheers
A nice quick find here with darthcacher1 and purply. Happy to be the first to sign the new log.
Finally got back here today with a replacement cache. Hidden in a safer location, i.e. this one should'nt get washed away. Easier than before so will have to drop the D rating and have changed the clue.
Checked it out tonite and it does appear to have been muggled. I will build another and replace it.
No Luck for us in the dark
Today was really the last chance the HKCB and I had had to gather the required intellegence (caches) for the Hidden Souviner Challenge and as such, since we had only begun collecting caches towards this last week, time was rapidly running out.
So come wet or fine we were to collect caches. So plans were hatched and we departed at 'Oh My God its only 3am" from Hamilton headed for the big smoke (Home by 3pm). Rain it was to be for the start of the day, clearing up by about 9am then as we packed the car and got on the motorway heading south it started again. We just laughed heartidly at our good fortune.
We did well for the day with myself collecting some 65 caches towards the total and only about 3-4 DNF's, so for all that good work we have left quite the hole in the map ready for the next visit.
Thank you all the CO's for your fantastic contributions to our days efforts and may your wars continue to populate the Geocaching Maps. I know they are generic logs but then sometimes you get that.
Thank you for the cache, thank you for the placement

Plenty of hint objects in the vicinity, but the obvious one standing tall, 6m from where the GPS was sending me, did not contain a cache. Nor did any others in the 12m radius that I searched.
After a wet afternoon caching around Point Chev/Ponsonby, yorkshirekiwi83 and I returned to Te Atatu, where the sun was shining, so we went out to grab a few more caches. We looked in a few different places till something caught my eye here - nice work on the camo, fav point added! TFTC!
Vistra and I were out for the day, it had just stopped raining and I could do with a walk, had a couple to grab close to home on a nice walk so we headed there, as did a whole heap of muggles making the most of the break in the rain.. Great to get a few more towards the hidden creatures. TFTC
No luck until I read a log which mentioned the cache being 8m away from coords... voila, instance find! T4tc
Decided to come to this area today as there looked like plenty of caches for us to try and grab in order for us to collect some of the hidden creatures that are up for grabs.looking like this is going to be a lovely walk around here with some great views too.got to the cache and wasnt long before we were able to sign the log even with the cameo.
I came to The end of Te Atatu this afternoon to Stand with Kelvin. There are a lot of possible hint items in the vicinity, and I looked at most of them before finally spotting the camo. Love the wording on the cache page. TFTC
Out and about for a spot of cache detection for a few hours today. Great winter weather for it today as it is cool yet still and sunny. I parked up at the end of Kelvin Crescent and entered the reserve. After success at "Beaut Bay" I continued this little walk over this way. Cache wasn't immediately evident to me after a short search. Got a nudge from a PAF and soon had it hand after that. Turns out I wasn't looking in the right spot; my GPSr had the coordinates as 6m out. Nice effort on the camo here. Cheers for the cache placement!
As the weather was lovely and sunny (but cold) we decided to head out to the Peninsula to make a start on the creature souviners. There were quite a few possible hiding places around so we searched for a little. Finally after nearly giving up something looked a little out of place, nicely hidden in plain site. Thanks
After Mr NZT commented a few weeks back that I was in front of him in number of caches found this year he took great delight in going out caching with us for a day in an area where I already had quite a few and he didn’t. After that adventure I was still ahead by 10 but I noticed last night that he must have done some secret caching as he is 10 in the lead! This situation needs rectifying so with the geo-kids otherwise occupied I drafted a plan and what better spot to go to other than waring locals...they will be sympathetic to my plight...the chase is ON!!
Searched for a little while but needed to press on and get some numbers....camo too good for me today - I’ll be back...

Met up with alpenmilch80 for a few caches out this way today and with a car at each end of the trail for us we were looking to make some quick time on the caches out here we hadn't done yet.
No issues here and a nice easy find in a likely looking spot before heading to the next. TFTC

Decided for a rare trip into this war zone with the protection of local ally evilno9. Easy find in the bushes. TFTC
Mummy's sick, so Daddy and the girls have come out for a big walk around the top of Te Atatu Peninsula. No sign of wasps around here today luckily - just a slightly damp cache. Thanks!
Great cache! Took two visits and various excuses to interested party's as to why somebody would be off trail
Came here with Pazza during a break in the rain and ran into Supernanny while investigating a mysterious cache placement of G-2s. We made a quick find here and managed to sort out the riddle of G-2's cache with Supernanny through some emails and announcements rather than trying to second guess where the placement was made. Thanks Jard.
We came to check on this post after seeing some more propagANTa issued from the disillusioned NSA General (No.2) . He claimed to have invaded this area with Riddle of the Rumply Roots Saga x4 but our western General Gorby (No 1) wasn't thwarted by it and soon realized the NSA hadn't even crossed the waters for that riddle. None of it makes any sense I know, but the NSA claiming victory makes even less sense. United we stand Jard!!!
Today in my spare time I decided to head back out West to find a few more caches - although not as far west as on my last visit... After finding a few caches along the motorway cycleway, I headed for Tat North to find some more. This one didn't take too long to spot and I wasn't bothered by any wasps. Whew! TFTC, Biggles.
Arranged to met Tufty to clean up my caches on the peninsula and some of his we were driving past. Didn't realise there was a path until we were on our way back. Cache took a little while to find but after eliminating some possible spots the cache was located. Thanks
I was out with Team Welsh today for a couple of hours to locate a few caches she needed to tick off. There are quite a few others that I need to sign off another day.
We took the shortest route from carpark to GZ which was the wettest route as well. Came back via the path. Took a while to locate this one.
Cheers for the cache.

I had to make a couple of visits before spotting the cache. Not sure that where it was matched the hint, but I returned it to the same spot. Long live the NSA! TFTC
Took a while but I got there in the end. Didn't attempt last time I was in the area as it had so many DNF's in a row.

Found after some help from a SUPER Cacher...had been in that area before but got chased off by an squadron of wasps. Still in attendance today, but not as many....thank goodness. cheers V.
Second visit here......Finally found the cache!
Thanks Jard...I think!
Love your description here about the War!
After crawling around many logs here I will Stand Tall in Kelvin Strand and be counted!
Phew.....

Not got my Geocaching head on today. Hoards of Very Angry Wasps everywhere. Be careful they're out onto the path and even on the bridge
I was sitting on the computer when this notification came out, thought do I or not go for it, I really should... but there was somewhere else I had to go and sit...erhmmm... before I could go anywhere, did my business then dutifully shot over to see what's been happening of late in the Generals territory. I thought with my slight delay in getting to the park area there would be a few cars already here, but no! So took my time to walk to GZ, looked around after 100m and still no one had arrived but then after 2 mins of searching .... hello guys how are ya! Jag50 (Mr and Mrs) and merlot58 showed up almost out of nowhere. So now I don't mind a bit of help, the cache proved to be very elusive and I guess we all spent at least 15-20 mins searching! A call went out to the C.O for a bit more of a hint then it still took more time, eventually Mrs Jag found the goodies in an area we all had searched but not properly! Nice one Jard, glad to have bagged this one! Now the West can Rest, looking forward to Glyn's event where can all call the proceedings to an end and have a truce. A nice joint {FTF} with merlot and the Jag's.

I have recently vacated the war zone and am staying in a more peaceful area but had met up with the Jags to do a local cache as I'm currently living just down the road from them. We were on our way when notification came of a new cache from one of our Western allies so we diverted. Arriving at GZ we spied Gorby's car and then Gorby himself making his way to gz so quickly set off after him and arrived to find him bum in air beginning his search. We joined forces and within minutes Mrs Jag called out 'found it' only to discover it was an old cache that had been archived that belonged to one of the Now Seriously Annoying northerners. Back to searching we went and after quite some time Mrs Jag once again called out 'found it' and sure enough she had found the nicely camo'd cache in a place I think we had all searched and we were able to sign our names on the log for a joint Belligerants {FTF}
Kilo Sierra 19 were in the district undertaking an overhaul of equipment and facilities on a western post. Upon completing maintenance and repair, keeping our military resources in satisfactory condition, it was time to refer to the "comic".
Another assault !!
Headed to the Zone of Action - It was very apparent that some skulduggery had occurred as there was marked scorched earth!! Noted that Inactive Status of Jag50, Merlot and Gorby had been forced to seek clarification from their own side as to where the cache should be!!
Posting a vedette we began our sweep. Regular halts due to muggle activity. This was no Coup de Main but with unhalting tenacity the offending item was located and neutralized after a considerable period. The final Coup de grâce of those pesky ANTs.
Breach countered , all under control of the NSA. Over and out.

Were headed out to do a cache very close to home when the phone pinged a signal for a new cache. The passengers checked the info and discovered that it was not too far away so decided to try for a FTF. Had a chuckle at the cache description which was read aloud as we drove. Got to our parkup close to GZ to spot General Gorby's light armored vehicle parked there and the General making his way across the park. We quickly parked and chased after him. Got to GZ as he was beginning to lay waste to the area. We spent some time with him and Merlot58 attempting to find the cunning hide. Eventually it was discovered(a joint {FTF}) well camouflaged, and it will be no surprise if followers after us have to record it as DNF it is so well hidden. In the process of discovering this cache we also found early on an abandoned and archived cache previously owned we understand by G2. We also noted that not long after the cache was posted, G2 wanting for something better to do, had decided to post a rebuttal of the cache description and explained it away as a "rant" . Little does G2 realise he has finally been won over by the Beligerantz, and himself is now using "ant" descriptor words in his logs. Our subliminal subterfuge has been successful.
Aha, the war descends to the depths of American Politics, this litany of lies reminds me of the rants of rabid snowflakes of the left in a desperate attempt to swing the public back from a popular presidential movment that still has power of the peninsula, members of the public may I appeal to your higher intellect and “forgive them for they know not what they are saying “
