Checked on this one today. Has definitely been swallowed into the bowels of Kervil....
Brought a replacement cache but the line had gone so couldn't replace today Sad

25-Nov-18
We didn't spend long here, we spotted a piece of fishing line attached to the portal and assumed that it once had the cache container attached but there was nothing attached today. We may have been completely wrong and look forward to trying to find again in the future

As a former Westie, currently on active service with the Mainland Militia (Geocaching Branch), I decided to conduct a surprise tour of inspection of the former war zone today to see what intelligence I could gather (and which caches I could find). TFTC, Biggles.

Caching today with The(neutral)MexiKiwi and looking to collect a few more war caches while the weather was good and time was on our side.

Able to park up nice and close, and it wasn't too long before the sneaky cache was in hand and we were off to the next. TFTC

Well placed hide.

Found after some looking, I was in the wrong place at first.

My eight months stay in New Zealand is nearly over so I wanted to do one more big Geocaching tour in this great country! I asked thegreatauk wether he is interested in a big day trip - and of course he was. So we chose this day and made our way to Te Atatu Peninsula with our rental car.
We were a bit worried about the weather, but fortunately we only saw the dark clouds but just had a few drops and no strong rain.
Most of the Caches were easy to find for us, we only had a very few number of DNF's, so we reached our goal of 40 Caches without problems. Probably we also would have reached the fifty if we would not have had a flat battery… However,we enjoyed a great day with a lot of nice Caches!

----------
Not sure wether this is a promised land but okay, found it quick Smile

Thanks for hiding!

We came down to the park here to look for this cache, we're just starting to lose the brightness of the light of what has been a very nice late August day but still plenty of light to look for the cache here.

We located the Bowel and were grateful we we weren't going to be expected to be proctologists or worse here. Had a wee look but didn't spot anything and then managed to spot the cache itself without spotting the method of retrieval. Fortunately Bennett24 could see how it get it into our hand and he did the hard work.

Got the cache into our hot little hands and managed to get the log out no problem and got everything signed. All good here and thanks for the cache.

Interesting placement here that was spotted by Tuolei. Cache is in good condition and was glad not too drop anything while signing the log. TFTC

Today was really the last chance the HKCB and I had had to gather the required intellegence (caches) for the Hidden Souviner Challenge and as such, since we had only begun collecting caches towards this last week, time was rapidly running out.
All caches signed as "HKCD"

So come wet or fine we were to collect caches. So plans were hatched and we departed at 'Oh My God its only 3am" from Hamilton headed for the big smoke (Home by 3pm). Rain it was to be for the start of the day, clearing up by about 9am then as we packed the car and got on the motorway heading south it started again. We just laughed heartidly at our good fortune.
We did well for the day with myself collecting some 65 caches towards the total and only about 3-4 DNF's, so for all that good work we have left quite the hole in the map ready for the next visit.

Thank you all the CO's for your fantastic contributions to our days efforts and may your wars continue to populate the Geocaching Maps. I know they are generic logs but then sometimes you get that.

Thank you for the cache, thank you for the placement

With the Hidden Creatures Souvenirs ending soon, and not much of a tally to my name so far one big push was going to be needed to get over the line. Cats&Dragons was is a similar boat, so after a quick scout of the maps Te Atutu, and the nearby motorway cycleway looked like just the ticket to get us both the numbers we needed.

A early start of 3am (this is getting more and more regular) from hamilton saw us starting the hunt just before 5am. The weather wasn't playing along at first as we had drizzle for the first hour or so, but it cleared up once the sun came up and stayed away right up to the point we headed for home. It turned out to be a very successful day with more than enough found to uncover all the Hidden Creatures.

We found a great varity of caches over the day, with some really great hides as well as one or two that were too good for us, or muggles had got them. I'll mention a few here and there that were extra memorable as I get to them, but unfortunetly I only have time for a cut and paste log for most. However a huge thanks to the CO's as the quality of caches were very high.

Early morning and I was a long way off finding the turtle, but a swish and a swelch and I soon had this cache in hand and was one step closer to the mythical beast.

18-Jul-18
I wanted to clean up all the caches on the peninsula today and this one had been placed since my last visit. Soon spotted the entrance to the bowel and once making sure that the keys and glasses were well tucked away the cache as retrieved. TFTC

After a nearby event shot down here to check out the bowel. Nice quick find

30-Jun-18
After a morning of cycle-caching along the NW Mwy with yorkshirekiwi83 and Jacksonz, I headed home, had some lunch then joined up with KirsTim who were caching in the area this afternoon. Logs signed with either our names or "KTT". Approached the bowel entrance and soon spotted the cache. TFTC!

Decided it was time to rejoin the war efforts, after a month long sabbatical for uni exams. Not the most easiest to spot even knowing what to look for.

30-Jun-18
Reminded me of something from "Under the Mountain", very nicely hidden cache, third to sign here today, cheers

After some lunch and picking up Vistra nearby, we set about gathering some more caches, courtesy of some apparent unrest in the area. A little confused as to what its all about so will declare ourselves to be neutral. Recalled we'd been in this park before, many years ago when we first started caching. We knew where it should be, there was only promised land nearby, but was making the mistake of look for the line rather than dangly thing. It was soon spotted and in good nick. Thanks

Out caching around Te Atatu on this amazing winters day, it looks like I am not alone as I have seen Aiden29 and KrisTeam on various logs Big Grin

I had the gumboots in the car, but decided to make my way, and see how bad it might be. Luckily for me, its ok, and not muddy at all. I went fishing and was soon retrieving the cache.

Thanks for the hide JohnGillon, and bringing me here.

24-Jun-18
I knew where it had to be, but didn't spot it a first. It was quite slippery from the rain, so I was careful in selecting my approach and where I positioned myself to search. After coming at it from several different angles, I spotted the cache. TFTC.

19-Jun-18
We had previously inspected the Bowel of Kervil on the morning after the cache was published. On that occasion we didn't sign the log when we found that we had missed out on the FTF. Returned this afternoon and added our name. Thanks.

19-Jun-18
Nice quick find today ...cheers V

18-Jun-18
I had to visit the grey and black water disposal site south of the motorway and seeing that I was in the area decided to pick a few more caches.

I spotted the elusive cache after a couple of minutes. Note to self: Time to change footwear.

Cheers for the cache.

Bit muddy getting to GZ, but I knew where to look.

Came here yesterday and struggled even tho I am sure I gave it a thorough look. After getting confirmation that I was looking in the right place, I came back this morning for a quick find. TFTC on Streak Day #526

11-Jun-18
Very well camoed thanks JohnGillon!
I admit it was MUCH easier to locate in daylight!
Well done.
There was even evidence of more tunneling today nearby...! Wasn't there on Sat night!

10-Jun-18
We raced to this cache by convoy because it was the only cache left unlogged from the previous nights release.
A tricky little find as it is, let alone in the dark.
Nothing is fair in love of war, this one had already been infiltrated from the other of the world.
A tricky little find as it is, let alone in the dark...a good hide! Tftc

Our western forces arrived quickly by convoy and this cache was Geocch's and my final bastion of a chance ftf. Considering we hit TAP with only one of the 8 caches logged, our hope of this being the only one pretty much went down the gurgler as we saw yet another unlogged signature. Great hide JohnGillon....this war is showing no signs of abating....

10-Jun-18
Came here with kiwicouple, pazzabella and that Giocchi fellow! It was pitch black and the head torches were blaring. We had high hopes of claiming ftf here, especially since supernanny logged a DNF! BUT we had to find the cache first! We looked in one spot that proved fruitless. But then in no time at all Mrs kiwicouple spotted something that eluded us all! Whoo hoo so I handed the cache to pazzabella and are we FTF??? Not a chance... die gang has struck again.

09-Jun-18
[FTF] Yippee. We got the notifications and ten minutes later we were sitting in our rental caching vehicle. We stay in an AirBnB in Massey so it wasn't far at all.
Thanks to the hint we searched at the right place and quickly found the container. Cool idea!
Thanks for showing! Tftc
