Taking a meandering trip back to Hamilton, seeking out some caches to contribute to the S37 challenge. No kids, no horses, and importantly no cache found
Stopped by for a easy find on my way to Auckland for a ten pin bowling tournament. Thanks McCutchan Cache Clan for the cache.
I parked up at the near by rest area and headed off for a walk, keeping my fingers crossed the rain would hold off (which it did)
Didn't spot anything in the paddock, but I did find the cache.
Thanks for setting this up

Came by this cache for an Auckland challenge I'm working on.. namely tramyards horse challenge, I need 250 total caches with the horse attribute, this cache adds to my total. No horse here today, I'm afraid. Would have been nice to see them here. https://coord.info/GCA5F8V.
In the absence of a MEGA event this Labour Weekend, Keylev had spent some time planning a Mega Mysterious Weekend for members of Team SEAC (a group of cachers from south and east Auckland who often cache together). Today's plan was to head south and find as many caches as we could around the Huntly area. In the group today is HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-Crane, NurseDr, Keylev, UncleSamNZ, Liverkiwi. It ended up being a long day and a bit - leaving the start point at 9 am and returning home after 1:30 am the following day.
The horse here was one of a few different animals we encountered today, (s)he wasn't much help finding the cache though. Luckily it was an easy find.

Labour Weekend has historically been a minimum 3 day Team SEAC all out adventure so a little while ago I started planning some fun for us. After a walking day yesterday, today was a driving one and more about the numbers and clearing out an area we have had our eyes on for a while. Ended up being a massive day (left home around 8.30am and got home at 1:40am!)....it wasn't called a Mega Mysterious Weekend for nothing. Enjoyed the fun with friends...just like the 'old' times.
Awww beautiful friendly horse here who came across to say hello....oh and of course we found the cache!!
Thanks for the cache.

Last year, Team SEAC members went on a road trip down to Cambridge to clear out as many of the caches in that town and its surrounding areas. On the way home from that trip, we stopped off in Huntly to do the night cache. After completing the night cache, we vowed to come back to Huntly and grab as many of the caches in that area as we could. Today was that day.
Well, as soon as we pulled up and jumped out of the case, we could see why we may have wanted to bring a carrot or some sugar cube, very cute. Not only that, but it was obviously very used to strange people coming around to find a poke around its surroundings. All the animal lovers of course had to have a stroke while the rest of us were stroking the grass out of the way in order to find the cache. After a short search, the cache was found and the log signed before replacing the cache and saying a final farewell to our new friend.
The log was signed as Team SEAC to preserve log space.

Day 2 of our Labour weekend caching mission, and also happens to be a significant day for me yearly...... Our group decided to head down Huntly way for a good variety of cache types and then head inland and back up to Auckland.....some of use a little jaded from the impromptu high elevation gain hike yesterday, we eased ourselves into search mode.....
Signed is as SEAC to save logbook space and allowing us more time to enjoy the area which surprised us as to how many scenic places are hiding in Huntly....
Thanks to all the CO's for hiding and maintaining caches here.....and to mother nature for the awesome weather we had......
I love how soft a horses nose is to touch......just remember to keep fingers and hands out of their mouth.....

Liked talking’s to Mr Ed.
Out with Team Seac for another day of adventures. We did a full day of caching on the Saturday with a long hike! And decided to head down to Huntly for the day. I really enjoyed my time around here, and would like to come back again. Some us finished at 10pm, some finished at 1amish!
Sorry for the generic logs. Thank you for taking the time to place this cache.
Out with KeyLev, HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-crane, NZTravellers, LiverKiwi, NurseDr. All logs signed “Team Seac” or similar to save log paper.

We are caching around the Huntly area today mostly trying for easy side of the road caches in case the threatening rain comes back. This one did turn out to be easy - once we looked in the right place. TFTC
Found on one of my last trips to town but not logged. Friend not much help with pointing out the cache. TFTC
Stayed the night in Huntly at the campground on Lake Hakanoa. A delightful place with lots of caches around for us to look for. Got up early and headed out on my bike before it gets too hot. Meant to be 28 degrees later. Nobody about this early and sadly no four legged creatures. Still there was a cache. Thanks McCutchan Cache Clan for the smiley.
Had been to Te Awamutu for work. The job had gone particular well and I left site early. Cached all the way home and took the "scenic route" to maximise the cache count.

We had no carrots or appleas but the occupants were still pretty friendly and one even got a pat. Thankfully a nice quick find, glad we were here nice and early. TFTC

It was only as I was signing the cache that I suddenly clicked on the title of the cache, very funny, cheers.
First chance to check since adoption, could not find it, so a new container is now in place, see description for new details

We spent ages here and round both ng tied to the fence. Coordinates were 5 metres from the gate. Searched the whole fence from gate to nearest house.
We had passed this gz a couple of days ago and noticed a few people searching for this one. As we were on a mission we didn’t stop for this one at that time. Today we stopped off to find this one which was not where we expected it to be and so we missed it on our initial search
On a ladies weekend to Hamilton with Supernanny, Jag50 and Nette1234. This one took us a bit longer than it should have as we were searching the wrong place but after reading logs we refocused and found it
Found while on a trip north with tmann421.
Enjoying discovering the areas and finding some caches.

Heading south today with Team Gold ( 0B80B8, Lis's Crew & DaffyNZ ), from Northland to do a weekend caching trip in the Waikato, with the main objective being the Hakarimata Trail. Stopped off here on the way down and managed to make a nice quick find of a somewhat smaller than regular sized cache. No sign of the What Has..? though. TFTC
I'm heading down from Paihia to the Hamilton area for a geocaching weekend with team G0LD: Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ. They're going to walk the Hakarimata track. I got shin splints while training for the walk so unfortunately I can't join them.
We're just picking up a few caches today on the way down. I was pleased with my weekend tally: Fri 26, Sat 27, Sun 26.
We figured out the answer to the cache tittle quickly but didn't see any animals here today. The cache was quick and easy as I figured you couldn't hide a regular sized cache anywhere else. Despite a drought the cache had shrunk dramatically, TFTC

Heading away from Auckland for the weekend and this was a nice park and grab, initially thought we were looking for a regular as per the cache page description and then once we found the micro realised it was a replacement cache. TFTC
New cache is in place is a micro green screw top tied to fence, thanks for being patient it took longer than thought to replace due to health reasons and family issues but got there in the end enjoy
Logging this cache with permission from the co hope to go back and sign one day.Unfortunately no horse in the field today either.
Had a great day in Huntly picking up some caches. The weather was beautiful and giving us a taste of summer. Thanks to all the COs for taking me to Huntly’s interesting places I too spent long time looking and then reread the page and previous logs TFTC
Find number 5763. I have called here before with no luck. Had some time tonight before the event so decided to have another look. Wandered up and down a couple of times. No luck so it was back to the car. Sat and read the cache page and then some of the logs. Cache is not there so I have a photo of the horses who came over to say help. Thank you for the cache.
Cache container has gone missing as I checked today so please stick with me well I get a new one as I’m waiting on a new micro to turn up for this to replace it so if you find the gz you have my permission to log as found till I get the new container and log book in place hopefully all is allowed
Working the second job, I had enough time in between calls to grab a couple caches.. This was the first and a straight forward find. TFTC!
A few muggles to dodge, no animals to feed, one tidy cache to find and our work was done. TFTC
Dodged some muggles then moggy val soon had cache in hand. No one to feed today. Thanks
Caching today with TheMexikiwi looking to finish the year off with a few more caches and found ourselves here.
All empty around here today, but the cache was quickly found in a likely looking spot and we were soon on our way again.
Nice spot - TFTC

A quick stop as Avoyager and I made out way South. AV made the find - clever bunny that she is - 4 legs, 6 eyes and thousands of caches.... the AV/PNZ dynamic duo.
Nice hide here. We wandered through the fog to GZ to make a nice quick find. Container has a crack in it so will need checking. TFTC
Checked up on cache was a little wet from the rain so dried it also the best time to bring kids is on a Saturday or Sunday as the ponies will be close by to pat
All geocachers have permission to feed and or pay the ponies the sign is for the general public due to local kids feeding them bad things
Out and about for a drive in the country and to collect some caches along the way. I found myself near to this GZ so made sure to stop by. I parked up, crossed the road and made myself to GZ. The ponys were out enjoying the sunshine. I did note a sign on the fence saying to not feed or pat them without owner permission, so I stayed focus on the cache. Which was a quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!
Small detour on the way home from Auckland, took a few minutes to find this one. A bit of un unusal hiding location but it works! The four legged guardians came up to say hello. Thanks for the hide.
As I approached GZ, I saw answer walking towards me. I didn't have anything they may have wanted, so they lost interest fairly quickly. Fortunately, I had enough interest in Geocaching to make the find. TFTC.
Today was another day combined with work and caching. Stayed in Rotorua for night and picked up the Squirrel on the way.
First to Putaruru then out to south of Pirongia. Bit of good planning with 2 caches a bit further up the road.
Also needed to go to Karaka on our way to Auckland for a couple of events, but with traffic issues we dodged Karaka we went to our first event on the list and arrived about 30 minutes after it started......
Rest of the day was a bit here and there collecting caches.
No problems to locate this one. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... It's International Geocaching Day. We have a mixed day of jobs and caching up and down the country...
We got away from home early so that Gap could clear some work. We blew through jobs in Putaruru and Pirongia. Then it was time to head northward to catch some events... Time was of the essence, so we enlisted the help of our Huntly friends at this hide. As previous finders, they were able to give us directions. TFTC.

No it won’t be there, said my husband. So we searched everywhere else then came back to the original spot to make the find. Took 2 travel bugs, thanks.
Another chance to work my way continued on what I didn't clear off from last weekends trip. So once again an early start to the day followed by lots of laughter and fun while hunting for caches in the "Burbs" that really is Auckland.
An early start one again at "oh my god o'clock" which had me starting caching for the start of the day in the day. On the way home today I thought to grab this one. No sign of Mr Ed but rather a mighty fine cache
thank you for the placement, thank you for the cache

sitting at home watching the TV and saw a new cache arrive, pouring with rain, and it's dark, and I have a cold, a perfect storm for a FTF, Arrived at GZ and saw heaps of tyre marks at GZ and thought I may have been beaten to it, quickly found the container (after a slip 'n' slide thru the mud) and opened up the log book.......Whoo Hoo a {FTF} for me, been a long time.
Thanks for the new cache and the find!
