Next stop on my short trip around the area and after a couple of dogs at the last cache, this time it was the local cow herd. Some took off as I approached, but others stayed where they were to see what the human was doing. Cache was soon found, log signed and I was on my way again.
Thanks for another one GS....log is a little wet, but still able to be signed.

Spending a few hours around Clunes to do some adventure labs and other special caches.
Also finding some as we headed back to Ballarat.
Thanks to the COs for placing these caches.
Also finding some as we headed back to Ballarat.
Thanks to the COs for placing these caches.
While staying in Ballarat we decided to take a drive up to Clunes to find some caches along the way, as well as the ones in town and also do the adventure labs based around the history of Clunes. Had a lovely few hours enjoying the area and learning about its past. Thanks to the COs for the caches/ALs.
Find No. 3539. Found at 4.12pm
A trip down to Clunes to grab some caches in the area so we could get our points for 'Reach the Peak - Kilimanjaro' challenge. Geodog Penny came with us.
First up we toured around the township doing 'The Golden Era' and 'Historic Clunes' Adventure Labs and bonuses. Next stop was at the Showgrounds where we had a cuppa and eats and Geodog Penny had a good run around the area.
We then decided to travel further out of town to grab another five caches before heading back home - this being the third of five.
Geodog Penny wandered around the area while we went looking for the cache which was quickly found. Log signed and back to the van we all went to go onto the next one.

I had attempted this cache before on a previous ocassion but was muggled out. Back in the area today and the coast was clear. Thanks for placing.
Up early on this wet morning, I headed out this way. Unable to find the cache anywhere I contacted the CO who kindly allowed me to replace the cache. Lucky I had a suitable replacement on board with me. What a well kept community facility, thanks for highlighting it GemmaSistema.
The hint says third big tree but that didn’t help us because the navigation kept on changing its mind
We took your advice and checked out the plaques and are impressed with the information. SL TFTC
Found this little guy out in the open on the ground. Everything still intact and in good order. Put it in a spot I *think* is right, but the CO might want to check.
I love going to Lambleys Nursery here and have been meaning to do this cache for ages. Today was the day ... many thanks
Tftc! I didn't realise there was a playground here. I might bring my boys back one day
Found on my way to Wedderburn to be in commuting range of the Mega event at St Arnaud. This was an easy find with just a short diversion from the main road. TFTC.
Found and nearly blown off the face of the earth by the wind. Tftc. Greetings from Adelaide
An easy find today while taking a few hours of my RDO to get some caching in. Great to see these old halls being renovated and remaining an important asset for these local communities. Thx GemmaS for placing.
Find # 8023

Day 20
Suscoe was wandering the country side today in the company of the sister.
It was a delightful day with relatively clear skies and bright Winter's sunshine.
We were working our way around the Creswick area taking in some interesting sights and some great caching locations.
Thanks to GemmaSistema for this hide, these country halls are certainly well looked after around this area.
Ascot Hall had been decked out ready for a party when we looked in the windows, we hoped it was an enjoyable event for all.

A calendar day needed filling today so despite the darkness and cold, we (neisha07, boo09 & I) continued on from Talbot after footy/netball training to nab this one.
We were in such a hurry to get back to the warm car and get home that we ditched the GPS after reading the hint... big mistake.
First we went to the wrong row of trees, then we counted from the wrong direction.
Finally we go to the correct GZ and a quick find was made. TFTC

Find number 300 for us on a super cold windy day! Thanks for bringing us here, often drive past but never stop so it's nice to stop and take it all in! TFTC, SL, TNLN
Found on our way to Maryborough with Monchichi1 in tow. A nice quick find. Boys enjoyed the playground while we made the find. TFTC GemmaSistema
Well, that led me on a merry chase.
Passed all the trees, doubled back, walked around for a bit, found lots of nooks and crannies, then read the clue.
Ahhh, found at last.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and MazzyMay. We found this cache after spending the day at Mount Beckworth. TFTC
Logged as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and SciFiRulz. We headed out today to enjoy the adventure at Mount Beckworth and collected this one on the way home. TFTC
I managed to find this one but being me it all depends on where I started counting. No problems once I sorted that out.

Find #2091 for me. Found at 11:45 am while on my way to Ballarat from Bendigo with the kids. Ascot Hall... I have vague memories of visiting this place as a kid with my parents, aunts, uncles and cousins on our regular Sunday outings in the 1970s, so it was nice to return here today! Coming here from another cache near Smeaton I certainly took a roundabout route to get to Ballarat but that's what geocachers do, right?! Once at GZ I was able to park in the shade and make a quick find without a single grumble from the kids. Bonus! Thanks for bringing me back here today Gemma, and thanks for the cache!
Found by Mary and David at 1510. Such an early date to settle here. Wonder if there are still descendants of those pioneers in the district. Our thanks to GemmaSistema.
Heading home we had time to stop here we waited for a local to move then headed out to see what we could find, while no one was around, it was hot and muggy so we were grateful for the shade, log retrieved, signed and replaced as found, thanks for the cache and the fun
TFTC. On the way to Ballarat on this scorcher of a day. The temptation was to great not to do a short detour off my route . Found shade, a short walk , signed log and quickly back to the air con.

The first day of a new caching year!
After the Hello 2019 Event, along with Alansee, we set a route homeward which would take us past a number of jointly unfound caches.
A nice shady spot to be looking for a cache.
Thanks to 'GemmaSistema' for placing this cache on the geo-gameboard.

A short detour on the way home from celebrating New Year Day at Clunes. This cache was found OK, excellent co ords. Thanks GemmaSistema.
Found in the company of Phetlern. Another place deserviing of a cache. We were looking in the wrong place until someone decided to follow the GPS!
In the territory close to home base. Nice hide in AMIA Hall grounds never knew existed. Find#3007@ 5.02pm
After attending a fun get together xmas event in Ballarat it was now time to set off to conquer the newly published caches with wozzle68. The rain was annoyingly intermittent and even heavy at times but that didn't stop us collecting each and every unfound cache this side of town. Many interesting plaques/monuments were discovered on our travels in places we least expected them.
We spotted the well shaped camouflage as the cows mooved away from the fence line.....we are beginning to think cows don't like us
Thanks GemmaSistema for the hide and giving us a fun outing today.

The last of the new caches that I found late this morning.
A nice easy find in a quiet grove of mature trees
Cheers

A quick find while in the area with the Tritonz we haven’t ever been here before. Thanks for placing the cache
Thanks for bringing us here Gemmasistema I love these small tucked away towns.
I checked my email and seen the published notice and noted the vague direction from home of 24 miles west and thought hey that’s out near Ballarat and then hey we need to go to Ballarat today!
So bundled the two smallest Geomidgets in the car we were off. Before long we were parked in front of this cool little country hall.
I pointed the kids in the vague direction said “over there” and next thing the five year old is running back to me with the cache in hand yelling “I found it”
Blank log page completed, toilet stop done and were off to Ballarat to get the finishing touches for christmas dinner.
Thanks again The kids are babbling away with huge grins
