We continued today our tour of Queensland and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to lost 2 found for the generation of this nice cache Welcome to Bluff (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. Found with _hitam on our way out to Emerald for a geoart trip.Visited with my travel bug, but not big enough to swap out.
Found.A train just happened to pull out of the station while we were here. Something calming about a moving train....
Found it. More than one spot to look. No log but I put in a slip May need owner to check up on.
Vdy jet zenj a s divnm povrchem a absurdn nzkm zbradlm. Tady bych teda roadtrain potkat nechtla, to bych si asi cvrkla. I tak to s nimi bylo dnes tk. Je neuviteln, kolik vody na tebe ten kolos v silnm deti hod. S vodou na silnicch tu vbec maj problm, mostky jsou dsn a odvodnn silnic asi nevedou. Vude stoj kalue vody a taky maj vude npisy Cesta me bt zaplavena ! No, to si rd pete, kdy po n jede a pr... Today I had the last part of the journey from the inland to the east coast along Capricorn Hwy. A total of 680 km and the last 150 of them in torrential rain. I arrived at the hotel totally exhausted. I also found a few caches along the way. I think I wrote yesterday's date everywhere today. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Czech republic.
Thanks lost 2 found, pretty lucky to pull up and grab a cache and see a train go passed.RVCL.
Took me a little while to decipher the hint! I found it where the hint says, but not left of the gate. Very cute find.
Whole staying with family in Bouldercombe, we decided to head west for a drive to Blackwater and Bedfird Weir. On our way home we stopped at Bluff to catch up with my brother who works at the Bluff Mine and let the nephews watch a train. TFTC
It certainly felt like a mining town with the coal trains passing on the adjacent railway. A quick park and grab, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks lost 2 found for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, a full travel day was pencilled, driving from Gayndah to Emerald via Biloela.I started the day visiting the towns lookout before attending the local parkrun. Well and truly warmed up, I closed out my Gayndah visit with a drive up to the lookout and then visited the [Upside Down Bridge](https://coord.info/GC8ZMQ3) in the town across the river - an engineering masterpiece!I tend to be far too slow in my travel days morning, perhaps stopping at geocaches more than I should, although I enjoyed my visits to various towns. Perhaps at the hottest time of the day, I hurriedly hiked up Mt Scoria, and the basalt columns were impressive.I had lunch in Biloela and completed the [Biloela My Home Town](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/af82ce36-2dcf-4ff3-ab59-75a503cad4f2) Adventure Lab, and then I decided to take fewer stops to then arrive in Emerald just as the light was fading. Post dinner, I tried to find a few more town geocaches, visiting the botanic gardens to the south, and more of the Emerald cotton geoart.
On a slow, meandering trip out to Longreach for the QOGM 2023 event.

Loved this cache, really cool find and cool to see the trains as well, nice spot to stop and have a sandwich on a long trip.
Stopped here just as a train pulled up.
Great fun for Boot who loves trains.
Found on part of our ‘north for warmer weather’ trip from North East Vic to Central QLD via Curtis Island! Todays leg Gladstone to …. maybe Comet- depending on weather.
Thank you to all the COs who maintain the caches along the way.

We are heading from Rocky to Emerald today. Stopped here just in time to watch the coal train go bye.Signed log and returned cache to its hide
Staying in Blackwater for a couple of nights to explore the amazing tablelands NP nearby. We found the lid attached inside the fence capping as others had as well, but we just happened to have a replacement available in the car. Hopefully this helps the cache stay in action for a bit longer.
Found part of the cache - missing the end part and log book. Found with SweenyX5
Not able to sign log. Missing cache. The owner might want to have a look at this one. TFTC
Unfortunately wasn’t screwed on properly and it has fallen off inside the post a
As luck would have it, a coal train was already travelling past when we pulled up next to GZ. Thanks to the hint it was a speedy find and we had signed and replaced the cache and returned to the car before the train had finished passing by. Thanks lost 2 found
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 128. Dingo to Emerald via Blackwater and Comet. Today was a much more civilsed day with a breakfast stop in Blackwater and an exploration of comet before pulling into the stop for the night in Emerald by lunch. I then headed to Fairburn dam for a few caches before a lazy afternoon.
I think the gate has moved, but the cache was found after working my way along.

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 10 was a drive from Emerald to Biloela collecting caches along our journey to break up the drive. All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise mentioned. Lots of interesting things seen along the way and some wildlife thrown in for good measure.
Thanks to all the CO’s for the placements and keeping this hobby alive.

The Welcome sign has gone but it was easy enough to see where it once was.

On our way home and after having been diverted from Birdsville because of flooding this is the way we needed to go to get home. The countryside is a total oasis currently everything is so green. A nice hide sign missing now. Thanks lost 2 found
After a great late afternoon picking up the caches in Blackwater we decided to spend the night there and have a few quiet ones at the pub.
Today we had a leisurely drive towards Rockhampton planned picking up caches along the way.
This was our first cache for the day and we pulled up to a find a frame but no sign. We were really hoping that the cache wasn't on that we started our search and happily not too much later we located the well hidden cache and added our name tot he log before returning everything as we found it.

A quick find here. We also found some treats at the petrol station and came away with some relishes and salami/metwursts. TFTC.
On a road trip with Swearah and jodsta83. We are slowly making our way home while grabbing a few caches on the way.
Lucky for us we had a previous finder with us so we could drive right up and make a super quick easy find.
Thanks

Nearing the end of a geo road trip with swearah and stephyy. Having a previous finder in the geo mobile we were able to drive right up to this onewhere stephyy made the grab. Tftc lost 2 found ️
A stationary train blocked our view today as another blew past on another track. They are quite frequent along this track as we have seen 4 already moving along since leaving Rockhampton this morning. Quite the sight indeed!
On our drive today from Emerald to Rockhampton, we took a short break here in this town.
Hopping out of the car we were reminded of how the air conditioning had been keeping us cool as it was quite a difference to inside the car.
Crossing the road we headed to GZ, and noted that the sign which should say “Welcome to Bluff” is now missing. nonetheless, we found the hide very quickly and have added our name to the log.
Thanks lost 2 found.

On my way to Blackdown National Park, I stopped off here to stretch my legs. This cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
A super quick find thanks to the hint. The sign is missing at the moment but the frame remains so I’d say they are giving it a little touch up.
Thanks for the cache, lost 2 found

Quick easy drive by find. We’re heading back to Brisbane after a trip to the Hay River Track in the Simpson Desert. Long day today of almost 600km. Almost at our destination. TFTC

Mr Ski is enjoying watching the trains coming and going as we travel along the highway. The last one we saw was slowly having it carriages filled from the large coal storage on the other side of the highway. A quick easy find thanks to a spot on hint.
We left Emerald this morning to continue our journey north chasing the warm weather and the elusive yellow smilie. Glad to report that today we found both!
Thanks to all the CO’s for providing so many caches along the way for us to find. We appreciate your efforts in showing us this great country. Taking us to places and showing us sights we would have otherwise missed.

A big trip from us from Brisbane to Hervey Bay to Gladstone to Emerald (this leg) to then Roma and Chinchilla and Brisbane. Eight straight days of 9hrs plus caching for Miss10 and Mr8. They have done really well even though we are all exhausted.
Big hint. Log book full, so replaced it. Sign is no longer there, just the posts.
