We walk along the boardwalk down from the singing ship. This is one of the best war memorials I have seen. So much time and effort has gone into providing so much interesting information about the sacrifices made by our troops back then. Thanks for bringing us here

It's a really good memorial here, an interesting and lovely display to remember in a nice location.Today started in the lovely town of Yappoon. I was surprised at its size and popularity, but worthy as it is a nice place I'm pleased to have visited. We spent the best part of the morning exploring coastal caches, esrhcaches, a virtual and adventure labs which saw some great locations.Back into Rockhampton to complete the adventure lab in the botanical gardens with a few caches while there. I quite enjoyed the gardens, a nice area although not so caravan parking friendly but we managed!Leaving Rockhampton, iit was out to Mount Morgan for an earthcsche, an AL and more caches. The mine was an incredible site, such an old mine with its buildings and chimneys, a nice town too. A short travelling day, despite hoping to cover some ground, we stopped in Dululu early, a free camp in town had us spending the evening around a campfire with other campers. Thanks for your cache.

Wazza and the Wench are touring QLD for a couple of weeks. Driving from the coast out to Longreach then, without a definite plan, driving back to the coast.Today we're wandering around the Yepoon area but caching is taking a back seat for a few days so we can enjoy the coastal beauty. We did stop at this cache for a while and enjoyed the walk along the walkway and the impressive work done to commemorate the Anzacs and all those who have served.Thank you, Temingi, for this cache.#4327. The next stop for the day was Emu Park (after passing a big whale). We visited the Singing Ship and Sandra and Catherine recreated a photo pose from over 40 years ago. We wandered down the hill to the Anzac memorial and spent some time reading the boards. As the family headed into town for lunch, I popped across the road to collect the required information.---Over a week ago we made a trip up to Yeppoon to visit family and some of the big things dotted around the state. On the way we stopped off at Noosa Heads (big pelican) and Maryborough before staying in Hervey Bay (big whales) for a couple of days to break up the journey. Whilst in Hervey Bay we went out on a glass bottomed boat and explored Big Woody Island and Round Island. Onwards again and we visited Childers, Gin Gin and got stuck in a crazy tailback a few kilometers from Miriam Vale (big crab, big donut and big Magpie). It would have been rude not to pick up a cache or two on our journey North. We visited Great Keppel and did some snorkeling (and Jack spotted a large sting ray), Emu Park to view the Singing Ship, Rockhampton (big bulls) to visit the zoo (which I wasn't too keen on) and just about every restaurant and coffee shop in Yeppoon. It's a lovely part of the world. On the way back home (boo) we visited the caves at Cania Gorge and stayed overnight at the retreat and then on to the Three Moons Silo Mural, Gayndah (big orange) and then onto the Bruce and straight back home.Thanks!!#3510

Departed Melbourne many weeks ago now and have been travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully Smile), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel.
Finally made the northern warmth and the Cape and we have loved every minute of it Smile now we are on our way home again and having many more adventures as we slowly travel south.
Today, we a rest day looking around Yeppoon and surrounding area before heading south again Monday.
What a magnificent tribute to those that sacrificed for our country, one of the best I have seen in my travels
**Thanks for placing this cache Temingi**

A challenge by HQ was the reason for this trip, and I guess a few DT targets, hopefully, as it’s a long drive down from Townsville.
Nicely placed virtual. This visit to Emu Park certainly made up for the long drive down. Spectacular coastline as well as an amazing memorial to soldiers past and present as well as a visit to the singing ship leant to a fantastic morning.

Always great to get a rare virtual when they are around. This is a very informative and well-done war memorial.

I was fairly impressed with the setup here, and it wasn't just the traditional memorial setup around the obelisk, but the walk nearby with modern touches and transparent graphics from overlooking the beach, i.e. "their name liveth for evermore". I managed to collect the answers from the two questions at the obelisk, and sent them to the CO for validation. Thanks Temingi for the virtual cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A Favourite Point for bringing us to this location, and I only wished that we had more time to explore the area further.

----------

A North Queensland road trip of 2.5 weeks had Team Warren consisting of [jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T), 15-month baby and I, spend a Cairns Christmas with family, followed by a coastal drive back to Brisbane, marking a total distance of 5728 km.
Departing on 21/12/2022, Dad and I took the expedited drive north via Toowoomba, Roma, Emerald, and Chartered Towers. During our Cairns stay, we visited Green Island, inner Cairns and the lagoon, Port Douglas, and Atherton Tablelands. We then commenced our drive back from 28/12/2022, making stops in Mission Beach, Townsville, Ayr, Airlie Beach, Cape Hillsborough, Mackay, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Seventeen Seventy, Bargara, Bundaberg, Childers, Harvey Bay, Maryborough, Gympie, and Eumundi, returning home on 7/01/2023. Highlights included hiking Walsh Pyramid, visiting Townsville's Museum of Tropical Queensland, seeing the marvels of Capricorn Caves, kayaking Ross Creek, and swimming and frolicking in the many beaches and water playgrounds.

Today, it was an early morning start to travel to Yeppoon and kayak Ross Creek and Yeppoon Creek. A solo expedition on an enjoyable river system, and then I returned back to Rockhampton to meet the family. We then spent the afternoon in Emu Park and Yeppoon hiking targeting a couple of oldie and special-type geocaches. In the heat, we hiked in Bluff Point in Capricorn Coast National Park, followed by Double Head, and then had lunch and a play in Yeppoon's water playground. In the evening, we closed out our Rockhampton with a walk in the centre and along Fitzroy River / Toonooba.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 119. Rockhampton to Yeppoon. It was a very shot day today, so I did the caches along the main road into Yeppoon, and then stopped for morning tea. I still had way too much time so went onto Emu Bay to get a Lab cache for the day. After setting up camp and rectifying some online issues, I went out for a few dusk caches near the area I am staying.

After walking up to the lookout for the Lab, I came back down here and after a short discussion with the mower man, I collected the requited information and have sent it as requested.

Thanks for the cache Temingi

We needed to deliver a puppy to Rockhampton, so I packed PirateLinda into the front seat, and Hercules in the back and we set off from Brisbane at 4am this morning…

Having successfully seen Hercules off on the next stage of his journey to a cattle property west of Sarina we had the afternoon to cache around Yeppoon and surrounds…

The plan was never to visit Emu Park…. But then I spotted this virtual… so a detour was made…

After collecting the required info, we spent some time in the memorial, both agreeing it was a well constructed memorial with a real personal/local touch…

Thanks for bringing us to this interesting location…

We decided to spend an extra night in Rocky and try our luck at the Cry series and then finish off the CQ Adventure before heading for a couple of earth caches in a bit of a loop and anything else that popped up on the screen.

This would have to be one of our favourite caches that we did today. It's great to see memorials to all the different conflicts and all the other information that was around this area. We spent quite a bit of time here reading the plaques and story boards feeling so grateful for these men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we could live in a country like we do today.
The answers were collected and have been sent off to the CO.

Thanks very much for the cache, a favourite point from us.

We arrived back from Great Keppel Island on the late ferry in the rain today and decided on a little scenic drive before heading to Rockhampton for the night.
This looks like a great ANZAC memorial. We had a little look around but unfortunately did not have enough time to read everything. The RSL was very busy but we managed to get the information we needed without a fuss and especially as it is near ANZAC day, I suppose it is not unusual for people to be examining these sorts of monuments closely.

This morning we drove from Rockhampton to Yeppoon. We decided to take a less direct route and head via Emu Park.
It was peaceful and the weather was beautiful. We parked not too far from GZ and took a walk through the area before heading to this virtual to seek out the answers.
Today the water was a deep Aqua, perhaps more so because of the breeze.
There were a few families at a nearby park, and a few gardeners at work pruning the hedges near GZ.
We took our time to visit the artwork close to the water and then headed back towards the area that held the information for this virtual.
We have sent our answers to the CO.
Thanks Temingi for highlighting the role played by many locals here in the pursuit of safety and peace for our country.
