You pwned us n00bs.A terrible disaster. Rail crashes tend to be like that. We will return.Look look look. You are only as good as your next find.Nothing. Even with a previous finder who confirmed Id had a good look where the hint suggests. Thanks and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

What a sad tale, but fortunately, some good came about as a result.Everyone deserves to live to go home at the end of their working day. Thanks for the cache. No muggles about, just myself, +Wife and EveTheStaffy. It was great to catch up with you all this morning.

On my way up to Beaufort for ChooknChuncks event today. Id carpooled with Sol De Lune and arrived early for the event so had some time to get a few caches. I was able to visit this cache this morning and with the hint, I was able to walk right up to it. Having a look at the description. I learnt a lot about this awful disaster. The photos really show how damaging the accident was. Thanks for this cache and the historical knowledge.

17:07A train trip to Beaufort to celebrate a massive milestone (and Blue Switch Day), a couple of bonus caches in Ararat courtesy of our gracious hosts, and a tasty pie for lunch. That's a pretty good start to today's shenanigans. And now for a walk (mostly) around town.A walk which, after eleven klicks, finished right by where I need to be, with about half an hour to spare.Finding this cache didn't use up much of that time.I love a cheeky hide, especially one of those proportions. Thanks, chooknchunk, for the cache, today's fun and the information. Of course, maybe it's not that smart to think too hard about rail disasters just before getting on the train home. I'm sure my modern passenger train will get me home safely. It'll definitely be a quieter trip than this morning's...#8843

Working backwards in the order we found caches this arvo. Had a chat to the guy manning the station museum, saw the V line bus and the train pull in to the station, photographed the mural, then went round tothe goods shed to grab this cache. All good here too. TFTC.

A quick stop for snacks on our way home from Halls Gap and I made the slight detour to pick up this cache. A nice quick find at gz with nobody around. An interesting, if not happy, piece of local history highlighted here and the pictures included give an idea of how serious it was. Thanks for the cache chooknchunk.

Peppa had a plan! Beardman75, Peppa and I have come to Ballarat to cache until we drop, its day 3 and its far from over. We have completed the Ballarat Geotour, which was our main target for the trip, so have the rest of the day to go where the wind (or BM75) takes us. We are enroute to a special oldie out west and after refuelling we stopped in here to make a quick find. Tftc chooknchunkFind #5284

Stopped by here for a nice quick find at 14:25 after a bit of late lunch in town. Hmm, it looks like Alsume *is* going on tomorrow's walk. A nice large cache, well hidden but not too difficult with an interesting back story. Sounds worthy of a fave point to me. Big GrinTNLNSL. Thanks chooknchunk.

After attending an event nearby this morning as part of the 2023 Cache Crawl roadtrip I decided to look for a trad or two.
This was pretty close so I made my way to GZ where the cache was easily found using the good hint. While I was signing the log BackPAQer and FMH1977 arrived. Can we count this as an additional event Smile ?!
Thanks for sharing the story and the cache, chooknchunk.

*******

Today I managed to attend all 10 Cache Crawl events; stopped for a parkrun at Beaufort, found all the relevant lab caches, found a few other caches along the way, drank many coffees, ate many pastries, chatted with many good friends, and had a very enjoyable time.
Covered 350km from Ararat to Ferntree Gully, for a roundtrip total of 600km which was very similar to the 2022 Cache Crawl distance.

Merry Cachemas!!!

It was a weekend of Cachemas celebrations and lots of traveling. After stopping in Ballarat overnight it was off to Beaufort for lunch before heading south to the Bellarine for a CITO and dinner, with a few caches inbetween.

A quick stop here on the way to the event. A stray cat was interested in what we were up to.

Such a tragedy here.

Thanks chooknchunk for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

It’s cachemas time! A weekend full of events, citos, catching up with friends and turning caches into smileys.

As we were searching for the cache, I turned on the tap to see if it was real. Yep, it's real!
Next minute, a small tortoiseshell cat appeared. I figured she must've been thirsty, so added a little more water to the puddle for her to enjoy after we'd left.
Discovered two TBs.

Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, chooknchunk

Making the long trip from Melbourne to Adelaide and breaking up the trip with rest stops (and some caching). After grabbing lunch in the shade in Beaufort, I make the small journey to the train station and parked next to the posted coordinates. With no-one around to bother me, it was a nice quick find here. Quite a smash. Quick find here.

November 2022. Time for the second Victorian Mega of the year. This time in Whittlesea. What is it with W's? Time for another epic road trip. Who will join our merry crew? We traveled from South Australia and camped in the pig pen. It rained. It blew. It was sunny. It was not sunny. All four seasons. Beautiful location and some awesome caches.

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Once again, behind schedule, and minimal time for caching on the Melbourne to Adelaide drive. I picked two caches in Beaufort to coincide with a pause in the rain.

I wasn’t aware of this sad story before, and I had never strayed far enough from the highway to get to the railway line before either. A quick find at GZ without anyone else around.

Thanks for the hide chooknchunk.

Today we had a leisurely start in Beaufort getting ready for our trip back to SA. The Junior colts were well into their game before we left the lake side caravan park.
Off to Waterloo for a few caches and AL. Then off to do the musical wherigos which we had so much fun solving last night whilst drinking a lot of wine and singing along to Jimmy Barnes.
Quick lunch at the footy oval before heading onwards to Taylor’s Lake for our last night camping, the serenity here is lovely.
Plenty of caches found during today what a bonus and still no rain to spoil our trio how lucky are we?
Thanks to all the CO for the great hides and the Victorian cachers foe looking after the hides my SA counterparts could taje a leaf out of their book.
We liked this one very audacious TFTC

Today was a family trip to Ararat, a quick dash up, and a leisurely caching drive back. Seven caches in all! We have just about got our systems firmed up for a "seamless caching experience!" This was a fun cache, we almost drove into it. (One only should look at the GPS, the other should drive!) Left a geonickel, one of the last red ones. TFTC

Found and signed with dalerious in-between 2 events being held here. This is my first visit to this town, and there was one mystery in particular that I was longing to find and sign Big Grin. Can't wait to get back here with locus cache and sign the logs for the wherigo's Cool. Hoping the CO's are free for a catch up on that day.

This was one of a few caches we diverted from our focus to look for.

Our last hurrah in the Ballarat area was a trip out to Beaufort to look for the music based wherigo series. We particularly enjoyed solving these as the music was from our time and many answers came easily and had us singing as we completed the cartridges. We have to admit to using google quite a bit on the more recent featured however. The 60s, 70s and 80s certainly were a golden time for music.

All logs signed as SKI Pair or RASP.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache chooknchunk.
