Pulled into town. First on the list. Have been to Glenrowan for re-enactment of his life. Quick find. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks Liz and Bruce. All good with this cache
Cache of opportunity. Stopped for a photo. Got a cache.Ha haSigned as The Roos. Here with kiwisteve2 drobbonz and kimmy533 at the Doon Villa SC RV park for a week before heading north.Really enjoying the area.Tftc
Thanks Liz and Bruce. Wondering why Ned is so far north? I saw the one in Glen Rowan earlier on this year!
Been enjoying the days of caching as the day starts to warm up a little. Cache located and signed. Placed as found.TFTC
Quick find on the way out of town. It will be a slow trip home at this rate, stopping for caches! Don't know what Ned's doing in QLD though!TFTC
As we finalised our time on Maryborough's south side of the Mary River, we visited this location, and the cache was a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. A fancy fellow! Funnily enough, we were saying on our first day that there should definitely be a cache here, and indeed there was! Thanks [Liz and Bruce](https://coord.info/PR68BB) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------During this trip, I travelled with [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) (who was visiting from Adelaide, SA) and we visited Maryborough for an extended weekend.Friday was the drive north, which involved the full day with stops in Nambour, Eumundi, Pomona, Gympie, Tiaro, and Maryborough, and highlights included the *Evil* series and the *Big Aussie Day Bash* series. The weekend's two days prioritised the *Jolly Brolly Folly* (JBF) series and *Geocaching 101* series, with a Sunday afternoon trip to Utopia Falls. Finally, Monday's itinerary included a few last geocaches that were in town, and we then returned home via Beaver Rock, Maaroom, and Tin Can Bay.A fun and rewarding trip with great company and friends, and we were rewarded with good weather throughout our trip.Today, it was our final day for our Maryborough trip, and [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) and I had final ambitions for a few remaining *Big Aussie Day Bash* series geocaches that we had yet to visit, and then circling back through town for one last time. We enjoyed seeing Queen's Park and had a late morning tea, and it was on to the Beaver Rock series. A few interestingly themed geocaches using our TOTTs, and then we returned home via the eastern ocean route before going through Gympie. There were a few interesting seaside towns visited, such as Maaroom, Boonooroo, Tin Can Bay, and Cooloola Cove.
Driving past we commented that there had to be a cache here. And there was.So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them.Freddo traveled north from deep south to catch up with friendly Liz and Bruce and the RV Home base crew. David Wazza provided a sturdy vehicle and we traveled in style. We had good weather. Not to hot. Not to rainy. Lovely one day and perfect the next. The caches were found in a blur of Which Is Next and Where Are We Going Now. Some caches were harder to find than others. Some caches we could see from the car. Regardless all caches were found in the last place we looked.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos ktkst. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas. A most enjoyable long weekend spent in the company of La Kedi and The Marble exploring the Maryborough area and collecting a wonderful variety of cache types and hides. Thanks for placing and maintaining this one Liz and Bruce
Popped up to Maryborough with La Kedi and DisSister to do some power trails this weekend. A great way to spend our time this ANZAC weekend. TFTC
Found on a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious weekend collecting umbrellas and others over Anzac Day with DisSister and The Marble. While stopped in filling up with petrol, we popped over and made a quick find of this cache. We still can’t figure out what Ned is doing in Maryborough, though.TFTC, Liz and Bruce. =^.^=
Another big day out in the Habanero Sport with Patrol14 & TMZ59…The plan/idea/couple of thoughts strung together, is to try and clear the map between Tiaro & Maryborough…
Seems like Maryborough was the place to be over Easter, couple more cachers and it might have been a Mega…
The recent DNF drew us here… Patrol14 was willing to feel Ned up more than me…
Thanks Liz and Bruce

3.38pm.
Out for the day with Peppa and TMZ59 and are caching around Maryborough and surrounds to find a few more caches.
Saw NED on our drive around so had to stop and have a look. Let my fingers do the searching and touched something that moved. Ah there it is!! I was more touchy feely than peppa.. cache returned as found.

Nice hide. Lots of muggles. Back in Maryborough area to grab some more caches. Out with my Geo friends, patrol14 and Peppa. What a lot of fun today has been. TFTC
Visiting Maryborough for a couple of days and finding as many caches as possible with Snickersallan and GrannySmith1947. My first visit was fruitless so contacted CO for a clue just in case I had time for a return visit before I headed home.I did have a bit of trouble searching but eventually found it, log signed before replacing it as found. TFTC
Visiting Maryborough for a couple of days and tried to find this one last night but no go so back today in the daylight and still no luck. Maybe Ned had got sick of people looking all around in his personal space. I might have time to have one more look before I head home on Monday/Tuesday otherwise it will be on my to do list next time.
This area was always very busy during our previous visits in Maryborough, so we didn't tackle this cache. During our last stay it looked like closed, and we stopped. .
Yes, we found the cache, and we signed the log. And enjoyed a coffee break inside.

Up early at sparrowfart as usual so thought I venture the whole 39 yards to find and sign again.

If this isn’t on the list of big things in Australia, I’ll eat my hat. Only fitting that it had a cache on it. Cache hides well enough to. Thanks Liz and Bruce for the Cache
I am on a day trip to Maryborough and aiming to reach 700 today. This was my first find of the day. TFTC
Ned is going a bit rusty around the ankles. It took us a little while but eventually Mr Herbz put his hand on it. TFTC Liz and Bruce.
Accurate coordinates made this a quick find , all's good at gz . Thanks Liz and Bruce
Ned is our youngest grandson, but that is where most of the similarities end. A couple of minutes of searching finally revealed the cache.
Day 4 & 5 in Maryborough. We thought we would continue to look around town and spend our time caching here. It didn't quite work out as we thought as there were a number of caches in parks and reserves and we ventured wider as well. A good variety of caches and hides all in generally good condition. We had mixed results on a number of tree fishing attempts. Some we just couldn't spot, others we couldn't reach with our fishing pole. Will have to look at some further modifications when we get home! We did manage to get a couple though!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Liz and Bruce.

On my way from Canberra to North Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
Spotted as I pulled up. Good to not have to search long.

In the area with Selva Girls to do the JBF series and anything else that got in the way and this was one of them. We managed to find all that we attempted today and enjoyed the quiet country roads. Plenty of nice areas to stop and enjoy a break while having some fun.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

While staying the hotel behind and the town being flooded, we decided to grab a few caches in the area. We grabbed this one on before heading out to get some supplies which became a 45 minute trip into town. So, we set out to find this cache to turn it into a yellow smiley face.
While DFC and MummaBearr66 were grabbing the shopping bags Princess 1005 and JLK decided to walk down and start looking for this one. This super cute little beauty was in Princess1005’s hands within minutes, the cache container and logbook were in a good order, and we added our little ink mark to the logbook. By the time DFC and MummaBear66 brought the geocar down to us JLK began writing this log. The little beauty of a cache container and its logbook are perfect, nice and dry.

Found Ned’s cache but it is in a bad state. It was out in the open and the log so wet it could not be extracted with tweezers as it just disintegrated. I put a small piece of paper in and signed it. Will need a look at by CO. TFTC Liz and Bruce.
Relogging found caches under the name Bonkersandshush to my other accountGAZKERSH.Thanks.Nice quick find driving through
A big morning out on the bike doing most of the Geocaching 101 series. A rest for a few hours and now another quick pedal around.
Unlike some other local spots it was nice and quiet here. I think the servo was closed. Parked the bike at GZ and used it as a reason to be fossicking around. Got lucky and started the hunt in the right spot.

On our way home now after exploring Maryborough for a day and night, we made a brief stop here for a look. Luckily it seemed the servo was shut and no-one at the motel to notice us.

TFTC Knew this had to be on metal somewhere but with poor old Ned's steel frame deteriorating it was well camouflaged. Granddaughter Harper found it.
First time that we spotted Ned Kelly, but unfortunately too many mugglers around.

Saw this fellow on the way into town yesterday and thought what a good place for a cache. Yep, seems that was the general consensus.
Took a bit to find, but eventually got there. TFTC

Proof that Ned is a national icon, beyond Victoria and NSW. Well, a good choice of timing (no muggles or monkeys in the driveway), a phone camera directed at Ned and one of us posing (and finding), and if there was anybody working inside the building, their diagnosis must have been: silly tourists!
The magnet is now attracting more rust than steel, which adds to its camouflage.
Thanks for our final find in beautiful Maryborough!

Found at 11:34 AM GAFF3.
It is interesting that there are a few locations in Queensland that highlight Ned Kelly even though he never visited Qld. The only connection that I know of Qld with the Kelly outbreak was that Aboriginal trackers were sent from Qld to help with the hunt for the outlaws and incredibly there is a story that Dan Kelly escaped the burning hotel in Glenrowan and lived in Qld for the rest of his days.
Cache was well disguised, but no longer magnetic.
Thanks Liz and Bruce

Day 10. Today we left the beautiful city of Maryborough with plans already to return. We started our long trip home via many counties over three days - one county in Queensland and twelve counties in New South Wales. Tonight's destination way around the Lismore / Casino way. At least the weather was finally improving nicely. Fuelling up we spotted Ned nearby and decided on one more find here. Quick find at GZ for this one. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks Liz and Bruce !!
