A fun little puzzle here - walked along from the holiday park to get the numbers - great Art Gallery! Worked out the code & opened the mailbox! A bemused Holiday Park Manager watched us .. TFTC
Loved this Mailbox cache. Enjoyed checking out the Art Gallery then solving the puzzle with Juju54 TFTC
We were doing the Adventure Lab in Tambo and Mrs y'stassie decided it would be fun to get the information for this cache. So after lunch she set off to visit the Grassland Gallery where she met a very interested volunteer. After a longish chat that incuded a discussion of geocaching the volunteer joined her collecting the data needed to work out the code that would give access to the log book. After viewing the current exhibition she made a few purchases before leaving the volunteer exploring the geocaching website. Armed with the required data the code was soon at hand and we returned to the windmill. The sprinklers were on and we thought we'd get a cooling shower. We had forgotten that the water is artesian and very warm, a novel experience for us. The resident magpie was busily telling us off for disturbing its paddle in the pool that had formed around the edge of the garden bed. Finally we had the letter box open and our name in the log. We left the magpie to return to its warm pool. Thanks for this letter box cache RoddyC. This was a very enjoyable experience. We hope the gallery volunteer and her partner have a go at geocaching. We've added a favourite point to the cache .
Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Back to the east coast for an event in Orange (non caching) and then a great family dinner catchup. Now heading north to Townsville with Aquilus1 to get the Palm Island LGA. TFTC. Another busy day starting at Wyandra.Up to Charleville for power trails with letterboxes and puzzles. Managed a few Adventure Labs as well. The day finished in Tambo late at night.A great Letterbox that takes you around town. Nice one.
Took a 2nd time. I had the code but was focused on the AL and thought weird place for this object on the windmill.Travelling through. Enjoyed the chicken races.Signed The Roos.Tftc
As I was driving to Tambo after spending the night at Blackall, wanted to pick up a cache at Tambo and this was the cache. With some research it was found the gallery would be closed today and if we were travelling here on a weekday, we were too early. So some research and logic came up with a few likely numbers to try out on the padlock. At GZ while I minded the car, ESCR and Ardom made there way to GZ to try some numbers or to pick the lock. One set of the numbers worked! With the log signed, we were on the more again to the SE in drizzly weather. Cheers RoddyC for placing this letterbox.
Passing through a bit early to collect the info, but a bit of searching/ guessing and we could sign the log. TFTC!
With the art gallery closed today we hunted the internet! Took much much longer to work out than a visit to the gallery would have taken, but we had the time TFTC. Great spot!
Quick find on our way through from Blackall to Brisbane. Had the code figured out already. Tftc.
Was my good wife done the A L. I got to work sorting out the letter box. It was not too long before we had our stamp on the log.
What a great cache. Stayed here last night. Just a gorgeous town. Liked through the gallery this morning and collected the info. No problem with the cache.
Our last cache found on our way into Mitchell after leaving QOGM in Longreach.Found with icybeetas as we begin the long journey homeward.
This cache was found on the drive from Blackall to Mitchell on my return from QOGM 2023.Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for our challenge and enjoyment.
Loved the wind thru my hair here. Found on a sojourn all around during QOGM 2023 adventure. A fun jaunt with lots of dust, mud and starry skies. Thanks RoddyC and clear skies from TeamAstro. ?? Caching the area during Longreach QOGM 2023 with a great bunch of people teamed up with TeamAstro and Tenkae, often signing as TADJR. Just loving these outback trails, red dust, green foliage and blue skies! Thanks RoddyC for placing these caches, for bringing me here and contributing to this great game for others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside ??
I enjoyed my visit to the gallery, and gathered the four numbers as required before making the conversion to letters.I then returned to the posted coordinates aka [Final Location](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=1f90a592-e45b-494b-9fa1-097680dc4767&RefID=fa4152e0-fd06-4e88-b662-50300aa5817d&RefDS=1), and I had to deal with the sprinklers that were timed to water the garden whilst I scoped out the cache. It was a nice opportunity to cool down in any case. I had slight trouble with inputting the code, but it eventually unclocked, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [RoddyC](https://coord.info/PRC80AY) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, with Longreach QOGM finishing up, it was time to commence my two-day drive home. After making an early departure from Longreach following the [QOGM 2023 CITO](https://coord.info/GCAAHTW) event, I passed through Barcaldine, Blackall, Tambo, Augathella, and then finished up in Morven where the [Morven Major Munch](https://coord.info/GCAE0HW) dinner event was held. I made sure to see the historical sights like the woolshed scour, murals and drilling setup in Blackall, before playing through the Wherigos and finding puzzles and challenge trail. I extended my day after sunset, and completed the Murweh Triangle (MT) geoart puzzles from Augathella to Morven. It was a fairly full day in warm conditions, but the geocaches placed from previous QOGMs were enjoyable, and it was good to add Blackalls LGA to my statistics.Adventure Labs completed: [The History of Tambo](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/0c74ee1c-bb7e-46cc-b899-55918a0094d4); and [Augathella Art](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/a28da373-e575-4d0c-b1f2-14a832b17597).
Day 17. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my by way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.A wonderful stop in Augathella overnight and today we are on the home stretch with Longreach our final destination!A challenging letterbox. I would not have expected the posted coordinates to be at the final when information was to be collected elsewhere. This caused a bit of confusion to begin with. We eventually arrived at the gallery to begin searching. With more information to hand we returned to the motel and had a great chat with the gardener as we set about signing the cache. Thanks RoddyC for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you planning a trip to Victoria? Check out some of these caches on the nominees list for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards. The shortlist is available [here](https://coord.info/BMC8QYR)
Found with e.gregory1 on a trip through Broken Hill, Tilpa, Bourke, Cunnamulla, Charleville, Tambo, Blackall and Barcaldine to attend the QOGM at Longreach. After QOGM I travelled solo to Emerald, Biloela, Monto, Gayndah and Kilcoy on my way to Brisbane for a few days before a return drive back to Adelaide via the north coast of New South Wales, central NSW and the Riverlands. We spent two solid days of entertaining caching in the area around Charleville, Cooladdie, Augathella and Morven before heading along the Landsborough Highway to Tambo and Blackall. Thanks for the cache QOGM 2019 and RoddyC!
DAY 12The last leg of our journey to Longreach to join in the QOGM festivities after traveling 12 days zig zagging our way through NSW and visiting family on the coast. Teamed up with RoamingHowie at Coffs then made our way to Bourke and up into Queensland, caching and camping all the way. With only a few more towns to visit we should make it to our final destination late this afternoon. We might have mucked this up a few times, less said the better lolThanks RoddyC for the letterbox placement.
After a good nights sleep in Augathella it was time to hit the road and make our way to Longreach for QOGM, however, plenty of stops were made along the way to towns such as Tambo, Blackall, Barcaldine, Ilfracombe and bunch of other random locations to grab a variety of caches. Great scenery and experiences. This trip will be one to remember, especially since weve never ventured this far out before. Thanks for bringing us here.#3820 - TFTC
We had the lock sorted by the time we arrived so we went straight to GZ.
It was wet at the mailbox today... the sprinklers were on. Earlier when it was 6 degrees would have made the mailbox jaunt a harder decision but the day had warmed to 23 and an artesian shower wasn't a bad thing. A lovely spot for a mailbox though we did sign the log a bit further away. TFTC RoddyC.

Something special or unusual goes here:Came here doing the Adventure lab and actually got back to the car phone in hand and looked at the GPS. Back out of the car again this time with the GPS in hand and soon had the cache in hand just as a staff member came to offer some help. Clever cache. FP from me. [:X]The Generic Bit:QOGM adventure - I was able to catch a ride with Muff1 who were heading to the QOGM event and team up for 3 weeks of caching adventures. 3 weeks in a swag - will my back hold out[?]Day 7: Today we moved northwards again from Augathella to Blackall. I had solved many puzzles in the weeks leading up to this trip and today was another day that I could at least get a bit of return for all the time spent in preparation. Over 30 caches found and although I had a DNF as few phone calls whilst we did a week's worth of clothes washing paid dividends and that was able to be corrected before moving on. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks RoddyC for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 11. Well the trip was well and truly underway. I have never been to a QOGM before, and since this was the last one I decided to head up there for the fun. We continue heading north cleaning out as many caches as possible along the way. This was the next find of the day. A quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, usually as F65 A33, replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks RoddyC !!
This is my second letter box cache.
Love it. Thanks for placing your cache here.
Love the thought behind it all and combination also didn't see any stamp inside. Cheers

Accompany with DeafVW, DeafCat, and DeafPhantom. I am appreciative of them because they are young and have more energy and good equipment as I didn't bring Ladder with me.
Handy one of them can climb, so I just stood and watched.
Thank you for organising the cache and hunt.
Sorry about copying and pasting

We are now on our way to Longreach for the QOBM event next month. As we missed the big event here, it was now time to grab some of the caches around the area. Another big day today, doing some of the trails around the area. Today we have arrived in Tambo to explore the area.
Stopped off here and made a quick find, then it was working out the code.
Thanks RoddyC for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Doing the rounds of Tambo, a great little town, we picked up the letterbox puzzle, and also tidying up the last stretch of the Tambo - Augathella trail.

On the hunting trail with SeasonedBird while on a slow roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. After 5 days on the on the JPT trail (and still one to go) it’s off to Tambo for a couple of days to check out the Tambo Teddys and the daily chook races. Of course I’ll be grabbing whatever caches I can find along the way. After visiting the lovely gallery, we stumbled at GZ with an incorrect letter, but we were able to resolve and capture the cache. It’s a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

We got a lot of 'help' for this one....everyone telling us where it was, but no one knowing the code!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to get all the counties, or councils, or "LGA's"?....... well, I have learned the hard way, albeit quickly, to do the "hardest" ones first!
We could have just driven from Canberra to Perth to get the amount of kilometres, but instead we thought we would push ourselves a bit harder, drive a bit further.....and do the south west corner of Queensland!!
It has to be said now....Queensland is a bloody large state. I mean ridiculously large! We drove east back to Brisbane for almost three full days! Yes, we stopped for a series of letterboxes, and all of the 'county' areas, and even a FTF, but it was ludicrous!
After our flight from Canberra, and collecting our rental, we head off west from Brisbane, on a mission to collect every LGA we could get.
Aquilus1 lost her voice after the first day, which made the rest of the trip much easier for me....I had to do all of the talking, and it helped I could argue both sides of every argument....and I always won!
Outback town hotels and pubs are so cool, and I love stopping at them. When I started caching I was wary as I only knew city pubs, which are very, very different.
I tried many a schnitty, and the odd steak, pizza or burger.... this truly was the outback pub tour of Queensland.
The Qantas museum was a special highlight, as I am a proper Qantas fanboy......I have done waaaay too many miles on the red roo!

Gallery was closed but we worked through it to get to GZ where when we bumped into a local cacher. Nice!
Greyhams and I have been on a mission to see as much of Australia and visit as many of the LGA's as possible for some time now. This trip was Queensland, flying into Brisbane and a full 8 days on the road stopping for as many of the caches of interest we had time for as we passed through.
Leaving Brisbane northwest was our direction, as far west as we could go all the way to Birdsville. Of course, it is a Geocaching trip so it zigged and zagged as needed to cover the areas required. Yulaba, Charleville, Barcaldine, Ilfracombe, Longreach, Windorah, Birdsville, back to Windorah, Quilpie, Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, St George, detour to Moonie for a FTF, Wyaga, Warick and the home run back into Brisbane for our flight home.
Love the driving as we left behind the trees and entered red earth and sparseness, always a surprise though passing through areas of yellow grassy plains, although generally open flat land in all directions was what greet us. Wildlife was in abundance and never have we seen so much. Emus dominated for 1000's of km, cattle as we passed through their grazing lands, but also pigs in numbers we didn't expect. Echidnas, goats, horses, a giant goanna, foxes, and birdlife that does well on the overnight roo casualties. Still no camels though, they have to be out there somewhere!
The country hospitality was a highlight, great friendly people, Queensland hotels full of history and character. They all were great but the Wellshot in Ilfracombe needs a huge shout out for being the stand out of this trip. Leaving the car at Windorah and flying into Birdsville not only saved a day of driving but the scenery flying low over the countryside was spectacular and memorable.
Also memorable was waking up on the second day with the best case of laryngitis I have ever experienced... no voice, none! To top it, it lasted the full trip only returning by the end, I'm not sure if I pity GreyHams for having to deal with me squeak in an attempt to talk and silenced, or he had the best trip ever!
The days were full, either full of km's or caches but never dull with so much to see or do. The caching grounds are rich thanks to the QOGM events, it's definitely a great location to hold them. Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that helped guide us as we travelled through Queensland on a great trip.

Our first letterbox cache. Thanks for taking us to the Art Gallery. Easy find as staying close by. TFTC.
I have left town too early in the morning to get all information for the lock.

Grabbed this along with a couple of others on our trip through town today. The town was very quiet. Apparently they are granted a public holiday for Melbourne cup. But only a few towns- not all qld. Anyway a great little puzzle to break the drive. Thanks
This one had us recalculating our numbers and a trip back to the gallery. Got there in the end but the lock could do with a squirt of WD40. Really enjoyed this Letterbox

Day 11, not Day 12 as I originally thought, of the Munna Culla Snack Ninjas Hide your Sheep Tour…
Today was the day to collect any Murweh caches we missed, but having exceeded all our expectations, we’re in Tambo…
Firstly, Tambo is beautiful, and if I didn’t enjoy things like supermarkets, department stores, and visiting friends I’d consider relocating here…
We managed to drive every street in town today… some of them multiple times… as we chased Labs, Wherigos, multis, puzzles and an Earthcache… we still ran out of time, and will need to return…
It’s Sunday… luckily we came prepared and managed to gain access to the container…

Day 5 of my QOGM adventures with Willis007, Chamad and JACS as the Charli-Villians (caches signed as CVs). However, some caches we joined forces with a bigger group of people and to save space on the log paper and time in the field, we signed as Outlaws (particularly for the MT triangle puzzle series). We completed some caches around town, the MT puzzles, a trip to Tambo area and finished of things in Morven now that we had mobile phone service. Lots of fun, lots of laughs, lots achieved. When we work together, we work productively to get everything done.
An epic 500km adventure to complete the Murweh Triangle via a side trip to Tambo! They say there is safety in numbers and so again we teamed up and formed a convoy of 3 cars - this wittled down to 2 cars after the first leg as MrWindy opted to bring EagleEye09 back to base camp as she wasn't feeling great. I then jumped into the back of DiSisters car and on we went. Working together we logged all caches as 'Outlaws' or 'The Outlaws' for simplicity.
The lock was a little stuck, perhaps from being exposed to the harsh elements but we did succeed in adding our name to the log.

The gallery wasn’t open because we were here on a Sunday so we just did the bits that we could and luckily made an educated guess for the rest and managed open the cache. Thanks QOGM2019 and RoddyC
We are on a 2 month trip from Portland via the Mundi Mundi Bash to a wedding in Brisbane and then out west for QOGM in Charleville.
We have been in Longreach for a couple of nights and today we headed off for one night in Tambo before the main event in Charleville.
We are staying at this caravan to topup all the batteries and water before we get to Charleville. Two for one here.
Thanks for contributing to the fun RoddyC

We very much enjoyed our visit to the art gallery today.
The exhibition in main gallery by local Tambo artist, Rhondda Scott. Beautiful landscapes that reflect this area.
We collected numbers as needed, and although there was one discrepancy it was pretty clear what that was.
Log signed!
A lovely location for this letterbox hybrid.

TFTC enjoyed the gallery. Found the last question didn’t fit the combination but soon worked it out
We really enjoyed our visit to the gallery. Some lovely pieces of art in the main section.
Had no trouble finding our numbers for the padlock (but one of them was wrong). Perhaps we’re blind as we only counted 3 heavy metal tables in the outdoor entertainment area but having the first 3 letters worked out it was clear what the code word should be.
All good here with the log and letterbox.
Thank you.

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 7 with a change of direction for our trip due to road closures so instead for Tambo to Emerald we had to detour via Blackall and Barcaldine updated the GPS’s to collect caches along the way along with heaps of grey nomads towing caravans even a group of old vintage cars and motorbikes along the roads to contend with.
All caches were found along our journey that we attempted unless otherwise mentioned.
Thanks to all cache hiders for keeping this hobby alive and breaking up a long drive.

Made a mistake with our calculations but it was fairly obvious what it should be. Great cache.
Thanks for the effort.

Hmmm, it’s a Sunday! We were already disappointed as the shops were closed for having lunch and then I reread about the gallery. Fortunately they have good windows and I was able to get some of the answers and figured I could have a crack at the rest.
Parked up and gave myself 5mins, cracked it in 2! Yay for a letterbox!

Awesome to be able to work out the numbers
Thanks for showing us around Tambo
Travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.

Once we had done what was needed, GT37 and I managed to make a quick find as there weren't many muggles around. Thanks for placing this for us to find.
Papi and I did the work needed without any problems although we could probably both do with new glasses. Once at GZ, the find was made without any issues as the muggle count was low. Thanks for placing this cache.

Like all geocachers, I’m taking the scenic, slow route to Townsville. Along the way we detoured for, amongst many others, this geocache.
A great letterbox, I really enjoyed this one!
Thanks for placing the cache RoddyC, without hiders the game wouldn’t exist.

**This Cache:**
What an excellent cache! I really enjoyed this one, mostly because the art gallery was actually open (I have horrible luck with caches inside buildings - always closed!).
Not only that, but I really enjoyed walking around the art gallery! Given how quiet it was the lady was probably excited to see me walk in. So I had to explain geocaching to her and what I was looking for! She was telling me the answers as soon as I read them out before even counting! She didn't even know about this geocache though! Although I had to amend some of her answers once I got to the lock slightly, I didn't even double check them because she was being very helpful and I didn't want to look like I was doubting how well she knew the building! Luckily I was able to open the cache still after trying a couple codes!
Oh, thats not where the muggles ended though! This quiet town was obviously noticing my strange meander, as the managers of the motel came out VERY quickly when I started looking at the cache itself!
They also both had no idea what I was doing! They told me they the owners had changed hands several times since this cache was placed, and they had always wondered what the letterbox was for but never worked it out and just left it be! So I kindly explained to them geocaching, why it was here, that permission had been granted, and they seemed quite happy to finally know what the letterbox was for and they had no issues with it being there!
PHEW! Favourite point! Lots of things happened during this cache, probably my most muggle encounter during this trip!

**Today:**
Day 3 of my road trip heading towards Townsville in NQ!
After a pleasant camp in Wyandra, QLD, I was up nice and early once again!
The first goal of the day was the Wherigo cache in this small town, I was happy I was camping here as it was much too dark and I was too exhausted to attempt this cache the night before!
It was another fantastic day, picking up almost 30 caches before settling in a campsite just outside Barcaldine, QLD well after dark...!
Today was pretty exciting for me, to be deep in QOGM territory with wherigos, EC's and letterbox deluxe I was pretty spoilt for being in the outback. This meant an extremely long day though to fit them all in!

Hi there RoddyC.
We found your cache **"Mailbox at Windmill"** today.
We're full time grey nomads, currently avoiding COVID hot spots on our way to QOGM in Cunnamulla. Today we cached around Tambo . We had a great day and found 7 caches (and DNF'd 2) in a variety of container types and sizes.
Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache near where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log are in good shape.
PS: We only saw 3 metal tables in the entertainment area. There should have been lots more.[:(!]

Full time nomads since 2013. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Moving today with the caravan on tow. Stopped in Tambo for a short break and a bite of lunch. Managed to tackle 2 caches whilst here.
Agree with previous finders think the tables question is supposed to be about the table legs but like all those before us once at GZ the answer is obvious.

I think due to COVID the last clue is wrong. However if you can get the others it is pretty straight forward. I thought I had to leave it open as the lock jammed shut while still open but it reopened and I was able to lock it. Suggest if someone has some WD40 with them give it a spray to assist others. Been away for a week no mail here for me today
Day 2 of 8 (Tambo to Longreach) of a Queenslander road trip with Kestal, clocking just over 4000km, to tick off boxes for different challenges. While finding a couple of pre-solved puzzles this morning, Kestal received a call from our accommodation last night that she had forgotten something. The gallery was now open so we ducked in to get the required info on the way back as the motel was pretty much right at GZ for the letterbox. All good here. TFTC RoddyC.
Day 2 and the planned driving to Longreach was much shorter than Day 1 but the find total was higher as we travelled through Blackall and Barcaldine picking up some oldies and others of interest.
While grabbing a couple of caches on the outskirts of Tambo I received a phone call from the motel saying that we had left something behind . Good thing we needed to go passed before heading north. Because of this we decided to head to the gallery that had just opened to gather the information needed to open this one. A little hiccup with the code but we put two and two together to get to the log book and sign our names. TFTC RoddyC

It was great to find a variety of cache styles in Tambo, and this one added to it.
The gallery was not open today so we had to do our best to get the information we needed regardless by walking round and doing some peering. Fortunately there was no one about!
With this gathered as best we could we headed off to GZ. We had some problems with the tables but in the end managed to get by and sign the log.
Today we moved from our camp just north of Charleville on the Warrego river to Tambo. Only a short drive but with the opportunity to pick up some caches along the way. Once in Tambo we set up camp just out of town and then proceeded to work on the caches around the area. Some great points of interest and features and a variety in cache format.
Thank you to the COs for your work in developing and maintaining the caches.

Day 5 of our little driving holiday
Charleville to Blackall
didn't stop at all the caches along the way ... just a select few
and wanted to grab the letterbox at Tambo
but the gallery was closed, and all the signs were out ...
maybe they have closed for lunch [?],
we had already just had ours at the cafe' across the road
so had an attempt at the lock with the info we had collected ... nah
the new manager came out to see what we where doing ...
all good, she new about the cache - but not what was involved, or the combination required
so we detoured down Ward Road south of town
to grab a few of the completed jigsaw puzzles
whilst we waited to see if the gallery would reopen ...
a couple of caches later, back to the gallery ... still closed
(probably saved some money with it being closed )
back to the cache, tried a few more combinations with what we had
hey presto ... lock opened, then signed and replaced
really glad we managed to make a find here
so will give it a favorite too
thanks for the cache

My husband and I are on a road trip from Brisbane to carnarvon gorge and we are on the way back to Brisbane. We stayed the night in Barcaldine and today we are heading to Roma. We stopped here to buy a Tambo teddy and then for a cold drink at the pub. I left my husband there to go to the art gallery where I bought some beautiful earings and gathered the information needed. At gz it was a great find at another fantastic letterbox. . Giving it a FP FOR all the

Day 2 of my outback road trip - Mitchell to Blackall via Tambo. Arriving in Tambo around lunch time, I started work on some of the many caches in this wonderful town.
I had done some homework and had most of the numbers (thank you google), and was able to gather two other numbers on the fly. With the right code I was able to open the lock, retrieve the cache and sign the log.
As I was doing this, a fella wandered out and asked if I was ok. I asked if he was the owner of the motel, he said he was caretaking. After explaining what I was doing, he was happy with this and left me to it.
Thanks QOGM 2019 and RoddyC for the cache, a fav from me.

Today was the fourth day of my little journey to outback Queensland and a early start.
What a day!
I started in Tambo but with the rains coming down it did make it a little hard to cache, so a change in plans was in order. I grabbed a few in Tambo then headed up to Blackall and start a few around there. But with the rains here as well I could only grab a couple, with patches of blue sky further north I decided to head to Barcaldine and leave Blackall and leave Tambo for another time. I got to Barcaldine and it was also raining not as bad and in between the rains I got 1 or 2. I could see the rain was clearing out west further and big patches of blue sky, so I headed to Longreach, the roads were wet and flooded in places, but I was getting blue sky as I pushed on. As I passed a couple of caches I grabbed those only to find the dirt was now mud and super sticky, I was even sinking at a few stops, but in 4wd the dmax just eat the mud up and drove out, something about “go your own way”
Finally in Longreach and I had enough time to grab four caches and then turn around and head back to my original plan of being in Barcaldine for the night so as I could back track after the rains. A long day of driving but a rewarding one just the same when I collected “Endurance”, I think it is appropriate for today’s efforts.
I had no DNF's and All good with the cache's along the way and with it found and log signed I returned it as found, thanks for placing it here, I enjoyed the drive today.

Found on my solo camping trip north from Adelaide.
After spending the night camped at Blackall, I made my way to Tambo, essentially via the Heartland Wherigo series, picking up selected other caches along the way.
Although according to the signs the gallery should have been open, it wasn’t! So I poked around peering in the window and wandering around the back to see if I could gather the required information for the unlock code. The first three numbers were easy enough, but I suspect there may have been some changes to the number of tables due to Covid distancing requirements. However, with a bit of simple logic, I soon had something that turned out to be correct and was able to access the container to sign the log book.
Thanks RoddyC for the cache.

Wandered over to the Art Gallery to do the numbers, then sat out the front to work out the code word. Realised that something was wrong Seems that social distancing has resulted in the # tables out the back being reduced to keep patrons apart. Not a prob ‘tho as I had some letters and the solution seemed logical.
GZ is close to where I’m staying for a few nights, so scampered over and soon had the logbook in my hand Nicely done, dropping a FAVE point on this letterbox.

Tftc roddyc,
As the gallery has changed the number of tables to social distance we needed to think this one through.
Was obvious after the first 3 had been calculated

We have arrived in Tambo and set up camp on another hot day, along with ilook4geo. Today we went out hunting for some of the local caches. Each found cache had both names (or initials) written on the log and we tried to be quick as it was very hot - again. This one didn't open with the letters worked out, but came open on the second try after using a bit of logic. Thanks go to QOGM 2019 and RoddyC for this multi cache.
While camping at Tambo with goingplaces2, we went hunting for some caches on a hot day. It was very quiet in town. The padlock opened on the 2nd try. We had a good day and signed some more logs. TFTC.
