Logs
A quick find on a quick visit to Inneston. Planning to continue this section of the WTY trail in walking weather TFTC
Off on our annual birthday caching trip, Purrfect Di, Mattycat and Jack coming along for the ride...
This year it's cleaning out Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park time. Something I started back on new year's eve 2012/2013 with two of my sons!
Today for Matty's 19th (maths...cats...) , on the 19th, we found 19 caches... yours was one of them !
Continuing an enjoyable walk...
We are grateful to The X-Trailers for planning and maintaining this cache on our ever growing SA cache map!
---
Travelling all over wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck
Heaps of the luck stuff really !!!
*Most of the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course*.**
---
Beware ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!
[:o)]
The end. For now...

After an early start to the day in Edithburgh, we headed out on a coolish day with iluvtrekking to grab some finds in Innes NP and others a bit further afield. Thanks Earthlight
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
We set off early on a cold and cloudy morning with the threat of rain, which fortunately didn't eventuate. We enjoy the small towns, beaches, cliffs, history and ruins we encounter along the way. Thanks for your cache The X-Trailers.

We are camped at Yorketown to enable us to find a few more of the Gone Fishn' caches and while here we are picking up other caches that we have missed on our other trips to the Peninsular. This cache is in good condition and there was not a muggle in sight when we collected the cache. SL TFTC
Terrific stories of your POP and memories of those days bygone have made this series really interesting! Day 7 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its the first day it has not been more than a chilly brisk! The Innes National Park and it’s caches was high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
Staying at Mallee Lodge. Got up early on our last day there so we could walk this track. Really enjoyed an early morning stroll and a spot of caching and birdwatching. Thanks
Found while caching with Shonkylogic for the day. I came over to start on the power trails but this was a much more inviting thanks for a great trail and enjoyable walk. Cache in good condition.
Cheers and Happy Hunting

Out for a stroll with Southern Cross Caching around Innes National Park. We started walking at Inneston and cached our way back to Stenhouse Bay, following the old railway line and the fire trail spurs.
There was very interesting history here, I was only vaguely aware of the fact that a train used to run along here. It would have been interesting seeing it operating, probably not at shinkansen speeds
The houses around Inneston have been well preserved and it would be good to book one sometime for a stay.
This cache was found using a Garmin GPS 64s at 10:44:00 AM and was 4 of 28 finds today.
Thanks The X-Trailers

Short while later we found this neat cache. Love this area. No march flies today. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age. Time for a stroll back to the car.

This weekend, I headed to the Yorke Peninsula. The goal was to visit Innes National Park for the Saturday to find a few of the oldie geocaches, but also to enjoy a different vicinity for geocaching. I used Edithburgh to base myself for the weekend's activities. On the drive to/from Edithburgh, I visited Ardrossan, Port Vincent, Wool Bay, and Coobowie, and also visited as far south as Sultana Point and Troubridge Point.
Today, after participating in Edithburgh parkrun, I met gridge98 at Marion Bay, and we travelled through Innes National Park. We drove up to Browns Beach, and then made our way back visiting and hiking Royston Head, West Cape Lightstation, Ethel Beach, Cape Spencer Lighthouse, and the historic township of Inneston. With a few hours left before the Edithburgh dinner event, we separated and I decided to head north to visit a few Yorke Peninsula oldie geocaches. Following dinner, gridge98 and I walked from Edithburgh to Coobowie find the *Where Ancestors Walked By the Sea* series.
We walked around this old Inneston historic town, finding this cache as we passed through. This cache was found reasonably quickly, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks The X-Trailers for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A nice walk around this area today. The cache here was easily found and is all in good order
A quick overnight trip to the Yorkes for 1.5 days of solid caching. I did a bit of the geoart by myself before meeting up with Davidwazza for a majority of the day caching around Innes National Park. With an event in the evening in Edithburgh headed over there before going for a nice walk along the water front for the evening. Day 2 I made my way from Edithburgh along the coast line and back home by lunch time. A total of 169 caches for the trip.
Thanks for the cache

earthlight wanted to go to Cape Spencer lighthouse and Inneston today So yesterday she had kindly asked me to travel with her [:X]
We took my car so that I could take Rex[^] and left about 7.15am from my place and returned about 9.30pm[|)][xx(]
Throughout the day we saw gorgeous sights[^] under grey skies, then sunny skies and enjoyed watching the water change its colours as the sky changed its
Rex ran himself ragged on beaches chasing pelicans and seagulls and on dirt roads sniffing the scents of rabbits, foxes and roos
By day's end I had 1 DNF and 15 cache finds
Having just found a cache placed by earthlight, now I am finding a cache placed by The X-Trailers
Luckily my eyes just happened to see something and so earthlight kindly did the bending [:X][^]

Out discovering Innes national park. Trying to beat the afternoon showers. Took TB, TFTC
Love walking around this area, so many interesting things to see. Spooked a nearby emu and then found the cache. Dropped a TB too

After lots of travel over the past few months, I arrived back home in Adelaide on Monday from a short trip to Tasmania. However, after only a few days I was getting itchy feet again so thought it might be good to squeeze one last trip in before Christmas. The Yorke Peninsula looked like a good option, so I made a last-minute decision yesterday to head down there today.
I couldn’t believe my luck this morning when I got up and looked at the caching app and saw that there were a few new unfound caches that had been published in the past few days that were close to where I was headed. Whether or not they would still be unfound by the time I got there was another matter, but they were certainly worth checking!
I was intending to get down as far as the Innes National Park but wasn't in any rush. So after spending my day caching my way down to the southern end of the peninsula, and after managing a FTF on a nearby multi, I arrived at Inneston - the first time I've been back here for over 5 years!
It was quite a lovely evening, so I took a walk around the townsite and up to the cache before then continuing on to do the two nearby earthcaches. The cache was an easy find and I was pleased once again to find an empty logbook - my ninth *FTF* for the day!
Thanks The X-Trailers for the cache.

A little too far to travel today.
