A nice few hours caching west/southwest of Riverton searching for any caches not previously found by us.No Kitties spotted by us todayMany thanks for the hide gridge98
Today out and about on 223 of 274 days to get my daily cacher Emerald Using my Garmin Etrex 22X and MacBook Air!Thanks for the cacheTFTC
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state WA. Spending a few days in Nuriootpa to cache the surrounds. Loving the scenery that we pass as we move through the caches - this is our preferred caching - not suburbs. Drizzly day but the farmers definitely need it. Sticking to the black and the white roads. Sun check appears incorrect - should be 19 & 15. Thanks gridge98
Travelling with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching Trip. We are based in Nurioopta, doing a bit of sightseeing around the surrounding countryside using geocaching as our guide. The black & white tracks lead us to vaious GZ. Thanks for placing this cache.
Disappointed to have missed the kittens but Bear049 and I were happy to find one cache each at the same location. A few strange looks were exchanged before some simple problem solving occurred. Tftc
My compass point 15 metres to the South side of the road which I found the replacement cache from after the Mega event in Adelaide. In the mean time Detofinbars found the original cache on the North side of road as hint indicated. Stamped original logbook and also put replacement log together. Put back where coordinates indicated. TFTC
Nice find with woolwood9 today. Thanks for putting this multi-cache out for us to visit. SL *tm/ww NZ*Soon located. Found the good new container.
Over to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega Event with tmann421.Have done a few km collecting caches and have enjoyed the tour aroundThanks to all the cache owners for their efforts in placing and maintaining these for us to findSigned log tm/ww NZ
Today I headed out for my second day of caching back in Adelaide for the Mega. Allisterw was our chauffeur and JJ52 was the brains behind solved puzzles. We had a wonderful day out, the weather was splendid, lots of fun and a tasty bakery lunch. What more could any cacher want? Day only marred by one dnf and around 29 physical caches found. My thanks to all the hiders for contributing to this hobby of mine without you my life would be so dull!I remember all the who ha when this cache was hidden. Would you believe 2 feral kittens living in the stump? No we couldnt either. Given the inaccessibility of this one we placed a temp cache at the base of the stump. TFTC
After a full day at and around the Mega another day was planned with allister w and Michells&hound while she was back from Tasmania for a few days. The plan was that we would head up to Kapunda via an Adventure Lab in Gawler then picking up caches that we all hadn't found. We had a great day driving some cool tracks and finding caches in out of the way places. We even had time for a nice bakery lunch in Kapunda.Who would have thought...as we arrived at GZ we spotted a kitten getting into the stump and when we went to look for the cache there were 2 of them who seem to have made GZ their home. Couldn't get to the cache so left another one so we didn't disturb the kittens, or risk getting very scratched. Thanks for the cache gridge98.
Found with Michells&hound and JJ52 on a nice drive around the area. There were 2 kittens inside the stump. TFTC
Found it! First find of the day, the rain has stopped and the sky looks clear ahead thankfully! TFTC!
Day 4 of my Geocaching weekend away to do a maintenance Run on all my caches along the Murray River and surrounding areas. Today I left Tarlee and headed for home. I checked a few more of my hides placed a new one and found a few more caches along the way.Sorry for the generic log but trying to catch up on my backlog of found caches before the new year.TFTC gridge98
while wandering through the area on our way to somewhere else for a photo session we grabbed this cache

LOCKDOWN HAS FINISHED. I managed to miss 2 multi-cache days in lockdown so I guess it will be at least July 2022 before I complete that calendar. [:(!]
But to make sure it IS July 2022 I needed to find a multicache today. The usual Wednesday Wanderings of Befuddled got postponed due to heavy rain and was instead replaced by a Black Friday Frolic. 13 can be lucky for some as we were targeting a few old DNF's from the group and we actually managed to clear a few. Once again I was joined by Blackadders and S.A. Sewer Rats. So as usual there were lots of laughs and a chunk of stupidity! [:o)][:o)]
That was no feral cat - this is Mattycat Country. Grabbed some numbers, did some maths and got the checksum to work first time. No recount in case it doesn't work second time. Off to GZ where my com padres inform me that they have done this one. [^] Understatement Series #10! [^] I made a quick find in the obvious spot. Trackable out and geocoin in.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks gridge98 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

It was school holidays and I needed a break from school and chores and needed to just have some fun. I talked sir_spectre into joining me for a weekend away caching near Clare and Burra. We avoided the big towns and focused on the caches we normally drive past on the way to somewhere else. Any caches that needed some attention got it.
Thanks to gridge98 from mogni

No kitty's seen today. couldn't get the check sum to agrree but found the cache at the calaulated gz. quick find.
found with Mogni. Headed out in the general direction of clare and planned to clean out clare before the June Long Weekend End Event in 2022. As usual there was ALOT of caches found before then and only a couple of caches where found in clare before staying in Farrel Flat for the night. The next day was cleaning out Burra and slowly making our way home. Damn doing multi's takes so long, since the final has a habit of not being in the direction you are planning to go next. All caches that where found that were brittle or damaged were replaced and logs found wet where replaced, except for nano's. Nano's are evil spawn and you can do your own maintanence on them.

Full time nomads exploring SA. Today we moved up to Mallala, then headed out to grab a few newer caches since we were last here. Also managed to change 2 to making it a good day.
We found the cache okay but try as we might we couldnt get the checksum to work for us.

With only a half day at work today we had the afternoon to explore a few caches out this way, no kitties seen today, but after gathering the info and a quick calculation we soon had the finals worked out and the cache was soon found at GZ, left a trackable for the next finders

A great multi which was soon workout with the help of geo hubby Animal62 and BulletMuffin91. Then off to claim our smiley face for our maps after signing & dating the log & returning it back to its hiding spot.
It’s so sad to see so many abandoned houses around this area, such a shame to see them decaying.

A quick find and all in good condition.

Brad has injured both his hamstrings when a scoundrel tried to steal his bicycle. The thief was caught and when last seen was being loaded into a Police car to head off to the Poice Station to assist the Police with their inquiries.
As a result of these injuries Brad is quite limited in his movements and may be for some time. With well over 500 draft logs sitting waiting to be caught up on that has provide the excuse to got back and deal with some of these outstanding logs. They do go back some time and with 500+ it may take a while to get through them all. Apologies to any CO where Brad's detrailed memory of the find has faded a little.

Planning a drive to Hamley Bridge to surprise an old bud (yes, not that far I know, but add time from Happy Valley!!) .. and I'm sure there will be a few caches on the way!!! Wanted to add this one today, however, seems Maths is subjective. gridge98 suggests East coords add to 14.... David Wazza suggests they are definitely 16 and I have yet a different calculation. Having already passed MY GZ site, I kept on driving through until Owen for the night in the local. Cache get's to live another day.
Lesbos is a Greek island located in the northeastern Aegean Sea. It has an area of 1,633 km2 with 321 kilometres of coastline, making it the third largest island in Greece. Inhabited since the Neolithic period, the island prospered in the Bronze Age but was, being only 10 km from the Turkish coast, closer in culture to Anatolia than the Mycenaean civilization on mainland Greece. According to Classical Greek mythology, Lesbos was the patron god of the island. Macareus of Rhodes was reputedly the first king whose many daughters bequeathed their names to some of the present larger Lesbian towns. In Classical myth his sister, Canace, was killed to have him made king. It is believed that emigrants from mainland Greece, mainly from Thessaly, entered the island in the Late Bronze Age and bequeathed it with the Aeolic dialect of the Greek language, whose written form survives in the many poems of Sappho, amongst others.
The maths on the cache page to determine the cache location are correct and will take you the obvious cache location. No trouble there. Just ignore the checksums and the follow up checksums. And any other messages about checksums. They don't work. Just trust your maths.
The cache was actually found the first place we looked. Liked the swaps. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

During our new years break, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula to travel around the various coastal towns. We started the trip with Jeep trouble, but then continued in our alternative vehicle without 4WD to stick to the main tourist roads where possible. We travelled south-west to Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln via Whyalla, Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay; west across to Coffin Bay; and then north-west to Streaky Bay and Ceduna via Elliston, and Venus Bay. We then headed back east staying in Kimba via Poochera, Wudinna, Lock, and Darke Peak.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I finished our trip by driving from Kimba back to Adelaide via Nurioopta. We made a short stop at Port Augusta, and then travelled back south via Augusta Highway, and then left just after Lochiel through Balaklava, Owen, Hamley Bridge, Freeling, and Daveyston. We made it to Geostuff's 10th birthday celebration event, before finishing out our day completing the Adventure Labs in the area.
This had been one of our target caches for the day, as both [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I were big fans of cats and kitties, and this cache appeared to be our best chance for seeing cats around the place, after the CO had seen one near here. We visited the posted coordinates to first encounter a set of numbers in a different format to what this geocache wanted, but then we checked the other side to see something matching. We attempted to do the substitution and checksum, but like others have mentioned, we couldn't get the checksum to match 32. After reading a few other logs, we deduced that the checksum was incorrect, and so the CO should probably update the checksum to be:
Check sum = 18 + 16 = 34.
We then made the drive to GZ, where the cache was quickly found. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Unfortunately, we did not see any kitties today, and so we felt quite saddened to the CO's hype of kitty kountry around here. Thanks [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Today Bob from Elsewhere, FeatherWaite and I headed north from Adelaide to find some caches. We were mainly targeting multis, but also found a few puzzle caches and some Traditionals. We covered a fairly large area from Hamley Bridge, up to Clare, then back to Kapunda via Marrabel.
Most of the multis were short and quite straightforward and the puzzles had been solved in preparation beforehand.
The weather was nice and mild, which made for a great day for caching. Despite it being a public holiday, the roads weren’t too busy, there weren’t a lot of people about around most GZs, which made things a bit easier.
Thanks to all the cache owners for the caches.

Found with Bob from Elsewhere and e.gregory1 on a caching trip up to the Clare and Barossa Valleys, mostly taking the backroads in search of multis and puzzle caches, with an occasional traditional cache thrown into the mix. Thanks for the cache gridge98!
Find 3205
Today I was invited by FeatherWaite and e.gregory to join them on a trip to the Barossa Valley.
Little did I know that the intended route would be via Stockport, Hamely Bridge up to Clare by the back roads, joining the highway at Watervale. Then back to Kapunda via Mintaro, Saddleworth and Marrabel.
The closest we got to the Barossa Valley was the Sturt Highway north of Nurioopta on the way home.
From the back seat I was able to collect the required information, calculate and navigate to the GZ.
Thanks to gridge98 for the cache.

After some confusing mathematics where we also could not get the checksum correct we gambled that we had the correct answer with a Rat and an Owl. Yes we did get it right. Cache found safe and sound.Thankyou for the cache gridge98 found 23 September 2020 12:25
An Owl, A Rat and an Adder braved the elements and set out for a day of caching.
We gathered the numbers required.
Did our sums, but could not get the checksum to work.
Took a punt that we had the right numbers and set off to GZ.
The Rat scurried up to the cache.
A quick stamp and replace. Tftc

Despite some awful-looking weather, Owl bravely headed out for a caching day with SA Sewer Rats and Blackadder. The weather got better, then worse, then better, then... you get the idea. Caches were mostly found and a good time was had, despite getting slightly soggy. This was a quick calculation and a recheck as it didn't match the checksum and a recheck to make sure the CO can't add up and then a quick find.
A nice multi with a short drive. Found on our way home from finding a new nearby cache. Grabbed the TB TFTC!
A wander up past friends at Hamley had me with Jack in Kitty Kountry this morning, before going home to rest for night shift.
We'd done the sums and cheched the checksum a while back on the way to the Yorke, not too sure about that checksum, but we're cats, not mathematicians right [:o)]
Still plenty of evidence out here of the Pinery fires five years on.
Gets a fav from us, because it's a nice big container, in a great location, not a mint tin, not up a tree so no firemen rescues needed --- and about a cat
Of course this is Kitty Kountry.. It's god's own country and we all know Cats have been worshipped as gods since early Egyptian days. So it makes sense that it's the cat's countryside!
(It's also K Kountry - and we see she was up like a flash to get the first find ) Glad to see lots of cachers since coming here to pay homage to the almighty Kitty
Feral is such a harsh word [8)]
thanks for adding to our local caching map gridge98 Much appreciated
Stay safe. Cache at a social distance, five tabbies or one cheetah apart

I've heard a lot about this cache but now having found it, it just raises more questions than it answers. Also, maths is clearly not gridge's strong point, maybe he needs to outsource the checksum creation to someone who knows how puzzles work?

After quickly pulling together numbers and agreeing with the other fingers on the east checksum I was heading off to GZ. I must have forgotten to look out for Kitty Kats because I sailed right past GZ. Oops. A quick u-turn and I soon had the log in hand. TFTC
Out this way, sort of, so stopped for a simple multi to add to tally.
No kittys seem today, I did see a wrong checksum though... I concur with locus.
A quick find when got to GZ.
That will be the podium filled now...

Thanks

I once saw a feral cat around that location too. I wonder if it was the same cat?
Kitty Kountry indeed.
Kitty Kountry indeed.
Having a sleep in this morning[|)] and when I awoke at about 9am there was a new cache about 40km odd North of me
Rang one of the usual suspects and said 'if you're already there, I'm not getting out of bed'[^]
Almost 2 hours later and no reply[?] so I figured that I was safe to leave now[^], hence Rex and I started our drive on a glorious day more reminiscent of spring than winter[:X][^]
We stopped at Hamley Bridge for fuel and it's been a while since I've used a pump like that one
By the time we got home for tea we had 5 caches found for the day[^]
Rex had run about 5 or 6km on different dirt roads[^] so he was definitely tired[|)][^] and I'd laughed when I saw Otter61's name in a cache at Mallalla with today's date on it[?] Not sure who is stalking who lately
Arrived at starting coords and made a rookie mistake before realising that not everyone thinks in straighforward ways!
Found out that on this occasion, when I thought my head was messing up easy maths again, it was actually the CO[?][?] E check sum is: 15
Looked at where the cache was as I put coords into GPSr and then we headed for Kitty Kountry[^]
Found the cache easily although I did cop 3 ant bites at GZ so watch out for the 1cm long ants, they're busy there!
Great way to start a day with scenic paddocks of emerging green crops and a Woohoo! *FTF* too[^]

I’ve stumbled upon this new cache by accident; I wouldn’t have got a message as it’s more than 50km from home. Just happened to be in the area.
The other coincidence is that I just saw a feral cat while caching our at Grace Plains.
Cache still smells new!
Second finder at 15:50, thanks for placing Gridge98.

Usual suspect went South for the day.
Will make a nice nearby daily sometime this week
Thanks for adding to our map out here Mr Gridge
