In the McLaren Vale and Willunga areas caching today.Stopped by here for a quick find, stamp and returnTFTC
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Aldinga for a few days and ranging from there to grab some finds. Scored another beautiful day but the nights are still chilly. Thanks for the hide
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. Our last day in the area, then we continue westward. Thanks for your cache, we have loved exploring the area. LNCU
Spending a long weekend in the Southern suburbs which I havent visited very much since I started geocaching. So lots of unfound caches to keep me busy. The main theme was to target solved mysteries, highly favourited caches, caches requiring a TOTT, adventure labs and any other caches that I passed by.Interesting history to learn about at the posted coordinates. At GZ I suspected what I was looking for but it still took a pretty thorough search. All good here. Thanks for the cache ThielFinders.# # #14112 # #
After a DNF last time we came back resolved the coordinates to double check the returned for a quick find. Beautiful place for a cache!
Log book replaced. Thanks previous finders for letting me know it was full. Cache on!
I left my house at 6:45AM to attend the Willunga Picnic event.I grabbed a couple of nearby caches while in attendance.I had been down in the area with MotherGoldy and her Mum a while back. Mum wanted to check out the structure and signs at the given coordinates.I noticed the multi there and I calculated the numbers. I saw where the final was and wasn't able to get to it. Today, I was nearby and could make the find. I didn't see it on my first look, I had another event attendee point me in the right direction.I found it. I got my name in the very last free spot in the log book. A new one will be required. I signed the log as "Goldy".Thanks ThielFinders for this multi cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3922 on the 30th of January 2024.
Took us a while ... ended up going back over the first places we searched. I'm sure we checked there ... anyway log signed (there's only one spot left so log will need replacing soon). Thanks for the lovely little cache in a great location!
Found with Ismartis while on our day of caching hoping to get the next souveneir in between showers and downpours. Tftc
I decided to visit Willunga today and spent the afternoon wandering around looking for caches. This was my first stop. After a quick walk from the car to obtain the necessary information (interesting piece of history here) I headed to GZ. Luckily, I spied the cache pretty quickly here and added my initials. This week only two Befuddled Puzzlers headed southwards once again to the Aldinga area find solved puzzle caches and anything else that we hadn't got whilst passing. Today's it was just me and Blackadders. We also manage a couple of Lab cache series and one took us to an Aldinga Bakery which is where we ended up having lunch. Unfortunately a lot of caches were either missing or in need of maintenance. We did what we could but it looks like we will have to come back again soon.
I soon had some numbers and did the math. Cool - I want to go near there for another cache as well. Off to GZ where I did a quick circuit without spotting it. Is probably in one of those places so I let the GPS point to the most probable, sat down leant down and felt for it. [^] Woo hoo - first place I felt. But it is a nano so the rant is coming.
Bloody Nanos! Spawn of satan. Burn down the Nano factory, and exterminate anyone who sells Nanos. Every time you hide a nano God kills a kitten.
Did you every consider the kitten[?]

This was an enjoyable multi. Data collection was straightforward from an interesting site. With the final coordinates calculated, it was a short walk to GZ. It took a little bit of hunting before the cache was in hand. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks ThielFinders for an interesting multi.
Followed the prompts and got the location but couldn’t seem to find the cache
One of my first DNFs that has been bothering me since we started finally found! Much easier after a bit of experience.
As luck would have it parked only 45 metres from gz

This was a nice little multi to do and then find. We also had a comfort stop here, and yes we could smell the roses. A lovely spot to be brought to. Our initials were added to the log to save room.
Today I was out and about with my lovely caching buddies (and friends), Team Crackers, as they were visiting from Victoria. We were also joined by JessBurbidge and Lewis. We covered some kms, enjoyed meals, various adventure labs, multis, trads and mysteries. Lots of laughter and some creative driving at times It felt like life was almost back to 'normal' today, which was wonderful, and this was with the covid-safe measures we implemented.
Thank you for the hide ThielFinders, a fav point from me.

We were spending a couple of nights in Adelaide catching up with some friends and naturally we went out caching together. We met at our motel and headed off for the afternoon with Goodlook, Jessica Burbidge and ourselves to do a few lab caches and whatever else came along.
We came here and although the roses had nearly finished blooming there were still some very nice blooms to be seen. We collected the information and worked out where gz would be and headed off. The GPSr was pointing at a logical location and the cache was located in the third place we looked. To save room in the log we signed our initials GL,JB, & TC.
Many thanks Theilfinder for bringing us to the nice gardens.

Plenty of people out enjoying the sun this morning but no one to bother me at GZ. I am happy I did not have to kneel down to reach it as my knees would not have been happy with me found the pesky little blighter! TFTC

A planned day out caching with Mattycat deciding on an area we haven't cached in a while, Mrs frog and Sebasbat decided the day was to good to stay at home and joined the days adventure, after crunching the numbers GZ was in full bloom and a short search revealled the little cache

Woke up this morning and thought "what a lovely day to go caching"...
Took Sebastbat as part of the team, and found Mr and Mrs Froghoppin too.
Barossa and Clare do McLaren!
Headed south... and yours was one of them
Sniffed around a little until the little rosebud revealed itself. After the rains the sunshine now is bring out the roses both here and at home

Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...

Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

Loved the starting point of this one. Too windy for that heady rose fragrance at the end, but I did find a cache. TFTM ThielFinders. .
After a lazy morning recovering from a bit of a hangover headed out for a wee drive in the hills. Collected 16 caches for the afternoon. Was nice to enjoy some sunshine before the winter weather arrives.

Oh one of these, we do love them, unlike some others.
What an awesome WP!, we remember reading and having a look at this years ago and it amazing that it is so tucked away but perhaps that is what has given it its longevity. We soon had the appropriate numbers and off we went. We need to come back here in about six months time and enjoy the perfumes, nothing smelt today, well actually we think we could smell bacon or some sort of fry up, but definitely not roses.
After attempting to solve puzzles a multi cache was a relief, so we made the most of Willunga and only did a few caches so it gave us a purpose to set aside more time to revisit.
How to Take Care of Roses Caring for rose bushes is important to their overall health and vigor, especially when it comes to watering. Roses require at least an inch (2.5 cm.) of water weekly throughout their growing season, beginning in spring or following spring planting. While overhead watering is suitable before the onset of new growth, it is often better to water these plants at the soil line using soaker hoses or similar means. Rose bushes are very susceptible to fungal diseases, such as black spot and powdery mildew, especially when their foliage is kept too However, with the addition of well-rotted manure each spring, this is usually adequate. Mulching your rose bush will help retain moisture and may also offer some winter protection. Pruning is another aspect to consider when caring for rose bushes. This often takes place once leaf buds appear in spring. Make cuts about 1/4 inch (6 mm.) above the bud eyes and prune out any twiggy or unhealthy branches. Starting a rose garden and knowing how to take care of roses shouldn’t be intimidating. In fact, it’s easier than you might think. Just give them what they need and before you know it, you’ll be rewarded with beautiful blooms.
Thanks again TheilFinders for adding to our days of caching Willunga and surrounds, we will be back. TNLNSL (love saying that on this size cache)

Love it when my Tuesday walking group follows a geo-trail.. Arrived 2hrs earlier to clock a few to my tally. A slippery little sucker!! Thank you ThielFinders
Checked on this one. It had creeped slightly so replaced in original location ready to find again.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I started the day with a breakfast event in McLaren Vale, before spending the morning exploring the vicinity. We then headed west towards Myponga and Myponga Beach, enjoying a nice beach walk seeing the fascinating geology. A final late lunch stop was had in Myponga, and then we returned home in the early afternoon.
We parked just next to the posted coordinates, and read the sign to obtain the numbers for this multi-cache's final coordinates. An interesting historic relic. From there, we made the short drive close to GZ, and walked through the gardens to GZ. Thankfully, it didn't take long for [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) to make the find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I quite enjoyed this little location, and we couldn't exactly smell the roses, but it was a nice aroma in the air. Thanks ThielFinders for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

We had found a few multis today and after picking up a nearby puzzle thought one more would be a cracking end. When my wife saw the puzzle name, the Spanish Inquisition was on as to why I hadn’t bought her roses recently. When I responded that bringing her wine rather than roses was more romantic and important I earned enough good-will and cuddles for another decade.
It was the end of school so we had to wait for some young passionate lovers to kiss and smoke a durrie before we could search. Smokes are expensive these days so I could understand why he hasn’t bought his girlfriend/boyfriend any roses.
After a bit of back bending the cache was in hand. Funnily enough the weekend after next is a long one in Queensland and we have all our adult kids coming to join us in Toowoomba for the carnival of flowers. Mrs Woodyrothwell will want flowers but I will present her with a Vale wine instead. tftc

This afternoon I had to make a quick trip south to Port Elliot to give someone a lift back up to Adelaide. While I didn’t have much time to spare, I did have enough to slip into Willunga to try and do a couple of quick multis.
After a DNF at a nearby multi, I visited the sign at the starting coordinates and quickly gathered the required information . At the calculated GZ I walked around in circles for a minute or two before the phone GPS finally settled and the cache was quickly found.
Thanks ThielFinders for the cache.

The weather was a bit wintery today, so we didn't use the nearby car park.
CP managed to find parking pretty close without crossing the busy road.
A cool piece of SA history.
Back to the original car park & we managed to miss the dog wandering around the car park!!
It took a while to find, a sneaky nano... Luckily, there were no muggles at gz.
The roses were looking very dormant at the moment, but always a popular spot for birthdays and events.

My first find for 28 days, my longest streak without a find.
I had met up with a friend at Christies Beach to go for a walk this morning and after the walk and coffee I decided to go for a drive to Willunga to find this new multi. [^]
It was good to be out and about...arrived at the starting coordinates, a place I have visited previously and gathered the info needed then headed off to GZ.
I pretty much had the place to myself although there were a few people who were also ut enjoying the sunshine, but nowhere near me.
As I knew what I was looking for it didn't take too long to find...in the fourth place I felt.
Thanks for the cache ThielFinders, it is good to be back caching again.

No roses to smell. It is between rose time at the moment. Roses were lacking at GZ. Just one cache. Did not smell the cache. The cache was found in the last place we felt, which as usual was not the first place we felt. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Easter 2020 was supposed to see South Australia Geocaching hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. The event is now postponed six months to early October. Check out the event page and our website for new details. We would love to see you at this three day event. Mega event sponsored by Wattle Range Council, Geocaching.com and many other supporters. Lots of caches to find including two classic art work trails.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Called back today and found it exactly where I looked before. I am guessing my little fingers were a bit short when feeling for cache.
Thanks
Thanks
found with mogni on route from my house to her's. She had done the co ords before. Gz was muggle free and a quick find. Well anything bigger than a nano would go missing here, so I will miss out the rant on my log. Nice location.

Burn down the Nano factory.
Maybe Mogni didnt get down low enough on her knees.

I stopped in on my way home but must be out of practice. No cache spotted despite coords feeling correct.
I will wait to come back another day.

*STF* at 4:14pm. As there was no logged finds at 3:30pm when I finished work I decided to come for a drive. The coordinates were easily solved at the posted coordinates. Then a short stroll to GZ and found the cache after about a minute of searching. TFTC TheilFinders
South Australia has now gone 7 days without a new Covid case being recorded and the efforts of South Australians have see the curve flattened in this state.
I have therefore decided to publish some caches as a test to restarting publishing in this state.
If the logs show that the geocaching community are being responsible and not breaking social distancing rules when it comes to finding and writing in the logbook I can publish more submissions.
I have put a watch on the caches published and will monitor the logs. If people breach the rules through large numbers of people attempting a FTF or congregating at a newly published cache this will result in me suspending publication again.
I will not be publishing events at this time and I may need to suspend publication of caches again if the current situation changes.
I look forward to being able to look at your cache submissions and thank everyone for their understanding during this difficult time.
