TFTC. Bit of a trek but didnt fall offer slip!! Amazing view. Quick find. Coming back up hill was easier
Visiting the Adelaide region for a week from Port Macquarie. Today was a very long and somewhat arduous day, starting with an early morning walk around Glenelg before heading out towards the hills, Hahndorf, and Mount Barker. We then finished it off by targeting as many caches on our to-do list as we could before making it back to Glenelg just on dark for some gelati. Overall, it was a mostly successful caching day and are thoroughly enjoying our visit to Adelaide thus far.Quite hazy today so the view was a bit limited but still much better than at the actual lookout. Managed a quick find of this oldie. Thanks for the cache
Naughtybunny and I went to Belair this afternoon to have a look at the amazing orchids. Then it was dodgy HJs for dinner. She hadn't been to Windy Point so had to go for a drive there. I did this cache many years ago under a different name and it has certainly moved to a much better location. Wow, what views! Cache found after a short search and logged. TNLN. Cheers.
Arriving at the event a little early gave me a bit of time to wander off through the bushes to find my daily cache on the side of this big hill with a magnificent view. It looks like Im not the only one to visit here to take in the view.A bit of scrambling around to finally find the cache, sign the log and take in more of the view. Definitely giving this one a not just because of its age, but also because of the view.TFTC Team Galaxy Quest.Keep smiling
After this mornings event, walked over to this one, awesome views, even on a windy day when its about to rain.
Very confusing spot ended up getting lost. Got to GZ and searched around for half an hour and couldnt find anything
definitely was our own fault because it was 1am and we decided to cut through the bushes and trees instead of go in the trail sooo
Amazing spot for a cache! Great views from GZ. Great to see the original logbook still in place.-Thank you for maintaining and placing this cache! Today is day 9 of our SA Great Leap Forward Mega adventure. Based at Goolwa, Mr T, Gooseandegg , Stainless-Steel-Rat and Budgietas concentrated on finding caches with appropriate D/T 's to fill their Fizzy Grids and this was one of them.We signed the log Team Tassie. We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty.Enjoyed caching in this area, cache and contents were in good condition. Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
This one was a quick addition due to it's age so myself and Wayne were dropped off roadside and the birds went off to find a park, it was great to see original logbooks in this one, thanks for keeping this one going. This was the first trip to the mainland for this group of Tasmanians in a while, we flew over on the 24th and left early on the 3rd. With 4 days in Goolwa followed by 4 in Glenelg we managed to get some caching done in different areas and pull in a select list of caches we all almost all needed, old caches were on the list as normal but also some different D/Ts with some high fav pointed cache making up the remainder. The trip didn't start well with Qantus losing a bag which made us rearrange a couple of days but we got some 4WDing in and a even some driving on the beach to get a couple of different caches, boat trip to Adventure Island was a great start on the day of the Mega too.All caches were stamped "Team Tassie" which consisted of myself, gooseandegg, Budgietas and Tassie TrekkersFound on 02/03/2024 at 11:33:00 thanks to Team GalaxyQuest for placing this cache for me to find. I have vague memories of people being thrown out of the car on a precarious corner! We focused on some old caches on this trip and were not disappointed! Thanks Team Galaxy QuestThe usual trio of myself, stainless steel rat and Budgietas was joined by Tassie Trekkers for The Great Leap Forward trip. We decided to cache down south around Goolwa, Victor Harbour and extended reaches for a few days, before basing ourselves in Glenelg for the second half of the trip where we cached around the city, the hills and the Barossa Valley with a highlight being a couple of hours on Adventure Island. Many thanks to the Mega Committee, all the helpers and many local COs who kept up busy and entertained. Most logs were stamped with Team Tassie.
A day of caching in and around Adelaide grabbing some useful D/Ts that we havent visited beforeAll log books were stamped with team Tassie which included Goosenegg, stainless steel rat, Tassie trekkers and myselfTFTCSorry for the generic log, it has been a long week!!!!!!!
Found in our group of six Queenslanders unsupervised in Radelaide mega'ing. We're back in the Venga bus for a road trip to Victor Harbo(u)r. All logs signed or stamped as SQUIRM. Thanks for the cache Team Galaxy Quest
The third full day in South Australia for The Six Queenslanders Unsupervised In Radelaide MegaingWere back in Staceys Mum concentrating south of Adelaide with Victor Harbor being the target for the dayWeve made a detour for other reasonsThanks Team Galaxy Quest
Its day 4 and Team SQUIRM are off to Victor Harbor, we are just taking the very scenic route. We came up here for a different reason but thought wed grab this oldie while here. Nice to find an original container and logbook.Tftc Team Galaxy QuestFind #5489
The SQUIRM team has travelled from Brisbane for the MEGA.We are here for a week and a bit, of Fun, Fringe and caching. After tackling some caches in and around the city area yesterday, today sees us heading to Victor Harbour via. . . who knows where. We have no deadline to be there by, and that's probably a good thing . Thanks for the cache. Fantastic to find an oldie
I was heading up past Windy Point and knowing there was a way point for an Adventure Lab I stopped here. The view was spectacular and it was such a clear day - could literally see for miles. Even in the distance it was possible to see the planes landing and taking off from the airport. After completing the AL question, I noticed that this one was close by so I wandered down for a look. Great to see such an old cache surviving in the wild! TFTC Team GalaxyQuest
Today we decided to watch the sunset as we sometimes do from the carpark.
We did this today whilst eating desert!
We made the short walk from the lower carpark, then down the hill and the cache was quickly found.
Nice uninterupted view from GZ.

I haven’t really specifically targeted old caches as yet, though I need to for a challenge and also to advance my grid. I don’t come past Windy Point often, but I was coming past today and pulled in for the Adventure Lab. I looked to see if there were any physical caches nearby, and this gem pops up.
It cold and rainy today, so not a day for views, but at least I had the whole area to myself. GZ is not a difficult walk from the restaurant car park.
Very rewarding to find what looks like the original cache, but better still, all the original logs, everything in great condition thanks to the excellent choice of hiding spot.
And great views of rain sweeping across the suburbs.
Best cache of the day for sure, thanks so much Team GalaxyQuest.

Relatively quick find while stopping to admire the view on a car club drive. Definitely a WOW view!
Wow, what a cache! I’m giving you my first favourite point.
I wasn’t sure that I was coming at this cache from the right angle at first but was relieved of this concern when I found the little goat track that only cachers could have made over the incredible twenty years this cache has been here. I’m guessing that calling the phone number to log the cache is a thing of the past that with the magic of apps?
Thank you team galaxy! P.s. I’m here at night and the view is serendipitously reminiscent of a galaxy!

Sunday morning walk with the geo-pup before it gets too hot.
Couldn't see an obvious entry point, so cross country it was. Turns out it's the only way there, nice hide once you're on the edge (T rating is definitely a bit low... they were tough in the old days )

Train going past about 1km away. Terain raining understated but managed to get here uninjured. Maybe there is a tunnel that pops out around here somewhere. Thanks Team GalaxyQuest for the challenge.
Fantastic find! Spent a little while up here in the fresh air taking photos until my batteries died, so decided to check out the nearest GC. Did what exactly what the hint said NOT to do and scraped my knee quite intensely on the rock. Think my depth perception was thrown off by the vertigo of such a huge vista!
Upon posting this drafted log, two weeks after finding it, my knee scrape is just about to heal. I did score some cool foreign coins for my collection & discovered a new vantage point for photography though, so worth it.
Photos are spoilers.

This evening, I joined gridge98 and weredunn4, and hiked around Lynton Reserve. I had visited here a couple of months ago and left with a DNF, so the focus was to return to a *My Favourite Rides* geocache with a previous finder to assist with a find. We also had a few other target caches too. I was hesitant about the poor weather that we had during the week, but our late afternoon was really nice to be walking around, and had only wished I had returned with my mountain bike. It sure is a nice area, and almost a secret local gem!
Wow, this cache was quite the oldie 09/2002 hidden cache, and I hadn't had the chance to find it yet. During the fading light, [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and I made the descent down, and we probably scaled the cliff too early, requiring 100 m to traverse along the side. Some cool rocks and geology around here, and once we got to GZ, it still took us 5-10 min to find this oldie. It was nicely hidden away, and we were glad to find a few of the old logbooks still inside this one. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Team GalaxyQuest for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Last cache for today. Bash based out way down to this one. With it getting dark it took quite a bit of time to find it. Finally I turned around and spotted it nicely hidden away
After getting an unexpected FTF this morning I headed north to collect a few new caches around Stockport before heading back to town and out with Davidwazza and Weredunn4 to collect some caches around Belair. All up 34 caches for the day.

After visiting a business in Hawthorn this morning, I headed a bit further south to try and find a couple of solved puzzle caches and a couple of older traditionals, including this one.
The weather wasn’t the best, with a fair bit of wind and showers. I made my way down to the cache from the carpark and ended up getting a bit wet on the way back to the car. Fortunately the cache was as found quickly, dry and in good condition.
Thanks Team GalaxyQuest for the cache.

Veni, Vidi, Vici, Scripsi,
Having Christmas Day Lunch at the nearby restaurant and had arrived early, so with a cache less than 100m away it was just too difficult not to head off to make a quick find. Wandered down the slope and quickly located the cache right where the hint said it would be. Oh Wow. I had a box like that as a school kid. What a memory. Tried to stamp the log but the stamp played up. Eventually got there. replaced everything and back to lunch which was great. Could not be a better day.

Wow! What an oldie. A few hit and misses finding a track down but got there eventually. What a view at sunset!
I’ve driven past this one for so many times, so today I decided to park and walk and make the find. Great views from GZ. Better than at the main lookout.

Another Wednesday Walkabout for some members of the Puzzled Puzzlers group in search of solved puzzles and anything else whilst we are passing. [8)] Today it was a case of the same car full of myself Sushilord, Blackadders and Mrs. S.A. Sewer Rats. We had finished last week up Blackwood way and so once again we headed thataway in search some more finds.
We called in at Windy Point for our picnic lunch. May as well stroll over and grab this cache after. [^] A quick find once we made it through the prickly Acacia Bastardos bushes.

The usual Wednesday troupe of animals consisting of a Rat, Starfish, Adder and a Fish lover. After a nice lunch at the nearby parking area the Adder and Starfish the ones needing to make the find, headed off into the bush in search of this prize. Maybe a little more that a 1 1/2 terrain was encountered however the cache was eventually found and log signed. TFTC
Awesome view. Tricky terrain. Kids freaking out about brown snakes. Found it after a 5 min search.
Absolutely stunning view, so very pleased to have found the cache with Bj grabbing the container for his first find and I’m guessing we’ve another cache addict on our hands
Stopped by ith my dad and jj52 for the day whilst out and about, had to hold my dads hand going down, nice views from up here
Out and about with Rod81w and Briana the explorer and as we were driving past we decided to stop so Briana and I could find the cache. [^]
We cautiously walked to GZ and found the cache before taking some photos of the great view.

Found with muggle son and hubbie who are always up for a spot of searching scrub! Took the car, left business card for son. Great views. Worth the climb. Tftc
TFTC great view. Followed the elephant trail down through the bush straight to GZ, dodging a few 'stick' snakes. Cache full of interesting stuff, one thoughtful person even leaving something the young kids who come 'parking' up here might use.
nice view at gz, found on the " route " home from work. Didn't realise it was a old one till I logged it.
Found it after a T2.5 scramble from the point after watching the Hawk 127 fly over the Clipsal 500 crowd. This would have been a better place to see it, TBH, and now I'm imagining watching cars cruising past. Does the Classic Adelaide Rally come this way? This would be an amazing vantage point!

We came to Windy Point to watch the RAAF Hawk do a flyover of the Clipsal races, but should have come to GZ of this cache - it would have been a much better view.
Umm T=1.5? I guess cachers were more like mountain goats when this was placed, or, and I wouldn't discount this point, maybe we came in the wrong way.
Anyway it's nice sitting at GZ logging and watching the world go by.

Decided to have lunch here today with the adult kids. A bit of drizzle didn't stop us finding this one. Grabbed the TB and enjoyed the views

On yet another bike riding cache-grab after work, after grabbing a cache near a waterfall just near the roads elbow, I found this one with ease and sat myself down and read thru the many log books and had a laugh and enjoyed reading most of the logs that go way back [^] I Love older caches like this The place was living up to it's name and SL wasn't easy as I was trying to grab stickers out of my Cache-Box and take pics of the logs and cache with city in the background aswell. The views were unreal [^] and like mentioned in a previous log, this spot isn't spoilt by trees being in the way. Also mentioned is the Terrain Star rating... if attempted from the road below then it's about a 2 and a half easily I was meant to get to Belair CFS and grab me another cache but this one being so interesting (Log book entries and views) I ran out of time and daylight (16:47 and thick cloud) so this was my last for the day. I enjoyed my 25 min visit and views. Left some of my workplaces namesake swag and my namecard [:o)] SL at 16:47 on Thu. 21 July 2016, TFTC Team Galaxy Quest
The views across Adelaide from this cache are simply awesome (and a lot better than Windy Point, as there are no trees in the way) . Found the container quickly and then took the TB. Signed log
Day off so out gathering some caches.

Owl was heading to Victor Harbor for a craft camp, taking a long drive with lost of stops to favour an injured leg. (That's her story and she's sticking to it.) This was meant to be an easy cache to get the blood flow going, but it turned into a nightmare. The uneven ground underfoot was bad enough, but the clambering over the rocks close to the road on unsteady legs is not recommended. If this is a terrain 1 1/2, Owl is in trouble!

Out and about in Adelaide for the 2016 National Swimming Championship. Next week we are travelling the great ocean road through to Melbourne where we will fly back to home in Qld.
This cache was found whilst driving around aimlessly adventuring. We spotted a lookout and stopped for a look. Naturally there was a geocache 'close enough' so we just had to find it.
Took a bit of scrambling over rocks etc but got it in the end. Also found a very cool lion stencil painted on the rockface nearby
