In Warooka for a couple of days , picked up a few more caches this morning before heading back for lunch. I have left a Path Tag in one of my finds today. Coordinates good, a few caches have suffered from water ingress. Maintained caches where necessary. Thanks to Fishy Tales for this series of caches. TFTC
Another fishing trip with two salty sea-dogs Cheezel1961 and Wayne APN to tackle the Gone Fishn series, (or Gone Fushin as Cheezel pronounces it) along with finding as many bakeries and the usual tomfoolery, banter and an endless supply of Dad jokes from WayneAPN.Targets for the weekend was Wayne APN to get his 5,000th cache, Cheezel to get his 10,000th, and me to get my 10,000th trad. Really enjoying this series and a massive thanks too all those who created and maintain this unique trail.Cache found and log stamped.
Hitting Yorke Peninsula once again, Cheezel1961, Weredunn4 and myself, looking to knock off more of the Gone Fishing Series. As well as caches of interest we stumble across. Maintenance being performed on any that needs it.Banter, Dad jokes and ribbing occurring in abundance on our trips away. This trip was no exception.TFTC SL
The 3 Stooges are hitting Yorkes Peninsula again, WayneAPN, weredunn4 and myself, looking to knock off more of the Gone Fishing Series.Any other caches of interest will be tackled along the way too of course I had to check this out Friday night, but its been 13 months since we last tackled this series as a grouptoo long Our trips away are always a bundle of fun, ranging from abundant dad jokes, banter, hatching plans of future trips, crap being thrown around about weredunn4s 2 minute loo (I mean poo) stops , baked bean talk and the list goes onSuffice to say, these are always great trips away All caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC
Nice find with woolwood9 today. Good to be back on the "Gone /fishn' Trail"We managed to get about 130 of them today and the other 125 we still need will be tomorrow.SL *tm/ww NZ**Thanks Fishy Tales for the huge effort along the trail.* First finders this year along this section.
tmann421 and I were here a few years ago and have now returned to finish off the newer placements.Nice easy hides with good hints made for quick retrievalsGot 130 finds today and will do the rest tomorrow. Thanks to the Fishy Tales Team for the work put into these hides.Signed logs tm/ww NZ
Found today in a group consisting of Rabbitto, Alansee, Team Crackers, Maccamob, Micaparamedic, McLookers and myself. All signed as RAT4M.Many thanks to Fishy Tales for the cache.
We found this cache today on our Southern Yorke tour in company of the RAT4M group, which stands for Rabbitto, Alansee, Team Crackers, Muzza, McLookers, Micaparamedic and Maccamob. A big day traversing the dry and dusty roadsides of Yorke Peninsula. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Found by Mary and David in convoy with Rabbitto, Alansee, Team Crackers, Micaparamedic, McLookers and muzza, signing as RAT4M, at 13:52. Caching the Yorke for the next few days. Our thanks to Fishy Tales.
After having a great day yesterday doing the Magical Unicorns and Sad Fisherman series we headed off early today to have a go at some fishing.Again we had all worked on the finals for the ones neaded not long after they came out but this was our first chance to look for the actual hides. We started off slow but soon got the hang of the hides and things started to speed upWe replaced a few the were broken and that were obviously missing. Sorry for the generic log but doing so many in a day we lost track of individual hides. This does not mean we do not appreciate the enormous effort and expense gone into setting up the series as we really do.Many thanks Fishy Tales For the fun and laughs. To save room in the log book we signed as RAT4M (Rabbitto, Alansee, Team Crackers, Muzza, mcLookers and micaparamedic maccamob)
Found while travelling through SA with some other cachers. I am sure that they have the details!
Adventuring today with Rabbitto, Alansee, Team Crackers, Muzza, micaparamedic and maccamob. We have signed the logs RAT4M.Thanks for the cache Fishy Tales.

JJ52 and Allister W were target some certain cache types for the hard sounvier online bage. After Finishing the fishing line geoart we cached along the coast to Edithburgh and still only got to Edithburgh for dinner. Saturday was a cooler day for power trailing and only 1 snake was sighted, sunday started off cold but soon turned in to nice caching weather. We stopped for lunch in Stansbury on the way home.
Found with the JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) crew on a weekend on the Yorkes.

Having always driven/biked/walked around sightseeing and grabbing smilies, am looking for a change.
Any series of caches expierenced anywhere so far have been driving/walking/bike paths through to bitumen, each with lots of caching issues.
Looking forward to a series in the country on minor roads.
What a pleasure today has been with this experience.
Thanks"Fishy Tales" for the cache

I have come over from NZ to visit family and do a lot of caching. I am now on the Yorke Peninsula doing the trails and other caches close by. Have been out here before but there are lots of new caches now. Time to change camp so not as many today. Had a few aims for this trip.
So JTreeTrack2 and Mr Dromaniax decided they would find FOUR HUNDRED caches in a day. When they put their minds to a task, they usually achieve it, which is what they did.
The day started with the first cache at 8.15 and finished with the last on the list found at 7.45 pm. So eleven and a half hours of solid caching. We travelled 135 kilometres to achieve the task.
We had zero DNFs. We also picked up a few spare caches from the Bait station yesterday evening and replaced a few that had succumbed to the ravages of time.
We found nearly one hundred WereiGo caches and many Mysteries from the Hook GeoArt.
We were very impressed by the standard of maintenance on the caches that we found and were pleased that we also picked up a few decades of unloved.
Thank you, Fishy Tales, for a wonderful, gruelling day caching on the Yorke Peninsula.
All caches were stamped with JTT2 DX.

Day 8 conquering this series. Only one beat us today. Way too much grass. Countryside has changed. Gone is that dreaded bridal creeper. Yey! Coordinates are great.
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. Our first day on the YP and time to Go Fish'n. Thanks to all concerned in the placement and maintenance of these caches.
Very chilly morning with rain ️ in patches. Got our fishing gear sorted with iluvtrekking and ready for a big haul. Grabbed a few lures for along the way. Thanks Fishy Tales.
A few heavy showers overnight left us hoping for a fine day to continue our fishing expedition this morning.
Expecting the roads may be a bit more challenging, there were a few puddles.
With plenty of bait left it was time to see if the fish were still biting.
All tagged as C&F for Cybergran V and feathertop, and released.
Thanks for another wonderful day.

This was Day 4 of our long anticipated trip to the Yorke Peninsula and surrounds.
Goal today was to knock off the remaining 93 gone fishn caches and then an assortment of other local caches. 135 for the day which felt satisfying.
First to these which began at number 869 and continued to yesterday's end point at 962.
Easier finds today often spotted from the road. Just minor cache maintenance, maybe 2 replaced and one or two logsheets otherwise all good.
A bit of roadwork on the Yorketown Road slowed us a tad but we cached at 43 per hour which felt a good pace.
Great to have my navigator, clue giver and distance countdowner, Cybergran beside me. Couldn't have done it without her and her good humour and encouragement.
Many thanks for the series...

Today we arrived in Yorketown, our plan is to complete the newer Gone Fishn' caches. This afternoon we managed to complete 65 of them, there was another 8 odd that we needed to walk away from as the road the are on is being resurfaced. We replaced two cache containers that were missing, but we found the co-ords to be very good and the caches we found were in good condition. SL TFTC
Enjoyed a few days on the bottom of the peninsula, enjoying the sights, finding a few smileys and we did a spot of Fishn'

After getting a bunch of the Gone Fishn series a couple weeks ago, I was keen to revisit the area and continue my efforts on this mammoth series. I planned a weekend on Yorkes to find and log a few more. An offer came in from a muggle partner to be my driver, and I jumped at the chance. My solo efforts last time netted me up to 32 per hour. With my driver also performing admin duties, I was able to achieve more than 40 per hour today. It was delightful to have a friend along to chat to and we had a great day out.
Thanks Fishy Tales for the cache and the series. Today I managed to get #1032 to #876, and a few in Warooka and Hardwick Bay. All but one was present and accounted for, although a handful took a little searching to find. All caches were visited in person, stamped with my own stamp, and placed back where it was found (no cache hopping shenanigans).
Log prepared and submitted with GSAK Find # 6095

Thanks to Fishy Tales for the big series. Thanks for all the caches. Claiming a fing as a beta tester. Apologies for the generic logs and thank for the series Fishy Tales. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the CO for placing these here for our enjoyment.
The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Day 4 of caching Gone Fishn’ trail on Yorke Peninsula and a few off trail trads today for a bit of variety with Wollaston and Liz&Bruce.
Wearing gloves and gators even though it’s cloudy and spitting rain for most of the morning, it’s getting warmer and the less tourist friendly wildlife are on the move. Adding to the thrill of finding each cache was the view of perfectly grown cereal crops almost harvest ready forming a tapestry across the hills, some starting to crop with mega harvesters. Along the way were the odd blue tongue lizards, huge centipedes, flighty spiders, horses and alpacas, birds nesting and singing away, the obligatory late afternoon flies, and the biggest beetles, and of course what would a cache day be without upsetting a few ants!
Today’s lunch was enjoyed at Marion Bay then we were privileged to be able to tick off a few special caches along the coast with CO’s Liz&Bruce. What a stunning coastline in the less travelled ’leg’ of Aus, amazing views from cliffs and the crisp sandy white beaches with the clearest waters. To claim smiles we climbed eleventyseven steps, clambered over a huge variety of rocks and surfed down a dune. The sun was out and the breeze light making our visit even more beautiful.
Our afternoon was eventful with some different wildlife, we watched a brown snake slither across the road at Marion, had a kangaroo race us at 50kph, even met some curious emus and their chicks, saw a school of fish near the shore and a huge pod of dolphins, what a great day!
So much effort has gone into setting up these trails, today’s trail was an easy run, pulling up and jumping out, spotting the rock, post or sticks and quickly on to the next one, unlike the previous days where a few caches were tricky to find, some were under bushes that are now trees, some were found in undergrowth that has overwhelmed the hide, some were under rocks when they were hinting to look in a bush or post or tree. For the rest, most were easy, some were duplicated and some were missing. We may have added to rock piles making a couple of cairns.
Maintenance was done by replacing full or wet logs and missing or broken containers all completed with CO permission.
Thanks to the many hands and minds taking time to set out hides and showing us your part of the world

With mild temperatures this weekend, I decided it would be a good time to hit the fishy trails - before it gets too hot and the snakes are out in force. Thankfully no snakes sighted today. Today was day two of my Yorke weekend.
Today I had 5 DNFs. Not bad considering the long grass on many of the verges along these country roads. A long and exhausting day, but it is so rewarding seeing the unfound cache symbol icons turn yellow with a big smile.
An amazing amount of planning, work and expense has been put into this epic trail. For that I thank you immensely. Great work.
As of the end of caching today, I still have 868 caches to find in this trail. I’m exhausted just thinking about it!
Thanks for the cache Fishy Tales.

Couldn’t refuse a Friday arvo offer of a night fishing trip to the Yorkes who doesn’t love a fishing cache run?
Met with LiB, Gridge98 and JJ52 at Mawson Lakes and headed off on our Adventure in Gridge’s new geomobile.
I was delirious, wet and muddy by the end of the night and was grateful for my bed when I finally got home just before the sun came up.
I still have a lot more fishing trips to organize so many fish to be caught down this way.

Made a spur of the moment decision to come to Yorkes for a spot of night fishing with gridge98, LíB and Michells&hound meeting the others at Mawson Lakes around 7:00pm to head off for a little adventure. [^]
We made a stop at Port Wakefield for refreshments then it was all systems go. A fun night was had with a little bit of drizzle and some wet roads but all the caches we looked for were found without too much trouble. We stopped at Port Wakefield again on the way home to find another cache then back to Mawson Lakes where we all headed off in different directions. My night was topped off by a FTF on my way home so that was a bonus.
Thanks for the cache Fishy Tales.

Headed out after work, for a night of caching, with gridge98, Michells&hound and JJ52.
Roads mostly okay apart from a couple of wet/slippery patches which gridge98 navigated through just fine. Wet and muddy shoes were unavoidable in parts.
All caches found were in good condition.

A great night out with good company and a lot of coffee to get me through. Stopped by the fishing shop along the way and a rest stop on the way home and a few lab cache waypoints.

Wandered down the big boot with froghoppin today to see what we could catch.
A personal record number of caches it seemed, along with a few interesting wildlife friends along the way! Several caches had spiders, one with a nice red pin stripe, one had a baby brown snake hiding under a nearby rock, a few bunnies, and lots of evidence of mice. These caches sure are as tasty as a bait bucket, 'cos quite a few are well chewed One wonders what might come out in springtime to eat all the well fed mice
Apologies for the similar logs, but it does kind of match the cache trail... [:o)]
Much thanks to Fishy Tales for placing, and facilitating crowd maintenance, on these caches on our map
The roads home proved interesting too, with sightings of possum, roos, fox, bunnies, mice again, and a sheep dog to mix it up a bit!!!

Do stay safe when caching.
Watch for snakes, random cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only ones you share and pass on
2020 turned into 2020won, and 2020too is on the way! 2020free should see us through
Still important to observe social distancing when possible, (150 nano caches apart should do it)
Still important to wash your hands (always has been really [:o)]
Still very important to look after each other and take precautions & get checked out for even the tiniest sniffle or cough, or unexpected headache! [8)] [B)]
Still even more important to get some fresh air and exercise while we can, so get out and cache the country!
Thanks so much to all those placing caches out and about away from the city crowds,
keeps our game safe and interesting
[:o)]

Today we headed out with Mattycat to tackle another chunk of the Gone fishin series managing to fish out another 202 caches into smilies , fortunately we had the foresight to collect some fishing supplies from a nearby supply outlet, we had to replace 10 today for various reasons but most predominately were chewed or taken by mice and other animals , rest were all in great condition which we happilly added our stamp. A long day but very satisfying with both Mattycat and us setting personal goals in the number of caches found for the day

Some anglers prefer to do their fishing during daylight hours. If we all treat our planet and all the creatures that live here with respect, there should be sufficient for all keen enough.
Many thanks to Fishy Tales and all that have helped get up and maintain this mammoth series
