I just spent six months in a Leake boat was transferred from GeocachingSA to user GeoSA_Hides
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying at Millicent for the week, finding some of the caches we should have found if we had not been prevented from attending the 2020 Mega by Covid19. Thanks for the cache. LNCU.
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Millicent for a few days to grab some finds placed for the ill fated Mega because of Covid. Definitely not there - replaced again. Thanks for the hide. LNCU
Found at 12:35 PM GAFF?Set up our van at the Lake Leake camping area, had lunch and then headed off to finish off the Fishing pole series. Along the way we stopped to checked on this cache and found that there was indeed nothing there, so we replaced the cache with the CO's blessing Great views from here. Thanks to GeocachingSA
Dropped past this afternoon, several muggles and their cars where parked at GZ looking like they were in for the long haul, so I'll come back on the next opportunity I have in the next couple of weeks.
You wouldn't want to miss this corner!
It is a long way down to the lovely looking Lake Leake.
Cheers

We are camping at the lake so after bombing out on the lake mystery I thought I’d better get this one. Lucky it was much easier. Another blank day of my calendar, only 3 to go.
While Mr Morris was still on leave we snuck over the border for a few days and while the weather was a mixed bag we had a nice camp at Lake Leake and managed to find a few caches.
Today we took the bikes over to Lake Edward and really enjoyed our lap around the lake - lots going on and a really pleasant ride. Collected this on our way home. This hill gives a pretty freaky view at night from down below - it looks like cars will continue straight over the cliff.
Thanks for the series GeocachingSA

Day 8 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today fitzy_1965 and I moved from Mt Gambier to Millicent with albida, Sol de lune & smittengranny. We signed as MAFSS to save room. Some of us may have rebelled and signed FAMSS instead.
Our aim was to collect the wine bottle series at Kalangadoo until it was time to check in at Millicent. On the way we did a bit of fishing. Then we headed out again to collect as many of the GV2020 series as we could.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

30,664. Found with minniek, albida33, Sol de lune, smittengranny (signing either as FAMSS or MAFSS to save room and just for fun). After the hordes around Rutherglen it was good to drop down to a group of 5.
Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 8. Today we left Mt Gambier and eventually headed to Millicent to start finding the caches we missed out on when we were locked out of the Millicent Mega. We went north and started at Kalangaloo to start the Wine Bottle series with a few bonus caches thrown in. A great series and a lot of fun driving around the area. Then we moved onto the Finding a Fish series, and after that there were a few random caches before heading to Millicent to check in. This was a quick find at GZ. Signed, replaced, then we headed to the next one on the list.
Thanks GeoVenture2020 !!

Southern Autumn adventure Day 9. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 3. Back on the road, the day consisted of getting from Mount Gambier to Millicent via Kalangadoo and many many caches. I left the van in Kalangadoo and climbed in with Smitten Granny. The rest of the team was Sol de Lune, MinnieK and Fitzy_1965. We proceeded to visit the wine bottle and cup series and the pole series. We had lots of fun in amongst dirt roads and rain showers. We even managed a few challenging tree caches. The day ended in Millicent after setting up with a section of the GV2020 Geo-Art that only came to an end as the light faded.

After the Rutherglen mega, fitzy_1965, albida33, minniek, Smittengranny and myself headed to the Mount Gambier / Millicent region to tackle some of the caches from the Millicent mega that we couldn't' get to.
After a day in Mount Gambier, we headed up for the series around Kalangadoo and stated our assault from there. We headed around til mid afternoon finding cache before it was time to head into Millicent to check into our accommodation.
All caches attempted were found and a day was had by all.
Many thanks to all the CO's....it was good to hear the Millicent mega went well, but even better that we have finally made it across to find the caches.....

The five amigos, minniek, Albida33, Fitzy_1965, Sol de Lune and Smittengranny were out on a real mission today after leaving Mt Gambier. The aim? As many caches as possible before dark . We concentrated on PTs with a few extras thrown in for good luck. The coordinates for many of the puzzles and wherigos had been calculated a couple of years ago when we thought that we would be attending the Mega over here.
All logs were signed either as MAFSS or FAMSS. Thanks to all who were involved in placing and maintaining these trails.

We drove to Lake Leake today, before heading to Lake Edwards.
A few people were camping close to the water, and then we drove up where we had a wonderful view to find this Hide.

Found on our travels through the area, heading to Portland from Millicent today. A great spot here for a picnic on the other side of the lake. Great views, cheers for bringing us here.

Today we headed out for a day of New Years Day caching, well an afternoon really. We decided a nice walk around Lake Edward would be good. We headed to Glencoe first as husband wanted to see the shearing shed and gave me a chance to avenge a couple of prior dnfs.
We had left overs for lunch at the lake before setting off on our walk, husband had a blow out on one of his thongs at the first cache a ruse I think!! So he went back to the car and I completed the walk. I was paranoid about snakes but happily was still able to complete the loop with just one dnf. 19 finds for the day 2023 is off to a good start!
My thanks to all the CO for their hides and maintenance much appreciated.
I can’t believe this one was here when we looked last time it’s so obvious quick find today. TFTC

Out and about across several days with a fun caching crew that consisted of ChooknChunk, Team Crackers, micaparamedic, RoamingHowie, Papi4506, and GeoTurtle37.
The laughter, frivolity, cheeky comments, deep and meaningful conversations, drinking, eating, caching, dust, long grass, the spectacular Andrew (RoamingHowie also known as the human ladder) taking one or two or three for the team (geocaching certainly got him wet) , then there was Rob (Papi), his climbing skills and agility was second to none - amazing!! [^], and what Jo could do with a pole is impressive! [:X]
Life has been a little challenging lately (as it has been for many), but this geocaching trip instantly injected some nature, connection with others and different scenery into the mix (with the silliness and laughter) - just what the soul needed.
Thank you to those who placed the caches and then a special thanks to those who maintain the caches that we found. [:X]

Still catching up on logging so apologies. Geoturtle37 and I have extended our trip for a lot longer than it was planned and this is one of the many subsequent caches found.
A leaking boat wouldn't have mattered here today as the boat would have filled regardless. It is seriously raining but it doesn't seem to have put any of us off having a good time.
Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.

We had solved the wine bottle puzzles not long after they came out as we were planning to be at the Mega but that was not possible because of Covid.
So a plan was made to visit with ChooknChunk, Geoturtle37,Papi4056, Goodlook, micaparamedic,The_Tritonz and Roaming Howie we headed off to try our luck at the Millicent caches.
We were heading from the Fishing Line series to the wine glass and stopping at anything that popped up on the screen.
We pulled up here as the rain eased off to basically nothing which enable us to take in the scenic views of Lake Leake.
The cache itself turned out to be a very easy find and the log book now contains our name.
Happily we didn't have to spend six months in a Leake boat to find it.
Thanks once more GeoVenture2020 for bringing us here.

Here in Millicent with Team Vic (or V V R, depending on who had the pen) - consisting of The Tritonz, Papi4506, Geoturtle37, Team Crackers, micaparamedic, Roaming Howie and our honorary Vic GoodLook. After enjoying some lunch, it was time to head out to the Fish Finding series, then a quick stopover at Lake Leake, before starting on the Wine Bottle trads. Nice easy find here. TFTC GeoVenture2020
I was out and about for some post Mega wind down time. After heading to Dimboola for the event weekend I jumped on the end of a convoy to Millicent. Having setup over night it was off to explore today and collect some of the caches from the Mega we couldn’t make it to.
We toured the countryside and very overgrown grass to collect some of the powertrails. To save on log space these were logged as Team Vics (and a couple as VVR). The group included The_Tritonz, Team Crackers, Papi4506, GeoTurtle37, micaparamedic and myself.
All caches were found in good condition.
Thanks GeocachingSA for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to mindful

Having a ball caching with good mates we made our way to Lake Leake our 4WD’s as we left the leaky boat at home. Despite the cold weather we enjoyed the views overlooking the lake while making the find.
Now it’s time to move along to learn about the volcano geology.
Thanks GeocachingSA for the placement.

While camping for the weekend at Lake Leake we decided a few geocaches were in order - there sure are plenty around here to choose from!
This was walking distance from the campground so was naturally on the list.
What a view from the top!

Found by Rebel Acts in the company of The Empire, we were also joined by local hevwalker who helped us out with some required equipment for the days caching.
With it being School holidays in Victoria I had some time spare to head to Millicent where I teamed up with the Empire for a few days caching in the area, we had a fantastic time exploring the area. Today we tackled the The finding fish and DRB trails and a few other none trail caches that we past along the way. Then it was just the two of us to do the whine bottle before heading back into town for Dinner at the Pub for hevwalkers Birthday.

A terrific day out with Phetlern today.
The weather was windy, cool but often sunny.
We had a great time wandering around the roads finding caches.
After we completed the Finding a Fish trail we continued down the road and came to Lake Leake.
What a lovely location..

Over in SA again with a cut down group of geocaches compared to last time. We felt it was time this group of Victorians found some Millicent caches, as we were banned from the mega! We are signing the logs as Vic1. Thanks for the sometimes challenging caches GeocachingSA!
Today was day 4 (our last) of a Millicent blitz with McLookers, Alansee, BeckNmonts, Maccamob and Rabbitto, all signed as Vic1.
My thanks for the cache, GeoVenture2020.

We found this cache today on our Millicent Meander - Day 4 in company of Maccamob, BecknMonts, McLookers, Alansee, and Muzza. We signed the group as Vic1. Today, we head east. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Found with a team consisting of BecknMonts, McLookers, Maccamob, Rabbitto, and Muzza. This was our fourth and final day in the area and it was still cold. Today was another fun day caching although it would have been far better to have been able to come to the Mega. Many thanks to the CO's for the placements.
Was here on placement as a beta tester and have checked it since its still in place. TFTC GeoVenture2020

Day 2 of the Mega. We woke up in Naracoorte to torrential rain, hmm this could be a fun day!
Decided to have a clock change sleep in and enjoy listening to the rain on the roof. The very late start meant ir plans focused on getting 11 cache types for the day. Unlike others we did all 11 today rather than cherry pick from finds made over a few days.
It was a fab day of rushing from one place to the next with so many cachers around between Millicent and Penola. 11 cache types found, a tree planted in memory of Rex who had his last caching day out at the Penola CITO site before he met his tragic demise, a superb sausage sizzle, the pole got a good work out what a fab day out. Thanks to everyone who made this our favourite GeoVenture mega day.
Sadly we couldn’t find this one today ️

The second day of the Mega ended up being our biggest day, with most cachers, making the most of Saturday, (which was perfect for caching)
So many cars turned up for the lobster geoart, that there were plenty left over to continue with the fish series.
This made light work of our many hours of caching planned
Signed as part of the Misfits crew with CPwanderer, Gizmo's Gang & JJ52
A pretty spot, worth stopping for the cache & a photo or two...

Saturday the official start of the 2021 Millicent Mega event. today was filled with a few caches before meeting others up for some power trailing then heading out in to the forests for some more caches. The weather today was filled with rain off and on but that didn't stop me and Mogni. I was glad we had the 4x4 instead of Mogni car for the trip.
Spending the day around Millicent collecting caches in delightful weather!
Thanks GeoVenture2020 team
The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.
Thanks GeoVenture2020 team

Today we were around Millicent aiming for a couple of series like SFE and the fishing pole series along with local nice caches.
Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.
This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.
Thanks for the cache.

Another wet day in Millicent, so between showers we did the new Fishing series and a few caches around lake leake including this one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"
The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark
We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.
Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.
In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

After completing the crayfish some teams moved on and some moved on to others around the area, a few of us stamping under Mystery randoms continued onto here for some exploration. We were in the company of Mattycat, Sebastbat and JEM, with a few search teams this one was soon in the hands for a team stamp.

SA Mega weekend with sir_spectre, a huge weekend of catchups and hunting geocaches. At different times over the 5 day weekend we joined up with other teams caching as either the misfits or mystery randoms depending on the numbers of people and who organised.
Unfortunately the weather was very typical of the south east and put many teams off exporing the forests and some great creative caches were only found by a few teams.
For me this was a little bit different than for others as I lived in the south east for 15 years and worked in Penola, Millicent and Mount Gambier. Strangely this also meant I kept running into people I knew each day.
Lots of wildlife seen, wombats, echidnas, snakes, kangaroos and wallabies. Luckily the snakes in particular kept leaving the paths as we were walking.
Thanks to the Mega committee for all of their hardwork organising and the many locals who have placed and maintained caches (this includes me )
Thanks to GeoVenture2020 from mogni

Found during the GeoVenture2020 mega event in Millicent. Thanks for the cache GeoVenture2020!
Today was the day planned to complete the crayfish and the fish pole caches along with others decided along the way with CPwanderer, Gizmo's Gang, clare007, mogni and sir_spectre. [^]
We met up with a few other teams at various times during the day and signed logs as misfits or mystery randoms.
A fun day was had with lots of caches found, lots of TOTTs used and very wet feet and legs, but we were lucky that the rain held off for most of the day.
Thanks for the cache GeoVenture2020.

Once again teamed up with Sebastbat, Jack, **JEM**, and Froghoppin, for an assault on the cache map around the much awaited GeoVenture 2020 Joined some Missfits and Mystery Randoms at times during the day too, and took off on our own down all sorts of tracks and byways.
Apologies for some almost generic logs today, it's a lot to get logged on a night when we miss an hour's sleep LOL But we certainly had a lot of fun finding each and every cache !
A nice view of the lake as we joined the Mystery randoms for a while.
Thanks for putting this cache out on the SE SA geomap GeoVenture2020

All our Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

The great Geoventure 2020 tour....take 2...which is of course now in 2021 Once again it myself and AnyMules doing things that not many sane people would attempt. [:o)]
Day 2: Today we set out to do a few newer caches in and around Millicent. But as we were following the unfound boxes we found ourselves out at Mt. Burr and so it was onto the wonderful Native series, then a spot of Pole Fishing and then some more of the DRB series along with anything else we came across. If anything was particular interesting there will be a comment
Here.. Luckily it didn't take us 6 months to find the cache. It was in the first place I looked albeit pushed right down.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks GeoVenture2020 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

And the caching goes on with ilook4geo. We wanted to keep the run going fairly quickly as the sky was looking very heavy and threatening rain. We had worked our a run sheet and we found most of the selection, but the hunt was shortened when it did start to rain - yet again. This was an easy cache to find and all was on good condition. Thanks for this cache go to GeoVenture2020.
Out on a cache hunt for the day with goingplaces2 and we had a lot of fun. Then it rained. Caches were found, logs were signed, each was replaced. Job done. TFTC.
When I was a young boy
I wanted to sail around the world
That's the life for me
Living on the sea
Spirit of a sailor
Circumnavigates the globe
The lust of a pioneer
Will acknowledge no frontier
I remember you by, thunderclap in the sky
Lightning flash, tempers flare
'Round the horn if you dare
I just spent six months in a leaky boat
Lucky just to keep afloat
Aotearoa
Rugged individual
Glisten like a pearl
At the bottom of the world
The tyranny of distance
Didn't stop the cavalier
So why should it stop me
I'll conquer and stay free
Ah, c'mon all you lads
Let's forget and forgive
There's a world to explore
Tales to tell back on shore
I just spent six months in a leaky boat
Six months in a leaky boat
Ship-wrecked love can be cruel
Don't be fooled by her kind
There's a wind in my sails
Will protect and prevail
I just spent six months in a leaky boat
Nothing to it leaky boat
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
