We are travelling from Portland Victoria to South Australia to meet up with Pprass at Point Elliot. We spent last night at Cockatoo Lake and are travelling to Langhorne Creek,After arriving in town we had enough light to take a tour around town. What an intriguing little spot - so nice they are remembered. Thanks for contributing to our travels.
Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in late Tuesday night then packed the car and headed off to SA early Wednesday morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Well after crossing the border the other day and staying in Millicent and then Wellington last night its now time for more LGAs and head towards Cape Jervis for the night. So its LGA time and any others as I make my way Westish. After coming back on the ferry again I was on my way.A nice little town with a few old buildings.Parked on the side of the road and wandered over to the lonely grave. What a sad story about the 3 young girls and the father not finding out for awhile.Cache was soon located and my name added to the log. Thanks equipe de cing TFTC.
Out for the day with The White Dog Gang. All caches found were in good order unless otherwise mentioned. The weather was cool and drizzly and the mozzies were out in force at times. Thanks to all who placed caches.
Logged with the wrong date on my stamp. Still learning. So sad these young children drowned and then to lose a young toddler as well. Poor parents. A terrible loss. Thank you for the cache.
What a sad story here. The grave stone in beautiful. All good at this cache. SL TNLN but my signature. TFTC
Took Chookster to a secret spot in Langhorne Creek to see the Rainbow Bee Eaters, and did a couple of caches on the way home. This one was very sad TFTC Equipe de Cinq
Wow what a sad story. It was hard reading what had happened near here so long ago. Thanks so much for taking naughtybunny and I to this interesting spot. Cache was found quickly and logged. TNLN. Cheers.
With my geosister H423L for a caching day before heading to cairns tomorrow. Needed the ladder out of the car to find it not there. My sister had already done this one and pointed to were it is. 17 meters away. TFTC
We found this one after a short search, and a good strong pull (My, that magnet is strong). a very sad story and by bringing us here to the cash, we were able to read about this sad part of the local history. Tftc
Hard enough for children to survive back then and tragic to be taken just when you had a good hold on life. TFTC. All in tact.
Very sad story, heartbreaking but such a common occurrence. Now the parents would be punished.
Would have been just as sad if I didn't find it too. TFTC equipe de cinq. Log and cache in good order and has been popular of late with all the finds.

I’m not sure how the previous logger didn’t spot this one. Maybe they had tears in their eyes from the sad stories at this place of memorial. TFTC
Found this on the jlwe.
Went back today and can't find it!! So I'm logging it, but it may be gone.

Goldy is on a day trip to Meadows, Strathalbyn and Langhorne Creek with a muggle friend I'm in the process of converting.
There's a few hidden dates near Strathalbyn I need for AnyMules challenge cache as well as some EarthCaches and an Adventure Lab or two.
A quick find here today. Very sad that this all happened...
Cache is all good.
Thanks equipe de cinq for this cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 2446 on the 31st of January 2023.

So another CP must do event, so of course I went a long for the fun. Unfortunately I am a little under the weather and this area was not quite as flat as I was expecting and did strain my poor cold infected lungs. But with some help from my friends I made it and got back to my car (thanks James )
I will need to return for another wander to collect more caches in the area.
Found with sir_spectre

found with mogni on route to the Come climb CP's TOWER event. Didn't find this on game day of the JLWE. Quick find today.
What a sad tragedy, that poor family. The water way is about 2 or 3 feet at the moment, a long way off flooding the vines yet but it could still be a danger to children.
We have driven past here and not realised there was a piece of local history to discover, at least now the area has got wooden posts around it there are no campers hogging the area, although the next parking area always seems busy with campers. Would have expected them to head to warmer climates this time of year though!!
Found a spot to pull off the road that didnt look too boggy and wandered over to the information plaque, had a read, found a cache and signed a log. Good strong magnet too!
Thanks equipe de cinq for the cache. TNLNSL

Camping at Langhorne creek for a lazy weekend of R&R and of course caching. Out today to Strath for a Gas refill and to do a few more caches out that way! This was such a sad story... I really feel for the father, he lost so much...TFTC
Today we decided that we would target the Used 2B a Road caches and the associated Roads that never were etc that are south of Strathalbyn were we are staying for the moment. We found several other odd ones, We had 1 DNF and 1 we choose not to do as we felt that it was on private property. There was dirt roads, dust, flies and mosquito's.There were a lot more walking ones today, the caches range from low low low to way up there. Most were easy to spot but there was the odd one that had us circling but we got there in the end. All the caches were in good condition and the log book/sheets are OK.

Today headed out with The Geohusband and sister in law for caching and a visit to a winery for a tasting and a spot of lunch.
We did about 10 caches which were fun and then back home to the other sister in laws in Strath to watch the cricket.
Interesting historic and tragic story TFTC

A most enjoyable day caching towards and around Langhorne Creek.
Not too much rain and no DNF’s
A very sad story to be found here. It seems some folk have all the luck and others all the tragedies
Many thanks for showing us what others have had to deal with in the past equipe de cinq

If you thought 2020 was bad, 2021 was the year that almost killed me!!!
But cats have 9 lives, and have caches to find... so on and up we go [:o)]
Found this in the company of Sebastbat and JEM as a game cache on the JLWE event. Kind of catching up on things now. The weekend was a blur, but a fun blur. and the weeks after had their challenges. Caching is a great motivator to get out and get more fit and healthy
Thanks to all those who made it a fun weekend and the team behind it who made the caches possible. tftc equipe de cinq

Caches everywhere are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

On our way to Meningie but stopped to find this Cache. This is one of the saddest and most heart breaking stories we have ever heard, but we would never have come across it if not for Geocaching. Thank you for placing this cache here so others can read this devistating story and remember this family.
Up at Langhorne Creek for netball and had a break in between games so decided to check out this geocache.
