A weekend of fun with a group of Canberra cachers. The weather was beautiful, cold and clear with little wind and it was a perfect day to be out walking and exploring and enjoying a winter weekend in Bathurst. We signed the logs as CBI24 ( Canberra-Bathurst Invasion 2024)Thanks for all the adventures and efforts to create some fun hides for the Geocaching community. Domsky
Tankengine, Youban and I left Canberra just after lunchtime on Friday and drove straight to Bathurst. We had solved many of the puzzles or at least started the solves before coming. We were looking forward to finding many smilies this weekend and hanging out with our friends. We met up with our friends and signed caches as CBI24 (Canberra Bathurst Invasion 2024). The group included Fitzy_1965, Minniek, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, GLISS!, Tankengine, Youban, Contesta, Domsky, TikvaNZ, Isopeada, Barb2e, and SmittenGranny. We had an awesome dinner at the Kelso Hotel Bistro Friday night. And attended the ever changing event on Saturday night at The Reckless Brewery Co. Breakfast was at a couple of cafes that were all good and lunches wherever we could find it. Our little cabin at the NRMA Paramount caravan park, where there was just enough space for all three of us (just). We slept ok, but the leaky taps needed attention. We had an awesome time and would love another chance to visit Bathurst again another day. This cache: Felt like we have done the hard yards this weekend. Tftc!!!
#22363 @0950Visiting Bathurst for the weekend from Canberra. A convoy of Canberra caches 'raced' around the track collecting all the caches. Cache easily found. Signed as CBI24. TFTC.
The sun is out the sky is blue theres still a bunch of caches to do but with sixteen of us it wont take long Just found this one. Kutgw
Travelling with a group from Canberra as part of a small invasion of Bathurst caches. Caches signed as CBI24 for Canberra Bathurst Invasion 2024. Lots of fun solving the various puzzles and now looking forward to finding lots of caches. Tftc
The target today for Canberra Bathurst Invasion was Mount Panorama and all associated caches. Some of us had already found caches in 2020, but more had appeared, and we hadn't even attempted all that were there back then. After meeting at the Racing Sports Museum and finalising plans, we crowded into just a few cars and headed off to find and sign all caches as CBI24. Thanks to all COs for placing these caches that add real purpose to a lap around the circuit.

We are in Bathurst with The Drovers, Geoturtle37 & Papi4506 for a few days caching and were all looking forward to doing another lap around the track. We had already previously found a lot of caches around here many years ago and we were extremely happy when version 2 had arrived and we had heaps more to find.We continued on from the lookout down to this one trying to imagine what it must be like here on race day while chatting amongst ourselves. We were soon at gz and again it was Papi4506 who came up with the goods and we can happily say that our stamp is now in the log. Thanks for the cache.

As I made my around Mount Panorama today, I drove up a bit closer and parked about 230m away. Enjoyed the lovely walk to GZ, and once there, the cache was found nicely hidden away.

Travelling and caching with RoddyC to Canberra & Bathurst before returning home.
Did not make it all the way down to this one on the escooter as the slope was too steep. Gave it a rest in the car.

Thought I better log a cache or two, the rest can wait. Back in Town for an 80th Bday and what better way to fill in time than with a guided tour of the town (personal sat nav). Thanks, Code1.
Even had the pleasure of a quick chat with Mr. Router later in the day. Already logged a couple of bonus caches so now add the rest to a separate list for follow-up later.
Good to catch up
JABs.

Boy that’s a steep path!!! Thankfully the cache was easily found allowing time to contemplate walking back up using very low gear.
Parked at the top of the mountain and walked down via the board walk. Definitely not as easy getting back up. TFTC
A steep walk down but me old knees made it. Quick find thanks to good coords and hint. Quicker uphill to return to the car. TFTC Scenic Routers
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
A chance to get away for a Canberra Long weekend was taken and so fitzy_1965 and I made plans to head to Bathurst. It was our first try at camping in the back of the GeoMover. Whilst it was chilly, it was much better than having to set up a tent in the freezing cold. Snow is definitely on the way!
It has been a while since we headed up this way as evident by the explosion of unfound caches up this way. Always good to find a Joshwa27 cache or two but turned out to be a lot more this weekend.
All caches were found quickly and easily. Many thanks to all the CO’s.

28,175. Found with minniek during a (mostly) long weekend trip up to the Oberon/Bathurst region hunting "Joshwa27" caches.
With a huge number of new Joshwa27 puzzles being published (and solved by us), and a Canberra only long weekend, we decided to head up to the Oberon/Bathurst region for a trial run of our new Camping Van configuration. Lots of J27 caches and many other ones were the result. So much fun was had this weekend despite the nasty weather coming in on Monday. We were now doing the circuit of Mount Panorama hoping to clean out the area again. Quick find once at GZ. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks Scenic Routers !!
