Found by The Empire + HThe warmth of the day still lingered despite the lack of sunshine, creating a peaceful, almost dreamlike atmosphere as we began our drive this morning. The countryside around us was alive with the freshness of spring, and along the roadside, patches of native orchids peeked out from the undergrowth. Their delicate pinks, whites, and purples added bursts of colour to the landscape, standing out against the green hills and eucalyptus trees. Most of the caches were quick and easy finds, though a few took a bit longer than expected. Thanks for the cache, and the trail OZGrumpy.-M

Find # 14057I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 8. Homeward-bound.Day started off with a tree climb and a big stretch off the ground. Then a bit of a look around Mt Barker. Then it was the trails. It's been a while since I've hit a long trail and being alone it was just me and the caches to fill the rest of the day in. Some power trails are tougher than others, ie parking locations and barriers can be annoying and chew up time. But happily I managed all hurdles. Even the odd orb spider that made some tracks mazes. Happily that what I'd pland out fell into place with only a couple of DNFs.End of day was a surprise with my biggest solo grab of over 300 in a day. But I have plenty more trails in SA to utilise if I want to better that score TFTC OZGrumpy

Geoturtle37 and I are making our way towards The Great Leap Forward. A mega being held just out of Adelaide on February 29th 2024. She is very keen to get a mega on a leap day. There seems to be a lot of Victorians heading across to attend.We had finished the AMP series and moved onto this one, almost without realising the change of cache name. Again, these were nice quick caches to find so we will complete them all if we have time.Thank you for all the work that has gone into setting up the cache pages, putting out this series and now maintaining them for all to enjoy.Please accept our apologies for the generic logs but we have sooooo many to catch up on. Heading towards Adelaide I came across Papi4506 and Geoturtle37 so I stopped for a chat then jumped in a caching convoy to find some caches. This was a neat little series - easy to find. Nice geology lesson too about each river. Thanks for the fun and adventure.

Suscoe was out and about enjoying a day of caching with our very good friends Phetlern.
It was a delightful day, blue skies and sunshine. Hard to imagine it is still Winter.
We found lots of caches today, The AMP Series, The SAR Series, The “Straya” Challenge caches and a few other nearby traditional and multis as we wandered to the North East of Murray Bridge. We had fun using a range of TOTT at a few caches as well.

Today fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out early to get the caches in the area. We signed as MAF or FAM to save room.

Our aim was to collect the nearby Challenges, then the River & Peaks series and anything in between. Once we understood the hints on the River series, it made the finds so much easier….a clever idea. A great day with no DNF’s.

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 14. Today we headed out to drive the Straya series of Challenges plus we also managed to complete the Australian Mountain Peaks (AMP) and South Australian Rivers (SAR) series with a few bonus caches thrown in. A great days caching with no Did Not Finds which was also a bonus. This was the next find of the day, and a quick find once at GZ. Signed, replaced, and then we headed off to the next one on the list.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 15. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 9. Our second day spent in Tailem bend was to target the Straya Challenge series. This did not take all day so we were able to get to the Australian Peaks series and the South Australian Rivers series. It was interesting to see some of the 2014 Mega sites re-used. With the end of the day closing in we targeted a bit of the newer section of Wandering heroes, as usual a wide variety of caches in this series. Today is was Fitzy_195, MinnieK and Albida33 and we signed as F.A.M. or similar.

The hints on the rivers took bit to work out, so that was a fun challenge, but once we worked it out it was a wonderful way to provide some extra information.

Out with Mogni and Allister w for the day. All logs stamped as JAMS. Today's target was to get Mogni closer to 20,000 finds with the aim to get her to 20,000 by the Rutherglen Mega in Victoria. We got 131 finds and 1 DNF for the day. We did the AMP ( Australia Mountain Peaks ) and SAR ( south Australian Rivers ) plus some of the Bindi's GeoMobiles series.

Out with sir_spectre and AllisterW making a small dent in the huge number of caches around Murray Bridge. I am trying to hit a major milestone in April and today was ay target chance to get closer to my goal.

Our last day in Tailem bend with BettyBoo3747 and the geodoggies.
After a big breakfast we completed the new AdLab in town and headed off for the SAR series.
We completed SAR series and a few other caches on the route.

A nice collection of caches and hides.
It was a good idea to put rings and tape to show where the cache should be returned to, it is just unfortunate many cachers don't follow the plan.
The co-ords were good, and where they weren't we searched out the ring to return the cache to hopefully where it should have been. Several were found on the ground (with higher hints).
We eventually located all the hides, (including the great Murray hide!) and really enjoyed the series.

#20234. Day 21 of our holiday in SA . Our last full day here in SA and we awoke to find a new AdLab had been published in town. After a cooked breakfast we headed out in the geo-chariot to tick of the waypoints and see if we could claim FTF. Mission accomplished so off we went to the SAR series whilst it was still a clear day. Managed to pick up a few other caches and finish the series by 1.30pm, just as the first drops of rain were hitting the windscreen. Back at camp and relaxing now before our departure in the morning.

We managed to complete all of these today, thankfully. We discovered quire a few on the ground, managed to return quite a few to their rusty rings, or taped area or cable-tie rings but cache-creep seems to have been happening again. Middle River was 8 metres away so we went to GZ and miraculously found the metal ring and returned it to the correct spot. Harriet River we could not find the ring after finding the container on the ground Siccus River the container had some water in it and the log book was wet (we found it lying on the ground.). Left it at the indicated height. I think the tape on the branch is a great idea as it is a tad easier to spot than the well-camouflaged rusty rings when trying to return the cache to its correct place.

So many rivers, great information and a good series. We noted the different hide and thought it appropriate for a mighty river.

Was being taxi driver for DPA down to The Bend for the Supercars today. Between drop off and pick up it was time for some caching. Main aim was the South Australian Rivers series, a few of the new Wandering Heroes and anything else that needed finding without going too far off the planned route.

This was Day 7 of our trip to SA. I was in the splendid company of Cybergran who assumed chief navigator role again today.
Quite a different series here with novel hides hanging in trees. The height clue helped immensely though about 10 caches were lying on the ground and needed reattachment. These caches did take a lot longer and on a Saturday morning this road was busy. Some hairy parking spots but mostly we managed. Just one DNF where we felt unsafe parking at.
I had no idea SA was flush with this many rivers. Loved your Murray River cache too.

A quick find on our last day at the at Murray Bridge showground before heading to Vic and then to NSW.Thanks OZGrumpy for this trail.

Today we are starting a new journey with Brisal5, our aim is to have a fun day and make loads of memories. Laughing was a main priority and there was plenty of this. We did the Happy Arm Pit series, some more Wandering heroes, SAR, ice-cream and AMP. All caches that needed any repairs were fixed. The short story is that we had a great day. SL TFTC

Muff1 had snuck across the border to hit some power trails and were staying in Tailem Bend at present. Hey, I have a few down there I would like to get - so it was off to meet them for a long day caching. [^] We did some newish ones along Wandering heroes and that led us into the Happy Armpit Series. Early visit to the Tailem Bend Bakery for an early lunch and then it was off for Ice-Cream for dessert followed by South Australian Rivers and Australian Mountain Peaks series. Skipped stopping for any tea and continued unstill after dark by torchlight to finally completes the series.

SAR AND AMP SERIES:
Having gone from 17 to 54 we turned around and went all the way back to the start of the Karoonda Road getting all the caches on our left only.

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again I will trying to get the other two this year. [^] Should be easy as I only have to get two multi caches in July from the lockdown and couldn't get out. [:o)] The other was DNF's that came down from over 50 to the low teens before blowing out again but I really want to see only single a single digit this year.

Hmmm what to do while hubby is in a conference in Murray Bridge?? Cache of course and boy did I cache!! Decided to start OZGrumpy's Australian Mountain Peaks series, and managed to finish it an also get 2/3 of their South Australian River series completed too!! A great day caching in some wet weather. 100 cache finds for me today.

Had a fun caching day today with goingplaces2 and achieved a whole lot more smileys to colour the map. Caches were retrieved, each log was stamped and all was replaced as found. TFTC.

Thought I might get them all but the crappy weather and my inability to quickly locate some of them meant I ran out of time to finish the rivers but I shall be back. Apologies for the generic log

On a fine Saturday I set out with Southern Cross Caching an Uni and Medusa for a day around Murray Bridge. There were a couple of new series published recently and it seemed like a good place for a day out.

We started at the Lonely Lookout Cache, and I think this is the third cache I've found in this location over the years. Then went on to Slow Mail, and a few others around Eastern Murray Bridge.

After an average coffee at OTR we started the Australian Mountain Peak series, with a short side hussle for some bush fishing and then to Sunnyside. Its been years since I found the other cache at Sunnyside, and glad to see its still there. As a kid we used to live nearby and my parents would go skiing and fishing here with friends. I also spent a lot of time hanging around footy ovals on Saturday afternoons while my dad umpired the local games.

Following on from the Mountain Peaks we ventured on to the SAR series. I was thinking South Australian Railways, but it turned out to be rivers. I am surprised that dry South Australia has so many rivers!.

Turning back towards Murray Bridge we caught up on some of the more recent Wandering Heroes, I have met and know a lot of the heroes, but some are still just names and I hope to meet you in future.

Then on to the Hairy Armpit Series, but I misread that and it seems its Happy Armpit Series. The former is funnier

Getting late in the afternoon we still had an hour or so of daylight, so started on the Oz Mega Signal series. This was interesting because I remember riding my bicycle along this stretch of road in the 1970's as a 9 year old participating in a cub camp. We had to ride from Murray Bridge to a farmhouse near where we spent the night in a shed in the farm that fronts number #66, then rode to Jervois Oval the following day. All roads being gravel and having skinny tyres it was a long and grueling ride for a 9 year old. And the night was freezing.

All caches were found except for one DNF, and on the last three caches the rainstorm had finally hit and we were drenched, and it was completely dark. Finding a cache by torch in the bush in the dark in a wind and rain storm, well it stopped being fun and we decided to leave the final cache for another day. Over 200 caches found and this helps with a challenge cache that I've found but not logged in Victoria.

Found at 11:59 on what started out as a perfect caching day with Shonkylogic and Southern Cross Caching. Perfect right up to the last three or so, where it was getting dark, cold, windy and rainy. In the end, that defeated us, even though there was just one cache left in the plan.

We had lunch somehwere along the Karoonda Highway at a picnic table, sandwiches supplied by Southern Cross Caching, chilli sauce supplied by Shonkylogic. The mozzies were a bit troublesome, but nothing compared to SXC's encounter with a snake.

It was so good to get out on one of these runs. There were plenty of old caches which have been on the must-do list for years, but also some newies.

This one was found on a big day out with shonkylogic and Unicycle. Our plan was to knock of the AMP mountain series along with the South Australian Rivers series, then head for the old 2014 Signal series. We almost achieved our goal of all three (after a few additions to the plan) which included a bush fishing expedition, a submarine hunt, quite a few wandering hero’s (including one up a tree) and several other caches here and there along the route but not far out of the way. We also found two down on the river bank at Sunnyside, which was one of several highlights for the day. We started around seven AM and finished after dark in pouring rain and a howling wind which put an end to our day as it was no longer fun, falling short of finishing the signal series but not before reaching a milestone of over 200 finds for each of us for the day. We only had one DNF for the day which was a great find to DNF ratio.

Last week I came out here to find the caches in the Australian Mountain Peak series with Doctor Owl which we enjoyed, not for one moment thinking that we were driving right past the first 18 of this new series. As it turned out the following day this new SA Rivers series was published and a plan was made to come out today to find all the rivers, some of which I had not heard of until now. [^]

Again another well thought out and presented series with caches mostly easily spotted with the hints helping in a lot of cases. As others have said we did have trouble with one and after searching for well over half an hour we had to make a PAF as there were lots of geo trails and we just could not spot that cache. After 2 phone calls we had very explicit instructions and soon spotted the well hidden cache.

It was a lovely day for another drive in the country and after we had finished the series we headed in to Tailem Bend for a late lunch stopping for a couple of caches along the way, then a few more before heading home via a coffee with CPwanderer.

Most caches were found quickly with only one initially eluding us. We returned after finding the remaining caches and thankfully Clare spotted the cache not too long after we resumed our search.
The weather was perfect and we even managed to find a picnic table for lunch.

Located on a great day out with Gizmos Gang and clare007!!! Excellent coordinates and a nice wide vegetation verge made for an enjoyable wander!! All apart from #44 were quickly located ... in that case we had to return after finishing the others for a second and more successful look. We ran into Ghosty7, Freddo and Gridge98 also out on the trail. Thanks OZGrumpy for a great series!!

The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Easter 2020 was supposed to see South Australia Geocaching hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Due to COVID restrictions the event is now postponed to early October 2021. Check out the event page and our website for new details. We would love to see you at this four day event. Mega event sponsored by Wattle Range Council, Geocaching.com and many other supporters. Lots of caches to find with two classic geo art trails including the famous animated bottle and glass.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

This was a great series, all the cache were found and some took some time to find but a lot of work had gone into this, hopefully the caches last and won’t blow off the hooks, all the cache were either signed with G + F or F + G

Today I headed to Murray bridge with Freddo to complete the two new series: south Australian river and the Australia peaks. Plus a few others in the area before going for a walk near Monarto to find a few of the new series.
All up 128 finds for the day.

Poked my head outside and saw a gorgeous blue sky and sun shining, great day for caching I thought, so grabbed the pup and off we headed for a few more in this series, along the way I came across three suspicious characters walking out from behind some trees , I know those smiles I said to pup - it was CPwanderer, Gizmo's gang and Clare007., after a bit of a natter we headed off on our separate ways, I only drove a couple of Km's up the road and there spotted a vehicle pretty quickly sussed out they were more cachers, unable to stop there were horns blasting and smiling waves as we passed each other. a great day was had. A cold start to a beautiful sunny Winter’s day had us heading to the recently published Rivers of South Australia power trail.

All caches had good coords and were in excellent condition. Being South Australian ourselves we were very familiar with many of the rivers but there were still one or two we hadn’t heard of.

We feel sure we probably encountered the Driver River while caching around Arno Bay but cannot recall it.

We saw something that raised our suspicions as we followed our GPS towards GZ. As we got close we knew we needed to investigate further and soon had a cache container in hand. Again we had a blank log book and another {FTF} at 13:09

Thanks for another good hide in this series OZGrumpy. These hides look suspicious to geocachers but muggles notice usually nothing out of the ordinary.
