Out and about caching with Cheezel and WayneAPN while on a trip to the Riverland.Cache found and log stamped
The 3 Stooges are at it again. Out on the long weekend hunting caches. We wanted to head north for some high T caches that required a 4WD, but it didn't quite work out, so an alternative plan was hatched. The Riverland.Aimed for some High Terrain caches and caches that have been unloved for some time, years in fact, and with very few finders. Some were quite tricky to solve and took a bit of head scratching and a few other body parts.Plus, some others of interest along the way.Always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderie, and home made cake. All caches found and stamped. If some caches required maintenance, this was done. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and publishing these caches. Made for an adventurous weekendTFTC SL
The original plan was to head to the Argadells north of Port Augusta but the logistics simply didnt work out for us.So its Plan B, the Riverland So here we are, The 3 Stooges, WayneAPN (or as we call him That Numbers Guy), weredunn4 ( Mr Adventure) and myself are hitting the Riverland for some targeted high T caches, plus many many others along the way.Suffice to say, these are always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderieAll caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC
Find # 15762Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 5. After a cold night at the Maggea Oval.. I was off on another days hunting. But decided to turn things around as I started in Loxton (after getting supplies) and tackle the trail backwards from original plan. TFTC honeysucker
We stayed at Berri for a few days R&R and, of course, found some smileysTFTC
Sedan to BerriStaying at Martin Bend for a few days, a lovely coolbreeze comming off the water. An AL in all the neighbouring towns & caches to find as we pass them by.This was a great way to visit the area. Thanks honeysucker for hiding this cache.
Today we're trying to fill in a few of our gaps in the top section of the Wandering Heroes. This one was a quick find with the aid of good coordinates, loved the container. TFTC
Such a cute cache minder but beady eyes were a but freaky. Saw a snake and two BIG bobtails.
Found this with my muggle husband on our way home from Mildura to the Adelaide Hills. TFTC TNLNSL
Out to find a few more worthy wandering hero geocachers. Cache and log in a good state, no maintenance required. TFTC honeysucker. Slowly turning all of the caches into smileys.
Always find those cache guardians spooky.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 20. Blackwood SA trip Day 1. After almost three weeks of big caching in teams and with friends, it was time for my last companions Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK to head home. I had one more stop before Adelaide and headed off to Blanchetown area. After waving farewell, I went out for an hour or so in the area just south of Loxton to see what I could find before heading off. The drive to Blanchetown was not long, but I took a break in Wakerie. After setting up I headed into town to have dinner at the pub, even though two of the three van parks are closed due to damage from the flooding over Christmas.
The morning was spent crisscrossing back roads to the South of Loxton. Some were quite remote and sandy.
Thanks for the cache honeysucker

On my way down to Murray Bridge getting more of the Wandering heroes trail that have appeared since I was here last. Staying in Karoonda tonight.
Being based in Loxton for a couple of days was an ideal opportunity to look for the two Wandering Heroes caches near where we were staying. We haven't met SeasonedBird in our travels but have seen the caching name in a few logs.
Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks honeysucker for the cache.

*Another big geocaching trip to Australia with woolwood9.*
Our main focus was on the "On Your Bike" Wherigo series, which we really enjoyed.
Biggest disappointment was solving all the Paddle Steamer puzzles, then driving within 4km of them before finding the roads all completely turned to sticky slush and unusable!
*We visited many other good caches and other trails on our trip and had a lot of fun!*
**Really appreciate the effort put into this cache.**

Another cache find on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. It is a wonderful day, just perfect for geocaching.
Today it's off to visit a few more Wandering Heroes. We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs & wine. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.

It's always a good season when there are birds in the sky! Good to see you have made the series.
This was found on part of an 8 EVENT MADNESS in 3 state trip with four-fun. We cached, we kept hydrated, labbed, swagged and we paddled. Most of all we met lots of people an made new friends.
Thanks to honeysucker and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

Travelling with SpidermonkeysMum and CPwanderer for the weekend. Our goal being the tri-state events and whatever caches we can also find along the way.
After breakfast at Berri and lunch at Wentworth we headed back to Victoria for the next event (with some stops for caches and Adventure Labs along the way).
This was one of the caches that we found on our way to Berri. Loved the camo!

Big weekend on the road! Overnighted in mega town (Murray bridge) after chasing some large caches for a challenge I have been working on for many years. Also made it to 4000 cache finds
Picked up CPWanderer and gizmos gang bright and early to get to Berri fir Brekky, Wentworth for lunch and back to Mildura for dinner. Then another Brekky and a cito the following day. Well that’s the plan anyway.
We are picking up whatever caches we can on the way, over 300 to chose from the CP hasn’t found and probably the odd one he has (that doesn’t include the PS series) which will have to wait to return for.
Apologies for the generic log, but where possible I will return to add a comment.
Thank you for placing it for us to find. Thank you for contributing to the geo map and maintaining when required. TFTC

Staying in Renmark for a short holiday, caching around where we travel. Today we targeted some powertrails just out of Loxton and any others along the route. 155 caches found today. This cache is one that was found today.
Just like Paul, we also met Roz at the Millicent mega last year, maybe because they travel together. Love the fittingly themed cache for a great cacher.
Find #4418 on 19 Jul 2022.

Heading to Karoonda and surrounds for some geocaching. My first visit to this area so huge amounts of unfound caches waiting for me.
A large assortment of AMP, Wandering Heros and independent caches tackled. The caches found were selectively chosen either to fill missing cells in my 360 degrees from home grid (5 times around) or due to favourite points.
Lots of different cache owners meant lots of different cache containers many with unique themes which made the day very enjoyable.
Thanks for the cache honeysucker.

Where is Roz?
The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

I first met Roz at the st arnaud mega in 2019 but the account didn’t exist then. An incredible woman with many trips under her belt
A trip to Victoria with Freddo for 3 days to complete the paddle steamer and find a few caches in Mildura and along the way to and from, all the caches were signed respective of the day FG23, FG24, FG25 or our own caching names.
Total of 468 finds for the trip
Thanks for a great series

Back on the highway to update my "found" collection of the interesting wandering heroes series. Thanks honeysucker.
Found during a road trip via Wentworth, Menindie Lakes, Wilcannia, Cobar, Bourke, Yowah and Cunammulla to Charleville and back over 10 days. Thanks for the cache honeysucker!
TFTC honeysucker. We had completed the On Your Bike Series yesterday. Another hot day was being predicted. So we left camp early. To head down the road to chase some Wandering Heros and any other caches nearby. A great couple of hours. We have spent time with Seasoned Bird at a couple of Happy Hours and have cached with her before the Wang. Mega.

The forecast temperature today was listed as reaching 39 degrees so we planned our cacheing day around spending maxium time in the A/C in the car and minium time out walking trails. Today it was fantastic that we did not find that we needed to renew any cache containers or log books/sheets. Well done everyone. All the caches we targeted today were found to be in good order.
There was, of course, the mandatory flies and dust and more dust and more flies, we can live with this as we have the technology to deal with the flies and dust.
We did encounter roads that we have never travelled on before and were very surprised when we came across a water way at Bugle Hut that had at least 300 swans on it. We traveled down a road that had the strangest collection of items attached to the trees, there was fans, lamps, boom box, frypan, stuffed toys, CD's with red reflectors, asstd computers bits - monitor keyboard etc. It felt like every road had an old house on it. We saw house's where the lawns were so green while all the land around them were as brown as can be.

Nothing like the lure of a 40 degree day out there to make us want to go caching!
Actually every day we want to go caching
So took off with Mr froghoppin for some "east of Loxton" caching. Got a bit sidetracked and made a small incursion into Mexico along the way
Altogether a great day finding caches, mostly that were within reach of the airconditioned catmobile, and dodging any sign of people and their bugs along the way [:o)]
Again we met Ms Seasoned Bird not too long ago. Lovely to meet up!
(Cats always like a seasoned bird )
Appreciation goes to honeysucker for placing and maintaining this cache on our geo game map

Searching around every day finding and signing using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Quite a lot of that actually!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*
---
Please do stay as safe as possible when caching.
Keep a lookout for bogs, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now our borders are open - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Much appreciation of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

Here we go caching in Twenty Twenty Too

Out with Mattycat for a caching trip to the riverland for the day, with temperatures 40 C we decided to pick some easier caches that didnt involve walking to far and keeping cool in the geomobile. With Loxton our starting point we head east to the Border even crossed the border for a few in the park before thunderstorms ended the day. Been a while since we were last on the WH trail, collected another three whilst passing through and this was one of them, had the pleasure of meeting this team at a recent event in the riverland, dropped off a couple of TB's

Cute hide! Nice to meet Seasoned bird recently. Thank you, honeysucker; cache #4002.
Today the JAMS crew was out and about to complete the Wandering Heroes series. JJ52, mogni, Sir Spectre, tallbikestan and I met at the crack of dawn on a predicted hot day. We worked great as a team to find the remaining caches of the series as well as a few caches before it and a few after it. I was mainly the driver today and I filled up the car at Murray Bridge before the first find and from then on I didn't turn the car of until we had done finding and headed back to Tailem Bend, when we got to Tailem Bend and had 4kms of fuel left which added a adrenaline rush to the day. Thanks to all the CO's and the cachers that are a reason for another find. The JAMS crew hid a JAMS cache today to add to the series.
Out on another JAMS day with allister w, mogni, sir_spectre and tallbikestan targeting the rest of the Wandering Heroes that we didn't finish last time we were out this way. We started off in Murray Bridge then stopped off at the Happy Armpit series before heading to Sandalwood where we left off previously. [^] After finishing the Wandering Heroes and some others that we went past we zig zagged back to Tailem Bend finding some random caches in random locations which all added to the fun of the day. It was pretty hot and the car air conditioner got a good workout, but that didn't stop us even though I was quite tired by the end of the day.
Thanks for the cache honeysucker.
Thanks for the cache honeysucker.
Out with the JAMS crew for our monthly caching run. This run was with JJ52, Allister w, Mogni and sir_spectre plus Tallbikestan but minus Michells&hound. All logs today where stamped as mystery randoms. Todays target was to do the armpit series then finish the Wandering Heroes trail where we left it uncompleted at sandal wood last time and then slowly cache the back roads back to Karoonda. The wandering heroes trail was in a poorer state then last time and that is saying some thing. This time out of 104 caches on the trail including a few stray trads beside the freeway we replaced 18 caches that where found broken/cracked but surprisingly almost al the logbooks where saved and less then a hand full of logbooks on this section were full and needed replacing. It was nice to see some of the caches still themed after all this years. Also good to see a few large caches out here. A good day out even if it was 35 degrees. Some time along the Wandering Heroes i got my 15,000 find as well.
Out for a Sunday drive with the JAMS team plus one. JJ52, allisterW, mogni, sir_spectre and tallbike stan. We were targtting the last of the wandering heroes and then doing a few others along the way. Any caches that needed maintence were fixed along the way.
Thanks to honeysucker from mogni

Out on caching adventures on the ‘On Your Bike’ trail with Wollaston and caching megastars Liz&Bruce and we happen across two newly published *FTF* caches on the Wandering Hero’s trail, one for geohubby Wollaston and this one for an occasionally salty chook!
So happy to be sharing not only a joint FTF with Liz and Bruce, but a shared love of a good chat, spontaneity in travel, wine and food (and bakeries!)
I met Bruce and lovely Liz in Cunnamulla in Sept ‘21 at the QOGM event and with geohubby we were convinced to change our travel plans from WA via NT to travelling with this awesome couple. We spent two and a half months together starting with an adventure down the Strzeleki Track, did GeoVenture in Millicent and travelled all over Adelaide, the Barossa and Riverland districts, the Yorke and Fleurieu Peninsula’s and the fabulous Kangaroo Island clocking up over 4,500 finds together. Even more special was being with Liz and Bruce as they marked the milestones of 67,000 68,000 69,000 and 70,000 finds (40,000 Aussie finds) making our time together all that more special.
Thanks to the many hands and minds taking time to set out and maintain hides and for showing us your special part of the world
