Reperio 14:58Day 6 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I today travelled from just outside of the ACT to home in Orange. With a number of caches left to do around Murrumbateman and Yass, we stopped by a few in this area before taking an extended route back home to Orange. Day 15 of my interstate trip. Today I left Grenfell and continued to head closer to Sydney. Tonight I stayed in the Mount York Campground unfortunately it was dark when I arrived so had to wait till morning to see how nice the views from this spot. I managed to find 19 caches today and ended up with 3 DNF's today.Nice quick one as I came in to Cowra.TFTC tandm86

It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Cowra trip Winter 2023 Day 1. I have been watching the growing number of caches in and around Cowra so I felt it was time to head out there and see how I could go trying to find them. The Canberra weather was pretty dreary, but it got nicer the further west I went. The caching was a bit up and down, I was happy to find some rally difficult caches, but then failed to find others. Late on the first day there was a huge storm downpour, so I was happy to be able to retreat into a hotel room for the night and have a great dinner downstairs in the front bar.

This was a nice quick drive by.

Bathurst to Cowra. Staying at the showground.
It started with a very rainy day but at we neard Carcoar the weather started to clear. So we didn't do any of the caches we had planned to do along the road.
The other incident that happened in front of us, was a cow falling form the top of a cattle truck. Awfull to see such an injured animal.
There were so many new caches here, since we last visited.
Cowra is certainly an interesting town, this showed in the amazing locations that we found caches around town

1600kms drive from Brisbane to canberra - with an overnight roadside camp halfway. Picked up a few new counties this trip, including this one in a very busy town.

We decided that it was time to go on a day trip to Cowra to look for some of the new caches that had popped up in the area since we were last there. Texted Rapidlywild to see if she was interested in joining us on for the journey. It was a pretty cold day with the winds but thankfully no rain which was a bonus. No DNF's for us today which was a great and all caches were found pretty quickly and we managed to get all of the caches we targeted with a couple of labs thrown in for good measure.

The FFLL ladies had decided they wanted to go on a little tiki tour around Cowra and reached out with an invite, yes please It was a cold day however the rain held off and we were able to achieve our target area and managed to clean up again for a while. We completed 2 labs and a heap of trads and assorted caches which included an unexpected FTF.

Caching my way across southern QLD, road tripping and trying to avoid the wet weather and flooding in various parts of the country.

Fitzy_1965 and I decided to head to Cowra for the weekend. We had a late sleep in then hit the road.

As it has been a few years since we were last here, there has been a nice number of new caches in the area. Fitzy had kept himself busy by doing all the puzzling before headed out. Always good to find a Joshwa27 cache or two along with caches by others along the way.

We had a fun couple of days and found a nice camp spot for our second night in using the van instead of our tent. Definitely warmer than Bathurst last weekend.

All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Many thanks to the CO’s.

Over many years of caching runs around and through Cowra I have come to really enjoy this town with some amazing history. We had previously - after many visits - finally 'cleaned out' Cowra, so it was fantastic to see many new caches by Joshwa27 and tandm86 (plus some others) appearing everywhere. So much so that we decided on a last minute run up this way this weekend. A post lunchtime departure from Goulburn led to a mid afternoon arrival in Cowra where we knocked off about 16 caches. This was the next one. Quick find at GZ. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed to the next one on our list.

I was able to park within maybe 50cm of this cache?? i could almost reach it from sitting in my car! A quick park and grab and my LAST cache of this trip. I proceeded to drive straight home after this!

**Today:**

Day 20...... the FINAL day of my Townsville Mega road trip!

After an excellent sleep at the Mendooran Free Camp, I was excited to be on the last leg to Canberra more than anything else! Although I still got a little bit distracted by caching of course, and managed to pick up 12 more caches along the way!

Still managed to get home early afternoon, my shortest day of the whole trip for a much needed rest! All I had to do now is start logging several hundred caches.... phew!

It was an excellent trip, thanks to all the CO's from today
