Cache found here. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. A quick find here, cache is all goodHeaded over to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra, ACT with Freddo over 5 days, travelling through the central part of NSW before caching around the hinterlands. A nice few days over with great weather. Thanks for the cache
We are on our way to the Capital Geobash Canberra 2024. Rain and tents arent ideal bedmates so we hotfooted it to Cowra. Weve been here a few days caching and organising for Canberra. Today we are trying to get as many traditionals as we can as we need only 26 more for a challenge cache in Canberra.Replaced log here. Thanks tandm86 for placing and maintaining this cache.
Tftc, out and about around Cowra today Plenty of new caches since we were last here All good here
No container or log, just a pen. Replaced with a temporary container and log. Best accessed from road.
With Dot558 after looking at pow camp, we found the pen but didn't do us any good as the cache eluded us today.2dnf this morningTime to get a coffee

The second day of our geo adventure holiday, after camping down by the river at Darby Falls, we set off to explore the Cowra region as it is somewhere we have never ventured and with lots of history to explore
Well, this holiday is all about taking the time to see some of the amazing gems that you find while geocaching

We really enjoy the walks in the old camp and appreciate the caches here. Thanks.
This area is a great favourite of ours and the caches to find add to the pleasure. Thanks tandm86.
Cowra trip Winter 2023 Day 2. I have been watching the growing number of caches in and around Cowra so I felt it was time to head out there and see how I could go trying to find them. The Canberra weather was pretty dreary, but it got nicer the further west I went. The caching was a bit up and down, I was happy to find some really difficult caches, but then failed to find others. The second day was a time to visit the War cemetery and the POW camp. I have not been as far into either as much before. I managed to find all but one of the caches I tried today. I had an uneventful drive home and it got wetter as I went. I wonder where I will go next ?
There have not been many simple caches today, this is as close as it came to an easy road side find.
Thanks for the cache tandm86

#20959. Day 3 of a short holiday over the border in NSW with Robmc and the geodoggies. Spent the night in Cowra on the banks of the river (in the caravan park) and awoke to a frosty morning that soon turned into a glorious Autumn day. Plenty of caching around town, scenery to admire and Cowra's war history to immerse ourselves in, walks to be had and cycle paths that will encourage us to bring the bikes on our next visit.
The cache page descriptions seem to be getting briefer and briefer. Found the cache and continued up the hill to the tower.
Thanks tandm86

Left Yass early for a mini road trip to Cowra so allrounder could do Parkrun. We decided to spend a few hours picking up some caches after she finished. Plenty of caches in the area so we will have to return to get some more.
4th find of the day. We decided to return to make this find after everyone had left Parkrun. Thank you for bringing us here.

Together with my son, I am on a camping trip from Sydney to Broken Hill and back. On our 3000 km journey over 11 days we have seen some wonderful little towns, beautiful landscapes and many interesting geocaches.
Driving through the Peace precinct we picked up some new caches that have been put out since we were here the last time around.
TFTC.

Cowra. Staying at the showground. Day 2
Cowra is certainly an interesting town, this showed in the amazing locations that we found caches around town. Although we did comment on the many micro caches in town.
Glad we cached in the morning as by lunch time it had started to rain again
Thankyou to all the CO's for placing these caches.

In Cowra for the weekend on our way to Barmera for the 18th National Caravan Rally.
Have been to Cowra previously and it is very hot today, so only out to see the new murals on the water tanks and collect a few new caches in the POW camp area.
Thanks tandm86 and topia18.

In the area overnight on the way to the Bathurst 12 Hour Race grabbing some caches around town TFTC
Went to the Japanese POW camp this afternoon. Found this one easily. Thanks for setting this series of caches. For some reason there were a lot of flies around, so we cut our visit short and didn't look for all the caches, nor did we spend much time at some.

Headed out to Cowra today to grab a few caches, and on the way back out of town, we stopped by this one. The son enjoyed jumping out and grabbing this one, and he spotted it quickly even though it was tucked out of sight.

We decided that it was time to go on a day trip to Cowra to look for some of the new caches that had popped up in the area since we were last there. Texted Rapidlywild to see if she was interested in joining us on for the journey. It was a pretty cold day with the winds but thankfully no rain which was a bonus. No DNF's for us today which was a great and all caches were found pretty quickly and we managed to get all of the caches we targeted with a couple of labs thrown in for good measure.
No issues with this one. Signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the hide tandm86 and thanks for a good day out Rapidlywild.

The FFLL ladies had decided they wanted to go on a little tiki tour around Cowra and reached out with an invite, yes please It was a cold day however the rain held off and we were able to achieve our target area and managed to clean up again for a while. We completed 2 labs and a heap of trads and assorted caches which included an unexpected FTF.
A nice easy find here, signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the hides tandm86 And thanks to the FFLL ladies for a fun day out and about around Cowra [^].

Fitzy_1965 and I decided to head to Cowra for the weekend. Day 2 saw us up early and on the road again after a quick stop at the Golden Arches for a coffee.
As it has been a few years since we were last here, there has been a nice number of new caches in the area. Fitzy had kept himself busy by doing all the puzzling before headed out. Always good to find a Joshwa27 cache or two along with caches by others along the way.
We had a fun couple of days and found a nice camp spot for our second night in using the van instead of our tent. Definitely warmer than Bathurst last weekend.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Many thanks to the CO’s.

28,235. Found with minniek during a fun weekend run up to Cowra.
Day 2. Over many years of caching runs around and through Cowra I have come to really enjoy this town with some amazing history. We had previously - after many visits - finally 'cleaned out' Cowra, so it was fantastic to see many new caches by Joshwa27 and tandm86 (plus some others) appearing everywhere. So much so that we decided on a last minute run up this way this weekend. After a toasty night in our van, we headed out to try for the rest of the new caches in Cowra. This was the next one. Quick find at GZ (found on the ground - replaced in the obvious hidey hole). Stamped the log, replaced the cache, then headed to the next one on our list.
Thanks tandm86 !!
