TFTC!Making a trip to Karoonda today and stopped to pick up a couple caches along the way.Giving this one a fave point, not for the cache itself but for the location. My great-grandmother lived just a few metres down the road from here and as a child, I would spend my school holidays with her.Back then this road was not bitumen, but a nice quiet dirt road. And in the afternoons we'd go for wander with her dog. She'd tell stories about my Dad and how he and his brothers would slide down the sand hills like they were slippery dips.
Apologies for the late log, we have just come back from a 10 day holiday in SA and Western Vic and spent as much time with family as possible so no time for logging lolWe are on holidays in SA and have spent the past 4 days catching up with JMelbs family in Adelaide (and only found 2 caches during those 4 days!!) Today (30/9) we checked out of our accommodation with the intention of finding some local caches then some of the Wandering Heroes caches on the way to Karoondah, our destination for the night. We had lunch at the Train Park at Tailem Bend and and then set off to do the Wandering Hero Caches, We found about 15 of the WH series but time was getting on so we decided we should make our way to Karoondah and check in to the Caravan Park. We then set off to find caches around the town of Karoondah and this was the first - We easily calculated GZ and set off there and the cache was a nice easy find. There were in fact 2 identical cache containers at GZ!!TFTC OZGrumpy - GJMMelb
Left the van at the RV Park and out exploring. Quick calcs and an easy find Thanks OZGRUMPY for this multi Tftc
Time for another Tuesday Trekking, for a trio of Confused Puzzlers. The trio consisted of SA Sewer Rats, ttrogg and Brisal5.Plan A, ttrogg to pick up the Rat from her nest, then head out to Brisal5's place.Change geomobiles, and to Loxton, to have lunch and cache.Change of plans, plan B.Head to Alawoona, for lunch and caches, maintenance.Hmm an other change of plans. Plan C.Let's start at Paruna, have lunch and start caching and maintenance.Nice to have an easy multi to solve. We stopped to have a quick set of tennis.we won the match and found the cache.Stamped the logbook and returned the cache where we found it. TFTC
Something special or unusual goes here:More courts than I imagined. Quick find and sign too. The Generic Bit:The usual trio of puzzle solvers were available for Tuesday Trekking today. Ttrogg and Mrs. S.A. Sewer Rats Starfishes pond today so we could set out eastwards to do some maintenance on the Wandering Heroes trail and of course collect a few caches on the way.. A lot of driving and quite a few caches visited and checked or maintained, yet we were still able to have a full day of laughs, adventures and a picnic lunch. ***Thanks OZGrumpy for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
To end a brilliant June Long Weekend event, we did some final few caches on the way home. TFTC!
I do enjoy a good GSM, today after having the co ords we stopped at GZ where the cache was found and is all goodThis weekend Courtneyrose_ and I headed to Lameroo for the annual June long weekend event, along the way we stopped to find a few caches as well as finding some in the local, the last day we detoured home by some more unfound caches. Thanks for the cache
Good facilities. Having a blast with weirdobiker, Riddells and gregandjudy AKA VIC BANDITS to save space. And exploring our vast country. Really enjoying the far away horizons and this flat country that is so different to home base at higher altitudes. Im on a multi mission having headed west to the JLW event in Lameroo via Curyo so here I am chipping away at the mad 20 caches in each LGA challenge plus lots more. TFTC and the fun.
Found with Greg and Judy, Ronice88 and Weirdobiker under the banner of Vic Bandits on the SA JLWE event at Lameroo. This is our generic log, anything exceptional will be added.TFTC
We are in Lameroo for the annual JLWE event which is the Lameroos Ludicrous Legwarmer event this year with an 80s theme.Out and about with Ronice88, Riddell and gregandjudy to collect this series of caches which are quite a way from home. We are signing as Vic Bandits todaySorry for the generic logs this group of caches. Quickly got the numbers and another multi to add to the telly
We enjoyed a few days away from home, enjoying the scenery, the people we met and, of course, finding cachesThanks to all who made this and enjoyable week.
[^] [:o)] Went for a weekend with another Zenior Zombie... and Jack. Planned a bit of JLWE mischief [:o)] And we're not grumpy because we found your cache! Thank you OZGrumpy for this cache hide and ongoing care and maintenance ---------------- ----------------------In a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and solid caches falling from trees - - - a cache a day keeps us agile... sort of --------Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)]----------Cache carefully and make sure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Clean as you go and cache the countryside Big thanks to those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas, in nice safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun for all Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!! Maybe not though - as someone actually did read to the end and alerted me to just a project GC badge that requires long logs [:o)] Well at least it's not as bad as finding a mint tin! Did you get that... stop putting out rusty mint tins, just stop it, now!!! C'est fini... For now... ... until tomorrow! PS:Don't forget to put the SA June Long Weekend in your diary for 2024 too... leap back into the 80s - GCAK1D5 - Lameroo's Ludicrous Legwarmers
Heading to Lameroo for some JLWE planning by following an unfound cache route with Mattycat, with temps for the weekend over 40 degrees we had the car nice and cool plenty of fluids and hopefully some quick finds, a nice easy calc and off to GZ for a nice straight forward findTFTC OZGrumpy
Find # 14323I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 8. Homeward-bound.Day started off with a tree climb and a big stretch off the ground. Then a bit of a look around Mt Barker. Then it was the trails. It's been a while since I've hit a long trail and being alone it was just me and the caches to fill the rest of the day in. Some power trails are tougher than others, ie parking locations and barriers can be annoying and chew up time. But happily I managed all hurdles. Even the odd orb spider that made some tracks mazes. Happily that what I'd pland out fell into place with only a couple of DNFs.End of day was a surprise with my biggest solo grab of over 300 in a day. But I have plenty more trails in SA to utilise if I want to better that score TFTC OZGrumpy
Quickly found with Nibletricecakes on Day 6 of our Adelaide Leap Year Mega trip. TFTC.
Tailem Bend Day3 Camped at the Waterfront Caravan ParkToday we continues our journey along the Heroes Trail one we had started some years ago.We chose a small section, found many good hides many reflcting the geocaching owner. Thanks OZGrumpy for hiding this cache.
More tennis based caching. Two in a row. Like the containers here. Neat work as ususal.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. On a caching trip with Feathertop, McLookers and GoodLook. What a fun trip. The weather was warm and so was the company. We can really recommend staying in the 'new' Karoonda Tourist Park - the cabin was fantastic (and solar powered/kind on the environment).
Thanks so much for placing this cache.

Was being taxi for Don't Panic Arthur at The Bend today and made good use of the time between drop off and pick up by adding to my smilie count from the surrounding area. Made sure I got the twelve new Wandering Heroes that had appeared since my last taxi duties and found quite a few others as well. This was one of 36 for the day.
This was the second, and last, from the nice GSM series for the day and now have only 7 more to find to complete the full set of 110 currently available.
Thanks to OZGrumpy for putting out this cache.

Suscoe was out for another day of caching with our very good friends Phetlern. It was a cloudy and rainy day at times with lots of cloud and wind. It was so different to yesterday.
We continues to found lots of caches, with finds along the Wandering Heroes trail, The Armpits series and the Ice Cream Series along with a few other nearby caches and Adventure Labs as we wandered the countryside.
We enjoyed finding these caches and we had a fun day out.
Thanks to OZGrumpy for this Tennis activity.

Pa and I are on the move from Pinnaroo to Karoonda. Originally I suggested a day trip out from Pinnaroo to the caches at Marama so that I could pick up another LGA. Pa noticed the Silo Art in Karoonda and so we have camped here for the night.
We arrived in time for a cuppa then took an amble up the beautiful walkway into town. After lunch I commandeered the car and set out after as many of the remaining caches around town as I could. This was one of them.
All caches were found in good condition unless a comment is made.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 51. Mid North section of SA trip Day 22. Mount Barker 2. Today and yesterday and tomorrow are really transitional to me getting to Mildura in time to do the Paddle Steamer with friends from Canberra. I journeyed to a spot about 35km South of Loxton near a location called Veitch via Murray Bridge an Karoonda for lunch. Before I left I spent an hour or so near Mount Barker having a final go at a few multis with difficulties and other local caches. The rain started while I was out and did not let up for the rest of the day. As I traveled, I did manage to stop a few times, getting wetter all the time, but I was keen to find some caches. At the final stop for the day I found a remote patch of roadside rest area and sat quietly till it was time to leave the next day.
In Karoonda, I did two multi's, both GZs the opposite sides of town, but two good finds.
Thanks for the cache OZGrumpy

Stay at Murray Bridge for two nights with Everlasting and Found the cache and logged the log with Everlasting OZGrumpy, Thank you so much for placing it.
Accompanied with crank1, we enjoyed the trip and detour find it and sign the log. Thanks for the cache and hunt.
On my way down to Murray Bridge getting more of the Wandering heroes trail that have appeared since I was here last. Staying in Karoonda tonight.
After looking at the weather last night, I thought today might be a good one to head out and find a few caches. Looking at the map for somewhere to go, I noticed a small cluster of multis that I hadn’t found, including a new and as yet unfound cache, so decided to head out this way.
This morning I headed off reasonably early after breakfast. The required information was soon collected and final coordinates calculated. Then it was off to GZ just a short distance away for a quick find.
Thanks OZGrumpy for the cache.

*Another geocaching adventure with woolwood9.*
Our main focus was on the "On Your Bike" Wherigo series, which we really enjoyed.
Biggest disappointment was solving all the Paddle Steamer puzzles, then driving within 4km of them before finding the roads all completely turned to sticky slush and unusable!
*We visited many other good caches and other trails on our trip and had a lot of fun!*
**Really appreciate the cache owners effort putting this container out.**
We soon located the hide.

Found by Mary and David at 17:10. Definitely our last for the day. Always a relief when the numbers reveal a cache. Our thanks to OZGrumpy.
While on our way east with ilook4geo for a couple of days, we stopped here to pick up this multi cache, which proved to be an easy find. The log had both names added to mark our visit and all was returned to place before we continued on to the next cache. Thanks for this cache placement go to OZGrumpy.
Happy to be out caching with goingplaces2 and adding some more smiley faces to the map. Log was signed and replaced. TFTC.

We were on our way home after a big couple of days in Berri, Wentworth and Mildura and decided we needed a stop to find a couple of caches here that have popped up since our last visit. [^]
We met pineapplegoldy at the Post Office and he joined us here. Numbers for this one were quickly sorted and we headed to GZ for a quick find.

Last cache of the day we worked this one out on the road and then with Pineapplegoldy we all made the find together at GZ. Still got so many to find in this series it’s the gift that keeps on giving! TFTC OzGrumpy
Luckily I had my mate with me. He reckons he's no good at tennis - so I asked him for a game and put 100 bucks on it. He told me to go down the road further to find the cache. Politely.
This was found on part of an 8 EVENT MADNESS in 3 state trip with four-fun. We cached, we kept hydrated, labbed, swagged and we paddled. Most of all we met lots of people an made new friends.
Thanks to OZGrumpy and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
