Was a quick and easy find. Also hard to fathom that the rowing club has been there for over 140yrs, so much for rising water levels.
Last caching stop for the day as we continue west. Mrs y'stassie enjoyed the walk along the river bank reading the info plaques and watching the cockies squabbling with the the magpies and their neighbours. Every hole in ever tree appeared to be occupied by a pair of cockies. Loved the information on the learn to swim classes in the early 1900's. The rowing club look to have some great facilities. As there was some coming and goping at the rowing club she had to wait for an opportunity to carry out a search. She is not very tall and the cache was hidden just on her height limit. Once she got her fingers tips on the container she managed to manoever it into a position from where she could get a firm grasp on it and lift it from the hide. After signing the log everything was restored to the hiding spot. Thanks for the cache tassieexpat. A well hidden cache at the end of a short walk along a riverside path with many interesting information boards highlighting some very informative pieces of local history. The board at the cache placement made interesting reading. We hope another once in 100 year flood is just that. We have added a favourite point for an enjoyable alround experience.
Another find for us 2 today admiring the water view whilst staying here at the RV Camp.Love this little hide well done very different. TFTC
It's always a good spot to stop and give your eyes a rest!Found on the road getting ready for the JLWE. The footy was on hope the best team wins! Thanks tassieexpat for showcasing this area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Our last one of this series we located this afternoon and found the gz quite interesting with the local history highlighted about the Wimmera River, again another different type of cache container we came across today. Many thanks tassieexpat for the hide and for the series that we have done so far, will return again next time we are out this way for sure.
I found this geocache during a recent trip, however, for sme reason my log didn't automatically upload from my GPS as it is programmed to.Thanks for your cache hide and the effort that you put into maintaining it,
Found at 12:42 PM GAFF1.Arrived at the recreational reserve and were pleased to see that we could camp for free here. Set up the van, had some lunch of home made pastrami on sourdough bread and then off to explore the area. We were last here in 2017 doing honeysucker's The J539 cache which on reading our log we had a lot of fun with a couple of local cachers. Then before that it was in 2011! There weren't many caches in Dimboola in the early days that's for sure, but all has changed as there are now a heap to do Drove to this location from where we were camped and after checking out the usual spot for such a hide, I checked out the alternative and there was a nice container that looks very water proof indeed! Thanks to tassieexpat
With Featherwaite we're on our way home from Canberra after the GeoBash Mega over Easter. On our way we set our route to take in LGAs that I have no finds in. Day 1 we made it to Wodonga and Day 2 we arrived in Terrick Terrick NP and Day 3 we were home.Unless stated this cache is in good condition.Apologies for the generic log.TFTC
Found with Team Waldron on our way back to Adelaide after attending the Capital GeoBash mega event in Canberra over the Easter weekend. Thanks for the cache and series tassieexpat!
It was a gorgeous day on the banks of the Wimmera today. Came down for a swim to escape the heatwave ( a bit of a shock to the system after recently arriving from Tassie!) There were lots of people utilising the river but managed to make a quick find without prying muggle eyes. Everyone was too busy cooling off I think. Another novel cache container. Thanks tassieexpat.
I was heading up to Dimboola for a CITO today and did not realise it had been cancelled Friday evening until I was checking what time it was planning on starting. It was cancelled due to the heat and the total fire ban as well.It was going to be hot picking up rubbish so it was for the best.I was in Stawell at the time and as I was in no hurry to get there now I decided to do a couple around there first before heading to Dimboola to do the newish trads up there and any others on this side of the road.Arrived at Dimboola and then opened the Geocruisers door and the heat hit me.They even had a market on in the Main Street as well.I met the CO last weekend and mentioned that I will be back but I didnt think that it would be this soon. Now lets see how many I can find. The area was pretty much deserted as everybody was probably up at the bridge pontoon as that is the only one I could not get to.A beautiful spot and the water looked inviting but not for me today.A great little find here. Thanks tassieexpat TFTC.
Lots of people out fishing and enjoying the beautiful weather. A knee boarder even went past twice showing off their skills. Last time I tried I couldnt even pull myself up onto the board. My kids thought it was hilarious. Thank you tassieexpat for placing and maintaining I spy with my little eye...F for us to find today.
Picking up some more caches around Dimboola, while still leaving some for another visit later with ilook4geo. This one was a quick find. Thanks for the cache go to tassieexpat.
12:43A reasonably early start from home and we were on our way westward toward Adelaide for The Great Leap Forward Event. It was interesting to see the various guidelines and precautions set out should the water level rise. Thanks to tassieexpat for hiding caches in interesting locations. 36557
Another quick find on a hot day. Thank you for the caches and snippets of information. This would be a pleasant walk in cooler weather.
Our second cache for a walk around town after setting up camp for the evening. A very quick find for Mrs Shifter. Thanks for the hide tassieexpat.
Hubby was the one to look for this cache as it was time I gave my knees a rest. I watched from the car as he checked out the area and me willing him to look where I wanted to be looking. So hard when you cannot make your knees do what you want them to do. Another fantastic cache. SL TFTC
After walking to I spy R we decided to head back to the car and drive to this one. Another lovely tranquil river location where it was a pleasure to visit while seeking out this cache. One half of the team spotted the container but being vertically challenged the other half had to reach for the cache. Thanks tassieexpat for the placement.
Found by Mary and David at 10:40. TomTom led us astray again. Walked further than we needed to, but gained more steps. Lovely water views and the sound of screeching cockatoos. Our thanks to tassieexpat.
Find # 13081Off on a full days solo Caching adventure around the Western Vic area.I've had a half baked plan around the area and it was time to go for it. Horsham, Dimboola, Jeparit, Rainbow and then follow a Silos Art Ad Lab heading home.A great (top of) 20deg day, to be out n about. With a bit of wind to kick the dust n sand up. Dimboola, in my plan, was going to be a 1 or 2 grab, then head off.... well, one thing is, my plans don't always go the way intended when flying solo. Yep, I managed to go for all here and had fun doing so.Thankfully No one around the area seeing as the show was going on over at the oval. I focused on the wrong end for a bit.TFTC tassieexpat
