Heading home from Kaniva after completing the This is SA series and stopped by for this one. Back on track here (pardon the pun) after a DNF at the last one. No issues at all the cache was soon spotted and the log signed. Hidden away nicely in there. Thanks again muff1...
That was a tricky one. But it was fun to try search. Hint didn't help us, but knowing the co-ordinates were off did
Found with ConnieandRick while travelling to Kaniva. This was one the Connie had DNFed a short time ago, but today, the find was immediate. Many thanks to muff1 for the cache.
With Muzza today driving to Kaniva from Melbourne for a group assault on This is SA tomorrow and this was one of a few in Nhill as we reached the end of our trip. I'd been here about 6 weeks ago but didn't find it then, so happy for a quick find today.
There was a train idling behind the bushes. Love a loco rumble.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Saturn's day the fifth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit cooler today. It was so windy today. A few showers. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. After a night camping at Kiata we headed west for Kaniva for a local CITO picking up a few caches along the way. We came today to avenge a DNF from a previous attempt. We would never have found it in this thick vegetation so a big thanks for the good hint. Thanks muff1 for the placement.
My first Victorian cache on this road trip to Shepparton! TftCI havent seen a cache like that before so it gets a fave point.
Thank goodness we found this today and got rid of that awful blue face.Co ordinates 7 m off. Still putting us smack bang in top of first post. Try 3rd post. Thank goodness at least this new hint is comprehendable... lovely 3 D printing!TFTC
Quick grab during lunch stop in the road from Adelaide to Melbourne. Coords a bit off but he hint took me to it without too much fuss.TFTC.
During recent visits to Nhill, we have only had the opportunity to look for one or two caches that have been published in recent years. Today we had sufficient time to look for six of the seven remaining ones (swimming to the island was not on our agenda today) and we were fortunate to find all six that we sought.Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find of an interesting cache container. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks muff1 for the cache and the others you have taken responsibility for.
Headed to Phillip Island for some motor racing grabbing caches along the way TFTC
Something special or unusual goes here:The Muffs wanted to check on this after a recent DNF so we called in here on the way back to Kaniva. It was dark and a big search by torchlight didn't turn up the cache. A new one was prepared and I got to stamp the log before it was placed back where it should have been. Right place, right time I guess. The cache owners needed to check this cache and luckily I was in their vehicle. It appear the cache has gone walkabout. Cache replacement duly stamped and put back where it should have been. The Generic Bit:The 2024 Geocaching Victoria Event Crawl: Day 4: Echuca crawling back to Seymour and then onto Kaniva. Two days of traveling over from S.A. and three days of Events, numerous Adventure Labs, lots of fun, mishaps, and even a few caches found as we crawled around in search of smilies. My companions for the Crawl were Muff1. So Good to catch up with lots of caching friends. [:X]***Thanks muff1 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Spent a good 15 minutes looking for the bison tube, but to no avail. Read all the previous logs and the hint, but still no luck. So I pulled out the trusty metal detector and, like a crazed man, started sweeping the branches and the ground below it, still no joy. So a quick call to the CO and it was concluded the tube is missing. Logged as a find with CO's permission. Thank's for the hides and for the day out in Nhill Muff1.
Encouraged by the recent maintenance Snips and Co and I decided to do a quick stop here. Unfortunately 15 minutes later, covered in scratches and dust, we gave up. Saw a metal ring in exactly the right place though, but it was rusty and held nothing. CO has given us more information but we're on our way now north heading towards our next LGA. Next time!
After seeing a recent DNF we have checked the cache, all is good and cache is where it should be.
Quick find after dinner at the local pub. We are on our way home after a great weekend in Lameroo for the JLWE events. The hint was really helpful for this one.
A little sneak hide we came across today before heading for home took a few minutes to spot but soon had it sorted and signed. Thanks again muff1 for the hide.
Out and about with weirdobiker after the long weekend in Lameroo and a trip this arvo into the Little Desert to collect This Is SA puzzles despite them being in Vic! Best June day ever! The PIES won too. We finally got to the should be very famous Nhill with all its secret treasures bordering Little Desert. Surprisingly this lass from the High Country is excited having just discovered PINBALL in town so Ill return for sure. As for the caches..well Im on a multi mission that includes 20 caches in each LGA so here is a perfect start for Hindmarsh. TFTC and the FUN after dark.
An overnight run to Melbourne and back to help the muggle collect some very bulky gear. Ive requested five caches on the outbound trip today, and how convenient, there are at least five new caches here in Nhill that have gone out since I last went through. I dont have much left to find along Highway 8 as the result of similar previous trips, so these new caches were very much appreciated. All easy finds, good coordinates, caches intact. Thanks so much for these caches muff1.
13600. Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 13355. Had the company of the Co's this morning to supervise us. With the hint the find was quick. SL Tnx muff1.
It was the final day of my slowly caching my way home to Adelaide from Bacchus Marsh; with the plan to find a few caches along the way before making the final stretch home. Having picked up a couple of caches on the way out of Horsham, the majority of my time was spent between the Dimboola area and Kaniva. With a decent number of caches put out in, and around, Dimboola since I was last in the area, it was nice to make a dent in finding them. When it got late in the day, and I had found all the caches that I was after, I put the GPS away and made my way home. Apologies for the generic log as I have plenty to write from my trip away.Find #9834, at 02:44 pmTFTC
Found this with gridge98 on our road trip to Victoria. We took the great ocean road to Warrnambool, then to Ballarat and Halls Gap. Fantastic trip away over 5 days. Thanks for the cache!
After a DNF here last year we stopped by here for a nice and easy find today.courtneyrose_ and I headed away to Victoria for a 5 day trip for me to partake in the Ballarat Marathon. Along the way we made our way to the great ocean road to explore the area, after both of us had not been there for many years. We then headed to Ballarat for 2 nights before heading to Halls Gap for a scenic experience for the night before making our way back to home to Adelaide. Thanks for the cache.
I found this geocache during a recent trip, however, for sme reason my log didn't automatically upload from my GPS as it is programmed to.Thanks for your cache hide and the effort that you put into maintaining it,
Following the precise clue meant a potentially tricky spot was made easy. Many thanks Muff1
After meeting up this morning to conquer a water cache, Mclookers and l joined Blueblackpenguin to find this cache they could not previously find...well they had it in hand before I could even jump out of the Geo van.. well done BBP.
Found the square post, found the cache. Found today withTiz13 and BBP.Thanks for the cache muff1.
Find # 14341I was in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but made a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 9. Homeward-bound, the last stretch. Bordertown to home. A bit of a drive around the Bordertown and Mundulla area in the morning and then in the arvo,a drive around Nhill. Caching along the drive, all while making my way home. I had the old hint on hand and called in a PAF. Soon had the cache in hand TFTC muff1
After noticing a write note on this cache we stopped by and checked the cache, all is good here. We rejigged the hint, hopefully this will add to the ease of finding this cache.
Well I have it a red hot go for 15minutes but no jam. Posting as note to avoid reviewer issues for CO.
14:32We love trains & tracking them down. Searched & searched, no luck tracking this one down, & left the scene. We made a PAF call and when we returned to GZ we had the ticket and searched in what is the right spot. We found the co'ords to be spot on once the GPS settled. Thanks to Lisa.kenny13 for hiding caches in interesting locations. 36564**PS:** The new hint will certainly make a difference.
I was unable to find this one with crank1 today. Thanks for placing the cache Lisa.kenny13. Next time!
Found by Mary and David at 16:10. Spent ages here, looking in all the wrong places. Didn't help that we didn't know where "the old cache container" was. However, D's persistence paid off and he finally spotted it. We reckon it's at least a D2.5 given its colour and location. Our thanks to Lisa.kenny13.
Unfortunately we are another DNF statistic.Unfortunately we have no idea where the old cache was so that tip was no use to us either!Better luck to the next finder.
THE CACHE IS THERE. ITS A BISON TUBE HEAD HEIGHT. STAND AND LOOK IN THE TREE ABOVE THE OLD CACHE CONTAINER. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REACH FAR IN THERE TO FIND IT.
This cache is still here. Its a bison tube. I cant say much without giving it away its an easy cache. Please look before logging not found and flagging the cache. Its defiantly there. About head high where the original container was.

We went and checked. And it is still there. About head height.. dont think too much into it.
I did not find it we where a three person party and couldnt find it. We look on all the sighs.
This cache is here. Its now a bison container. The previously cache kept getting muggled.
3 finders and no luck, seems the CO wants to keep changing their caches all the time
No luck unfortunately great spot and interesting history, but definitely a hint would help thanks
No luck here, searched for quite sometime without any luck. Maybe a hint wouldnt go astray for a 1.5 difficulty. It is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Tftc; found on a weekend roadtrip to Murray Bridge and back with lilbassgirl. Logging all caches day after end of trip; individual logs done by lilbassgirl previously with me driving between caches, sights, accomodation and the show we went to.
Stopped at Nhill for the night.Enjoying caching around here during spare time.Great hide Thanks for bring me here & cache
##Published - thanks for contributing to Geocaching with this Listing.##*Don't forget that regular visits to check on this cache will keep it healthy as well as keep seekers happy. Be sure to log an Owner Maintenance log each time you visit to check on the cache.*>***The challenge for any Cache Owner is to place the largest possible container . . . . . . . not the smallest.***
"FTF"Today we needed to go to Nhill and were fortunate to have another FTF to search for. At first we were hunting in an area that looked good to hide a cache but came up empty. Instead of assuming we used our geosenses and there was the cache. SL TFTC
