Found this cache on the way back from a Coorong kayaking trip. Not a soul here today - a very quiet spot - only a few skippies and bunnies seen.Good to find an old cache, and also a rare-ish DT rating too.Last cacher to find this one is Hazel, but its been found 2x between her and me today, by the Goolwa Sea Scout Cub Group - looks like they visit it reasonably regularly.Good to keep this old cache alive. Thanks to Barry & Beryl for placing and for Hurtle to maintain it.

Out and about caching around the Fleurieu Peninsula while staying in Victor Harbor on holidays. This cache was one that was found today. After finding a suitable place to park, we headed into the park and arrived at GZ. An enjoyable wander and great to find a proper geocache Wink

Down in the victor harbour region for a few days for a holiday so why not find a few caches along the way.

A challenge working out where to park for this one but once at the car park pff we set. A nice walk along the trail here and a very peaceful area. A few bird watches also having a look around. Finally we reached the cache and found it easily enough.
Cache and contents are all good

Drove down this way with Purrfect Di & Jack.

Combined a relaxing spa getaway with a bit of caching fun Big Grin

Found your cache along the way. CoolCoolCool

It was a great walk into a park we hadn't visited before. There were signs of echidnas, but no sightings.
Three humans were spotted in the park nearby. Chatty things, rather excited by looking up at trees.

We looked up too. Apparently we were looking at some Babblers (rare to see five in a row on one branch?),
and some brown hooded honey eaters.... they all looked like tasty nuggets to a caching cat!!!
We spotted some really pretty red, green and blue birds way up high,,, but the birdwatchers weren't too impressed because apparently they're rather common around these parts Surprised

What we really came for was quite quickly spotted (at quail or kiwi level) when we came to the GZ spot on our GPSrs. A nice wild ammo can, that def deserves a fav for not being a mint tin, and having a nice location Cool

We passed the other humans on the way back again - noting their continued excitement at spotting tiny brown feathers way up in the sky!!! All seemed quite dry today, but could get interesting after some rain!

Appreciation goes to Barry and Berryl for placing and Hurtle for maintaining this one on the gameboard Smile

This cache was found and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or sometimes with just plain old dumb luck! Stay safe when caching. Watch for snakes, random cliffs, wild goats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]

Make sure Travel Bugs are the only ones you share and pass on Big Grin

2020 turned into 2020won, and 2020too is on the way! 2020free should see us through Razz

Still important to observe social distancing when possible, (150 nano caches apart should do it)
Still important to wash your hands (always has been really [:o)]
Still very important to look after each other and take precautions & get checked out for even the tiniest sniffle or cough, or unexpected headache! [8)] [B)]

Still even more important to get some fresh air and exercise while we can, so get out and cache the country!

Thanks so much to all those placing caches out and about away from the city crowds,
keeps our game safe and interesting Cool

Sir_spectre and I went for a lovely Sunday drive. He managed to grab a few more smilies than me but always more fun geocaching with a friend.
I find it hard to believe there is only one cache in this park. Well worth the walk.
Thanks to Hurtle from mogni Big Grin

out for a walk around the park with mogni. I have been meaning to get here for awhile now since it's a older cache. quick find at qz. Saw some wildlife on route to the cache. I might have to come back some time and drop a few more caches to fill the park up.

Hevwalker had a day off and wanted to go and check on one of her caches on the Fleurieu Peninsular. I was free so we made a day of it caching our way south west in search of that elusive smilie. Razz I even managed to rectify a couple of previous DNF's but as usual added another one to the list. [B)] But it was great day will lots of walking to caches in Conservation Parks where the spring flowers were starting to be in abundance. Cool

What a wonderful park that I had never visited before. Amazing how the creek had made such an impression in the clay banks where the track crosses the creek. Surprised I see how it got its name. Wink A nice stroll and a then a quick find in the obvious spot.

**Thanks Hurtle for this cache. ** Big Grin

A perfect day for a walk in the park with brisal5...the wildflowers were on display today so I took quite a few photos...we crossed the creek (fortunately for us it was dry today)...found the cache... logbook in perfect condition...
Thanks for keeping this one active Hurtle...Smile

A beautiful day for a stroll in the park, one we have said another day, and today was the day we followed the loop track until we had to detour to GZ, looks like this was closer to the old path as we found one of the old track markers, now the new tracks about 80m away, we still found a easy way round the prickle bushes to a nice little GZ. After finding the cache we continued on the loop track back to the car a great track, walking through the deep creek three times reminded us how dry this winter has been and how deep the water can get through here. A fav point for the walk

A beautiful cloudy day for a walk in the park today.

Followed the path most of the way there, then only a short detour at the end.

We decided that the weather today was okay for this one. I was not sure where to park. The app led me along the way but when it wanted me to turn into a driveway I knew there was an issue.
As it turns out Gould Rd is the answer and after parking it was time for a stroll. And a very pleasant one it was too Smile
Approaching GZ there was a bit of circle work to find a clear approach. At 10 metres it was reasonably clear where it might be. And it was Smile
Got to love an ammo can!
Added our names to the log, left a NZ Mega TB and headed off.
More great scenery on the way out as well as a very cool close encounter with an echidna. Big Grin
Photos added.
Thanks for bringing us here!

What a lovely walk . Lots of birds and wildflowers

21-Oct-16
We needed a cache with a terrain or difficulty rating of 4 or above to leave a traveller, and this cache fitted the bill.
It was very wet underfoot when we first set out, but got a bit drier. The deep creeks are definitely flowing, but we managed to get accross without getting too wet.
The bonus of the afternoon was the proliferation of wildflowers out at the moment. Just gorgeous!
Thanks Barryd SA. Great spot.

enjoyed this one. Thought we would try for one last quick and easy one. What a mistake!!! Phone battery was running low with the geo app. Kept to the path and found we got closer and all of a sudden further away. This happened a number of times as the battery got into the red area!! With about 3 minutes left of battery life, took a gamble and went off the track hopefully heading towards the cache. Gamble paid off and it was found. SO many places to hide one here. Again, another place we never knew existed.
TFTC.

We stuck to Gould road and soon found one of the said car parks with a pleasant walk to the cache. Today there were no marsupials to be seen, only the descendants of raptors were about. Easy find. Thanks Barryd SA.

31-Aug-11
Make sure you park in the scott creek car park! our GPS took us to the other end of the reserve where there happened to be an open gate into that end..... as we popped though the open gate and started walking along the creek we were stopped by the house owner just up the road a bit who said that part was private property! never mind she was very helpful telling us how to get into the park from the right end, and was very nice about it. We opted for the short walk and really enjoyed it. the coords are spot on and the cache was refreshingly full of interesting swaps. TFTC T-keyring L-bullfrog pathtag.

08-Jan-11
We attempted to do the longer walk here, but we mucked up the start. Anyway we found the cache and then bush bashed until we got back to our track and did it in reverse. Whilst the area around the cache is not difficult, our way of getting back was another matter. We followed too many kangaroo tracks that led through low prickly scrub.

Think we picked a bit of a hot day for a walk but either way a great cache
TFTC
took monster guy and left pink pig

Awesome cache! Great walk and keen to head back there.

12-Sep-10
A very pleasant walk to GZ. Lots of rainbow lorikeets screeching in the trees along with lots of smaller birds around ground level. Managed to negotiate the "bridge" and all the mud around it. Nice big container. Walked past a blue togue lizard so the weather must be warming up. Writing this log I noticed that there is a note regarding moving on a TB. Sorry, but I didn't see one in there probably because I didn't remove all the contents from the cache. TFTC

This is a great walk that we really enjoyed. Hard to imagine the water needed to carve those deep ravines on dry hot 39 degree day.

When we opened the cache we thought it must have been a new one due to the quantity, quality and excellent condition of the contents.

TFTC, well worth the effort to go and find.

8th of 11 FFTD on our way around the south while on a day out with the Sullies. From our base in Port Elliot and with Mr S (Mr Humbug) back at work for the day decided to make all the Geo-Kids go out on a day of caching. This was our favourite cache of not only the day but the whole week. Mrs E remained in the car while Mr E took the tribe out to find this one. Mr E refused to be carried, except through the deep creek, at 2 and a 1/4 years old he ran the whole way there and back (his run is our slow walk! Big Grin). Took a short cut back to the Geomobile with little problems of prickly bushes, thankfully! TNLNSL. TFTC.

This is what caching is all about. A find every now and again, a good walk, nice weather, and a good ammo can to boot!

the walk in wasn't a hard one, pleasant, with a little bit of bush bashing along the way. Not sure what the lady that was out catching bugs 100m from the cache thought of us trooping through the place, and then returning a couple of minutes later, with all these gadgets hanging off us!

took a few pics along the way, and grabbed a WP for the car park, for future finders, which was roughly S35 24.281 E138 44.201

I remember driving to this cache many years ago but found a tree blocking the road
And at last I return and happily signed my name in log book

This is a very nice quiet spot there were lots of birds about
This did take longer to find and it was within 5 metres or so from my GZ

Took nothing and Left a Kangaroo

We attended this cache today and replaced the cache container with a metal ammo box (Hopefully waterproof) and also put a new log book inside along with some new goodies.

We were lured into this one after we had decided no more today. It was a lovely walk which we really enjoyed, but glad it was not in the wet. Talking of wet- the cache is very..... We removed the wet book swap, but the log is also a bit damp. sorry we only had basics on us, so no ability to fix it up at all. Also took the coin and left the bee and beads. Thanks for a lovely walk.

Grandson found it just as we were about to give up - well concealed. Our favourite park.

14-Apr-06
Found it after crossing a couple of dubious looking fences. (Dubious because they looked electrified, but fortunately the power was off today!). Think the coords are a little off, we searched for a little while before finding, but the final place was fairly obvious. No need to get too close to those thorn bushes!
Thanks B&B. Another of your parks visited! Looking forward to some magic at CapUnder.

Left a patch, took Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

Found @ 12:40

Boy did we take the wrong track on the way to this one. From our perspective, the creek bed looked like the path (due to a conspicuous lack of signs at that point)

So, we ended up following the water course for some time, then we ended up navigating cross country (bush bashing) to GZ.

At GZ we couldn't find the cache for quite some time, but we were determined not to give up and the cache was eventually located.

We came in from the west, rather than the 'official' park entrance, as it seemed closer. Found without too much drama, although we did spent about 3 mins searching the vicinity of GZ. Took a photo frame and left an emergency resus mask. On the way out, marvelled at the depth of the creek and imagined it must be quite a spectacle when in full flood (every million years Big Grin ) On return to the car, was accosted by masked bandit horses, but we escaped before they could harass us Big Grin – see pics

Not sure where the parking spots are but I parked at a T-junction and walked down the fenceline of what seemed to be a road reserve. Took a few minutes to find as it was dusk and my eyes don't work too well in the faded light. TFTH SL

Finally logged this one on the way to Middleton today. It was an unusually cool christmas eve which made the walk in all the more enjoyable. It's a pity this one has been so long between finds, as it one of the nicest walks we've been on for a while. Wouldn't want to cross the canyon after a heavy rain! Cache found intact and dry, took the bag of sparklies, left a monster truck. Thanks for the pleasant walk B & B.

A pleasant stroll with lots of birds around and evidence of roos. Easy find - took clamp and left snap cards and klem bear. Thanks B & B.
