This location was a surprise - what great sun dunes. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC.
Found it during our holiday trip. This place is just unreal. We spend our lunch looking at all the contrast between the blue / white / yellow. At GZ quick find. Thanks to bring us thereTFTC +1 favourite point
Definitely a surprise spot. We loved the Desert Sturt peas all along the road in here. Quite a pretty spot. The locals weren't that keen to let us in.
just nearby night one camp, travelled from adelaide to here in day one. found a lovely location and have much enjoyed the journey so far. tftcsl
I did manage to upset a whole heap of kangaroos sheltering in the cool off the tanks before eventually making my way to the cache. Great location as the wind howled into the desert. TFTC
Found on our Googs Track and Gawler Ranges adventure. Wow what a pretty spot. In 50 years time the stock will turn it all into sand dunes . Thanks for placing a cache for us to find.
A beautiful spot we had fun exploring. We would not have stopped except for the cache.
So a big thank you Liz and Bruce

Always good to get a older one. Drove to gz and made a quick find. Currently no water in the spring but took some pics.
Day 8
Kingooya to Mount Ive Station
This trip saw me travel to Maralinga to do the tour of the nuclear test site then up the Googs track, past Lake Gairdner on to Mount Ive Station, then in to the Gawler Rangers and finally hiking up Mount Remarkable before heading home.

We walked in although you could drive. Dune and lake combination is spectacular. Wanted more time to walk along dunes. The main road curls around to give various distant views of the formation.
What a lovel spot to take us to! Big lunette, little lake! Lots of poached egg daisies! Found cache at 11:50am. SL Took Rhino Left dinosaur. TFTC
Really enjoyed this one, and the little track into it. It was nice to get off the main road and enjoy the terrific views of the lake and dunes on offer here. Unfortunately had to get out of the car and brave the freezing northerly gale to collect the container. Great spot. Tftc
Found the little goat track to make this one a driveby. A fantastic view today with the cloud around but sun shining through and onto the dunes making them standout. A fav from us for bringing us here. TFTC
Found with e.gregory1 (previous finder) during an awesome trip that saw us traverse Goog's Track, visit some remote and desolate outback towns and tour the Gawler Ranges, camping out at Nalara Rock, Wymbring Rocks, Lake Gairdner and Lake Gilles CP. Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce!
Found It!
It was dark by the time we got here so after getting a bit lost on the tracks in, we got to GZ and quickly found the cache. Then took the quick way back to the road!

Found on a trip north with Anymules, Laighside legends and Moneydork, drove in dodging kangaroos and wound our way to GZ by quite a few tracks in the area before finding the easier one on the way out

Called into this one with Team Astro as we headed back down from Kingoonya to Lake Gairdner to camp. The dramatic shadows on the dunes from the late afternoon sun were quite spectacular. Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache.
Wasn't sure which track led right to gz so we ended up parking about 400metres away and enjoyed the nice walk for a quick find

Nice hide. Thank you for the fun from Sydney! We enjoyed finding this one (:
Our tour from Sydney to Ayers Rock took roughly two weeks. We can't reproduce which cache we've visited at what time any more. That's why we logged all of them at the same days, so don't be confused about that (:

We found this cache on our Northern road trip, which was to celebrate my significant birthday. We saw some great places, met some wonderful people and slept through some 3 dog nights. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and finding caches made the trip more memorable – Thank you and ……Joy to the World!!
What a beautiful, wonderful place. We would never have come in here except for the cache, so thanks very much for bringing us in here. Will award it a favourite.
Tftc. Sl. We drove into the dune area & walked up the top, what a fantastic spot.

I saw one lonely patch of Sturts Desert Pea today on my way to the Sahara
Not knowing what the Sahara was, other than a desert on a different continent, I was surprised to see a miniature version of it appear in the windscreen [:o]
Oh wow !! The view across the watery lake to the sand dunes was speccy [^]
I left the geomobile at the 'dew tanks' and headed into GZ on foot
What a great place for a stroll.
At GZ the cache (which is no longer a 1lt bucket) was a nice easy find in its little hiding bush [^]
TFTC Liz and Bruce, and an excuse to get out of the car and wander through the Aussie outback at its best

On the tail end of a trip along Googs Track with Mount Lofty Ranges 4WD Club. Awesome spot for morning tea. SL & left a pencil. TFTC.
The Family and myself did Googs track over this Easter via Ceduna returning via Tarcoola, Kingoonya, Skull Camp tanks, Kangaroo well, Mt Ive station and iron knob. We found 20 or 30 finds whilst on our travels.
Quite spectacular, drove up to the dunes but decided not to drive them.
Thanks Liz and Bruce.

After doing a drive past the tanks to the lake, we back tracked to the road, eventually following Firesafe down the right track to the lake .
WOW! Those dunes look spectacular ! After all the white sand we'd been crossing over the last couple of days, these dunes look right out of place [B)].
Wish we had more time to walk across and climb them, but it looks like we'll have to come back another time to do so [^].
TNLNSL. Container looking in good condition.

What a beautiful spot. Glad we don't see too many Sahara's in .au Pic attached. We eventually found the track in. Yep, there IS a track. pics attached.
Found with the fun and company of the Goog's Group on my getting reacquainted with Goog's Track trip. I'd last been to Goog's in 2003 so the revisit was well overdue. Dunes, corrugations, lizards, birds and beautiful country was the reward. Weather was mostly perfect, as were the campfire meals and star bounty at night, every night. GG members included M's Piggy (Babe), Tk2, Disk, Team Waldron, Gum-Ako, FireSafe, honeysucker and Freddo. Thanks for their amazing company under the many clear skies we had

Revisited this one to check it out after camping at Twin Tanks back up the road. All's well here Liz & Bruce!
Boxer found this cache whilst travelling with a group of Vietnan veteran mates, on what we called "Pedros toughen up tour."We travelled west to Ceduna and then north up Googs track, which was a real adventure on its own.We then headed east to Tarcoola and then south to Iron Knob, then home to York Peninsula. We slept under the stars, taking six days to do the trip. Finding caches along the way was a bonus and it gave us a break from driving. Thanks for the hide.
Came home to Whyalla from Coober Pedy via this route - what a fantastic drive!
Thoroughly loved it - an awesome outback experiance. thanks Liz and Bruce.

It certainly did look like the Sahara desert as we approached the cache site. It took a couple of goes to find the right access route in, and even then ended up bush-bashing for a while.
The cache container was cactus and disintegrated almost as soon as I touched it. I replaced it with the only available spare I had, and whilst it should last many years, is somewhat smaller than the original and I had to roll the logbook up to fit it in (see pic).
I have to admit that I was tempted to put the new container over in yonder tree, but resisted the urge and left it at the original location, in the middle of nowhere [^]. Cheers guys .

Sahara it was, Spring it wasn't!
Found nearly 24 hours after schedule, after a 150k detour and enforced sleepover in Kingoonya.
Just before the turnoff to the cache we came across a severely crippled car with 2 distressed muggles and no phone reception. We then took on the guise of Good Samaritans and took them further north, while the rain picked up apace. We ended up enjoying the pub's dinner and accommodation while the rain contined to fall. Next moring off we set with some trepidation and had a very hairy trek back on quite flooded tracks - and the rain continued to fall...
The cache was finally found after hoofing it in quite a way, returning to the car somewhat wetter and somewhat fitter... so all's well that ends well.
Thanks for the hunt Liz and Bruce.

Another pleasant stop on our extended caching tour of this remote area. We saw a couple of Sturt's Desert Peas nearby. The dunes looked lovely in the morning sun.
What a surprise to see those dunes in the distance.
We were heading to Kingoonya at the end of our Gawler Ranges trip.

This was a good location, bit of a surprise really. Our young driver did a great job getting us here,I was very impressed with her skills for someone who had not done much driving on this type of country. We replaced the cache container and put in a new log book, had to remove a few of the gifts left as my container was not as big, hope thats ok.TFTC
Had this in the GPS for a few years and hadn't read the log on here to see the cache needed a new container, however the good news is the cache can be located but the container is completely destroyed and will also require a new log book.
We found what is left and gathered it into one place.

Late logging this one after our PDA died with all our info on, but our mapping helped us out, just took a while!
Found on our way back home after our Kimberley trek and a detour north. Container was very bad and needs replacing, but we had no spares with us after nearly four months on the road. TNLN, then went up past the tanks and camped for the night on the top of the hill with fantastic views towards the Sahara like sandhills. Thanks.

We tried to find this on the way tro Kingoona but we had some issues with the GPS and it had us way off course. Ended up getting bogged and about 1 hour later we left without finding it. The family had had enough. It was a nice area though and we saw the dunes. Very dry.
Thanks for the stop anyway, i enjoyed the experience.

Found on route north to Kingoonya. Beautiful spot although no flowers this time of year. Took scourer as we had just lost one and left a magnetic clip.SL Thanks for showing us this place Liz and Bruce.
Found on way to Kingoonya with kggy. Our teens loved these dunes .. spent quite some time photographing them and generally enjoying the spot. Many thanks. Took bowls measure Left marble & 2c coin.
Another FTF for us!!!
Wow... what a perfect spot for breakfast. A magical location, with much to see and take in. Unfortunately we didn't get here when all the wildflowers were out, so i'll have to come back here again some other time. We almost ran over the cache, but luckily missed it. An easy find in a pristine place.
