For some time we have working on puzzles in the area south-west of Yumali. During our last visit to Adelaide we sought some advice from other cachers about the state of the track and whether or not our Forrester would handle the conditions. The consensus was that our car would cope with some patches but not all. Very generously AnyMules offered to take us there at a mutually convenient time, an offer that was greatly appreciated. Today was the day where the stars aligned and we headed down the sandy track. We soon realised why our car would not cope with the sandy inclines along the way and we appreciated that negotiating the track was beyond our current skill levels. We went to the waypoint, collected the information and calculated the coordinates for GZ. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Team_Stargazer for the cache and AnyMules for the transport.
Yep pretty hard to find with 2 separate phones giving different GZ but soon in hand Awesome part of the world hereTFTCps that is a lot of gold!!
Today is day 3 of our SA Great Leap Forward Mega adventure. Based at Goolwa, Mr T, Gooseandegg , Stainless-Steel-Rat and Budgietas concentrated on finding caches with appropriate D/T 's to fill their Fizzy Grids and this was one of them. We signed the log Team Tassie. We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty.Enjoyed caching in this area, cache and contents were in good condition. Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
This is one of the caches found in the company of VK7HCH and Team Tassie Menagerie. We met up at the end of the road, which turned into a track and at one stage we were walking through bush. With up to six of us searching for every cache, it didnt take long to find them all. Thanks for placing these caches along this route.
Out caching with FUF009 and AnyMules. Today was 4WD caching day.Neither FUF009 nor I have a 4WD, so AnyMules took both of us for a joyride. We bought the TOTT required.Pretty fun ride. Tftc
Find # 13516I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Found with sharkiefan and AnyMulesSigned as FUSHAMDay 2 AnyMyles taking sharkiefan and myself out 4x4ing. This a first for me as I've never been 4x4 caching before. A bit of fun on the track. A lot more sideways movement than I expected. Track was a definite eye opener for me.TFTC Team Stargazer
I put the word out to weredunn4 that if the weather this weekend wasnt any good for kayaking, would he be interested in heading down Tailem Bend way to target the ROTF or Wandering Heroes power trails.Unbeknown to me there are some high terrain caches he didnt have that are close to the ROTF series, so I got a resounding hell yeah lets do this So here we are creating another very long line of yellow smiley faces and boosting the daily average We had a set of coords for this final so stopped by for the find.quickly found, stamped and returned.Lots of fun getting here on that sandy road, in fact a couple of times I thought we were doomed, but the MUXy pulled through Awarding a favourite point for the fun & adventureTFTC
Cheezel was keen to tackle another powertrail of caches, so the ROTF series was chosen for the weekend (plus a few others in the area), so we jumped in Cheezels bushbasher and headed out into the sticks.Saw some high terrain caches down this sideroad, and simply couldn't resist a diversion. The track was challenging, with some very soft sand in some spots but Cheezel and the mighty MUX powered through it.Cache found and log stamped.Good to get an older cache too!
Ever since the geo daughter came to SA with her brand new 4WD, we had planned this adventure along the Yumali sandy track. Life got in the way and it has come down to the last weekend of her South Australian vacation before we got a chance to do the trip. A first-time off-roader in a 4WD we made sure we had plenty of backup plans and safety items in mind. We organised a keen muggle with knowledge and sound field abilities to join us so we felt safe and comfortable. What was not planned was the 41 degree day, but nothing was going to stop us. We saw a few lizards on Yumali road, and one rabbit, but thankfully no death noodles. Thanks team stargazer for this multi-cache. Nice to stop and read about the history here. We gathered the number and did the sums. Then did the sums again as the first one was in a paddock. All good, after collecting Kayes, we then headed back and stopped at this one. A bit more of a trek into the bushes but a lovely big container was found. Nice work. Signed and returned as found. Find #9316 at 2.01pm. Last one for the day, heading back to Yumali Road with the go-pro fixed to the roof rack. The paddock here looks fairly gnarley, and the wind has picked up, will make an interesting trip back home.
Met up with Featherwaite to make an assault on this run of caches. I'd found a few before but there were quite a few more now.All caches in this area were quickly found and in good order.TFTC
Very happy to find this oldie complete with original log book!Day three of solo caching in Meningie. I am here for a few days tackling the ROTF power trail caches. Today, I took a break from the power trail early to do some 4 wheeling. I aired down south of the track, engage 4WD and was off. The geo-Prado lapped it up.Team Stargazer, I found Hawks Nest today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.* * * * * * *SAs Leap Year Event - GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Keep looking up!
25/10/2023 8:49:00 AMI came in from the south end of the track late last night after travelling from Portland and crashed at a nice spot midway along the rough section. After waking up I bumped my way along to the monument, made the calculations and was happy that I didn't need to go back on the $WD section of the track to find it.Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment Find recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
After finally having success with one of the new ones, and with a real 4WD being available, it was decided that it was time to tackle what I refer to as THAT sandy track. Met up with the Rat in Murray Bridge then headed down to Coomanook with brisal5 where muff1 were waiting. Then, in two vehicles, it was off to the top of the track. The wannabe 4WD needed some help out from the first cache but it soldiered on for a bit before the track deteriorated somewhat. The drivers walked on a bit and it was decided to pile into the real 4WD which had no trouble completing the task at hand.
The weather wasn't the best but that turned into a blessing, see A2Z/02101, and after an enjoyable few hours all members of the group now have smilies for all the caches thought to be on THAT sandy track.
This was a nice quick find thanks to the Rat. Very rewarding to get an old one in an out of the way location on the found list.
Thanks to Team Stargazer for putting out this cache.
Cache #13803 for me.

On cold and wet day several crazy geo-cachers decided to tackle this track.
Plan A the Rats and ttrogg to met in Murray Bridge.
Plan B Brisal to pick them up and head to Coomanook, to meet up with the Muff's.
Plan C head to the track.
The Rat and ttrogg were in the starfish's car.
We came, we gathered our info and did the calcs.
Off to GZ a quick find by Mrs Rat. Tftc

Team Crackers, Papi4506 and I are still making our way back from a recent trip to Maralinga and back this was along the Ann Beadell Hwy.This wasn't on the radar but when I noticed how old it was, this cache went to the top of the list. So pleased that we were able to add our names to the log. Thank you for placing the cache and maintaining it for so long.
Still on our way home from Maralinga, travelling with Team Crackers and Geoturtle37.We are all thoroughly enjoying our drive along this great track. It has been a little slimy in places but not a problem to get through on. Another cache in a great location. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Catching up with late logs.
Unfortunately half the team stayed in Western Australia looking after sick friends while the other half headed home for his own doctors appointment. I joined forces with Geoturtle37 Papi4506 at Maralinga and we are stopping at caches that we passed.
We spotted this little series of caches last night so we agreed to try our luck this morning.
It must have been to cold for the brains to work as we had trouble sorting out the simple answers but eventually got there and were off to GZ. Once there the nice sized cache was found quickly and our names have been added to the log book.
So far so good even with all the recent rains.
Many thanks Team Stargazer for the interesting multi.

Another cache find on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. It is a wonderful day, just perfect for geocaching. Thanks for the cache.
We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs & wine. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.

A day finding caches with the JAMS Crew( Sir Spectre, mogni, JJ52 and Michells&hound). Plenty of 4x4 driving and bouncing around in the back seat. A real fun day. TFTC Team Stargazer
Targetted today since i never have the time to get this one on route to mount gambier and because of it's age. Also a excuse to use the 4x4. quick find.
The full quota of JAMS crew ( jj52, allister w, Mongi, Michells&hound, plus myself ) where out for a drive today. The Wellington ferry is the location we meet and then we combined in to my 4 x 4 for the rest of the morning and the start of the afternoon. We headed off to Malinong then took a 4 x 4 short cut to some more caches and followed a geocachers path to Meningie then to Narrung, where i question if the Kartoo Road is really a 4 x4 track or just high clearance for the sandy patches ,and back to the Wellington Ferry and Allisters car. Two cars then headed to get some caches that where missed on the JLWE at Langhorne Creek. Again the crew jumped in my car at times since some of those used to be a road you just need a 4 x4 or it's a walk to the cache. A fun day out was had by all, even though at times it was a bumpy ride. Always good to get those out of the way caches off the map.

Another JAMS day was organised and after a very early start we all met at the Wellington ferry where we all squished into sir_spectres 4X4 to go and find some out of the way caches that you just don't get to. We started off at Malinong then headed to Meningie via a round about route, then to Narrung and back to Wellington where we separated into 2 cars again and ended the day finding a few Roads that never were around Langhorne Creek before heading home. A fun day was had with lots of laughs and plenty of excitement driving a few sandy tracks. [^]
We had fun getting to this one and the others close by. The 4X4 sure got a good workout with bodies inside getting thrown around. We were really pleased to find this old cache today.
Thanks for the cache Team Stargazer.

Today was a hideously early start for a Sunday. But after seeing my footie team had won overnight spurred me into action.
I was at Morphett Vale by 6.30 and we were off to Wellington to meet the rest of the JAMS crew. We were a little bit early so we started off with one cache in Wellington.
Then we piled into Sir Spectres 4WD, we were crammed in like sardines and then headed over on the ferry for an action filled day of ‘out of the way’ caches that just never seem to be ticked off.
Then back to Wellington and towards Langhorne Creek for some old roads before splitting up and heading back home.
Just one more in Strath and then in Onkaparinga River Park before finally making it back home.
I was laughing so hard at one 4WD stretch that I couldn’t speak, it was a hell of a ride.
Fun day out.
How fabulous to get this golden oldie multi today. Not sure when my body will recover from the 4WD shake up! TFTC Team Stargazer

Another of the old caches we were targeting on the drive from Millicent to Adelaide
We managed to take a wrong "track" but quickly turned around and went back along formed roads

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"
The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark
We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.
Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.
In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

Today we were heading back to Adelaide to fly home. We detoured quite a distance to find this cache 'on the way'. Our first 'road' was a little dubious so we went a longer way around just to be safe. We found some broken bits of container neat GZ but it turns out the cache was fine.
Thanks Team Stargazer
The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.
Thanks Team Stargazer

Today we drove back North to the airport to get our flight home and just had to grab the last few caches on the way, pulling in mainly old caches on our travels. Thanks for having us SA, till next time.
Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.
This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.
Thanks for the cache.

Got the information a while back when visiting the spot with my 4WD muggle friends. The first time I was there with the same group, some clever individual(s) had moved the rock on top of the info plaque. This time I came, saw and found it. The road beyond the rock had changed for at least half a kilometre and was easily passable by "ordinary vehicles", in my humble opinion. My previous memory was that beyond the rock one definitely needed a proper 4WD. Thanks Team Stargazer.
Up bright and early to head out and tackle some local caches, especially some 4x4 ones. It was only 4degrees at 8am and foggy when we left the caravan park, the sun was setting as we returned to town and the petrol station. [:o)]
Great day but muggles everywhere! No matter how remote we were there were muggles, they came in all shapes and sizes. Off road bike riders and car loads of kiddies, grain carrying trucks, fertilizer trucks, fertilizer spreading trucks, even 4 wombats crossed the road in front of us.
We managed to tackle some of the ROTF series on our way back to camp.
wpt1 is where there were 2 families and there motorbikes thankfully the cache was far enough away to be able to make the find undisturbed.

Found with e.gregory1 on a day out that started at Nairne, then to Sherlock to do The Great Detective Series and others, down to Yumali and Malinong via Hawks Nest Road, on to Cooke Plains and Tailem Bend, and back to Murray Bridge to complete the two Lab Adventure caches. Enjoyed the adventure of the sandy 4WD track to get to this cache. Thanks for the cache Team Stargazer!
Today FeatherWaite and I completed a bit of a circuit to find a range of Traditional, Letterbox, Mystery, Wherigo, Multi and Earthcaches around Sherlock, Malinong, Cooke Plains, then back to Murray Bridge. We also gathered the information required to complete the Adventure Lab caches around Murray Bridge and finished the day with a night cache. All in all it was quite a successful day with no DNFs and we enjoyed some good weather, albeit a little cool!
We approached this one from the Yumali Road to the south and enjoyed the 6 Km or so of dunes and sandy track. The cache was a quick find and although the container seemed OK, the contents were very wet.
Thanks Team Stargazer for the cache.

Enjoyed a few days away from home trying to increase our numbers. We checked out many of Bindi's modes of transport before a late lunch and then onto Meningie. We purchased a few supplies in town and found a few caches in town before finding a few more along the ROTF trail. We finally decided to abandon this trail and give Mr Frog his 4WD fix and travel northish. Why do we always forget the compressor? - still made it without any dramas

Today, gridge98 and I headed for Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend areas, and we targeted a few multi-caches and the OTD May series. Once those were completed and lunch was had, we then went further afield towards Malinong and south for a few out-of-the-way caches, before returning to Murray Bridge and heading home. Six multi-caches completed today for the month multi-cache challenge and 48 caches found (excluding a challenge cache not yet completed).
Laighside Legends thinks this was a nice spot. It was certainly a secluded spot, and required a bit of effort to make it through the backroads in reaching the plaque. Some interesting history, and numbers crunched to find that the coordinates were nearby. Cache found and initially thought the container may need to be replaced, but the older container was hiding a new container. All appears to be good, thanks Team Stargazer.

Cache found and initially thought the container may need to be replaced, but the older container was hiding a new container. All appears to be good, thanks Team Stargazer.
Arrived near the posted co ords and their were heaps of cars with trailers on them, assume they were for dirt bikes. No one was seen around though.
A simple little multi with some fascinating history here. A easy calculation and we were off to GZ. A nice hide.
Another great day out caching with david wazza, as usual the plan always seems to change from the original. We had planned to complete the OTD my series s well s the geopets but after completing the OTD series we were starving and decided to change the plan after having a bit of tucker in tailem bend. We headed down to Malinong to get the 4 caches in the area. After that we headed back to get 2 multis in murray bridge and add some munzee time in for a laugh. Overall a great day with a total of 45 finds and a Did not find.
Thanks for the cache.

Found It!
Today there was a grader out grading the track to this cache. I guess it's nice that the local council are looking after us geocachers...
An interesting bit of history at WP1. Somehow I don't think this monument gets many visitors though. But with the freshly graded track, maybe it will now! I did the maths, headed off to GZ and quickly found the cache! Always nice to find such an old cache to!

Out for a days adventure with Clare007 and CPWanderer this was one that has been on our to do list for some time now, adventuring down Wright road we stopped just short with our 2WD before the sand, hiked to the plaque gathered the info required and treked to GZ, thanks to Mattycat cache is sparkling new again, our replacement plastic bags was too small but we used a coles bag to gice it a double wrapped protection, nice to cross another 2003 cache off the list

Approached to within four hundred metres with clare007 and froghoppin from Wright Rd. Then headed off to the final location on foot after checking out the information. Easy find at the final GZ.
A huge thankyou to Mattycat and Purrfect Di preforming cache maintenance ... extra brownie points issued!!
Out for a drive with Purrfect Di.
We had noticed this one needed some help, and came prepared.
The road in was interesting, but not that scary!
Who would have even thought there would be a plaque hiding out here,
and a collection of caches honouring attempts to reach this one!!!
Calculations added up to give us spot on coords and the remains of original cache were found.
Really not that bad, the lid had just given up, but careful placement by previous cachers preserved the log book quite well for its age.
A replacement container was camo painted on the spot and contents loaded up.
We didn't have a zip lock bag big enough for the log, but it should be pretty safe for a while.
Maybe next finders can donate a large zip bag
Tucked safely under some natural camo...
You can clear the needs maintenance now Team Stargazer and thanks so much for the excuse to come down this way.
A great day's drive and good fun all round. Fav from us!

Thanks CPwanderer and Froghoppin for your offer to help!
Matthew from Mattycat has also offered to help and may be able to head out there in the next few days to do maintenance on the cache

Myself and Froghoppin are planning to get out to this one in the next few weeks. We would be happy to do maintenance on it.
I'll see what I can do. The cache is a bit of a drive from Adelaide and my 4wd isn't roadworthy anymore.

Another Power Trail ticked off. Doing it with company - the ONLY way to do it
With the day forecasted to be 34° today and 200+ caches on the hit list, it was up early (ish), grabbed a coffee and fuel.
A great (although warm) day ensured with some 'good' music after the head clanging, nauseating 'Death Metal' that my younger travelling companion likes
A thoroughly enjoyable (tiring and warm) few days away.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment Team Stargazer. Appreciate your efforts.

In South Australia for a little caching run. It was time for a break from the trail, some 4-wheel-driving was in order to grab an old multi and a couple of traditional caches. The Patrol was up to the task, making these dunes seem like a leisurely Sunday drive... well sort of. Thanks for the cache Team Stargazer.

First for the day and it's always good to start with a find .
Took an alternative route to the Coorong today and this one was on our way .
Had the local farmer pull up - first time he'd ever seen anyone reading the plaque !
Fortunately, we got the co-ords right the first time, so were able to show him a bit about the game .
Bought a container with us, but it still wasn't large enough (need at least an ammo can size),so were not able to replace it and put everything back as we found it (the farmer said he may be able to find something, so may replace it himself) [^].
TNLNSL.
Thanks for bringing us here Team Stargazer - had a ball and learned some things about the local area , as well as driving through the sand .

I approached along Hawks Nest Rd to WP1 and all good. Did the calculations and then continued by car and foot to GZ. I found the cache but the container is a little worse for wear from weather and animals. The container lid is in many small pieces. I didn't have a replacement container so placed the contents on the ground (logbook plastic bag had been chewed up by some animal) and placed the upturned container base over the contents. Hope it keeps things OK until the container can be replaced. TFTC Team Stargazer.
We approached WP1 the hard way through a lot of soft sand to then find a very solid road quite close to this WP. Not to matter we had fun doing it, including the place where we needed to back up to enable us to get a better run at one of the hills. If you do not like heaps of sand do not approach down Gordon Road.
We collected the info and as adults in our sixties we guess we have lost the ability to add and subtract, twice. We soon realised, as it could not be in the farmer's paddock or the other farmer's paddock DOH.
We arrived at the correct GZ and the cache was an easy find. Unfortunately we did not have a container with us to replace the broken one. The spider is still in the cache. SL TFTC

They sure knew how to transport gold the hard way back then.
We gathered the clues without any trouble, and after agreeing on the context of the instructions, we had some plausible looking coordinates to search. As we were gathering the clues, a 4WD approached from the south, and continued north. It could have well been [argentrandall86](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=823f0391-51b3-4817-9c19-06e97bb6d7c9), who logged one of the other nearby caches today.
Upon arriving at the new location, the cache was found quickly. As others have stated, it is a very sorry state. It's a pity to see vintage caches left to rot away with no maintenance.
Thanks Team Stargazer.

Our second day of camping at Meningie for the Australia Day Long Weekend. We headed out after brekky to do a loop around Lake Albert and to find some caches on the way. Arrived at GZ and found a skink had moved into the cache!. It needs some serious maintenance as the lid is cracked and has been placed upside down to try and keep water out. Unfortunately we didn't have a replacement one large enough. TFTC

The cache guardian mentioned in other posts (huntsman) was still there - thought it was dead until I touched it, then off it scuttled! Has been very dry so contents OK but container is still upside down as lid is cracked. Sorry did not have a replacement with me. TNLN TFTC
Took us a while to actually find out GPS to put the adjusted coords in. Think we missed this one once before due to the 4WD track. Today we had come through it anyway just for fun and Mr Irac remembered to look for the cache. Thanks for the retro adventure ( just like the old days). Now stop distracting us! We have to be home tonight and can feel the bug biting again.

Cool spot, great story behind the cache loved the drive in & out

Heading to Mundulla for the JLWE events. As usual getting there is always part of the weekend. My GPS in geocache active mode pointed to a cache just a few kilometres off the highway so I decided as I had plenty of time.....Why not. changing from direct to on road navigation made distance to cache move from 7 to 27 kms but in for a penny and in for a pound. When I got to within a couple of clicks there were two ominous signs either side of the rapidly deteriorating track warning 4WD only. Hmmm. Front 2WD geomobile, solo driver and nobody knows I was going to attempt this one. 2 other nearby caches that I also haven't done. On we go to the first WP. Get the info and onto GZ. track in reasonable condition all the way and a quick search. Cache found. Upside down to protect contents as lid broken. Still able to sign log Thanks Team Stargazer. Could the next cacher who actually plans this please bring a new container.
This cache has been eluding me for years [:o]
I have driven almost every road around this area, and have seen the cache symbol on the GPS display every time ..... never been able to find the right road to reach GZ though
Today I was cruising along the dirt roads again, and almost by accident ended up headed down the right road [:o]
What a surprise at the start coords !!
A big rock had rolled, which I dutifully searched for any sign of a cache
Of course while searching said rock, I noticed something far more interesting behind it ... a brass plaque
Numbers crunched and I headed off along the surprisingly un-boggy road, after all the rains, to find GZ and the cache
The cache container has seen better days, and is letting in water .... letting in water [:o]
Logbook only slightly damp and still signable ... for now
Finally .... TFTC !!

Superman has visited and moved the rock and so the coords can now be determined. I enjoywd the nice big cache container.
Unfortunately thw contents were wet though I managed to write in the slimey log book.

Was heading down to the Little BIG Event in Nelson Victoria, picking up caches on the way.
Had a huge cache guard on the cache - a hunstman. TFTC.
Had a huge cache guard on the cache - a hunstman. TFTC.
I was on my way to the Big Little Event and just happened to have to wait for twenty minutes for one group and then two hours for the really late latecomer to get to Tailem Bend Considering that I had the greatest distance to travel, that was interesting
So, I stopped and did one cache all on my own. Then when Honeysucker and firesafe arrived, we headed out and got a few more together.
When Huurtle finally arrived, we headed off in convoy to some very interesting caches and by the end of the day, I had locus cache'd on 24 and only had 1 DNF. [^]
This was such an awesome day as it included my getting the Corolla bogged in sand, firesafe getting bogged in mud (however he got himself out where as I had required his help to get out of my spot of bother), my first visit to the sea side of the Coorong, some great fun driving on dirt roads (anyone want to clean the inside of my car?) and some great company from Suzi Quatro on the CD.... all in all a fantastic way to get to an event!! [^] [^]
We parted company at Kingston SE and I cruised on my own to the Big Little Event at Nelson, getting only a few more caches on the way as by then, I was kind of tired [|)]
This cache caused much hilarity and many payouts ensued as a result of my getting my Toyota Corolla bogged in sand (thankfully, firesafe came prepared and pulled me out) on the way out after finding this cache. Hence a 15k detour instead of a 5k direct line to the next cache after this one....or so the boys told me but maybe it was just their excuse to keep giving me HEAPS!
It was a shame to see that the stone and plaque have been knocked over somehow [:(!] but luckily some of our group had the information that was required so that we still found the cache
However, one of our group inadvertently left my purple pen in the cache... so when I returned near here on my way home a few days later, I returned to the cache to retrieve it however I apologise for not bringing oin a new cache container as by then, I had forgotten that this one was cracked

Zig zagging our way down the coorong road. Locus Cache, FireSafe, Honeysucker & myself, visiting some out of tge way cache, missed on previous treks down here...
Been meaning to get to this one for ages, but was always thwarted by time, but today it was one of the must dos!
Alas the boulder has been pushed over and plaque is between the boulder and dirt, unreadable.
Luckily contact was made to get the gz coords.

Thanks.
Road in on 9 Mile rd was perfectly graded, alas Locus' corolla was unable to take the southern route through the sand out, and we had to backtrack.

This was our favourite of the weekend. We had just come from a weekend of 4WD in sand dunes on a nearby private property and were on our way home. Having just aired up the tyres to highway pressures at Tintinara, I was reluctant to let them down again and then spend time pumping them up afterwards – so I thought I’d see how far I could get at 39psi , coming in from the south.
All the way, it seemed [^]. What a fun track. It was certainly deep and sandy in places, but just kept the foot planted and powered through.
The cache sums were got correctly the first time, and the coords led me straight to it.
Loved the cache page that was included in there from 2004. It records the likes of Maccamob and Liz & Bruce back when their find counts were just those of mere mortals .
We left via the western exit, but it was completely tame compared to the south, which is 4WD-only country [^].
Thanks for bringing us here Stargazers. It gets a ‘fav’ tick. Cheers .

We've been eyeing this one off for a while now, but it's one of those "ah, next time!" caches. Today we had nothing else planned on a trip to Vic so made a lengthy detour. We were a little dismayed to find it's (technically) 4WD only, and the track was looking a bit soft so we footed it in the short distance to the cache. Great to finally get it off the radar. TFTC.
Found no worries after going slowly though the calculations.Wasn't sure we were right but checked it out anyway and the coords were spot on. Took the track out SE for a great little drive. Thx Team Stargazer for a great cache
No problem finding this cache once the calculations had been worked out which took a bit of time.

Pulled up by plaque. Had to think a bit then realized what to do. When i parked close to where cache was what a surprise. A porcupine was walking towards the cache. This is what makes caching off the beaten track really enjoyable. When i left i drove south to see where track went to. I did not realize that i have been through here before with motorbike. Just as well i had 4wd. Even though sand was wet it was still very soft. TFTC. TNLN. SL.
Thought I would do this cache while I was in the area. I have just dropped Mooshell 1 off at a friends place for a sleepover.Stayed for a BBQ. It was just after 11.00 pm when I found cache. Took calculator left dragon. TFTC.. SL.

Another cache on my todo list that is now done.
If you come from the south and have a 4WD make sure to do the track that starts at s35 33.156 e139 30.440. The last little bit sure is fun.
Got to GZ did the maths and wandered if I had it right after my little trip.
Trusted what I had a went looking and all was good.
Well done on finding the monument.

Good to get off the beaten track. How do you guys find these plaques. The road in from the Dukes Hwy (north) all the way to the cache was fine and easily driven by any 2wd vehicle. Thankyou for organising the hunt, we enjoyed it immensely. TNLNSL.

Out with GeoVon and a 'muggle'. It was a cold, wet and windy day, nearly had to put the ute in 4WD! The maths nearly did my head in, then once I got the results finding it was a piece of cake! Crops are looking really nice, bright green cereals and bright yellow canola! TNLNSL. TFTC
Nearly 5 months betwen visits to this cache. I came from the north and seeing the orad to the west, and having shonkie's log information in mind left to the north.
The provided information was soon sorted into meaningful numbers and it was off to visit the cache.
Took Ranger Family's African Safari TB to take it on a bit of a safari to the South East.

Tried to approach from the South, but the track looked like it was on private property, and sort of petered out. So came in from the West, and all was well until 400m from the first coordinate - and then I needed to drop some air pressure and engage 4wd.
Found the cache easily enough after correcting my shonky maths, and headed out North, which was a good road, and would be an easy drive in any 2wd vehicle.
Great cache off the beaten track a little, and a nice diversion on the way home from Robe.

Great cache. Collected the info and headed off for a very pleasant drive. Amazing what you find in the scrub.
Came in from the West on a not so bad road and then went out to the South on a very sandy road. Glad we had 4WD but didn't need to lower the tyre pressures.

Found 10:25. 2nd of 12 FFTD. Weekend jaunt down South-east to escape the rat race with chizbeki. Worked out the final coordinates (or so we thought), at the same time worked out why chizbeki don't do many multi's . Mrs E almost got us bogged in the very soft sandy track following the arrow (to the incorrect coordinates) and not watching her gear changes. Re-worked the GZ coordinates with better success. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Found at 11:00 with friends Alice, Tracey and Kimberley (see photo). A lovely drive, no mozzies, and would have been no problems for 2WD except for the track we took out again was pretty soft sand. Thanks Stargazer for a nice cache.
Great track, good hide, wear jeans not shorts though. Easy find once our calculations added up. Found with Wannabe Nomads. TNLN SL TTFN
Great to find another multi cache Top effort. Very good hide Stargazers. Another quality cache.TNLN SL TFTC.Found with the Troopy Travellers. Had to slip the Grey Nomad into 4WD for this one.

Good to see they didn't lose any gold.
We enjoyed this cache, driving on the back roads.
Took plasticene and left Grover.
Thanks Team Stargazer

First we went for a walk to the wrongly entered coords, an easy find once we input the correct coords into the GPS . Hot wind and millions of sticky flies and then some. Took smiley face and left a monkey thing.
Then we left. Or tried to. The sand in the wheel ruts were v's, verrry soft. Oops, can't go forwards. Oops, can't go backwards. Hmmm. Time to let the tyres down. Eventually the old faithful Cruiser pulled the caravan through and we were on our way to the next cache.
Thanks for the fun, Stargazer.

Great drive came in the back way good to have a 4WD or else we would of been well stuck

A relatively easy find on a road that is in very good condition. Interesting memorial as well. Took the Bach CD & left a golf ball. Cheers.
@1010. Our first find for the day on our way to robe for a 4WD weekend. An easy find. Took a car and left a correction pen. Cheers.
A leisurely drive out to find Hawks Nest. Didn’t actually see a hawks nest, but saw one in a tree on the way back to the main highway.
Took bouncy ball and precision screw driver set. Left Bache CD for the local birds to harmonise with.
Thanks Stargazer

Found by Mary & David at 1250. On our way back to Melbourne after another great couple of weeks at the Remarkable Event and caching around Adelaide. A 2WD could have managed this one today, so the recent rain couldn't have been as heavy here. We imagine the wildflowers around here would be spectacular at the right time of the year. No mozzies today either, thankfully. Took dragon, left 6-piece screwdriver set. We continued on down the track, which became real 4WD territory, although the going was easy in the damp conditions. Our thanks to Team Stargazer.
A quick and easy find on our way back home to the South East. 4WD track was very easy going as it had recently been graded. Took Agate, left Dragon.
Thanks Team Stargazer.

Found 10:10am 15/5/04 Our first cache find for the long weekend. We had to calculate this twice to get the right answer. Weather was good. Took Whale and left Kangaroo, lamb & Modelling clay. Thanks Team Stargazer
Interesting trip in - thought we were already on the 4wd track someone had mentioned in an earlier log but after we left the 2nd part of the cache heading out on another track - thought this is the one they must have been talking about (felt like we were on the Googs track again). Any way glad to get the maths right at part one. Found the cache quite easily and even though it was very well sealed -Hawks Nest and become Ants Nest. We (Bruce) cleaned it out. Took fly net and left smiley face soft toy. Thanks Team Stargazer for an interesting and challenging cache.
Gang banging virgins - what fun.
Nice easy find after a simple bit of maths. Only thing left to say is...
"Buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz"
Don't forget the aerogaurd.

Found on a run with Team Raider & KarmicKev, if you weren't looking for the first waypoint would easily miss their being a marker there. At the cache site we were being eaten alive by mozzies, recommend putting on the fly spray before leaving the car! No swaps for me, thanks Paul!
