Found on the way past today while touring around this end of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Well worth the drive out here, great views across to the island. Cache is all good, thanks.Find #6561 on 3 Jan 2024.TFTC mogni!SAs Leap Year Event - GCA1DNA - Feb 29th, 2024. Keep the date free!
Took the long drive to the end of the road. There was a lot and i mean a lot of kangaroos on the road to the lookout. Then strolled over to gz. More kangaroos sighted on the walk over to gz. Found the cache in the 2nd place i looked. Found the container fragile but logbook dry. Replaced the cache container with a regular container with a second container ( peanut butter container ) inside. Nice views of kangaroo island. Nice to get a old cache 2004. Found with Mogni. Today it was a afternoon of caching with the virtual at Cape Jervis being the target. More km's walked than expected, those fire tracks aren't straight or flat. Not many caches found today but those caches you never detour to or stop for were the ones we aiming for on route to Cape Jervis.
Great views and a fun find while we are doing the first day of the Heysen
Little was I to know the hike was soon to get much harder......

A very enjoyable day caching towards Talisker and Cape Jervis from Middleton grabbing any caches we passed which we hadn’t already found.

Tagging along with friends on an epic adventure. Leaving our South Gippsland home with a days notice and driving 1061km straight through to Emu bay, Kangaroo Island as the Ferry we were going to board, was now out of action.
These are the caches we stopped to find along the way. Thanks to all cache owners for placing and maintaining caches in such amazing places.

Cruisy walk to cache. Such a shame this lil park is locked & unused. SL and TFTC.
This weekend 2 muggle friends and I walked the first 4 sections of the Heysen trail (60km with 2,200 elevation!). Along the way, where there was phone coverage we stopped a handful of times to pick up some caches dotted along the trail some of which have been here for 20 years!
Stop 3 had us walking around in circles for a bit from tree to tree. Finally the phone settled and pointed me a bit further west and voila, the cache was quickly spotted.

7 years of travelling Australia and yet we have never visited Normanville so we are here now to rectify that. With clouds overhead, and some rain overnight forecast for the day, we decided to visit to Cape Jervois and surrounds, our first time in this area.

All gates unlocked today so managed to drive to writhing 200m of cache.
Great to see some of the old caches still around after all these years.
A lovely sunny day for a walk and a ripper view!
Thanks Team Jeckyl for the fun.

I came for a drive on this different Anzac Day to do some caching in the area. One thing that hadn't changed was that it was raining on Anzac Day. Great veiws. TFTC
A pleasant drive down to the end of the road and then a short stroll and a quick find.
These days it's rare for me to find a cache that has been around longer than I've been caching but this one makes it by about 9 months. Both 2004 caching babies.

Having ventured this way with Muff1 a few days ago I made a quick find today. I am attempting to get 10 finds on every calendar day so have to leave any cahes near home until certain dates.

The island looks so close, while here we saw a ferry nearly back at Cape Jervis and one heading back to the island. SL TFTC
Jesswrigley and I were staying for an extended weekend just outside Cape Jervis, and today was our final day as we made the return trip back to Adelaide. We geocached around Cape Jervis, walked around the old mining area of Talisker Conservation Park, checked out some wind farms, and then drove back via Port Noarlunga.
We drove the jeep down to the end of this road, and made the short walk along the Heysen Trail to get to this cache. The area was ruins with many rock piles, but soon had the cache in hand. What was the best of this location was actually the coast and rocky coves. I wonder if anyone would hide a terrain 5 cache down one of those areas? Great views, thanks.

Thanks for the great cache. Had an extra surprise of a dead spider which the boys loved and the girls made them throw away. Thanks again
The transfer-bus brought me wright n time to this location to have an additional mini-walk to find this little box. It was a beautiful view in afternoons sunlight and after signing the logbook it was time to get on the ferry...
Thanks for hiding!

Walking the Heysen for two days from Cape Jervis. The island has been constantly on our right in clear view. TFTC
Found It!
I've been meaning to find this cache for years but it just never happened. Today was the day. We drove to within 100m of GZ on Talisker Road and then wandered over for a quick find. Great views! One day I'll go find the caches on the island...

It was a few weeks ago that Laighside Legends first suggested a trip into Deep Creek in search of a high terrain puzzle final. It was after a bit of persuading we finally found a day with weather that was agreeable with our pursuit and at 9 am we set off. Our first stop was in Myponga to hopefully pick up a cache in a high muggle area that had long taunted Laighside and after a quick find, it wasn’t long before we were in the depths of Deep Creek. After parking the car and finding the obligatory car park trad, we made our way on to the Deep Creek Waterfall trail and we were off. It was a pleasant stroll to gz, though the walk back up wasn’t something I was necessarily looking forward to, as we approached GZ we spotted some muggles, though with Adelaide being Adelaide, they turned out to be Ben’s relatives. Once at gz we navigate our way round the waterfall, making use of the spoiler photos we located a plausible gz and Ben had the cache in hand a short time later, with the log signed and stamped we left the gully in search of further caches. As the hours continued and the find count climbed (excuse the pun) the hills began to take their toll on our weary legs, though the desire to find some much desired caches helped us to push through. It was only when the sun began to dip in the sky and we had found (most of) the caches we had come to find, we decided to call it a day. Though I don’t think my legs could have done that much more walking anyway so this was probably a good thing but not the less, an enjoyable day was had.

Greetings from Brisbane . Having never visited SA before, a weekend trip to Adelaide was planned to see the sights and find some special geocaches you have hidden here.
Day 2: An early start was made to head into the Adelaide Hills before visiting McLaren Vale, Cape Jervis and then down to Victor Harbour. With a few hours of daylight left, I headed back into the city for a few more smilies, then climbed a hill to watch the sun dip below the horizon .
It took some hair-raising driving to get to the end in my rental hatchback, but by taking it easy I got there with no dramas. Beautiful views, but I only managed a couple of pics of KI before the sideways rain had me running back to the car. This one is rather special, it is now my most Westerly cache find.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache **Team Jeckyl**. Discover our TB

Great spot for a cache. Wonderful views. Fav point from us to encourage more people to come down this way. Container is no longer waterproof and log book is dry but mouldy. TFTC!
Left a squirtle keyring. Pretty boss. 3rd find for the day on the heysen trail
We are back for another Heysen Trail walk and wanted to find this one as we missed it last time. Found it very quickly this time. Must get very windy here looking at the number of uprooted trees!
Beautiful view over to the island today

We were with a very large group ( about 75 people) and tried to find this one, while the others walked past. We had a quick scope around but the GPSr was bouncing around a bit and we didnt have time to wait for it to settle down. We will be back on our own to grab this one soon.
Great views of the island today, and the first visit the cache has had for 13 months. A fun spot to take youngest geoson on a driving lesson.
Thanks for the cache Team Jeckyl. Found on 22 Apr 2017 at 1:35 pm. Find #4592.

Walked with the family from Fishery Beach carpark, through to the futuro house (alien spaceship) and picked up this cache along the way - nice to finally have this smiley done. No snakes this time, but lovely cool walking conditions. Stunning views across Backstairs Passage to KI. Signed log.
Great spot, drive down easy 4x4 track talisker Rd, jumped the fence at heysen trail end and a short walk up the hill to the rocks
First day of walking the entire heysen trail! Trekking the trail wearing tie-dye for CanTeen!! What a perfect day! Thanks for the super old cache with so many great finds!
We visited Cape Jervis back in October 2005, but didn't like the idea of walking to this cache from the west and didn't think the car would make it down what looked like a very steep descent. This cahe has therefore been on our to-do list for a long time now. These days, we cache 4WD style, so thought we'd tackle this cache again.
Turns out, the track down isn't anywhere near as steep as it looks on a topo map, just a little rough in places. It was still fun to drive to though, and we only had about 90-odd metres to find the cache. Glad to have finally logged this one.
As others have said, the log book is pretty full, and it has been very wet at some stage, but remarkably dry today. It was great to read all the original logs at the start of this cache's life, hopefully they won't be lost to the elements.
Thanks Team Jeckyl.

So many great walks and views. Really enjoyed this one although the drive to the start was a bit scary in 3LG's Commodore.
We are staying in Normanville with earthlight for a few days, it is day 2 and today we make our way to rapid bay area grabbing caches along the way, was a nice walk down to this one and the drive here was a bit of a adventurous one lol, log book was dry and cache seems in good condition. TFTC
We found this one in the middle of a walk from Trig Campground (in Deep Creek) to Cape Jervis. It took a while - 22km and not exactly flat....
The log book is still very damp, full of entries and so near impossible to make new log entries into. Sorry I did not have a spare with me.
Fantastic Easter weekend away down at Cape Jervis. This afternoon we were down at Fishery Beach and later a drive towards GZ. Left small torch. Took old matchbox car TFTC.
I drove the low-slung Magna to about 400m from the cache. Confronted with a locked gate I hoofed the last 400m to the cache.
Water had got into the cache - I dried out the inside and some of the contents but the log book was saturated... and full. Unfortunately I had left my geocaching pack with spare logbooks and plastic bags in the car. I was able to get a signature onto the very back of the book but it definitely needs replacing.
Great views across to KI and of the coastline from here. TFTC Team Jeckyl.

On revisiting area realised that I had already found cache in 2001, Came down from the trig point to access cache though the coast walk would have been a lot easier. TFTC
Car swap time again and this time I had Gum Ako out with me caching
A great drive into here in a front wheel drive Corolla and luckily we succeeded in getting back up the hills too
That is a pretty little bay done there
We even saw kangaroos in the trees here and, combined with a quick find, we really enjoyed this cache

This is a fantastic spot - marvellous views of Backstairs Passage, Kangaroo Island and the coast.
The log is damp and almost full, but I didn't have an spares with me to replace, sorry.

Took the drive down Talisker Road then hopped over the fence to locate the cache. Easy find, sign the log and back on our way.
Staying at Cape Jervis and wanted to do some nearby caches. As we set off today the clouds were low and we couldn't see the tops of the wind turbines. We drove through some heavy rain and onto the dirt. When we came to the sign below, it was still raining and we only had 2wd. Decided to walk the 2.6 km to the cache. The rain cleared on the way and by the time we got to the bottom of Talisker Road I decided the 2wd would have made it. Better safe than sorry. Nice views. The cache was full of water but the log was still relatively dry. Drained the water out. Took the time for a quick piccy and then began the long walk back to the car. Thanks for helping me lose a bit of weight Team Jeckyl!
Went down along Talisker road. Interesting road with a few stretches having significant drops on either side in turn. Luckily didn't meet anyone coming from the opposite direction, which would have been hairy in bits of the track. Thanks Team Jeckyl.
Since we were at the top of Talisker Road, thought we'd see how close we could get in the geo-car .
Idled down the rough track and went through the gate to the bottom end of Fishery Beach Conservation Reserve to get with 100 metres of the cache . A really enjoyable drive and we could see all the way over to Cape Willoughby Lighthouse today
Took $5.00 keyring. Left flag. SL.
Thanks Team Jeckyl.

This was a revisit.
We decided to walk from Cape Jervis to Tapanappa and downloaded teh geocaches again. Last time was in summer and we cheated, driving in from Talisker Mine.
This time is was cold, the rolling hills looked great in green and we saw a very large pod of dolphins just out of Cape Jervis and quite a few whales just near this cache. The calf leapt out of the water right in front of us which made our day.
Thanks for the cache

And the views were great today. This time we walked the whole way from Cape Jervis instead of driving from Talisker mine. we saw heaps of dolphins and quite a few whales. a calf breached too. great!
What a fantastic day to take a walk along this amazing coastline. Thanks for the cache, arrived at the GZ to find lots of rocks. After a 40 minute walk I expected a long hunt to find this one. I hate rocks & trains so I was very pleased to make a quick fiind... Now for a nice walk back and enjoy this awesome location. Thanks again for the cache. TNSL - L- Penny
Walked the HT from Cape Jervis. We can also see the Island from other spots as well - it's hard to miss on a clear day. Had fun finding this. TFTC Team Jeckyl.
Lovely area. Nice track to the end of Talisker. Geodad popped out the car as it would gave been risky to let the little geo people out.
Made some swpas and headed off on our discovery of the area.

I love bush caching, out in the open, nobody else around, and some great views thrown in as a bonus. An additional bonus was that finding the cache did not involve turning over 1,001 rocks!!
Did I say nobody else around? 4WD's appeared from all directions as I was going back to my car!!
Thanks Team Jeckyl.

Didn't expect to get all the way down here...but I did. Man the kangaroos were thick out here. Saw at least a 100 easy. They were hopping along both sides of the car for quite a while. Pretty neat. And a very beautiful cache placement area. Got a great view of a lot of stuff.

Quick and easy find, after doing some of my Tafe field work at Talisker. Was a rush to find this one and to run back to the car before it started pouring with rain (the cache was a bit wet itself, I tipped the water out, but the logbook was nice and dry in the zip bag )
The sky was clear and the island was nice and clear. Easy one to find. It was a nice drive down with other SE4WD Club members. Thanks for another good one Team Jeckyl.

Drove to within about 50metres of this one! Came down Talisker Road which at the moment is ok to drive down in a car if your game enough! Nice view from GZ! Picked up Geocoin. TFTC
A very quick, easy pleasant walk along the coast from Fisherwhatever beach with great views. At GZ we had views of both sorts of Kangaroos although the island was starting to disappear in the drizzle coming our way.

The nearby beach looks spectacular with the crystal clear water. The climb down means we'll have to leave it to another visit down this way.
