Logs

08-Nov-09
The bushes have been cleared out....and so to the cache!

07-Nov-09
The cache has not been found since april, could the owner please check if the cache is actually there.

01-Nov-09
No luck on this one gave it a real good luck but alas walked away, the hint made sense to me.

18-Oct-09
No luck today.

18-Oct-09
had a good look for this one for a few minutes then moved on once we read all the DNF logs.

18-Oct-09
Add us to the list of DNF's. I think this needs to be checked by the owner.

18-Oct-09
On Adelaide Invasion trip with The Rats, Big Matt and Shell and Farmer Frentzen.

We couldn't find this one either. Admittedly we didn't turn the place upside down after reading the DNF logs though.

12-Oct-09
Couldn't find it a failing light. It appears that things have changed and may no longer be around. Might have to call this one lost.

10-Oct-09
Walking around campus brought back some memories. This is one of the spots where I spent many a Wednesday afternoon studying the fluid dynamics of Coopers Pale Ale. No one around on Saturday morning, so I had a good look and suspect a drunken mining student has literally stumbled upon it.

04-Oct-09
this one got us beat. it's a public holiday so no one around and still came up with nothing. Not impressed.

25-Jun-09
Since we were staying with the R4Rs it seemed right that we find one of their caches, but it was not to be. Even with Mighty Morphin Geo Rangers on the phone to the cache owners we were unable to come up with the cache. The replacement cache definitely seems to NOT be where the cache owner originally placed it. Oh well...

09-Apr-09
Hi guys - I felt bad that I dammaged the tin getting into it the other day, so I replaced the cache container - hope the owner doesn't mind Red Face?! The new container is about the same size as the provious one, but plastic - I also dropped in a new log book Wink

TFTC - again

mpwashus

05-Apr-09
The tin was rusted closed when I got it and took a bit of effort to get open - its a bit battered now - sorry.

Needs a new lok book as well.

05-Apr-09
[Third time lucky!!!!!! Big Grin - man did I over complicate my initial searches on this one!!!] Keep it very simple folks!

[Took:]
[* Spnge Bob Travel Bug (NRBAYC) and]
[* The King of Clubs: Izzat Ibrahimal-Duri. I recon he looks like Field Marshal Montgomery]

[Left: "Nova Aerospace Brain"]

09-Mar-09
This is the second time I have spent more than 1/2 and hour looking in this area, last time was probably a year ago. I think we will wait for someone else to locate it before returning. TFTH

20-Jan-09
yeah my friend the geohunterz found it hahahaha but my name is in it plus i cracked my mate at the time

20-Jan-09
Took us a while as we searched the place but found it in the end! Good spot

Cache #15 on the final day of 2008 - part of the CMB cyclocache tour of Mawson Lakes - a 10km loop nets about 15 caches on a good day and today was thankfully light on muggles wise. Super quiet in uni hols.
Souvenired Abdal-Baqiabd-Al-Karim-Abdallah Al-Sadun, the BAeth Party regional command chairman for Diyala District. The glasses look like a pair I had once and we love this guys' Borat impersonation. and the fact he has a 34 letter 3 hyphen name...abdal alphabet more like it. GOLD!TFTC a good one to end the day. Now of to the boatdeck for a pizza and a short black!
Maux FAux (CMB) and the cache munky

28-Dec-08
Spent about 20 minutes looking for this, no joy.

20-Dec-08
One of the two 'nemesis' caches in ML that we haven't found due to muggle presence. Wasn't a problem today, being a Saturday close to Christmas, but the bad satlock and somewhat vague information resulted in us searching for ages before we found it with the aid of a hint from a friend. These were pretty popular and controversial when they came out, if I remember correctly. TFTC.

17-Dec-08
Physics broke my heart near here 17 years ago! I've taken the Jack of Diamonds (Tahir Jalil Habbush Al-Tikriti) because he resembles my former physics teacher. Who knew that if I had turned him in I could've picked up a $1 million reward??

Very quiet here during uni holidays; great for caching!

TFTC

05-Dec-08
Could have sworn I logged this find. Oh well. Finally got this after about 5 tries. Very easy this time after the recent finds. Took: Air Defense Forces Commander - Muzahim Saab Hasan Al Tikriti.....what a mouthful of a name. TFTC.

26-Nov-08
Movember is a good time to find this one and easy if it has been found recently.

25-Nov-08
Got a little bit of help with this one, but still took a while for me to locate it. Geodogs were no help at all.
TFTC.

21-Nov-08
In SA for work so why not wind down and find a couple of caches. Well using the old geonose I sniffed past my moustache and found the lttle blighter about 2 metres from what the GPS said was GZ. Probably not the greatest of signal in here but lots of hair!!!! I picked the 9 of diamonds as he is seriously attempting to grow a moustache like many other Australians during MOWVEMBER !!!!!!!! Thank you to those who are fund raising for research into Men's Health.

13-Nov-08
At last! Cannot count the number of times I have been here with no luck. The hints have never made sense either. Tonight it was only a brief search with the help of previous finder M. TFTC

26-Oct-08
Thought we were making sense of the clues when we got to the GZ out of hours (or rather, near to it), while dodging the circling security guard who somehow failed to see us! Searched all around where the GPS was telling us to go, then rechecked the logs and decided the cache probably isn't there.

16-Oct-08
Looked for this in the company of APTY while on a break from a work conference at the local function centre. No joy at all. having now read the logs I have a better idea of its likely hiding place. Will have to come back and try again.
Cheers,
Lead of Lead 'n Lace.

16-Oct-08
Searched with Lead of Lead'n'Lace and couldn't find this one. I noticed it hasn't been found since March so we may not have tried 100% but still we did look high and low.

29-Sep-08
Tried the previous night but to no avail, so we both tried this morning and again it had us...

Pensive Traveller reckons he has worked it out so hopefully we will get it before we leave...

Thanks for the cache..

26-Jun-08
Did not find. Sad there were muggles lerking around, so I didnt get a lot of chances for a good search. Will come back for a 2nd look soon.

02-Mar-08
Took two goes, but the first was half hearted as their was a 4WD parked here and its owners inside the building. This time I was alone. Quick scout here and there, then stood and just looked and hmm I reckon........yes that's it!
Took 10 clubs LATIF NUSAYYIE JASIM AL-DULAYMI
Bureau Deputy chairman. Looks a bit like my FIL!

02-Mar-08
Found on the second attempt and after a bit of guidance from Nomad Penguin. The cache hint is no longer valid as the item refered to has been removed.

FINALLY! read all the logs and went back for another round this time coming up trumps - hope the infidels had their noses in books today
Took Q of H - muhazim saab hasan al tikriti (air defense forces commander) looks like a couple of teachers i had back in the late eighties (wonder if he's still around) at a well known school in the ne suburbs...

07-Feb-08
Have tried to get this one a few times, but never seem to come up trumps.

07-Feb-08
bah, no luck. looked forever twice on our cyclocaching trip and left the second time with a flat tyre Sad

16-Jan-08
FINALLY!!!! i really wanted to find this one, and it meant even more when i made the find, and not posspet

It still took 10 mins or so, before i just happened to look at the right thing

posspet grabbed the minister for finance, he offered me to grab a card, but i just wanted to get out of there, before being asked what we were doing!

TNLNSL

16-Jan-08
I thought that it would be harder so I looked in all the harder places. Setsujoku found it easy by looking in a more obvious place. Cheers from the Posspet Boys

13-Jan-08
This proved to be quite a hard find for me, GPSr was pointing to the middle of a building, so tried the most obvious first...no luck

Tried the least obvious places...still no luck.

Resorted to random searches..Bingo!

Yep second attempt at the insurgents, nabbed the K of Clubs because we recon he looks a little like little Johnny Wayward. SL TFTC Tricky hide, we were sure we looked for all the likley spots Yesterday, today at a DNF at another spot we used "phone-a-friend" option and Eddy confirmed the culprits were still insitu, so we decided to hunt them down. Day 47 of our big November Challenge.

06-Oct-07
Find 101 without a GPS at 12.45pm

Looked for this twice before, thought it had been muggled as it hadn't been found for 4 months.
Bingo this time took the King of Spades and still plenty of cards left.
How many of the 52 most wanted have been found by the coalition?
"Where are they now"

15-Sep-07
An easy find on a weekend before 9:00am.
Cache was rather exposed and am surprised it was still hereSurprised - s'pose everyone is normally too busy or thinking about other things to notice it!!!
Took 4 of diamonds - reminded us of those fuzzy faced people you see on the TV.
Left only our shadows.[8)]
SL. Thanks Rav4 Raiders.

25-May-07
A return visit to the infidel palace of corrupt learning paid dividends today Smile
I scored me a four of diamonds with one of those silhouettes on it. Looks just like my neighbour who I've never met, but seen briefly scampering around in the dark [:o]
Probably is connected with these spades somehow Big Grin

25-Apr-07
Get out your knife and fork abowie Smile.

I can confirm that the cache is still there ...

22-Apr-07
dnf. had a good look but had to leave after 7yo fell off the bbq (he already has a broken collarbine from something else) and needed repair by band aids....
we wont be back , so let us know where it was and we can confirm if its missing

21-Apr-07
If this one's there I'll eat my moustakka!

Last time I was foiled by a million undergraduate muggles. Today we had the place to ourselves but couldn't find it.

21-Apr-07
Was here with Bowie, we spent quite some time searching, but to no avail, in the time we spent searching, I grew a beard.

04-Apr-07
Liberated 2 of spades in a daring nightime operation. This card doesn't have a picture, just a shadowy black silhouette, which seems pretty cool.

Great concept - TFTC!

01-Apr-07
Thanks for the cache. Why is it that the last place you look is where you find what you are looking for? Because you don't look any further!! Almost gave up on this one, but decided one last try was in order. Interesting hide!

03-Mar-07
Out of the three cache we did today, this took us the longest to find! Sierra had already strolled off calling DNF and then Kilo yells 'found it!' LOL Smile

We took the 6 of Spades.
It reminds us so much of Sierra's father, the physical resemblence is stunning! (rather large ears and nose). He doesn't have a moustache anymore but has in the past.

LNSL.

BRILLIANT Big Grin Loved It!
Took 5 Hearts coz she was the only girl in the 'pack' !
Reminded me a little of Oprah too Razz
I think she was the only one I could see without a moustache

3rd find on our walk around the lake. Took a bit of digging to find?

08-Feb-07
Met The Penguins (Stealth Ninja and Nomad) here, at the start of a lunch time sojourn.
Quick find thank to The Penguins.
Took the 10 of Hearts as it reminded me of my old boss at DSTO 10 years ago.
Interesting log entry by a gardener who stumbled upon the cache, but has left it in place.
TFTC Rav 4 Raiders

Cheers

05-Feb-07
I wandered past this cache today to check on it and it was *completely* exposed. It looks like the gardeners have done some serious gardening in the area. Luckily they left the cache (are they in on it?) but I suspect in a couple of weeks it will be *very* vulnerable.

I covered it up with available material nearby, but I'd still be a bit nervous about it. You might like to check it out and maybe rethink its position slightly if you feel it is necessary. I'm happy to grab it and babysit it if required.

UPDATE: Actually read the log today. The gardeners found it and thought caching sounded pretty cool so hopefully a new cacher joins the ranks. Still think the owners might want to check it out though with all the new activity starting up on campus.

Amazing to have a look around the old place again, it has changed a bit in the last (oh my god its nearly 20 years) Thanks for reminding me that the new guys here this year werent born when I was here. I took 3D, he has a very blank look on his face reminds me of some of my lecturers when I was looking for an extension of time on assignments.

12-Jan-07
it just wasnt our night well we will try agin

11-Jan-07
Found at 1525. Took 7 of spades as he resembled one of Justin's work colleagues. The devious eyes were the giveaway...

02-Dec-06
Glad it was a quiet Saturday morning! Didn't know which card to pick. They all looked the same. Even the women. Cheers!

09-Nov-06
this would be hard during the day!!! the boy found it, there was no pen to log visit but we really did find it! thanks rav 4 raiders

05-Nov-06

found as part of my reach to 100

04-Oct-06
SatLock was giving me grief, until I enlisted the aid of a friend. Came up trumps. Took Ace of Diamonds, reminds me of an old neighbour I once had.... a right Infedel he was too!Big Grin

03-Oct-06
A quick find once I found a parking spot. I have taken the 4 spades as it reminds me of a guy I used to work with.

03-Sep-06
My very first find, and right on my doorstep. What a buzz. TNLNSL, Thanks Smile BB

02-Sep-06
This one was also left out in plain sight - hid it where we thought it should have been - lucky the area was completely deserted.
Thanks heaps

28-Aug-06
Fitting first find - right on my doorstep! Stealth Ninja Penguin and I 'stealthed' our way over on a break. TNLNSL. Thanks Smile

Ah my first find! This was done without a GPS. Not recommended! Avoided the muggles with my stealthability.

08-Aug-06
Easy found. Didn't take anything though all my friends look better then this Wink

Found this with ds-fifty. Now I am a member, I am catching up with my logs. TFTC

Parking is not easy, but possible. Satloc _is_ impossible. Geokids hunted and found the booty. One of twenty finds for a geokid/geocousin holiday outing. Thanks for the hide, we had a ball.

03-Jul-06
29th find of 34 for the day.

We loved this cache - took us a good while to firstly find a place to park - then, quite a few laps of the buildings before we got to GZ.

Once we arrived the cache was an easy find.

I had no idea what this cache was about but when we popped the lid, it all made sense. I never thought i would see a set of these - just amazing - thank you. (Where did you get it ???)

Thanks Rav 4 Raiders

21-May-06
Couldn't believe how close this cache is to where Stanley 3 studies in the next building. She wasn't with us today but comes here 3 days a week at the moment. Mrs S is also an employee on another campus. Took the Ace of hearts although it doesn't look like anyone we know. Thanks Rav 4. Stanleys

11-Apr-06
"Northern Caching Blitz" find # 23/29...

Found easily, surprisingly there is no muggle activity!!
Took the 5 spades, as he looks like a friend of mine!!

Thanks Rav

02-Apr-06
Just as well we came here on a Sunday, as we had to do a fair bit of walking around to find a way in. I think we took the longest path possible as per usual. Canister was sitting in plain view, couldn't believe it was still just sitting there. Had a joke about taking one of the faceless cards, but in the end took none. Covered cache with a bit of bark and leaves. Thanks Rav 4 Raiders.

28-Mar-06
Sat in this little retreat a few times while waiting for lectures etc.
I have been having a look around without causing to much fuss, but today just spoted the little devil, and dived on it, in broad daylight, mid afternoon.(do I get extra points for this?)
Found the 9 diamonds looked like my last boss just as he was giving me my retrenchment notice while trying to look sad.
Great hide
Thanks

14-Feb-06
We didn't see any muggles, it was quiet, but who knows?!
Took the 8 of spades: Tareq Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister.
A comedian he ain't, but he reminds me of one. Willy Millowitsch, well known in Germany. I see if I can find a photo on the web.

11-Feb-06
Third time lucky!!
I cant believe I didn't see that the first 2 visits.
Cheers, TFTC

There was no one around as secured the find. I grabbed one that looked just like my photo profile in GC.com before they put the silly frog there.

11-Jan-06
8.15 PM is a good time to find this one. Took Joker as it reminds us of Barra 2 - The Joker in the family Big Grin .
Cheers from the Barramundi's

24-Dec-05
First solo find on SA holiday. Quite easy, noone around on Christmas Eve. Signed log, took Joker. Thanks Rav4 Raiders.

15-Oct-05
Snowone helped by lending his GPSr with the coords in it.

Couldn't recognise anyone in the deck

Took ACM30 TB

SL

21-Aug-05
Good cache, can imagine it being awkward during the week. Didn't recognise anyone in the cards. (probably a good thing!) Guess around our way they are too sneaky.

Took Beaufort Bear TB
left ACM30 TB (seemed very appropriate)

23-Jul-05
took amir hamudi hasanal-sadi - seven diamonds

this guy looks like one of my customers

good cache - could imagine that on a week day this would be impossible to recover due to muggles around.

came on a sat evening - took a while to locate due to bad sat lock, however with a torch located it at last.

TN left Bob beaufort bear Travel bug SL

03-Jul-05
Found the new carpark 200m east on a quiet Sunday morning. Nearly gave up finding the cache but it was found at the last minute. Took the 10 clubs, Latif Nusayyie Jasim Al-Dulaymi who MiniZyth1 thought looked like Uncle John. No swaps but took Vooglefish TB.

24-Jun-05
Radioactive, supposed to be studying for an exam next week, Decided to take off geoching with XYL.

Horror..on finding that he is back at the institution setting the above mentioned exam!

While keeping a look out for any tutors who may recognise him, the cache was found.

On identifying the picture on 6 clubs as the next door neighbour (really a nice guy), that card was taken.

24-Jun-05
Forgot that I dropped of the vooglefish TB.

15-May-05
Not sure how we missed this last time, we're sure we looked there... it was dark then though. Found with ease this time. We took the nine of diamonds, Taha Muhyi Al-Din Maruf, not because he looks like anyone we know (couldn't find anyone we thought resembled anyone we knew), but because he looks more like a grumpy english man complaining about his tea and scones more than anything...

10-Apr-05
Found at 8:10pm

Took forever to find it. lots of spiders.
took 8 of spades because of a striking resemblence to my step father :p.

Thanks R4R

PS Pen in cache is broken

25-Mar-05
No-one to be seen anywhere near GZ today! Had a pretty good search around but still I couldnt find the cache. Will have to have a bit more of a think on this one. Cheers.

17-Mar-05
Dropped by the area today but far to busy to search. Then as I returned to car I discovered I had a $25 parking fine for my 5 min stay!!! Doh! I will have to return at a less popular time.

06-Mar-05
Hmmm where are you hiding, or is the GPSr pointing me in the wrong place. found plenty of places representing infidel hiding place but no sign of any one home.

08-Feb-05
I couldn't even navigate the car park today let alone do cacheing!

Enjoyed the walk around even though it was 39 degrees. Trust the GPS. It took us straight to the cache. Adil Abdallah Mahdi (2 diamonds) came with us. He looked like so many people we have seen around the campfire - just a blach silhouette! Thanks Rav4.

16-Jan-05
Thought this would be a quick find (haha) GPS kept dropping out but finally found it at 18:45. T. 7 of clubs Ayad Futayyih Khalifa Al-Rawi he is just a profile because no one else looked like anyone we know

28-Dec-04
Nice walk around the grounds for this find. Took 2 of clubs, reminded us of our mate who wears a black balaklava in his MSN Messenger photo at time, since the pic was just a black outline and no actual photo of a person.

23-Dec-04
Found this cache when I was still a member of Beakers Bunch.
Thankyou

23-Dec-04
Found @ 1710.

A fairly quick find since the place was deserted because of the chrissy break. No infidels watching so find was easy. Took someone who reminded me of my boss.

Thanks Rav 4's

Ah Ha, i wondered who actually obtained those deck of terroist cards. we took the one who reminded us of the network nazi back at the office.
