A call from Cheezel1961 for a day getting wet. This and a few others the target for the day.Hunted for quite a while and could not locate this one. Evidence of water over the island (current swept leaves, reeds and sticks etc around tree trunks) I'd say this one has gone down stream. Replacement on hand. Replacement deployed.TFTC SL
Last week WayneAPN and I planed to head out for a few higher T caches where a kayak was required as a TOTT.This was one of those caches A very straightforward vessel launch, dodging Popeye steaming by until hitting the island.A solid search around the place, which included intel from a previous finder, turned up nothing. The area did however look as though it had been flooded at some point and with it being 949 days since last being found, we assumed it had been washed away.We then replaced the cache (as per the attached pic - a classic Freddo container )Heres a FP for the adventure of this onehappy hunting for the 9 folk watching this one TFTC
For a long stroll all over the Adelaide CBD. Got about 20 meters away away and decided Id have to do this another day. But it looks inviting.
gonna put this on the "maybe, one day, probably not" list!... balanced on first log, but 2nd and 3rd too covered for this little black duck.
Thought I'd have quick squizz at the location to see how hard it might be if I ever get around to this one.
Hard apparently... maybe one day.

This cache has been on my to-do list for many years, so while having a day off work, I put the kayak on the car and headed towards the Torrens Lake.
My aim was to do this cache and the other multi kayak cache near the zoo - a 4.2km paddle on a pleasantly sunny day.
Slid the kayak through the thick reeds and clambered out, up onto the island and started the search. Searched about 5 locations before finally uncovering the cache which was covered in grass, after nearly 14 months of unlove. The logbook was in pristine condition, and was dutifully stamped.
Continued to the weir to have a look over the edge and then headed upstream to the multi near the zoo.
Always love a water/kayak cache - fav point for this one

Big day out with the JAMS crew which involved a lot of activity. Today I wore waders for the first time, carried a kayak further than the kayak seemed to go In the water, walked a long way through a drain and utilized several other TOTTs.
Not too many caches found but a very rewarding day. Absolutely knackered afterwards!
We were a depleted JAMS crew as we were down 1 action man but still a fun day and enjoyed a coffee break and a lunch break. Lots of laughter today.
The remnants that Davidwazza and Gridge had found were replaced (original left in situ, with new hide on top) TFTC Freddo won’t be long before the grass engulfs this one again

Another day out was organised by the JAMMS team targeting kayak caches and some high terrain caches in and around the city with a few others thrown in. A fun day was had and a few weary bodies headed for home after a full day.
Another one that I thought I would never get, but where there's a will there's a way and today we got it.
Thanks for the cache Freddo, Ratty and Toad.

Got to within 10 metres before I realised a watercraft was needed. Ha!
Thanks for bringing me down here, though!

Find a spot! Jump in a kayak and go to an island. Could of said we found someones drug stash no idea where that came from. Night time and the original cache was as verified by the CO. Kudos was given, cache in desperate maintenance measures.
Tonight, [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and I came up with a plan for an evening kayak adventure whilst we were borrowing some kayak pieces. [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) wanted to study for an university test, but I was the evil one and convinced him that we'd only be an hour. After completing one Torrens' kayak cache, we then continued on to this one, and while most of the paddle was peaceful and enjoyable, we had to navigate the massive weir. So we had to find the right landing place, disassemble the kayak, and walk the kayak pieces over the soft/rocky ground, and bring them to a staging point at the weir walkway.
I scoped the side where this traditional cache was located, but after some considerable distance, there just simply was no launching point that I could find. I spotted a good location next to the restaurant, but after we started walking the pieces next to it, it didn't seem the best choice, since the fine dining restaurant still had patrons in it, and there was a fence that I hadn't considered prohibiting people walking next to it, obviously stopping people from launching their kayak-sectioned boats. [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) came to the rescue when he found a perfect secret path in between the reeds just a little more on, and in little time, we started paddling across the Torrens lake.
Upon near GZ, we were still in our boat, and rammed our way as close as possible to the required coordinates, when we saw a few items bobbing around. It was clear that these reeds had attracted various Torrens rubbish, but there was one container that looked like it may have been a cache container. So through careful balance, I reached over to grab it, and then started undoing the lid. Long story short, the container was far from the required geocache, with a number of syringes in it. Hmm. To be clear, I was in no danger as all the syringes looked still in their packaging and unused, but still not the nicest feelings for us to find.
Undetterred, [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) thought of another route to GZ, and so barged our way through an opening in the reeds to discover a secret hidden little area, and a place to bank our kayak. The island was awesome, and such a cool find! Whilst on the island, we then proceeded to look around the trees around typical spots, in amongst the long grass that was now growing on this secret paradise. We continued to look for some time, and as I was diligently feeling with my hands in amongst the grass depths, I felt something hard with corners, and thus a container was found.
The container was far what a geocache looked like, with it half full of water and looked like a small brain. The container also looked like it had remnants of black paint around it. We initially couldn't get it open, but then managed to crack it, to see it looked like a big ball of paper drenched together. From further communications with the CO, it seems like we found this geocache's initial container version. The CO was spoken to previously that with prior DNFs, perhaps we should take a spare over, but he assured us that it would be there. With that certainty, we didn't even think about bringing over spare containers or logbooks. So we left the container lid open and hoping it will dry out. We left it open for it to be obvious to future Geocachers, and recommend that the next visitors come with a replacement (or otherwise a CO visit may be needed). We also note that the hint may need to be updated since the shrubs look like they have grown up. Thanks [@Freddo](http://coord.info/PR8C14), Ratty and Toad, with a Favourite Point from me since this was an awesome gem area to find, despite the cache condition!

There were 4 pairs of eyes searching for this one today, but all we could come up with was discarded needles in a bottle and what looked like someones surgery specimen in a jar.
With the inflatable boat on hand I came across to assist in the search, got chased by an angry duck. Looked in the place I previously found it but nothing. Did someone recently loose a nut?
Part of a four person search party, unfortunately we found a heap of junk and a testicle in a jar but no cache.
We are unsure why we did not log this one earlier, A specific event hosted to attack this one back on the 20th December where Mr adder along with many others who attended as a massive support team for those few who had access to floating devices. With one un named member giving a demonstration on how to survive a capsize at the launch site we all watched and laughed. Meeting the search part adjacent the isle there were a number of suggestions of where this cache may be hiding. eventually it was found and all made their mark in that elusive and most important log book. TFTC Sir F and allowing us to enjoy the failings of others, It's all in the fun of the game though.
Shared effort to get to this cache. Great spot, never would have come to this part of the city without geocaching.

Joined in the crowd with hevwalker as we walked from gz to the nearby island,
where some friendly geocachers were already ascending the small island hidden by a wide fence of reeds.
We were soon joined by Bill& Janet and Ruff, ruff calling in to say hello.
It was a awesome evening to be out & I'm sure the guys had a great time messing around in boats.

Mr Tardis paddled across with several other brave cachers. We searched the island and came up with a cache buried under some grass. A fun inner city adventure, and a great evening to be messing around in boats.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Freddo, Ratty and Toad.

As part of a group assault on this one. Some walked and some paddled. The cache was a little elusive, but eventually found under the thick grass. Logbook passed around and names added.
Thanks for the cache Freddo. Found on 20 Dec 2017 at 7:52 pm. Find #5539.

Owl managed to pull off the forlorn look at a nearby event and deployed the geotools to collect a cache for her. The terrain rating was earnt by all that wandering around, watching other people do the water work. (But you knew that was going to happen, didn't you!)
The Sewer Rats opted to walk around lake.
And watch the paddlers make their way across to the cache.

The log stamped and on to the next cache. TFTC

Part of the pit crew to assist the paddlers we wandered around while the paddlers took the direct route, after pushing throught the reeds to the waters edge we found the paddlers once again searching the long grass until a cry of found it was heard, names were added, stamped, a dead duck and swan left in peace. Certainly a cache we have been wanting to cross of our list for a long time.

Spent ages on my tiny phone logging this, then the app and GC crashed. Suffice to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, caching in groups is always fun! I did help another cacher get his kayak onto his car, which was a good test for my naughty shoulder (my terrain test)
Stats wise, this fills a valuable spot, and when ProjectGC finally came back up, I noticed this is my 98th Freddo find. Better get onto a few more, although I reckon I could easily make one of the upcoming events number 100. Thanks for the many, many hides Freddo (and for the memories I now have of this particular outing)

This one has been burning a hole in my GPSr for a very long time, and I'm not the only one apparently. Being nearby for an event, and with an appropriate craft handy, I donned a suitable flotation device and went for a paddle with Moneydork. Boy the slope on that island is a sheer one. Cache found, and eventually signed personally, before we made the return journey. TFTC Freddo, Ratty and Toad!
Found as part of group effort while attending the nearby event.
A beautiful summer's night for it and the sixth of nine cache types for me for the day.
Thanks Freddo, Ratty and Toad for the cache.

After the nearby event it was time to get on the water and head over here, it was certainly a nice time in the evening to be paddling. Managed to get into the little channel which made getting in and out quite easy. Spent some time searching before the cache was found and log stamped.
Now for the return paddle, only thing that spoilt the evening was the number of dead water birds seen.

Been eyeing this one off for nearly 8 months now, thinking, how am I gonna get a kayak or any kind of floatation device to grab me this "yet to be" nabbed annoying green box still lurking on my map? Damn it! I thought, there must be a way across that annoying small body of water to that island. Well, today I did my "Jesus" act and walked on water... kind of yeah I got wet, but not as much as I thought I would. I even packed a change of pants and t-shirt Getting to the actual body of water proved the biggest challenge, Damn reeds! I was on the island in less than a minute and began my search. "Where is the damn thing! (I read Freddo's post saying it survived the flood of 2016) so it has to be here. About 5 minutes later I felt something hard under the grass.... Sweet as bro! [^] Cache in hand and I was quickly signing the log at 18:25 on St. Lovers Day 2017 [:X] I can confirm the cache and it's contents are all good. The small cylinder 3LG left is doing it's job well and the log within is perfect [^]. I left one of my BWT craft pegs. Swapped the Vegemite eraser for two small plastic animals TFTC Freddo
2nd kayak cache for the day. Out with sir_spectre and BONES plus REX ( the 1 foot T - Rex dinosaur ). We paddled over to the island and I scrambled ashore. There was a fierce feathered cache guardian that was making more noise than a roaring loin trying to keep me from the cache. Cache was looked for and then I phoned sir_spectre for a hint. A cache was then found, outer cache water logged but inner cache that 3lg placed was dry and log dry. stamped log. Took photos of the brave tbs that joined me in this adventure and paddled back.
if I had done this cache earlier it would have saved me carrying BONES up a steep hill for his D/T grid for this combo but here are some pics.
Out for a caching day in the inflatable boat that I've recently purchased at a garage sale to do a couple water orientated caches. This was the first one on the list. Step 1: Inflate boat. It stays inflated*check*. Walk from Bonython Park with my son and geobestie wikkid76 to a suitable lauching site and paddle to GZ. We walked up and down this island and I ring a previous finder to get a bit of a tip on where is it? All said and done we didn't find a cache today. My geoson found a heap of tennis balls, I means 20plus, I think if it was up to him we would have 30+ balls right now. We will be back another day to have fun again. TFTC
Have had my eye on this one for a while just waiting for our timetables to match. Mr 3lg and rod81w went to the island and searched for a while, by then I have launched my kayak and Mr 3lg came back for Mrs 3lg as back up. Mrs 3lg found in minutes the cache in probably the only bit of the island left unsearched. Must say it was a lot cooler on the water than the land, but you go to expect that on a 40 degree + day.
Met up with rod81w and sir spectre to do a couple of kayak caches in the city and this was one of them, after we eventually found the cache it is quite wet in there and for now i have placed a fresh log sheet within a 120ml container inside the original cache container. TFTC
Out for some kayak caches with sir_spectre and 3lg. Stranded on a island in 40+ degree heat wasnt a good idea haha. We searched high and low, here and there. After a good 45mins of searching Mrs 3lg landed on the island and had the cache within a few mins. Tftc Freddo and another adventure.
DAMN IT RISKED LIFE, LIMB AND DIGNITY SEARCHING FOR THAT CACHE AND WATCH SEVERAL ALL GIRL ROWING TEAMS GO BY AS I COWERED IN THE BUSHES WEARING ONLY UNDERPANTS AND CIT MY LEG SO THAT NOW AFTER I WADED BACK IT WILL PROBABLY NEED AMPUTATION AND DIDNT EVEN FIND IT!!!!!!!!!

Tad bit late, just found out that the phone didn't upload our find last year
We walked to this cache without reading the description too closely. We weren't allowed to bring the magic carpet on the plane, hence our failure to retrieve the cache.
Love the location and the idea to put a cache there though

The cache has been full of water and the log is both still damp and full (see my found it log). As I live nearby after discussion with the CO, I have agreed to replace the log and plastic bags etc as soon as convenient. In the meantime the old log is still there but will be very difficult to sign.
It was time to do our 600th cache so ideally it needed to be a little special. While I have a few solved puzzles waiting to be found, based on the logs and/or descriptions most of them seem to recommend the need for ropes, no fear of heights, specific tides or wind conditions, scuba gear, or at the very least some one to ring the police to let them know where to come to retrieve the body. I chatted with Janet who was happy to adopt the stay and manage the home front approach while I went out and braved the dangers of the GC world.
So I chose this cache.
Pros
- It's not too far from home.
- It gives me a chance to use my Christmas present again.
Cons
- it appears to have been challenging to find in the past: I note logs like "found on our 6th visit to the island".
- Some time has passed since it was last found.
but I found another "unloved" cache recently that had been unfound since 2012, so another would be a fitting 600th.
On arrival it is clear that nature has created a number of changes. The ladder option would no longer work as the 3-4meters deep mass of 4-5 meter high reeds procludes access to the southern bank. Overall the terrain points have not decreased. (Actually neither has the difficulty!)
I found a good spot to launch from the Par 3 golf course car park on the opposite side and set out on my way across.
Waved to Popeye as it went past the crazy man in the kayak.
After paddling up and down the island two thig ns wrere clear.
1: it is not possible to kayak around to the other side due the growth.
2: there are only one or tow possible landing places.
I did manage to land without submerging myself and tied the kayak off to a tree.
Off I went along the island to find the true GZ.
Previous finders have mentioned the challenges of searching in the undergrowth. While it seem some of the growth has been t rimmed back at some stage there are still many places where it is very deep. After 30 minutes of fairly systematic searching (and waving to Popeye twice more) I sheepishly rang the CO to ask for a hint. He gave me a hint which helped me refocus on a number of areas that I had already searched. I counted 11 areas that the hint could apply to. Eventually on my third attempt in one of these area a corner appeared. I had found the cache
Opening it sadly revealed that the tide was in. It was pretty well completely full of water. I drained it out and spent some time trying to dry the contents and the log book. The pages were not stuck together so as I tried to dry it I enjoyed reading previous finders' words. It seems the most recent log was from Chillibutts in mid 2012. I also spent time thinking that leaving my spare blank logs etc back in the car was not the cleverest thing I had done today!
After getting the contents as dry as I could I managed to put the B&J intiials and the date on the back page of the log (which is effectively full).
Relaunched and headed back.
Waved to Popeye as it went past the crazy smiling man in the kayak.
Took a Chillibuts pathtag (I think it's been here long enough - thx!), left a slightly drier cache, SL.

Firstly, let me reference my DNF in Sept 2011 (well... lets call it MtnLioness' DNF, clearly she didnt look hard enough).
Found today while going for 10/10 on a winters morning and the Family Chillibutts came up with 9/10. This was one of them.
The find did involve a wet bum, scrambling out of a blow-up dingy, declaring aloud "I am Bear, hear me roar", crawling around on my hands and knees for 5 minutes (in full view of Popeye), and signing log! Yippee. TFTC (pics attached). THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT!
Our NINE caches were (in order):
1. Event Cache- Probably the World's Shortest Event - 09:29:60 (http://coord.info/GC3JKDT)
2. Multi-Cache – Glover Playground (http://coord.info/GC1N0P7)
3. Traditional Cache- Dam! Where's the kayak?(http://coord.info/GCJ0WT)
4. Virtual Cache- Victoria Squircle (http://coord.info/GC40E2)
5. Mystery Cache - ClassicSongs III:2 minutes to midnight-Iron Maiden (http://coord.info/GC2N6XK)
6. Wherigo Cache- A cache is a cache is a cache is a cache (http://coord.info/GC3B659)

After five visits to the island since February 2011 we finally found this one yesterday. I'm not sure whether Freddo had been back to replace it but I suspect not as the cache looked old and the log book showed the last finder as blackred diddy in Jan 2011. I shuttled my two geo-kids over to the island and was taking the first one back to the mainland in what we thought was yet another failure, when I heard "Dad!!!! I found it!!!!!!". We headed back suspicious that it was a trick but it was no joke. Success at last thanks to my 6 year old who found it a little further south than we thought. The grass is thick and the cammo is good- so keep looking because it is definatley there. TFTC Freddo. It was great fun.

The lioness volunteered to try this one after getting the knack of paddling again after 10 years. I really enjoyed this, well, would have enjoyed it more had I been able to find something to sign. I had no idea what the clue meant so I scrambled around on all fours as the trees wouldn't really let me do otherwise and pulled all the grass away from the trunks revealing only dirt, hmmm, smallish hollow in the grass over there that looked like it had been pulled together by some creature, wasn't sticking my hands in there, who really knows what's in there? Did have a bit of a pull at it from behind but heard something in there so backed off.
Saw lots of kids balls floating in the alcove of reeds between the island and the bank but forgot to get some as I was called back by the shore frolickers afar off on the other side.
No cats were wet in the hunt for this cache either.
(Even though I had received a call from The Lost Wanderers the day before asking if tomorrow is the day for drowning cats.....??)

Think this one may have met a watery grave. We found a box with no lid floating in the water the size of the cache box in one of the photos. There was a lot of other junk but no log book. Its possible it could still be hiding in the thick kykuyu grass but, I think we're giving up on this one now.
Went back again determined not to be beaten but still couldn't find it. We may contact the last person to find it for some directions.
We had a look at how to get across and realized the easiest way will be by boat. The water level was high today due to the rain last night and most of the blue green algae has been washed away. Will launch the kyak from the car park opposite next time.
We got on the island this time using the kyak and couldn't find it. We searched the whole thing for about 1/2 an hour. There is lots of kykuku grass which may be hiding it somewhere on the eastern end under some trees. Or maybe it has been washed away. We may try again later in the year when the grass has died back a bit. We had a nice paddle along the Torrens though.
we first thought about walking or swimming but decided then better to rent( not steel^^) a paddle-o and hurt a little bit the rules of the lender
one of the best caches I ever had

Cacher X : Boats are for slackers like the SAS who get their SBS buddies to drop them off.
Cacher X : Sandshoe 5 do the big lap (National Highway one) , off you go ! see you in 2013.
Sandshoe 3: I will do it Sir.
Cacher X : Well done Sandshoe 3.
07:45 12.5 metres from GZ.
In the growing light, threatening rain, high lakes levels and a good 40cm of Adelaide's
best ooze.
Cacher X and Sandshoe 3 made it to GCJ0WT , signed the log and started the extraction.
07:50 On the way back Cacher X picked up 2 tennis balls and Aeroguard can, but once dry
land was reached it was discovered that the ooze had claimed Sandshoe 3's right sole,
totally sucked off in 40cm of ooze.
08:15 After showering off, Sandshoe 3 was awarded the Victoria Cross for caching under adverse
conditions and for continuing on after sustaining a major injury to his person and getting
Cacher X to work.
A note for others combined ooze sinkin and water level was 93cm

Not sure if I was in the right spot, I stepped lightly into the muck. And sunk. And stunk! You've gotta laugh. Decided not to continue and rinsed down with drinking water. Still stunk. Wish I had read the notes from other cachers before heading there. What a great challenge. Looking forward to returning when better prepared.
A Kayak would have been overkill... but the dam keeper has the water level up a bit. It was wet to get the cache. I first stepped in and sunk about 20cm. Mucky and yucky. Then I saw a board in the water going across. I used it...still was wet...but not muddy. Once in the zone...I had a lot of looking to do before I found the cache. A lot of grass grows down here by the river. Needed a serious weed-wacker to get to it. Was afraid I had muddied up for nothing...but finally found the cache.
Great spot....and fun too.

Mole: Its okay Ratty, it was just a sudden rush of wind
Toad: Looks to be blowing a gale now.
BANG!!!! CRASH!!!

Mole: I think we'd better investigate.
After investigating-
Toad : Ohh. It was the window of opportunity slamming shut.

Easy to get to now that WD's sabotaged the weir , rather tricky hide, though. I saw a rat. Mrs O doesn't like rats. I then told her it had large bushy eyebrows. She hates eyebrows, too (especially when they move). With that in mind, we found the cache and I followed Mrs O out of the area (but couldn't keep up). TFTC, Freddo and Co.

No water in the damm means no kayak required!
The thought of being able to grab this one easily crossed our minds soon after hearing about the 'malfunction'. Waited until we were on 699, then enjoyed a 20km bike ride along the river? and made this find 700!
Letf a couple of TB hoping that they won't be left on a deserted island.
Thanks Freddo.

Too good an opportunity to pass up. I had made plans to hire a paddle boat to get this one, but today that would have only hindered me ( See Pics ). Thankfully no need disobey any warning signs. Spent a little too long searching but eventually came up with the goods. Took 2 x TB's. TFTC.
Left the kayak at home cause someone pulled the plug out of the lake. Still a little squishy underfoot. TFTC
After not having much luck in Hahndorf this morning, I thought I would go kayaking - ah Dam I don't own a kayak!!
That's OK, I know a cache that doesn't need one at the moment but it is filling up. Found a couple of spots to cross - the most obvious would lead to knee-deep mud but the less obvious leads to the island.
A quick find but like the previous finder no Geocoins in sight but I think there is someone that hasn't logged yet.

It's like walking on water...
Since the tide was out, there was a once in twenty year chance to walk on mud to this one!
The three of us set off from the bank and walked the plank, made our way down the island, and got the find. All up I didn't even need to bring the spare pair of shoes in the end, as they hardly got a bit of mud on them
Thanks to who ever found the plug, and gave us the chance to make an easy find!

Our 4th find 'while the tide was out,' although this one came about through very different circumstances to the drought.
Followed the geotrail through the reeds and were happy to walk across without getting muddy shoes [^].
Surprised at how big Freddo, Ratty and Toad's island was.
Quickly found the cache, then sat on the grass looking over the lake as we signed the log [^] (surprised no log from TeamHurtle yet)!
Took flag stickers (didn't see any GC ). Left bookmark and chalk stick. SL.
Thanks guys .

YeeeHaaaarrrrrr
This has been bugging me for quite along time in my close to home list, and quite regularly sitting as my closest unfound Traditional cache.
Checked the area out at the weekend with Mrs C and the kids and found the best approach, but didn't want to end up with manky shoes in the geomobile. We all enjoyed the view from the weir as we spotted 5 turtles swimming around. Most we've seen before in one spot was 2.
Tonight spotted a few large fish in the pond, before proceeding to the island. Footing is quite good, and looking at the height, I'd be tempted to wade again as only the knees would get wet. Other methods would risk falling in
Had a short look whilst waiting for Winterdragon to negotiate the city streets (forget to mention the recent cricket matches to him ). Cache found in the last spot we looked - it should've been the first.
Lovely poem to read, and the grass was lovely and soft to sit on and read and be amazed at the number of recent logs. Guess Hurtle had better get in quick, as there was some rain tonight on the drive into the city, although we did find some rope on the island for access off.
Had finally got access to a kayak recently, so was always going to do this cache sometime this year; guess it's only needed for Isle of Illusions now.
Swapped a Fish TB for a Geocoin.
TFTC Freddo, Ratty and Toad.
Cheers

Been planning to do these river caches for a while, but didn't want to end up like Modu on the Isle of Illusions. So devised plan B - arrange for the weir to "accidentally malfunction", drain the lake, wait for the mud to dry, then grab the cache sans watercraft! Too easy!
Thanks to Calumphing Rich for scouting out the best crossing point - the one I found had footprints 6 inches deep in the mud, probably from the previous finders.
Took a fish TB
Left Great Voyages geocoin
Thanks for another great cache Freddo!

Yet another team in the peak rush to this cache while the waters out. Unfortunately took the seemingly most obvious and used route. One too many doughnuts left me with a sinking feeling half way across. Lucky I was wearing crocs.
Took the firmer route on the way out.

Mud is drying out nicely. There are two good approaches. Neither of them are immediately adjacent to GZ. Mud probably has an MSDS. That is Material Safety Data Sheet.

Well well well. ACC might be erecting a fence, but only along the main lake!
With hopes of getting an easy find, Bek-Theraccoon and I braved the mud to see what was in store. Initial attempts failed as we realised we were likely to end up more than knee deep in the mud, and neither of us had suitable footwear, alas, we bashed through some reeds and found a more walking friendly spot, and then we were only a hop, skip and a jump away from the island.
However, what we thought would be a relatively easy find took almost half an hour to discover, right under our noses. We got some funny looks from people jogging past in their lunch hour.
Was also amused to see the rope on a tree, which looked like it may have been used to help some fellow cachers across at an earlier time.
Pleased to report all is in good order, and if anyone's watching this, now is the time to get it!

Funny thing is, Racing Stripes told me she'd write a one sentence log for this cache.
After the immensely fun challenge of crossing the torrens, we were left relying on a GPSr that wouldnt make up its mind. I ended up coming upon it by accident but was certainly glad to claim the find.. finally
Took nothing but satisfaction, and left a travelbug that likes fishing spots (You could probably fish out some pretty spectacular things, like shopping trolleys, traffic cones and rusty cars). My brother also tells me the goldfish in the torrens are gigantic.
Thanks Freddo for the cool poem, the nice location, the awesome journey, and of course, the cache!

Breaking news: This unloved cache currently is unfound for nearly 18 months. A overnight malfunction in the Torrens weir has left an easy dry, but probably muddy, route to the cache.
