Well – I checked this out today, and with over 662 trees in the park, they decided to cut the one containing GZ down! It is completely gone! Nope – they didn’t ask my permission, they didn’t check if there was a cache in the tree, they just cut it down… Oh well – good excuse for a new cache!
Nice! A like a good challenge and I got there in the end My coords were a little off but some critical thinking got me there
Well I first tried this about a year ago I think. It was certainly the same sort of weather. I collected all the info and went home to work out the location. From a process of elimination I discarded two of the possibilities due to their location and searched at the third. Nothin' doin.
Some time later, having forgotten how I arrived at my coordinates I emailed TE with all my data which he confirmed was accurate, plus some more general info about where I should end up. So I redid my calculations and came up with the same spot. So I just took a punt and moved the projected GZ to the nearest border.
Today I had just finished the multi in the park and decided to check out this one too. I was pretty happy with what I found at my adjusted GZ and so set to work searching. I finally located something suspicious but do to the size of my hands I couldn't reach it! I cast about and found an appropriately size pursuadatron but had to wait for some parks worked to finish collecting leaves for a good go at it. I finally managed to get it out only to be thwarted by the log! It was expanded to way bigger than the opening.
So another 5 minutes of wrangling and FINALLY I got it out. A fitting end to a long saga. Thanks TE.

I started this cache 5 years ago. Has anyone taken so long to finish it?
Sunday was a good time to visit and retrieve this one and feathedown and Sally were
lucky recipiants of a great caching adventure in this park.

After a nice stroll through these gardens we used our combined resources to unearth this one.

I was so sure that I had found this one first but it turned out to be only one
of many many potential hidey holes at GZ.

A little bit of walking around, a little research, a little calculation, a little estimation, a little luck. I was expecting a DNF on this especially as it was lunchtime with people everywhere but I found it a little easier than expected, but some of that was the "little bit of luck". Took a while to replace it, waiting for people to pass by, even the local police foot patrol passed by.
Enjoyed the walk around this park that only lacks of parking so a nearby spot was located and playing on fact that it was late into the night we got away with it. Still been chased into the park by another bloke who's car parked near us thoughts of trouble or a cache stalker crossed our mind but he had other thoughts and found what he was looking for as did we,
JABs.
JABs.
Collecting the required info on a previous trip, I sat at home and worked through the puzzle. Coming up with a set of co-ords that looked good all we could do was hope they were right.
Arrived at GZ to make a quick find in this lovely park. Not exactly sure what it was in the bottle that the young bloke retrieved from the nearby bushes but he made a fast exit after picking it up.

3838. [font=Century Gothic][green]Well bowly I have very similar timeframe but a very different ending 2 years and 18 days ago a DNF. Back today and without doing the workings again went straight to where I had it pegged last time and there it was in the second spot I looked. Amazing. This is the second oldest unfound ACT cache by me and yes TE you also have the oldest on my list - the first Meander. Won't be doing that today tho'.
Some little history about the house that the park was named after. It was built in 1871-3 as the permanent rectory of the church of St John the Baptist. It had 12 rooms plus a basement as well as a separate stable and coach house. The land was given to the rector so as to earn an income from rent.
For a short time from around 1926 to 1930 it was used as C of E schools (including a brief stint as Canberra Grammar School). In 1930 it became a boarding house and stayed that way until it was demolished in 1954 despite protests from the community.

I attempted this cache two years ago without sucess and today I repeated my efforts... My GZ seemed to match some of the descriptions given in previous logs, but my cache blindness is obviously acting up. Thanks anyway.
Round and round the park I go! Quite enjoyed this one (not much good at the cryptic puzzles!)
Thanks TE

Finally found after several half hearted attempts. A near by muggle attraction has been removed which means it is now easier to search. Alex slept in her pram as I searched. She was supposed to be watching for muggles. TFTC.
Did half my searching for this one last week waiting for my caching friend. Today I was waiting for him to finish work again. So I finished off this cache. Got to gz and really had to get into it. TFTC
I attempted this cache in February but the cache was missing at the time. Today I dug out my notes from back then and picked up the kids from school. I told them I was taking them to a park for a treat:-) Like all good parents teaching there kids to be independent, I left them at the play ground while and went cache hunting. Happily I found it this time around! TFTC!
Finally found it.
Have been here and searched the same spot about 5 times.
Tonight me and Telephasic dropped in to try one more time. I called it, but he searched one more time (in a spot i KNOW we've searched many time before) and there it was.
A great end to a great puzzle.

Did the work on this one over a couple of days last year while on a course in Civic. There were too many people around at that stage to make a good search, so today was the day. A nice quick find with the cachekid after picking up balloons for his birthday.
Tried cracking the coords with the iPhone last year, but needed Google Earth to get them accurate enough - too bad I didn't have the Garmin back then. Great idea, nice strolls through the park and a nice easy find to conclude with. TFTC Tankengine

It took a couple of attempts to get this one but Newberys and I joined forces to compare our co-ordinates and with the use of Google Earth we were able to narrow down the location where we had been initially searching. Whew! Glad to get this one out of the way. It must have taken you a little while to work out this one TE so well done on the thought and effort you placed into this cache. Cache was found in good condition and no dampness. At least the local gardeners won't look at me suspiciously now... Cheers and TFTC
Today my Dakota GPS showed an accuracy no better than 9m, sometimes worse...[:(!] I might have just used an Iphone for accuracy
Went for a walk around the Park and came up with 3 possible mistaken gates. After doing the maths only one co-ord stood out as being the most obvious. Got to GZ and could only have a quick poke around as nearby were a group of guys playing soccer. As I was not 100% confident on an accurate GZ I will come back another lunch hour with my trusty Etrek to get better co-ords.

[A nice warm Sunday, ideal for a trip to Glebe Park to find this. Only... it's Mother's Day and there were thousands of muggles around, having fun, eating sausages, listening to a guy sing Robbie WIlliams songs, etc. etc... We counted the gates, and are quite unashamed to admit that the puzzle made no sense whatsoever... went back home, did the sums, found a few promising places in Google Earth and came back later that night...]
It turns out that some muggles (probably running a nearby sausage stall or such) or their kids put a few huge chunks of ice over the cache! I don't think they noticed that the cache was there though. It was obscured by plenty of fallen leaves. I threw the ice out.
[We also had quite a hard time getting the newly-printed log sheet out of the container (the condition of the cache itself was fine). We re-folded it a more finger-friendly way. Thanks for the cache!]

TFTC. Surprised how close we were after trying to estimate the gate coordinates with the GSP varying quite a bit.
I've had a crappy couple of caching days, with a string of DNFs. Perhaps I've lost my mojo.
This was a lovely walk around Glebe Park though. My final GZ calculations put me in someone's backyard - then a recalc put me in someone else's backyard. Hmmm, I don't think so. A final check of my calculations, and realised I'd used the wrong gate coords as a starting point. D'oh! Quick fix and I had myself more in the right region, but still needed the clue. So I now know where-ish it is, but still couldn't locate. I'll have to double check my initial coords and try to calculate more accurately.
I will find it - eventually!
Uh oh - just read some logs and have gleaned that I was kilometers off! I'll have to go back and start again.

I think of this one as a bonus cache for the day. Had done a run of 40-50 in the NW and was coming back through the city to meet up for dinner. I then thought- hang on maybe I have the final co-ords for Glebe Gates- and so I did!
We have been working on this one for some time- took a while for things to click then a couple of visits measuring and looking. It always bugged me as it was one of the last left in Civic for me to do.
Anyway, the calcs must have been correct and got to within a tree. After a short search pleased to say cache was in hand. Thanks!

It has taken me a couple of visits to acquire the necessary information and deduce a GZ. There seemed to be a so many options! Some exclude themselves. Others require a careful interpretation of the instructions and some 'leaps of faith' (well for me anyway)! I ran my logic past Tankengine and received confirmation.
So, left the chores for later and out for the find. So easy when you know where! It seemed to be quite safe and out of the way from muggles.
Thanks T/E for another fun/challenging/frustrating/informative cache!

A better today to be out and than yesterday......however there was nothing any easier about it.
Walked around and found some names, took some calcs......put them all together.........and nothing. So we tried another angle......... and distance.........and bingo, a nice new log sheet.
Thanks Tankengine, this was fun, confusing, but best of all, it's now completed.........

1127 - Thanks for getting this one back on line tankengine - Sol and I have been waiting to have a proper go at it.
A bit confused at the start, but then a logical and methodical approach was used and our second calculated GZ was spot on - and always nice to see a blank sheet of paper - although not a FTF of course!!
Never realised there were 10 gates to the Park before !!
TNLN - TFTC !!
Cheers....

should have read the DNF logs before attempting this one again. But a short stroll from work so nothing lost. I think this one needs looking at.
We came here twice, once during the day and searched extensively, then again the next night with a local cacher who has found it before. I suspect it is not there.
Possibly be back soon, will you replace it?
Thanks for the walk in the park, Robmc.

After a quick trip around the park, all gates located and GZ calculated, I found some muggles picnicing close to GZ so I couldn't search well and left empt handed.
1618. Two trips to some of the gates and the GPS was showing up to a 20m difference. I know wind can't do that!

#234 - Haven't been to the park in years! Wandered around the outside and used some elementary deduction and the hint to find GZ. Calculations were pretty close.
The log was very damp and dirty. Luckily the pen worked as it was there wasn't adequate sun to dry it today.
Thanks Tankengine

After gathering the required info yesterday morning. Some quiet time away from the 4 kids was needed to complete the caculations.Found easily this morning log sheet was vert wet. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.
Found at 08:15 after a very pleasant early morning stroll which was punctuated with a bit of maths. The co-ords were pretty much spot on. The log was a bit damp so I left it sitting in the morning to sun to dry out a bit but it still needs to be dried out completely. I've been meaning to tackle this one on a few of my visits to Canberra but something else usually makes a claim on the time but this weekend I was determined to start & solve it.
Thanks for the challenge
Thanks for the challenge
This took a while, I was not even sure what was required when I left home. But as we walked around a picture started to form, can it be? Had revisit a gate to check co-ords and then straight to the cache. TNLNSL. Thank you for a challenging cache.
Although I have driven past all sides of this park and run through it a couple of times I have never seen it properly before. Nice little walk around the site and like others had to rely on elimination to work out the mistaken gate.
After checking the maths and getting a GZ that seemed resonable I soon had the cache in had GPS said 4m to GZ so pretty pleased with the Forerunner 305's acuracy.
Its great the afternoons are getting longer, time to keep clearing out caches on the Northside. Thanks Tanky.

The plot thins....
Decided to finally tackle this one today, but wasn't even sure if I understood what was required with all of the extra gates. Then when I got part way around I came across some construction & thought perhaps some of the gates were out of bounds (but I can assure future cachers that there are no problems).
I ended up with a couple of possibilities, but quickly realised that only one would work - got to a spot that I had suspected earlier in my walk & lo & behold there was the cache - a neat little film cannister as per the instructions. Interestingly this log was last signed by nm7s9.
Not having read nm7s9's subsequent online log, I decided to have a look around & found the other cache right on top of this one when I replaced it. I decided to remove that cache & will pass it on to Tankengine at the event on Sat. I'm amazed I didn't spot it when I initially retrieved the cache.
TFTC - good to have another mystery solved - now there is definitely only one cache to find!

Ah! Thanks for solving the puzzle Tealby! I’ve been meaning to follow this up – I had my suspicions! Some while ago, the cache was reported missing. Some while later, I went to check on it, and couldn’t find it! (Hmmm – couldn’t find my own cache – now thats not good! – Should I claim a DNF?) So, I replaced it! Seems the old one has re-appeared somehow, and then there were two!
Thanks again Tealby – I hope to make it on the weekend, see you then.
Tankengine.

Well, the GPS gods were mocking me today.
Worked out the missing gate options with one walk around the Park and calculated which one had to be the right one. A garden bed nearby I spied, and waited patiently for some muggles to move on who had way too much time on their hands... Search as I might there, I couldn't find it. But I'd only had 15-20m accuracy on the GPSr, so the compounding errors meant I could have been some way off.
So around the Park I went again, and calculated GZ to be 50m away! And no nearby hiding place. Hmmm. Around again. 50m further away... Stop mocking me.
Enough of the bad readings, and used my caching sense and found it 30m further away. What a relief, but read logs of several others who had no trouble at all and found it straight away. Grrrr.
Thanks Tank Engine for an excellently constructed puzzle, which together with my bad reception made a 6 star degree of difficulty.
Agree with SS-BJC on the gap in log entries.

Thanks tankengine for another really great cache. Glebe Park is beautiful and it was great to tour around it and then through it.
Don't want to sound like the cache police but the last logged visit was Captain Tomato so I am not sure what the last few logs are on about. Perhaps there is a decoy cache or something?

This cache just became a member of the elite "unmissing" caches. There are now two "Glebe Gates" caches in close (and I mean the term literally) proximity.
I found the other one today. We have the second and third incarnations of this cache present. How nobody has found them both at once is the true mystery. Not only do we have a mistaken gate we've even got a mistaken cache.
PS - can I count this as 0.5 of a find

Hi TE
Something weird about this - perhaps there is a decoy cache somehow???
Something weird about this - perhaps there is a decoy cache somehow???
I don't know what we did wrong! It wasn't until we were miles away we realised there was only 7 gates listed!!! So was our gate the mistaken gate or simply a not listed gate?? The spot we thought it was in was being camped out by some gentlemen drinking warm VB. So even if we had the wrong spot the muggles weren't going anywhere.
Oh well maybe next time.
Oh well maybe next time.
Boy - did I mess this one up. Mistaken cacher ,not Mistaken gate. The only thing I did right was to pick the correct Glebe Park. (Actually, I can't find another Glebe Park in Australia, so finding this park was a breeze)
I ended up in a awful spot with 6 million people watching my every move and I came up empty except for an unopened cylinder of M%Ms (which I returned uneaten to the tree stump).
Finally I saw my mistake and the new calculations proved spot on.
There a lots of entries in the log for the last few days, I hope we see some of them here.

Huzzah finally found it. ABC 75th birthday in the park and while the LittleAmbassador watched Jay and Dorothy the Dinosaur I did the gate-walk. Again like all others I had three gates that could be the mistaken gate and therefore produced three answers. Only one really fit into the park. There was a "park dwelling person of lower economic fortune" right next to the cache but I don't think he realised what he was doing.
A person also logged it on 15/03/07 - possibly a muggle didn't take down the name

Picked this one up around midday with Captain Tomato. CT did most of the ground work and sums through the week and today we returned to locate the GZ. Must have done something right - found it in about 5 minutes. TFTC
Sandsoap and I found this one without too much trouble. Found all the gates and did the sums but ended up with Sth coords that landed us in the burbs. Tried several combo's but still same result. Oh well - at least we had the E coords, so using that we identified 2 possible spots and sure enough the second was the actual GZ. Signed the log. TFTC (and the challenge)!
Picked a busy day to try this one. Drove around a few times, stopping to get gates and co-ords. Little confused as 2 gates were not on the list?. Allrounder helped us out once we had all the data. Nice little hide - and I could get the lid off! (see Fore!'s log)

Happy Australia Day! - What better day to go caching?
Found this one with Shadow! on a fairly long day out and about... although this one was a little frustrating for us. After circumnavigating the park a few times, we had a list of gates that included TWO gates that were not on your list... not just the one mismatched... and so a guessing game was bound to ensue to work out which of the two of these matched the wrongly named one. Sigh.. some things are never meant to be easy.
Despite the general frivolities in the park for Australia Day celebrations, we were unspotted retrieving the final cache.
Shadow! couldn't open it - clearly it's child proof!!! [:o)]
TFTC - I like the idea and the area.

Found @ 3.31pm.
Decided to have a break from work & strolled down to the park. Once there I commenced my leisurely circuit making note of each of the ten gates.
I quickly figured out which was the "mistaken" gate but was left with three that could be the "right" one. Couldn't think of a quick way to solve it so just figured out the new co-ords using the distances to St John's Gate from each of the three.
Bizarrely the distance to the cache location came out at over 1.4k for each one. Obviously I had done something wrong & sure enough it was me not paying enough attention to the instructions - add THEN substract for the new south co-ord not just simply subtract!!
The first of the three locations I plugged in was pointing me outside the park but the second attempt lead me directly to the spot!
Not too many muggles about so I was able to easily retrieve & replace the container.
After starting this one at the end of last summer & then losing my workings, I'm glad I was finally able to knock it off!

Not too many muggles about so I was able to easily retrieve & replace the container.
After starting this one at the end of last summer & then losing my workings, I'm glad I was finally able to knock it off!
TFTC!!
Okay, it took me two attempts. The first time, I had trouble working out which was the mistaken gate. Second time, I still couldn't find the cache. I found what I thought was evidence of a possible muggling. I phoned for help and got a pointer in the right direction.
I thought the muggles canoodling on the grass might be a problem, but it turned out they weren't too interested in what was going on around them. The canoodling guys on a nearby bench on the other hand, were interested in why I was wandering behind trees etc! I don't think it helped that I kept looking over to see whether they were watching me.
Anyway, I was eventually able to grab the cache fairly discreetly, sign the log and return it to it's spot.

Rated: for Overall Experience
I had to get some photos developed for the Photographic Society competition on Tuesday, so while I was in Civic, I decided to give this one a crack while I had some time to kill.
I had a bit of trouble figuring out which gate was the Mistaken one, and eventually figured it had to be one of two. I ran the calculations on both, but only one was inside the park, so that narrowed it down.
While I was checking out the gates, I walked past a spot and thought: "I bet it's in there!" Turns out I was right! Unfortunately, the GZ was crowded out by what looked like a church group having a service then a lunch in the park.
So, it was off to find "Botanical Boggle", then I came back to the park and found it straight away: the cache was lying on the ground in the open. I signed the log, then put it back in what I thought was a suitable spot, and covered it over.
TNLNSL TFTC! Excellent work!

It took me a while to work out the clues (I love caches that make me think). TFTC.
Manage to find this one on our second attempt. This first attempt we managed to confuse each other sufficiently to mess up any chance to locate the cache. On the second attempt we took a more methodical approach, oh and it helps if you read what you are supposed to do properly as well.

OK - cache is back! Please make sure it is well concealed when you replace it...

Hmmmm - looks like the container has gone missing again. Will have to check the options/fix...
We started this one a few months ago whilst we were in the ACT, but could not find GZ at the time. (Turns out it was actually missing when we were looking).
Came back to the ACT this weekend to catch up with ADACache and family, and we stopped off to complete this one whilst in town.
Found it? Well not quite. We searched high, we searched low. Not a cache to be found! Even ADACache who found it recently was unable to locate it . Contacted TankEngine with the bad news, and he kindly allowed me to log the find
Thanks TankEngine

Well after a few attempts when the cache was missing, I have finally made it back to pick this one up. Cache was where it was meant to be, but it looks like a possum may have had a little go at it.

Finished this one off with ADAcache & AshDash. They had done all the work, and being from interstate I was along for the ride. We did a good walk around the park so that I knew all the work they had done.
A lot of work went into this one! Unfortunately the possums have been munching on the container and it needs replacing, but not in a huge hurry.
For the hermit quest game - meets the "gate" requirement.
Thanks!

I was very surprised to find the GZ to this one. The method was very original but I did end up with 3 unmatched gates. After checking the clue, I was more on target but was concerned about the inaccuracy that I was getting at a gate with many trees. Well, why not try for the GZ anyway. I was totally bamboozled when the coords that I entered took me exactly to the cache with a quick find.
Thanks Tankengine for the cache. TNLN.

This was my last cache for the evening. By the time I arrived, I had already walked 11 km. When I read my PDA, I realised I had to walk around the park.
This I did, finding all the named gates except the missing one. I thought this was a virtual and so, once found, I headed back to my hotel. It was only when I returned home to Melbourne to log my finds that I discovered there was more info on my PDA about how to calculate GZ.
Boy do I feel stupid! Never mind, I'll give it a go next time I'm in town. Thanks for the walk.

Well I almost gave up. But apparently 3rd time lucky is the go. Nothing like rain to make it all more fun. 17.15. Thanks.

What makes this one tricky is that any errors in the entered coordinates are compounded. In my case GZ was a non-descript piece of grass. (The gardener even asked why I was carrying a GPS). Still, luck was on my side. Which was good as I was running late for a meeting at the National Convention Centre adjacent. Thanks for the stroll around this interesting park.
OK - the container has been replaced (It's now a film container). So the cache is up and running again!

As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Checked on this today, and confirmed the cache is missing... - Will replace soon.
Nicely planned mystery and nice walks in park. I was amazed how accurately I was able to determine the coords. Found the cache without any searching.
Picked up the clues for this while doing (and then waiting for others to finish) the Urban Camouflage event. Then off to find it, which was very fast (but perhaps a little luck involved, as always).
Took crab, left peg.
Took crab, left peg.
'Thought we'd do a ThomasS Appreciation Tour - Botanic Boggle, Glebe Gates & Tourist Tours. Solved the S and, luckily, that was enough! Took marble & left 50c (in case a geocacher needs it for parking).
Finally found this after returning for a second trip. On the first visit I spent a couple of hours logging everything in the park then went home and mapped it out. A very interesting cache, but after reading the other logs I can see how the answer is not all that clear. One of the gates listed is a misnomer but it could be one of three other options available ... enough, or this will turn into a spoiler!
One around to look at all the gates. Then realised which on the list was the Mistaken Gate, but which on the ground matched it? I know now, but I didn't when I found the cache. I was actually trying to figure out the parameters of the longtitude when I thought, that's a good place to hide a cache, and on that hunch reached in and found it. I then worked out which was the Mistaken Gate, but am still in the dark as to why. TNLN.
After setting off from the Canberry Gate, after passing a few gates I formed a hypothesis about which gate in the above list was probably the one. The trouble is, that one doesn't exist! So either one of the gates has disappeared, or there is some hidden gate near the casino or something, or else there is another "mistake" in this cache. Did anybody check the above list of gates to see if they all exist?
I agree. I found that there were two gates listed that didn't exist and found three not listed. Was I missing something? I had to think beyond the square to work out the final location. Not sure if it's on purpose, but it certainly makes it hard.
A lot of reading, thinking and deduction is needed for this one. Like other geocachers, I'm a bit confused as to which gate is the mistaken one (I had two potentials on my list). But once I had deduced where it could be, a quick search found it. Great cache to do as you walk around this popular Canberra park.
Just to let any new visitors know. I have the bug. I've had a bit of trouble getting the bug number and a computer connected to the internet together at the same time. But it will be soon... Very soon.
Found with MtbikerOz, 2 Leg Drive and Mr Darcy (it was like a little mini caching event!! [:o)]).
After searching the park for the missing gate we couldn't find the gate but we did find MtbikerOz who told us he was meeting 2 Leg Drive later on. We all met at the arranged time at the start location and just as we were about to set off Mr Darcy arrived.
Had a bit of trouble at first figuring out the mistaken gate but we got it and off we went. We searched HIGH and low, with the cache hiding spot being found by Mtbiker.
There were some strange geomuggles in the area including one who kept looking at us and calling out the name Russell which caused us to give each other confused looks until 2 Leg finally asked him what he was on about. He explained he was trying to be funny as we were russelling in the leaves (it obviously didn't work!), he finally gave up and said he was going and would leaf us alone!!!
Took Mini Car and left a Crab, thanks ThomasS for a tricky cache.

Sort of found it.
Met MtBikerOz (I could tell him by the duck feathers caught in his teeth), The Ss and TwoLegDrive near the starting gate. They had done the hard yakka and were puzzling out the clues, but I chose not to cheat and was walking around the park getting fixes on the gates when I heard much gleeful yelling and see MtBikerOz throwing an oversize film canister in the air.
Ah well there goes the puzzle so I joined in the merriment and scored my first ersatz cache. Probably just as well as I was getting very poor reading on the gates (EPE 10..17m)
Great to meet some fellow cachers

Ah, a nice Sunday afternoon. Was having lunch on a bench by St. John's gate when the S's rocked up all confused and mystified after walking around the park twice. Told them I was meeting 2 Leg Drive later at the start so after lunch I would meet them there (after they had lunch too.).
So whilst having lunch I pondered the whole thing and read carefully all that ThomasS wrote. Lunch demolished, I cycled around the park noting the coords of all the gates, then rather than plot distances on thre GPS, I merely rode from the St. John's gate to the required gate and measured the exact distance on my cycle computer. EASY.
Met up with the S's, 2 Leg Drive arrived and just as we were about to head off after conferring & comparing calculations, Mr. Darcy arrived. We agreed where it was so off we went. 2 Leg Drive insisted on looking everywhere and putting his hand where mere mortals would never think of.
Eventually I found it - and we all shared in the merriment.
That guy rustling in the leaves and leafing us alone was a bit weird.
Left a shark TB, promptly taken by 2 Leg drive, then Coooeee off I rode back home.

Yeah I know. I'm slack. My postings is a bit slow, but hey that's me. S l o o o w .
So any way who needs an OFFICIAL caching event? All we need to do is pick a newish cache, pick a nice Sunday afternoon and then just turn up. Hey presto caching event. I for one had a great time. A bit of caching gossip for the group and a bit of monkeying around for me.
ooh oh eik. [:o)]
BTH the way cache was good to, even though I did not add to much to the hunt. I think my only suggestion was to follow the southern co-ord back and forth and see where it met up with a gate and a good cache hiding spot.

This would have to have been easier if I had the slightest bit of local knowledge but perseverance paid off and I finally got figures that put me in the right area. Good placement and really difficult to acces and not be noticed. TNLN
Found at 8:05 tonight. This was our second attempt at the cache though and after emailing ThomasS. We'd spent quite a while in the park last Sunday, completing 3 laps as we figured out the meaning to the description. We came close to success on our first attempt but small variations in GPSr readings certainly justifies the star rating for difficulty. After finding it tonight we swapped a triceratops for a scorpian and then watched a fat opposum scale one of the nearby trees. Thanks ThomasS for an interesting 150th.
Ahhh – good to see it can be found! I was getting myself confused at one stage there. Well done The Hill 4!
I think one of the key elements to finding this cache is to take your time when getting readings! (Maybe take them twice) The more accurate your readings the higher your chance of success!

Very true re:taking your time in the city with the GPSr. As 'bushy types' we are too used to getting near perfect coverage on hills with little cover or obstructions.
Those attempting (or have completed) CCC and GG should take on board ThomasS's advice. Likewise for Sydney and Melbourne caches.
