18-Jul-23
Heading back to Orroroo from a visit to the gorge, Mr Tardis stopped here and hiked up the hill with full motorcycle gear on to add to the challenge of getting up that hill!

The cache was found in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?

Some beautiful views from up here. The cache is in good condition.

Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Alex.

04-Apr-21
Enjoyed our stroll up the hill and the views from here this morning Cool.
TNLNSL.
Surprisingly, this was not the oldest cache we found today Smile.
Thanks Alex & Jock.

This one was on our list for todays adventures, on a warm Easter Sunday. Took the opportunity to park a bit further down the road and walk up to this one, through what looks like a heap of regrowth since placement. This hill is now very wooded, obstructing the views from the top unfortunately. What we could see was fantastic. Cache and log in good condition today. We seem to be following DISK today. TFTC

Seeing I did the walk to grab the Crocs cache Mr Beetle felt obliged to tackle this one. A short but steep walk and he was soon at GZ. Log book was saturated so he just left a bit of paper in there with our cache name on it but that is probably sodden and unreadable by now. Thanks, great views even from where I waited in the van.

01-Feb-15
Was found full of water . Everything was saturated.

28-Sep-14
Can at last say I have attempted the Heysen Trail. A beautiful view and a lovely walk although probably shouldn't have attempted it in thongs . Left scorpion paperweight

15-Jul-12
Learnt a valuable lesson today, Do not switch off GPS after finding the cache.
As this cache is in no known trail, and in densely thick scub.
And after finding the RIGHT place to find to park Geovehicle(after walking up the wrong hill twice lol)
I found the cache only 125mts from where the car was parked, but due to my error i walked nearly a kilometer back to the car. This scrub very thick with saplings and i followed a goat trail down the scenic valley lol.
Noted 2 TB's took one, the cache was only visited yesterday so i left the "Skull Racing " geocoin.

14-Jul-12
Driving with 15 minutes before sunset... I said I could do it and be back in time. Ms Shonky said off you go then... But then Little Shonky decided she wanted to join me. So we slowly wandered up the hill, all the while the light fading. Little shonky found the cache on her own in the twighlight.
Hurridly signed and left a TB.
Meanwhile Ms Shonky back in the car was getting worried as the darkness increased. She should be used to this by now.
Thanks Alex&Jock, great spot for a cache.

12-Nov-11

13-Oct-11
Found on our Eyre Escape trip with Skllracing. We set up camp at Mambray Creek and decided to go for a drive and grab some caches in the area. We parked at the base of the hill and decided to walk up from there. The Skullracing mountain goat team (dad & the queen) led the way and the cache was found at the top.

Thanks for getting the heart pumping and which hopefully burnt off some of the chocolate we've been overindulging.

#2107 Found on our Eyre Escape tour with DazzPete. We were camping at Mount Remarkable for 3 nights and our aim was to spend one day driving around the area and another day hiking, today was our driving day. The hike up the hill got our hearts working (burning off some of the chocolate indulgence which has been the theme of the holiday Wink). The large container was soon located in a likely spot. Our thanks to Alex & Jack for the cache & the workout Big Grin

Took: Chloe Pathtag
Left: Skullracing Pathtag

Up at Mambray Creek for a Scout Camp. While the kids were out hiking, I did some caching.

Found in the most likely spot. TFTC. Big Grin

17-Jun-11
Our first find for the day. We parked at the bottom of the hill then thought we would skirt the growth around the back. That turned out to be not the best as that slope was quite steep. We ended up going through the trees which was much easier.
We were surprised at how many people had done the gator cache but not this one as it was less strenuous to reach this one Smile.

very tired from hysen trail but nice spot!
took siamese twins and left pathtracker(coin) from mt compass.

12-Jun-10
Found after our nice walk in the gorge. However it was a poor choice to park on the road and walk up the hill! Very thick scrub, but worth the climb for the fantastic view! Left a squishy frog and wooden cat and took a turkey for the dashboard of the geo-car.

26-Apr-10

Parked up and made my way to the top. Big Euro was resting up here and let in with no worries.
Big container, signed away with no swap.

Was better going up than coming down.....I think??? We noticed that our neighbour, Sneaky Seeker was the finder before us - not logged yet because they are still on holidays. After reading what they wrote, may we remind them that we are both older than them and WE weren't complaining! (Well, not much!) Hee Hee. Left a yoyo and a klem bear and took a koala. Views were stunning as they all are around this area. Thanks Alex & Jock.

04-Oct-08
Out caching with Parrothead, he slowed down just long enough for me to leap out, roar up the hill, find the cache, sign the log, crash back down the hill again, and meet him after he found a turn-around point and came back to pick me up … puff….puff….puff….puff [xx(].

02-Oct-08
Just after we had finished signing the log book Ginger Ninja says ever so quietly "Dont move! There is a snake behind you!!!" I turn around, of course, to see it slither around me and head towards Ginger - who by this time had jumped up on a big log! The snake then decided to follow him up the log! That was it Ginger took off baqck down the hill at lightening speed! I have never seen him run so fast in his life!!!!

So please be aware of snakes, wear good walking shoes, long pants and be careful during the warm weather!!

Great location though Smile

A nice walk up, till it started pouring, again!
Surprised that not more cachers find this...
It's only 100m from carpark.

Well it is a damn big hill. All you have to do is climb baby climb. And boy, it was one of the big old fashioned Alex style caches. Thanks. Almost got lost on the way back down, but luckily I saw the road Big Grin.
Clear skies, TeamAstro,

Nice view of the surrounding area
Great place!!

12-Dec-05
An easy climb before entering the park.
I left it a bit late in the day but I had been out around Saturn earlier in the day.
I got into the park about 4.30 but the sun goes down late at this time of year.
Great views.
Took TB Scuba with me but it came away with me.

19-Oct-05
Wet day so it was a bit of a slip and slide up and back to this one. Poor dead bunny near the cache. We didn't stay long as the weather wasn't letting up. Lovely views and would be a lot better on a sunny day.

TNLN
Thanks

28-Aug-05
Big Grin Good climb, great view, feeling better after unsuccessful spot finding. Took Riggers Gloves (thanks Hoggwash, they'll come in handy) and water pistol. Left screwdriver set and tube patch kit.

07-Aug-05
After testing the small car up the hills pulled over enjoyed the views then proceeded up through the spindly forest to find the well camouflaged cache.
Took CD case and left the Harry Potter Serviettes

18-Jun-05
Nice little walk up the hill in light drizzle. Surprisingly large container suitable for large swaps if that sort of thing takes your interest. TNLNSL Cheers.
PS May pay to take your own pen, or deposit a new one if you have a spare on hand. There's one there, but it was quite dodgy.

26-Apr-05
It took us awhile to find the road that was closest (rather obvious really!). We scrambled up the hill, our 3yr old needing to be carried most of it due to the tree density.
Took brown dinosaur, left combination lock.
Thanks

20-Apr-05
Another quality cache on the this trail. Thanks Alex, I would have driven straight past here otherwise (as I have done many times before!)
Took a gnome and left a water pistol. Cheers.

19-Dec-04
Great view where we parked, but on the trek to the cache couldn’t see much because of all the trees! Enjoyed the climb and sliding down bank to the road on return.
Took frog and coriander seeds; left big and little dinosaur as company for the one already there.
Thanks Alex & Jock.

14-Jul-04
A great climb to remind you how unfit you really are ! The grouping on the small trees made it rather difficult in spots! Wonder how langy went ?? TNLN, enjoyed the view though. Thanks Alex.

The team vote was to take the easy way in. After finding the cache we split up to make our way back to the car. Those with the courage took the shorter trip through some very thick scrub.

Another clever cache from Alex. Thanks for the walks and the impressive views. Now about the rest of the trail!!

14-Jun-04
Found by Mary & David at 1130. We continued on down the road after collecting one of our Event drive-bys to this area, which we hadn't seen before. Views were breathtaking. A lovely walk to the cache, through extensive patches of flame heath coming into flower - the emus will love that. Took brass tray, left camera bag. Our thanks to Alex and Jock.

14-Jun-04
Another cache grabbed while on the Winter Caching Event.
Found at 1400hrs.

Easy walk in but the view was great.

Thanks Alex.

Took camera bag, left Playstation memory card.

13-Jun-04
Found at 13:40, whilst being "cache cops" during the Remarkable Winter Weekend event.

We'd bumped into Liz and Bruce whilst they were looking for a nearby event cache. I'm glad Bruce owned up to leaving his GPS inside the cache.
Took a model plane, which Chris built straight away, but which did not survive the journey home. Left a waiter's friend.

13-Jun-04
Found during the Remarkable Winter caching event. We did this one as a driveby, got to about 120 metres of cache while Lambchops walked 60 metres to the event cache. Took String Line and Left Golf ball
Thanks Alex and Jock, this was my last steep climb for the day.

13-Jun-04
We managed to get to this one while on the geocaching event. Great area and we enjoyed yet another walk up the hill. Did this one with the Geocops (Unicycle) and they almost managed a really interesting swap when Bruce left his GPS in the cache container. Eventually settled on leaving a blue tennis ball and taking a waiters friend. Thanks Alex

13-Jun-04
After getting to GZ from the HARD side finally located GZ. The GPS led me straight there. Took Chalk Left Smile Hat.

Thanks Alex & Jock.

13-Jun-04
Found by Team GeoCoopers.
The first of our four virgin caches of the ones placed during the Remarkable Winter Caching Event. (five counting GCJQ35 Wheatfield Problem)
Not wrong about the hill part in the caches title. A swift walk up to GZ got our blood pumping ready for cache event that was about to start. Thanks Alex for the pre event warm up.

13-Jun-04
Nearby to one of the competition caches for the weekend, so we hit this as well. Unfortunately couldn't make it a drive by unlike the supposed walk in competition one just down the road [B)] No swaps, thanks Alex & Jock
