Since we were passing by this feature, it seemed logical to go for a walk up the hill before continuing on .
Searched around the area and could see the likely place where the cache had been, but it appears this one has been removed as well .
Thanks anyway Posspet.

This week a small group of us headed up from Adelaide to the northern Flinders Ranges to do some exploring and find a few caches. Although a couple of us had spent some time in the area before, it was new country to most of the group.
The main aim was to find the caches in and around Arkaroola and the Vulkathunna-Gammon Ranges National Park. These were mostly Traditionals, but also included a Multi and an Earthcache. There were also three older Traditional caches that had been archived a couple of years ago but were still in place.
We had some fun navigating around the various roads and 4WD tracks and walking and scrambling up and down the hills and creek lines. It certainly is a very spectacular and rugged part of the state.
The weather was pretty good with a few beautiful clear and sunny days although a couple were also very windy. The nights were mostly cold though, with temperatures around zero degrees on a couple of nights.
This cache was found on Day 3 of the trip. I have driven past here many times since it was published but it was never a good time to stop - until today. It was one of three caches in the area that had been archived some time ago, but there was no indication that it was missing or had been removed, so we thought it would be worth a look.
After a short wander up the hill the cache was quickly found. The container and contents were in good condition.
Thanks Posspet Boys for the cache.

Found during a caching trip to Arkaroola and the Vulkathunna-Gammon Ranges National Park in the northern Flinders Ranges with brisal5, e.gregory1, Freddo, Davidwazza, Jesswrigley and Team Waldron. Really enjoyed the spectacular landscapes, the 4WD tracks, and the walking and rock-climbing in the quest for some challenging caches in a remote region of the State. Noted that this cache had been archived but was still in place. Thanks for the cache Posspet Boys!
I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again.
Seven cachers set off in Four 4WD vehicles using satellites to search for caches in and around Arkaroola and the Gammon Ranges. [^] The Six day Arkaroola Odyssey had begun.
DAY 3: More Pinnacles
Another cache that came up on the GPS that may or may not be there. It was. we signed the logbook.
Great views to be had from GZ.
***Thanks posspet for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

10 years later I'm back and sunset time again. Lou is back too joining us on the 60gig Grindell Hut week. Found GX it in good condition. Awesome scenery. Hope to come back much sooner than the last visit. Found and logged the Lochness premium on another day while creek walking.
Alex and I made a couple of friends while staying at Arkaroola and were invited to participate in a 4-car driving trip to Grindell's Hut. It was great fun and our Subaru Forester managed admirable (though we deliberately took all the heavy stuff out of the car, no sense asking for trouble!). None of the others had heard about caching, so we showed them and they signed the log with us. There may be some converts among them The views at GZ were spectacular and your container is in cood condition. Alex dropped off a tb while we were there. TFTC
After a bit of a scramble the cache was quickly found! A fantastic spot for a cache hide and in such beautiful country. Thanks for bringing us here!
Found together with Dismart while tripping around from our nerby camp site. Great location for a cache indeed!
I was with camping pal Are We There Yet! and a few others from our 4WD Club for a week at Balcanoona helping out the Rangers with some much needed repairs. This was a pleasant side trip. I had seen this years ago on the map and was a bit put off by the rating but it's pretty reasonable if taken with care. If I can make it pretty much anyone can! Cache is in good condition. I'm looking for quality caches, not after quantity. Thanks for the cache Posspet Boys.
Found on a spectacular drive with How Do They Know? and a few young prospective cachers. Great views! Nice exercise. Thanks Posspet Boys.
Great day out with successful find. All contents in tact and dry.
Swapped toy car with a glow stick.
Thankfully, no flies.

Nice drive and views. Thought this location was gills lookout. It isnt. Contents are dry and container in good shape.
Headed the wrong way at first, would have been better if we went right instead of left.
Would have saved a few kms. But did not really matter,we seen plenty of sturt pea. It was a great drive, loved the scenery.

Drove up as far as I could safely and then enjoyed the climb under a near full moon.
Crazy Golden Orb spiders!
Scratched about at the top and found the cache after nearly giving up in the dark.
Signed away with no swap.
Great 4x4 track and the views are very sweet.
TFTC.
I did this track in 2WD
Nice country side and worth the drive out here
Thanks posspet

OMG - some fun 4WDing down the ONE WAY track. The hill with the lookout was just brilliant.and the lumpy sandy bits just got you airborne a few times. Some seriously fantastic views and photo opportunities.
Oh and the boys nearly nuded up for a smiley, but chickened out!
Cheers and thanks for the cache.

The less I say about the way we got this, the better, I think , but suffice to say we thoroughly enjoyed the journey it took us on and the views from GZ. I took a small deck chair and put in a ‘gold coin’ and an enamel lapel badge from the Avalon airshow. Thanks Posspets, great cache
My absolute favourite cache for the weekend.
That hill by the lookout was a treat going down.
We loved the track and would like to come back for another visit.
Thank you so much for this one.

Found while attending the 'We Didn't Start the Fire' event in the Gammon Ranges over the long weekend. An extremely rugged drive in that was only completed thanks to Mr O being a passenger in the 'Skipmobile'. With perfect, clear weather the climb was made to GZ by a number of us and the cache found quickly. An interesting gecko was also discovered close to the cache (pictures to follow when time permits). TFTC.
A fairly quick find in the company of half the We Didn't Start the Fire group.
Not wanting to do the full circuit we kind of took a bit of a shortcut but it all turned out well in the end.

Twentieth for the extra long weekend trip to the Gammon Ranges.
Allison and Ella joined the rest of the group while I turned the car around and waited.

Found this one on the way from Arkaroola to Leigh Creek. Surprised at how dry the Gammons are at the moment. It is a shame to see so many dead trees. Road in reasonable but definately just 4wd only. Easy find after a short climb. Thought we would exit the park on the western end only to find the road closed after Idninha ruins. Had to back track all the way.

Did this 4 wheel drive track years ago, but was great to do it again cause of the views. Thanks very much for this cache, it has to be one of the best that I have found so far, amazing views! TNLN TFTC!

Did the loop drive, took a walk at Mainwater well, noted the tensile fence at the former Yankaninna exit. David, Lou, Jem, Jarrah and Inala explored the Razor at sunset returning to Grindells in the dark. Rubber butterfly out, shuttlecock in.
Doing the loop before camping at Lochness Well, great day for a drive and had the cache in hand quickly.TNLN TKS
After staying overnight at Lock Ness Well we did the 35km one-way 4WD loop this morning and had a bracing walk to GZ to collect this cache.
Spectacular views again on a perfect Gammons day [^] and the razor was a great spot to take them in from.
Swapped a tape measure and mobile phone charm for the laser pointer and left a compass rose geocoin (copy) as well.
Cheers Posspet, a great experience.

Carrying out a Maintenance Visit to the cache. all is in order and the container has now been changed to a more durable ammo box. This should last better than the original plastic box placed 2 years ago.
Thanks to all the cachers who have visited in the last 2 years. Hope that you have enjoyed going here as much as we have.
Remember that the road from Gleeson Well to Loch Ness Well is only 1 way in the southerly direction. Around trip from the main road can take up to 3 hours in and out. Leave the trailer at the gates before the gorge.

Thanks Posspet for a fantastic cache. This would have to be the best cache on our trip around the Flinders. top views. Aptly named cache. TNLNSL
Found it yeah, great drive saw lots of euros on our way. Great spot for lunch. Cache in good condition kids had fun here.
Took finger puppet and left 2 pegs, bulldog clips, butterfly rubber and 5c. SL
Great drive and cache even though it took two tries.

Unfortunately our maps didn't indicate that the track was oneway, [got within 3km time didn't permit us to correct our error due to failing light. Decided we would come back if time permitted another day.]
We had come in the back way and dropped of the trailer at the Main Water Tank CAmping spot. We had a bit of time to continue the drive so we came up to this view. We are also planning the Ridge to far cache and this was a good spot to look at the country we have to cross to get there. Alas that one will have to wait for another day.
We took nothing except photos and left nothing.
Thanks again for a great spot. We will be returning

Found while cruising around up here. Very hot north wind had prevented any sleep at Grindells Hut the night beofre and we were starting to get a bit sick of the flies. FOund quickly though, took TB and left.
