It's still there! Found this one by chance this afternoon well hidden behind a newer cache in the same location!
How wonderful is that!
The area was made most uninviting for long time hence the archiving.
How fine that it still exists after all this time )

I suspect this has been muggled and I will send photos to P&S to confirm I had found GZ. Thanks B&S for a completely different view of the lake and for an enjoyable hunt. I will post some photos once I find the cable for my camera (its in another one of the safe places, damn seniors moments). I am not sure how good Lake Road would be after HEAVY rain if you are driving your car in from the south. Most sections would be ok but there were a couple of short stretchs that could be a challenging for a 2WD.

A slight detour brought me to GZ on the way home from work. All in all a great spot and I would camp here but for the feral activities of the locals refered to in previous logs. Might come back though and ride the MTB out to the middle when its completely dry (I trust a discount towing fee applies for bikes. Thanks bubble & squeak.
Glorious day for a drive with the GeoTeens. Quick find while we devoured lunch & enjoyed the views. TFTC

Was unable to find this one - our only DNF of the day. The guy who owns all the dead foxes has been clearing the area, collecting firewood (evidenced by both the sawdust and our own eyes seeing him collect wood off the side of the road and later go up his drive). There was an imprint in the ground that may have been a log, and certainly after many rounds, unders and through the Acacia Dealbata we were unable to find any logs or sistema containers. Only a lot of bones, a few bags of animal skin and fur, and a lot of maggotty critters running around them. Sad to say, but not sure that we will try to repeat this one, especially not with the geokids in tow. Thanks anyway for the hunt.
Well the cache is still here! We found it. The kangaroo is a bit gruesome....just hold your nose. The foxes though were quite decorative!
Love the view of the lake....windy day and wind turbine doing there thing. The water in the lake is great to see and soooo much green.
Thanks.

I didnt find it, there was dead kangaroo all around the GZ and i suspect someone doesn't want the cache there. So i reckon you should move it. If you want because you know where it is i guess you could check but overall i think you should move it.

Out doing some maintance on one of my caches and was going past this road to get to the cache. So we turned off and followed this small little road. Over the holes went the magna. Got to gz and noticed about three dead roos near to the cache. Which I found quickly. Got back to the car and noticed on the fence about 6 dead foxes. Mmmmmm whats going on here? TFTC
Found this one on my birthday cache run with csfamily. Had lots of fun driving around for the day. TFTC
Enjoyed the view and drive along this scenic route. Hope the houses around aren't full of Muggles. TFTC
Different drive up this side of lake with 131, not been here much, first time was in mate's brand new mini cooper--1st incarnation. Lots of crimson rosellas about. Is this our last for the day?
Great location with good views. Had a little difficulty finding this one to start with. We arrived at the GZ but it wasn't to be seen but could have been a case of GPS being a little inaccurate. When we finally found it, it wasn't that difficult. Also found a very large interesting tail-less lizard nearby.TFTC TNLN

Lots of rabbits and shingleback lizards on the road heading out to this cache. Had to play dodge em including a brown snake which I successfully able to go right over without touching him with the car. He definitely wasn't happy with that experience as I saw him in the rear view mirror with his head reared in striking posture. Another grab and go to get my 21st cache for the day. TFTC and the views of the wind turbines.
3/45 for the day,
Drove up here and saw llamas/alpacas and even a peacock. Nice quick find at 0600.

It has been a looong time since I've been out this way. The orchestra I used to play in came out here to a conference centre-y thing prior to competitons. Couldn't spot it this time though, so don't know if it's still there.

Found 8:50am. Interesting view of the lake from here. Just missed hitting a kangaroo that hopped out in front of me, already taken out a bird on the way down this morning. Nice spot for a cache. TNLN. Thanks.
Having too good a drive around the area even if the drizzle was constant. So we kept on driving and just enjoyed picking off these caches one by one.
Even though it's a long drive out to this one cache, you just can't leave them alone. LOL So we did this little detour and enjoyed the view of the lake as well.

This was a great drive along a part of the lake [?] that I would not have gone along if it were not for the cache. There was some very nice dwellings along the way that would have fantastic views. The new 'Farm' across the lake is another new addition that I had not seen until last weekends trip up to Goulburn.

I always like doing bubble & squeak caches so we made the effort to detour up here for this one. I think the kids think we're pulling their legs when we tell them that wide, flat area is Lake George. Despite being 10 & 7, I donty think either of them have ever seen water in it! I sometimes wonder myself if we'll ever see it filled again.
A very hot day, so we called it quits after this one.
Thanks bubble & squeak, an interesting little detour

Last of 4 finds during a quick run around the area.
A good run along the road had us at the general area with no problems. Cache was found quickly, log signed and returned. Have seen the lake full many years ago, and maybe one day we will again.

The last time I was down this road was many, many years ago, I was transporting a bunch of workmates to a group training session at the nearby silver wattle in a bus. This trip was a lot more fun as the road is in great shape and I really enjoyed the drive, even fanged the buggy out around a few corners 'Yehaa'. The track down across the lake bed was a bit tempting but I had a deadline to meet in bungendore. I note that there are towers being erected on the other side of the lake, Wind generators?, if so bloody good on them, there should be a lot more of them around.

Thanks, Big Matt & Shell, I've upped the terrain by 1. Funny how terms become increasingly formal when they are codified in computer-based systems - this cache was placed nearly 4 years ago and in those days the definitions were much looser.
First cache for this morning, in a location quite new to us. We've often been close but not down this road. An easy find, and everything nice and wet after the recent rain. TNLN thanks Bubble & Squeak!
Sorry guys I forgot to write in my log. This cache shows a 1 star for terrain. One star typically refers to wheelchair accessable caches. Quite obviously a wheelchair couldn't get in here... Perhaps an extra half a star is required. Keep up the good work.
This one has been on the to do list for a while but for some reason we seem to have missed it each time. We did this one on the way out to Tarago for lunch. A nice easy find.

Found @4:30pm. Just had to go and pick this one up today, as I had a suspicion my caching buddy Secretsquirrel-BJC would be out there in the very near future. In hindsight I was spot on! (All good friendly rivalry).
Found without too much trouble. I never realised that one could get so close to the lake edge around here. Thanks bubble & squeak for the chance to see somewhere new.

Headed out for this one as we were looking for a location with at least some view of water to drop off Bruce (the shark) TB. Alas, I am sure it was there in the distance somewhere but it was a little hard to see on an overcast day. We did however find evidence of ancient uses for this area.

Nice spot. Didn't take the temptation to go for a drive across the lake. Not sure if it was public property.
Is Lake George the only lake which has fences through the middle? There wasn't a drop of water to be seen, and the eroded hills covered in gums could have done with a drink. It's a shock for a Sydney person to see just how bad the drought is for country folk right now.
A few kangaroos jumped away as we approached the cache. Took nothing, left nothing, thank you for the cache.

Whilst staying at the "Bungendore Country Muster" after having done some caching along the way. We waited till it was a little cooler to try and find the hide. My freshly cleaned car lasted 8 hours in it's fresh state !! A bit of a rutted track, but despite GZ seemingly being in the middle of nowhere, there was still a lot of muggle activity around. I had to wait for two muggle-teenagers to walk by, and I could hear a muggle-family having a meal outside their house nearby. A nice easy find where it was meant to be.

Man, did we see (and nearly wipe out) some wildlife on this journey! In no particular order we saw, kangaroos, cows, magpies, crows, galahs, rosellas, wallabies, rabbits, hares, dinosaurs, lobsters, lions and to top it off, a huge wedge tail eagle crashing through the trees!
Road is pretty rough, don't take your BMW down this one but the views at sunset across the 'lake' (haha) were worth it.

Great Views, lounging happy cows, Sheep with birds on their backs and an Echidna as big as a football! All quite tranquil really. The first time I attempted this cache I was coming from the Federal Hwy direction with no maps and promptly lost the plot. Now coming from Bungendore found the track really easily and had the cache in a short, dusty, while. Number 6 for the day. A great Sunday drive that took in Sutton, Gundaroo, Goulburn, Tarago, Bungendore and Queanbeyan with caches all the way. Recommended. Car needs a wash now! Thanks B&S. Another good one!

On the way to this one I told GeoTeen what we were looking for, using the clue to help narrow it down. At last I make it... We found the cache at 3.10pm. We enjoyed drive along to the cache. Barbara found it before me. No swap. Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.
What would this be like with water a spectacular site at the moment just Australia as we know it. Thanx.
Decided to find our second cache while we visited Bungendore. Thought the road in looked interesting on the map - so off we went.
Then came the big decision (for me) - get the car dirty on the gravel road, or wimp out and find some fuel. Opted for the 'give it a wash' option.
Found the spot, parked the car... then got picked up and carried away by the flies and grass hoppers!
After stomping around, sweating and swatting flies constantly for about 15 minutes, the GPS stabilised enough for us to find the spot at last.
Boy, what a collection of little animals this cache had. Liked the red lobster. Logged the find, then realised that we'd left our planned deposit in the car. Too many flies and too hot and bothered to do the double trip up the road to the car, so we ended up taking nothing but a few scratches and leaving nothing but sweat and a few dead flies.
Thanks for the cache bubble and squeek.

Been a while since this was discovered. I tried to drive to this a few months ago - from totally the wrong direction. My map revealed the best route.
Once there, it took me a good 20 minutes before I found it. Those that already have found this cache will probably laugh at this point. Took nothing but pictures. Interesting sap on the silver acacias. I look forward to someone visiting in August and capturing these trees in bloom.

On the way back from Berrima for a day trip. Decided to drop and knab this one. Would have been a little quicker if we could have acessed Lake road from the federal high way.

but I was not game to stop and see how it was. Incase it came and bit me as revenge.

Found by Mary & David at 2030 in the last of the day's light. We loved this different view of the main feature compared to the one from the highway further north. We lived in Canberra in the late 70s/early 80s and can remember water almost lapping the road. Kangaroos and cockatoos added to the special bush feeling. Took tortoise, left a pack of beadz and a karma card. Our thanks to Bubble and Squeak.
Took the whole family out to this one, it is still very dry in the area. It would be very interesting to visit whenever the lake was full again.

Yahoo! After all the caches I have managed since being in the ACT, I finally managed a FTF . Got out and about early this morning fully expecting ThomasS to beat me to the punch. I know this neck of the woods quite well so was sure I wouldn't have to hunt around. Quite staggered to find I was first to log (How did I know the log book would be written in green pen?!) A couple of kms out of Bungendore I passed a fellow witha beard on a bike - mtbikeroz I guessed but as I went passed I noticed it was a road bike. Having read his log entry, it obviously was the Coooeee Cyclist! Didn't see ThomasS in either direction.

Well we were the fifth there, all today. Me and bubble 'n' squeak's mother cum mother-in-law. The first cache for both of us and a goodie! Freezing cold and raining (HOORAY!).
