My 5th and thankfully last DNF for the day.
Hadn't realised this was archived, as I'd attempted it before, but been muggled out.
No muggles today, but no cache either.

archived until i get around to replacing it. if someone else wishes to place a cache here go for it!
We checked all the possible places and like others before us could not locate the cache. Looks like a replacement is in order.
No luck here either!!!! Despite muggles I had a good look around. GPS was not co-operating with a bit of rain around.
Thanks anyway

Obviuosly back in business as I found it today. jump the fence no way for this land lover. Thanks FTF in new log.
We looked and looked as there were not many muggles about due to the weather. Nil luck.

DNF with Swampy on our Hobart to Adelaide cache trip.
Too many mauggles around at GZ to sucessfully complete this cache.
Too many mauggles around at GZ to sucessfully complete this cache.
Dropped in on the way home with Feathertop. We had no success finding the cache, and possibly found where it was.
I think this might need checking.
Thanks, Robmc.

Found during the quiet period, signed and replaced after waiting out some arriving muggles. We walked the loop around the blue lake, been to Mount Gambier many times but this was the first time we took the time to really appreciate it's sights rather than just pass through on the way to somewhere else.
No joy today . Sporadic muggles but the all-over-the-place satloc didn't help. Next time.
Lovely view from the platform - good to see Mt Gambier by daylight. Reminded me a little of Crater Lake in Oregon. Cheers Gav [1369]
Really scenic spot - thanks for bringing us here. Glad we didn't do this the night before - it would have been a waste. TNLN, Thanks.
What a stunning place! I have never seen a lake that shade of blue before. Early morning so no problem with muggles. Many thanks
Found at 0955, relatively muggle free as it was very cold and windy. Great views. TFTC.
8:51pm
It was a chilly wind blowing tonight, quite strong and rather cool. Nobody around to bother us as we looked here and there.
Not too hard to find really. Signed the log and went home to bed, well, to camp and bed. I think this was our final cache in Mt Gambier, so long and thanks for all the caches.
Cheers

well hidden . it took me awhile to find because i thought i had already looked there. TFTC
a cool mechanism keeping the cache in the hiding spot. This cache was hidden so well that I had to visit the gz twice.TFTC
Our last visit here ended in a DNF with dodgy sat loc putting us all over the place despite our 'correct' assumption of cache location.
Another very clever micro hide in Mt Gambier.
TFTC but what's with all the micros down here?? Are you guys undercompensating for something?

Don't know why I didn't get this one at CCC ? Must have been too busy... found on a beautiful spring day SL TFTC
After 10minutes of looking in all the obvious spots, thoughts of jumping that fence began to surface [:o]
Sanity prevailed and I soon found the cache hiding where I had already looked several times
Obviously not at quite the right angle though

Not many muggles about which made this one fairly easy. I found it pretty easily but forgot a pen. Ran back to the warm car and signed then returned. Has been a few years since I was last here and still well worth visiting.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Been here a couple of times now whilst travelling - now a cache to go with the photos! Not many muggles about today - a bit cold and windy. Nice hide . .Thanks

Found this one after the conclusion of the CCC event weekend. It was a cool winter’s day so muggles were fairly scarce. The cache was quickly retrieved, signed and replaced and a photo taken before retreating to the warmth of the car.
Thanks for the Cache.
Thanks for the Cache.
Found this one with Wackys on our way home from the event. Cached with some new friends so am also able to get a tick for the mountain high river deep game. Thanks guys
Had to find this one before leaving the Mount as we were camping so close to it - it was a pleasure to find the cache with SA Mystery Inc whom we had never cached with before - hope to do it again sometime soon - TFTC
Found at 11:45 on the way to nearby CCC game caches. SL TFTC Cheers 'scargoes (of Trailblazers CCC Team)
Tried doing this one during the event, but too many muggles were about. Came back as it was getting dark and had the place to ourselves. Made it much easier to retrieve the container!
Found at about 7am before any muggles had ventured out. A quick walk from where we were camping.
7th find of the 'hiding day' of the CCC Event.
Nice tricky hide, nice view.
TNLNSL
Thanks

Tried this one in January when we were last down here. A constant flow of muggles frustrated any detailed search.
Returning during winter paid dividends and we found it almost immediately. It was right where we expected it to be but were previously unable to get the right ‘angle’ on it. Signed the log and headed off to sign into the event. Cheers.

18 of 18 for our trip down SE for the CCC event. Almost a drive by, but couldn't get the car down the walkway! Very cold and spooky at 1:30 and very cold. Found quickly. TNLN TFTC
Found @13:52
We arrived at an ideal time, all the muggles left just as we arrived so we had the place all to ourselves.

dogtired & showdog heading in one direction with GPS, & maddog said, "I'm thinking like a cacher" & found it, yeah.
Nice hide, thanks.
Nice hide, thanks.
Found 1:30am. last of 21 FFTD. Out with chizbeki for a caching frenzy evening on our first night in town. Mrs C tried to drive the geomobile as close to GZ as possible, leaving Mr C and E to walk the last several meters on the wooden bridge of the lookout. Very chilly this time of night, one muggle passed by as we searched (I think he was a little tipsy to be caring about anything else ). Again I can't believe that I couldn't find this one last year. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Found by Wombat Warriors 2 just on dusk, our 100th cache!!! Took a little while and some quite contemplation, and had to wait till no one was around once spotted. Tried a few different camera angles here. TNLNSL. Thanks UdderChaos. A lovely spot for our 100th.
First of 3 caches for the day. Come here early morning after spotting the cache the previous day, but it was muggle heaven!!
Arrived early before work with Geowife and had cache in hand very quickly. Signed the log and was replacing it as some tourists rocked up with a tripod and camera! thank god i got here when i did, looked like they were settling in!
Cheers, Biggo

Found at 6.15pm Number 7 of 9 FTD Took a little while to locate the hide then a bit longer for everyone to leave. The rain helped us out. Great view! the lake was very blue today. It's been a while since I've seen it at this time of year. TFTC
Plenty of muggles around. Had to wait our turn. Found it after a bit of a search. Great views of the lake.TFTH SL
This was the second attempt at the one and we still needed help, after a hint from Beaker Bunch and a down pour of rain we were able to log the cache.
Left a new sheet of paper for a logging,
Thanks to Udder Chaos for the veiw and the cache,

First of twenty-four caches on my first day in Mt Gambier (urban day one). Thankfully, there were no muggles about at this time of the morning, so I was able to search unhindered. The coordinates were spot on, so I had a quick find at 0905. It's a micro, so I made no exchange. One of the caches I did this morning needs a new log sheet; I used up the absolute last space on the back of the sheet. I'm pretty sure it was this one, but I didn't make a note of it in my audio log. [B)] Thanks to UdderChaos for the cache. Cheers, dak.
Found late afternoon after waiting for two girls to finish a
d & m over the cache. Geokids quick small hands retrieved the cache easily.TFTC

Found on a warm summers day, plenty of muggles around but managed to find with the help of lead from Lean 'n Lace
Thanks
Thanks
Went to find this mid morning and risk all the muggles. The location was soon spotted but the retrieve was delayed while many muggles congregated. Saw an opening and made the grab.
Signed log then came the next problem......replacement.
Again a short wait and it was all returned as found.
PS the log will need replacement ASAP as it has room for one more log.
Thanks for the cache.
Cheers,

Late in the day, thought it might be a bit quieter around this spot. Had to wait for a group of muggles to leave then had cache in hand in 3 minutes.
Thanks Udderchaos
Thanks Udderchaos
We finally found it on our third attempt, every other time it was swamped with muggles. Grabbed it while I was 'tieing my shoe'. TFTC
359. Had to come here 3 times before we could have the place to ourselves. Surprised by the ease of the find after trying some others around here. Great time of the year and got to see the lake in overcast conditions for the first time - it may make it look even more spectacular. TFTC I could find.

muggles muggles every where but time paid off good location to use the camera (RDT)
found by B*DS in a very big rush because it was getting dark and a car load of muggles rocked up TFTC
cache appears to be in good condition.

Nothing on the first visit. Alice came up with the goods next morning. Easy she said.
Found at 10.05am GAFF2. We were impressed with this seemingly simple hide. We spent ages looking and avoiding muggles. We were just about to give up when we suddenly spotted the cache in a spot that we looked at three or four times!. Thanks UdderChaos.
Nicely done. That view is lovely. Isn't Mt Gamabier lucky to have such great assets.
Well hidden, no muggles were around due to the fact it was late at night, Took ua a while but in the end we had a second look and presto!

1st DNF FFTD, never a good omen when you can't find the first cache for the day! In between muggles, we must have searched high and low for a good hour! At which point thought seriously about jumping the fence. Will have to return when the weather is warmer to have a whole weekend of caching.
PS. Did I mention that we HATE micro's.

Abowie and I did this on the way home. We had been diving at many of the sites with some caching along the way. While filling in the log book we drooled over the idea of divng in the puddle next door. TNLN Thanks.
Found at 17:15. Not much trouble with the muggles, and the hide was pretty obvious (Marty actually found it).
Found it together with tdussa on our trip to Australia. See Toby's log for details.

Great place, great hide!
At lunchtime, it proved to be not too difficult to grab the cache. Had to wait only fifteen minutes or so until there were no muggles around.
No trade.
Cheers,
Toby.

Well the Geogirls were with us today and were on fire with one of them finding this cache in under 60 seconds. Dodging muggles was also a fun challenge. Took the little pink pig and replaced with 2 marbles. TFTC
This must be muggle central, as a very good spot picked for random muggle visits. Got asked the previous time we were at GZ what we were looking for, therefore need to brush up the art of being inconspicuous (especially with GPS in hand). Also as player 1 hinted, this was a team effort with the help of Geogirls - without them we would still be looking!!!

What a great hide. Nice spot with a very blue lake. Old muggle parked in car showed no interest in what we were about. He didn't move the whole time we were there -was he even alive?
Found it the second time around after some friendly advice....Thanks.
Nice views, the water was its vivid blue. Nice hide.
Thanks for the cache, A&L

Tried this one first n the afternoon. We were blown away by the clour of the lake but could not retrieve the cache as far too many muggles. I think everyone in town uses this place to exercise. Came back later in the evening and managed to dodge the muggles.
Shame the sun wasn’t out to play, pics look OK but they could’ve been better. Chilly wind was uncomfortable but it didn’t deter me from finding this one…….eventually. TFTH
Found with Stacey on our 3rd attempt, there were far too many muggles to get it on the previous visits. Even at 8.40pm we had to wait for a load of muggles to leave. Retrieved the cache and hopped back in the car just as more muggles and the rain arrived. Of course, these muggles just had to read EVERYTHING and took their time. Managed to replace the cache after they left and even more came. Don't muggles ever sleep?!
TB Freddo visited but didn't like the Blue Lake, it was the wrong colour he said.
Thanks for all the great caches down south that we have visited these last few days Andrew & Leesa. Geocaching is a great trip planner.
