After dropping the other half at a birthday party, I set out to find a few caches. Sometimes these puzzles work for me straight away and sometimes they take a bit more time .. After a short walk down the track, it wasn't long before my caching eyes were fixed on the object sought. Signed log and replaced securely as found... TFTC
I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Tuesdays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and Saint John's. Wednesday we ended up caching in the Waitakeries and finished up in Glen Eden, New Lynn and Waterview. Thursday we geocached around Blockhouse Bay, Green Bay and Titirangi. Today we decided to finish off a few out here before Yvettetb had to leave. I then cached around the Panmure Basin and the new subdivision Stonefields.I out did myself this week. I walked 27,000 steps on Tuesday, 22,406 on Wednesday, 25,500 on Thursday, 15,000 on Friday and 23,800 on Saturday. A big geocaching/walking week. I solved this one last night. I'd been looking at it for ages but I couldn't see the hidden information with my naked eye, no matter what I tried. My son works for Atlassian and I'd downloaded an app made by them for this ages ago. Yesterday it got its first test and it worked brilliantly. I was keen to return to this area because we'd missed a puzzle find yesterday and this cool milti finalised my determination. A quick wander down the path and a bit of searching finally produced the goods I was after. Thanks for the neat multi
Nice walk to GZ and we found which must be the loveliest tree and after searching a little soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for this easy puzzle and TFGC.Our New Year caching trip in 2024 was in and around Auckland with Lis's Crew. Today I was finishing the trip at lunchtime so we popped out this morning to grab a few puzzles we had solved in the Titirangi, Green Bay, Lynfield area before I headed back home.
Up with ABCDF4 and eyespyben to gather different types for this months challenge. That completed we were heading back to the motorway by grabbing a few caches along the way/
Made our way to GZ where we checked a few places before the cache was spotted. Thank you for the placement.

Back up this way again with KGD and EyespyBen to do our challenge for the month

We remember the Magic Eye books being very popular back in the 80s and 90s and at the time Mr Coblet got quite good at seeing the hidden images, so he wondered if he could still remember how.
At first the image didn’t seem to want to reveal its secrets but suddenly it all came into focus and give us a good set of coordinates.
We headed off to GZ and saw that the area is closed after the recent storms but it seemed to have been unofficially reopened by locals who had trampled the barrier so we headed in via their path of destruction.
Once at GZ the hint had us a bit confused and doesn’t seem to be quite right anymore but after a short search in likely spots we soon located the cache.
This is a great cache and something a bit different so it’s nice to see it has lasted all these years.
A definite favourite point for the fun and for showing us that our magic eyes are still working.
TFTC.

Another day in the land of the long white cloud. TeamARF, JACSTeam and I headed back toward Auckland gathering caches as we drove along. A few odd ones today but happy overall with the day. I had booked us a place rather remote so a tad more driving than we had anticipated plus a road closure altered our plans the next morning. Still heaps of fun and some some fab caches. Thanks to all the COs
Interesting way to hide the coordinates and a lot more natural. This multi helps fill a gap in 2005. Thanks to the CO et all for keeping the oldie active.
Day 4: We ( TeamARF, Gcoven and myself) have travelled over from Brisbane, Australia to have a visit since we were not able to make it to the Mega. We have spent some considerable time solving puzzles and making plans in preparation.
Today the plan is to work on collecting things of our list. We have a gigantic list of old, interesting, highly favourited, challenges and a few Geo-arts to try and collect over the next 10 days. There is a good chance we got lazy with our logging and do some joint variation of our initials - TGJ, GJT or JGT.
Please excuse the generic log, just have extremely little data to try and survive on it for the 10 days. However, you can be assured that if we have found your cache it was special to us for some reason or in a special location - so thank you for contributing to our holiday.
I will edit logs when back in Brisbane to add more details to those that need more details and of course I will be adding favourite points as I go along.

I like these puzzles and made short work of this one. Parked nearby and technically at the moment this path is closed but no issues as far as getting to GZ and before long had the cache in hand. TFTC!
I'm on a week's annual leave, choosing to spend time traveling north to visit and reconnect with a few friends up here, and naturally that also gives me an opportunity to do some caching up this way again. Today is day 2, which involves driving from Botany to Kaiwaka, via a couple of targeted caches in West Auckland.
This was one of those that I'd targeted, simply because It's been quite a few years since I solved it. I have no issues seeing these, and can normally resolve an image in just a few seconds.
However, because it's been so long since I did the puzzle, I have no idea why I had solved co-ords that were over 100m away from where I eventually found the cache after using my PAF option. Just weird! Sitting here logging this on my laptop, I can see the image to confirm the co-ords I was given. And having read back through previous logs I can see that there used to be more stages to this cache, which I think now explains the mystery
I'd probably take issue as to what NZ's loveliest tree is, and the one I found the cache behind wouldn't even be close, but a find is a find so I was just happy to sign the log and be on my way again. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

A nice quick solve and find. Take care the path is a wee bit slippery in places. Last for the day. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are in Auckland Auckland for a break and we are exploring the region while we are based here. Today we spent our time around the central area, polishing off a few Ad Labs.Rain threatened all day but thankfully came to nothing. Had another great day out.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Nice puzzle to solve, didn’t go too cross-eyed Enjoyed reading the hint but the geotrail helped more. Slippery path even in my boots. Another for my NZ Jasmer, thanks M@ (like the username!)
Joint find with barefootguru on our Auckland/Hauraki/Coromandel adventure. TFTC!
Several years ago we had worked through this one when it was a multi stage multi. We got as far as hunting for the final cache, but failed to find it. We were looking for a multi cache to do today and saw that Magic Eye was now a single stage solve and find. One of us quickly had the co-ordinates sorted. The other now struggles with these images after some major eye surgery. Off we went and eventually we arrived at GZ. The cache itself took a little longer than it should have to locate. We are very happy to finally have this cache on our found list. Thanks.
#10,783. I remember looking at this one soon after I started geocaching but with loss of central vision in one eye these things simply don't work for me. Several years later I had another look at the multi and this time I had discovered some online tools to help those of us with impaired vision. So had gathered the numbers needed. But for some strange reason I sat on that information for quite some time and today I needed to make up for lost time and come and grab it. Wandered down the path to GZ. The hint was not overly helpful but I looked around the coordinates and found the container within a couple of minutes. Signed the logbook and replaced where found. Thanks M@ for hiding it here.
Once again, I find myself on a geocache inspired impromptu trip to another part of the country. Today I'm in Auckland (from Wellington) for the day. I came with one specific purpose, and once that was completed, I had several other specific caches I wanted to collect during my time here, and this was one of them.
I cant do these. never have. I stare at them and stare at them and I just never see the sailboat. Fortunately, there are options for those of us that are ocularly impaired and I used one of those options to get me here where the cache was found safe and dry.

I only recently (last night) looked at this Multi after seeing it come up on a friend's list of finds. Nice and easy with the right tools and headed to GZ after parking nearby. There was a fallen one across the path but no worries with the find, and started using the new RITR log as the paper one looked real delicate. T F T C M@/tofska
Following a shockingly poor weekend for weather I never got any caching done, nor any opportunities to get out, aside for some grocery replenishment. mrs c was due to work on Labour Day Monday so I vowed to head out whatever the weather had to throw at me, and I managed to stay completely dry and the rain only arrived as I was driving back home again, which was nice. I managed a nice round figure of 20 finds, more than half by tuolei, thanks Grant, and explored yet more previously unseen Auckland sites and sights. Many thanks to all COs (Not lettuces)
In line with the NZ Geocache Reviewers guidance on what Covid Level 3, Part 1 looks like, geocaching IS permitted, but there are not to be any events or any new listings. It seems the NZ Covid website has failed to maintain pace with Lockdown level amendments and changes and is still lumping Geocaching in with Orienteering and other gathering type activities. 3rd stop along my walk was for this nice old cache. I guess it's not really a multi any more, but the puzzle part gave me some issues as no matter which way I looked at it I couldn't see anything hidden in the image. Luckily there are some great tools online that can make up for that and helped me out. After waiting for a runner to go past, I ducked in and found the cache in the first place I looked. A nice spot for it, and cool to see the logs dating back to 2012--although the paper was very wet, so I signed it and added some dry RITR paper just in case the first log gets too damp to write on. TFTC!
I found this cache some time ago but I`m logging it today for my own record.

P.S. Solved thanks to a modern technology!

Started looking for this a few years back. Tried again today with more success. Tftc
I’ve been wanting to come get this one for awhile now, finally was in the area today and came to pick it up.
Really nice trails here, super place to walk.
Thanks for the cache!

So pleased that this is now a puzzle rather than a multi...as it seemed to have had problems in the past.
It has been on my list for years....so after I had a little help with the solve...was soon able to come and find the cache!
Luckily was with nette1234 who went straight to it!
Very cool...so giving it a favourite point!
Must be one of the oldest ones in Auckland too...2005!
Thankyou!

Log was a little damp, however I've refolded the bag so hopefully that doesn't happen again... all OK! Targeted this while I was up as it ticks off another Jasmer month. TFTC!
The multi waypoints have proven too hard to maintain with continuing unavailability of web service providers and deteriorating info sheets out in the wild. So I've done away with the intermediary waypoints and Pebbles image is direct to the final cache. I've also reduced the difficulty rating (just a tad) as a result.
The cache is still in place but is now smaller.
Cheers, M@

Our final dot day apart from the leap years day and we decided to head this way to grab a couple of caches that have been on the list for a while. I began this one over 2 years ago with Agazo but we unfortunately didn't get past the first stage as neither of us are good at these things and the link would not work on his phone so we took the info and carried on. Once home I managed to get it to work and figured out stage 2 but it sat like that for about 18 months.
I called by again about 6 months ago and found stage 2 - again tried to get the link to work but this time it seems like it is no longer working so took photos and for some reason managed to e-mail it to my father who came back several days later with most of the answer. When I said to Mrs B this morning that I would like finally finish this one off she had a look at the photo and after a while came up with exactly the same answer as dad - minus one number both of the couldn't see.
We walked to one possible GZ location and had a good search around, it seemed to be a very good spot with several large trees and plenty of ground cover but after spending a little while searching (including Tinytree up on my shoulders to look at a higher spot) we could not find the cache. Tried a PAF option without any response so decided to go and look at another place that seemed less like a short distance away and sure enough it was sitting there in the first spot we looked in.
Glad to finally have this off the list, TFTC.

It was a struggle to get the info for the final for this cache as none of the links work and the pics inside the cache containers at the wps have seen better days. I found the cache at the big tree's pedestal no problem but that's where I ground to a halt so reached out for help. With the help of a previous finder who passed on the required information I returned and managed to find the final. Not sure that it is the loveliest tree anymore as it appears quite dead!
I was out and about today, had some time to drive around and get some caches including this one. After my DNF below I spent more time on the solving and when I got stuck I had help from a generous C.O! Thanks for that tofska, the cache final was spot on with the co-ords and nice and dry too. When I bent down to find the cache I was poked in the head by a sharp stick and must have started bleeding because when I wandered back up the path, two elderly woman who had just started down the path were very concerned that I was bleeding! I didn't even know I was. But when back in the car, it did look a bit of a mess! No wonder they were concerned.
I had just done the multi on the roundabout and came here armed with the info from the magic eye to get me started. So I parked up and took out my umbrella (pouring with rain) and walked with it to the tree concerned, took me awhile to find the well hidden container but when I opened it I could see the magic eye wasn't going to work as per the last visitors. So I took note of the link and once home I couldn't get it to work either. So I'm stuck in limbo for the moment and will put this on the watchlist to see what happens next.
Thought we would try this one out today, despite the fact that neither of us have any luck reading Magic Eye pictures, and used a solver to get the first set of coordinates for this one... Considering one of us actually has a severe lack of stereo vision (as diagnosed by an optometrist), we're really only dependent on one half of the team, but she's not much help either!
We found the first stage without any problems, and armed with the power of technology by our side, we were feeling rather confident. However, it turns out taking a photo of an image does not assist with deciphering a Magic Eye image via smart phone. And the link to the image provided in the first stage no longer works, so we can't even stare at it any more to try and see what we need to see at home (i.e....put that link into the Magic Eye solver)... Guess we'll either work on relaxing our eyes some more, or just let this one rest.

Sorry for logging so late! Out on one of Cats&Dragons missions with HKCB and iammrwalker.
I was with C&D and iammrwalker to find this last time but we all struggled with solving in the field. Was great to finally knock it off

C&D had devised a bit of a plan for a challenge he has been working on for a while now, which meant we were focusing on caches with a 2.5 or higher difficulty and terrain rating. I've been a few of these missions with C&D lately and they have always been a bit of fun so I quickly said I'd tag along, we were also joined by iammrwalker and Ky3ber.
The plan meant we had to catch two low tides on both coasts as well as squeeze in night (very early morning) cache before the first low tide at 6.45am. A rugby game this evening also meant we were on a fairly tight time frame for the day, so to get around that a 3.30am start was agreed on. We had a fair bit of luck throughout the day and managed to locate all that we were had planned plus a few others that were close. We signed the logs as HICK, and acronym of our caching names. A big thanks to all the CO's for the great caches which were found today.
C&D gets the kudos for doing the hard work on this multi, I just tagged along for the ride. I used to be able to do these as a kid, but I struggle with these now. Thanks for the multi.
Find #21 for the day.

I was fortunately able to accept an invitation to join Cats&Dragons, HKCB, and Kyb3r on one of C&D’s infamous ‘missions’. The goal today was to collect a bunch of Terrain 2.5 and Difficulty 2.5 or higher geocaches in the Auckland area. We also grabbed some others along the way including a couple that required special requirements. We signed the logs as H1CK an amalgamation of our Geocaching handles. Many of the hides required us to navigate coastal areas at low tides which necessitated us leaving Hamilton at 3:30am. Having been on previous trips like this one with C&D I was keen to go again. The high difficulty, high terrain caches often are much more memorable and higher in quality and that was true of the vast majority of caches we found today. Thanks to the adventurous CO’s for the varying placements and enticing us out and about to discover some new and cool places.
Its taken two visits to Auckland and some homework to nab this geocache. On a previous visit C&D, Kyb3r and I got stuck while trying to complete this multi and C&D went away did some home work and we were back again today to finish it off. It felt good to come back and 'knock the b*sted off'.

Here we are at it again, and in "we" I mean HOAC out and about picking up a few targeted caches in the Auckland Region. Today the team comprised of HKCB, iammrwalker & kyb3r, collectively signing the log as HICK.
As I'm still progressing through the DGSc Challlenge and working to completeing my final elective this was always going to be a challenge in the true meaning of the word. Only the Criminally Insane begin this Challenge and if you weren't prior to starting you will be by the end.
A big thank you to all cache owners whom placed and maintained these caches, we had a great day.
So another even earlier start as we were working to the times of the tides (on both coasts) so of course being out of towners this will never be at a convienent time, but rather when we can pull a group of us together and work to make a great inspired adventure of it. Several of the caches today have required several visitsto gather peices of information that we put together to get the final, and so of course these were also targeted today.
This was the eightteenith of twenty caches we located today with the BONUS of no DNF's. So we set off from Hamilton at OMG 3.30am, knowing that we were going to have to squeeze a lot in (as there was also a Rugby International to make it to tonight).
This has been a while in completing in that we needed to work out the various sections nad as we progressed finally came up with a result that proved fruitful today. Great little puzzle that really made us think and very satisfying to finally sign the log.
Thank you for the Placement, Thank you for the cache

Full of excitement myself and the youngest searched near the giant for the next set of numbers. The gps was dancing around a bit but we still spent an hour and a half scouring around to cover as many options as we thought might be a possibility. Sadly today wasn't our day...... We'll try our luck on some others.
After a few visits over a period of time we gave this one another crack. Unfortunately wearing contacts means that seeing these is difficult so only after taking a photo and then looking at them when the contacts are out can we discover what we have been needing. One of the locations is extremely wet and the log very hard to find. Thanks to a nudge we were able to have one last crack and today was our lucky day. Very slippery on the modestly graded path. Just very green and wet, so like ice. Take care
Had to come back a few times to complete this. Was a bit of an adventure through this patch of bushland right in urban Auckland. It's the middle of winter so some bits were slippery. We managed to find the final this morning, parking in just the right place to make it a quick walk and grab. Geoboy took a car and left a duck and a hello kitty. TFTC
We've been cracking away at this one for a week and finally got down to GZ on a sparkling Auckland early winter day after geowife extracted the last set of co-ordinates thanks to a good firm nudge from a very helpful CO.
Feels like we've been scampering all over this lovely park and finally found the last waypoint in relatively quick fashion today. The puzzles have been fun and really nice to do one with geowife where her puzzle solving skills got a workout and I got to let the old grey matter have a rest.
The cache is where it should be, in good condition, clean and dry. We signed the log and dropped off a couple of swaps for the next folks along. Took a photo to record the first time we've found a cache that hadn't been found in more than a year. Thanks to the CO for the assistance at our roadblock and TFTC, great fun.

Have new pic - back in business! Thanks CO for sending it to us, now just to coax out those numbers...
I can't see these pictures worth a wooden nickel, but fortunately Mrs Tuolei, aka Huan can so she was very kind and stared cross eyed at the laptop until the numbers jumped out. Off we went to the first waypoint and after some discussion about the likely hiding place we managed to find it. Alas for me I was to be no help again as it was another cursed magic eye pic.
It was a photocopy, a bit damp and while not exactly the gloaming, not bright either so Huan produced a couple of sets of numbers as best we could but both led me to places where I would have to do significant amounts of bush-whacking so we thought better of it. Super little spot and still keen to see it out. The geohound loved this park!
It was a photocopy, a bit damp and while not exactly the gloaming, not bright either so Huan produced a couple of sets of numbers as best we could but both led me to places where I would have to do significant amounts of bush-whacking so we thought better of it. Alas URL provided with clue appears to be broken so will touch base with CO to see if we can get a nudge.

I can see the magic eye image guys. Put your face right next to the screen, focus through the image and slowly pull it out, while continuing to focus through the image.
Out with 10centnz completing few puzzles this one had us searching a few different spots over a few visits finally got it Lokky 1 2 March 2015 09:56
out with Lokky1 today to collect a few puzzles. I am glad to finally have this one sorted!! I have made multiple visits to this park to get them. With a little help from the CO with WP 2 I finally had the final on todays visit. tftc
Lokky and I teamed up to get a few this morning so we decided to have another go at this one! There is a punga log a few metres from the path that I am certain is the spot but there is nothing in it!! Am I right?!?!
Have had to take this one in stages because my eyes are not magic enough to read the clues! Stuck at the second (previously the third) wp! Found the hollow log but not the next clue... I will wait for someone to log a find here before I return!

had been looking at this on and off for a few months, and had a eureka moment this week. We needed just one more item to complete the 7 souvenirs of August challenge, and it was a multi. This was the closest unsolved cache to home!
We raced off to the waypoints, and completed the finds over 3 evenings. Unfortunately we are unable to read the 'magic eye' so had to use other tools to create the co-ords. The hides were challenging at times, but we got there in the end. Another amazing part of the West that we had not visited before. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.

We teamed up with Bay7 today to tackle a few unsolved caches. Thanks for the puzzles, we discovered only one of our team had magic eyes! tftc
Headed out today with Flax4 to lovely Blockhouse Bay, great walk, Many Thanks for these Caches.

We spent this afternoon clearing a few caches around Blockhouse Bay and Titirangi. We started this multi a few months ago and got as far as WP3, but after a lengthy search struggled to find anything before the weather turned on us and sent us back to the car. We returned today and had another look for WP3, which was actually found fairly quickly this time. We then went on to the final which was found after short search. Thanks for the enjoyable multi - only one of us has magic eyes though! A favourite point added!
Note - neither of the listed TBs are in the cache.

Hoorah, finally get the hard earned smiley for this cache! Started collecting the information a loooong time ago, just whenever in the area (not often), stopped in to do each stage. Got WP2 quickly but WP3 was so very elusive and after 3 lengthy visits over the years, in the end had to cash in a "help" request to get to the Final stage. Even with detailed clues as to WP3s whereabouts, just couldn't find it (even though it is there). Anyway, today we were in the area so had to stop in to get the Final. Approaching GZ thinking this could be a lengthy search, but as luck would have it this turned out to be the easiest stage for us! Checked 2 spots and voila, done and dusted. Coordinates were bang on. TFTMC, was really enjoyable.
I'd started this one a while back but hadn't made the effort yet to come and collect the cache. With mike-miss keen to knock this one off and needing a cache for the day we came out to look to finish this one off once and for all.
Found the online versions much easier to figure out than the ones in the waypoints (the middle digits seem to double up for me). And after a few false starts we made faster progress through the stages and ended up with a quick find at the final.
Great cache and glad to have finally finished this one - TFTC

Ended up coming back today to WP2 with evilno9 in the hope of completing this multi. Much better weather today, although the track was quite wet in places. After my hopeless attempt yesterday, evilno9, after some time, came up with a set of digits that seemed plausible, so off we went.
Arrived at our destination, only to find that we needed to be over a creek and through some dense bush. Fortunately, we saved the web address at WP2 so a quick email and phone call to miss at home and we were told we had a wrong digit. Ended up being only a few meters away from where we were so no worries there.
WP3 found after a brief search by evilno9. Instead of trying to work out the final coords, a quick email and phone call to miss at home had the digits sorted in no time.
Off we went to the final which was found easily due to a well detailed hint. Great to finally sort this one out! Many thanks for a cool multi and an explore of the area!

Not really a DNF as such, more like a couldn't finish. Found WP2 easily but couldn't seem to sort out the coordinates for WP3. Took a photo and am hoping i can sort at home. Ill be back to finish another time.
Finally got it after many months of practicing my 3-d focusing skills! Took several visits to the park, taking photos of the images for later viewing, but it turned out the best way view was of the actual printed sheets at the waypoints themselves. Looked in 3 different places for wp2 before finding something that matched the hint.
TFTC and for a chance to learn a new 'eye' skill!
TFTC and for a chance to learn a new 'eye' skill!
Started out very confused, using wrong hints for wp. More confusing was that we did find a 6 digit number. Figure the auditors of the city put an asset number on the boardwalk! Talk about bureaucracy gone mad. When we tried a different hint had our eyes crossed soon after. Next wp was quite quick after a stroll over the mud flats and the final was also found without fuss. Really enjoyed exploring this reserve. Fun using the magic eye. NINO TFTC
I have had WP2 solved for well over a year now, but never made the effort to find it until a couple of nights back. I had assumed that I would need good daylight to complete this series, but in the end completed it in darkness (by torchlight) over two visits. Found WP2 after a little poking and prodding and was able to work out a system where I could hold the torch to give just the right amount of light (not too little nor too much) and still perform the requiste task. By the time I had got the coordinates it was getting late so I headed back home. Back tonight and made a reasonably quick find of WP3 (given the tree cover) once I realised I had gone up the wrong track and backpeddled. Again, several minutes were required to produce good numbes for the final. Final was a super quick find, once I realised I had walked well past it and turned around. Cheers for the fun multi-cache placement!
It took us a while to find the first cache at WP2 but we got it eventually. WP3 was quickly found, but the final gave us a lot of trouble. I googled the hint and I think I know what it referring to, but that really didn't help. Probably didn't help that we were looking for a larger container as we hadn't realised that it had been replaced. After much searching though we found it. We didn't want to have to walk away empty handed after all that walking! TFTC
Decided to get this one in the early evening with Anastriel. The first cache (#2) was a bit tricky to find but got there in the end, when I started poking around with a stick. Then off to the next one which was a quick find. Then to the final cache which we had some difficulty with. Firstly we were looking for a 2 ltr container, not the (500ml?) smaller replacement. The hint didn't help. But we keep at it and eventually found it. I enjoyed the Magic Eye element to the cache. TFTC.
Passing some time waiting for kids to finish orienteering. Arrived at WP2, but couldn't find. Spent about 15 mins looking, but Master Dean got bored, so left. Great location which I'll have to come back to explore at another time minus the Master.
After starting this cache a long time ago, we arranged to meet Trout-Fly and PageNZ to finally knock it off the unfound list. Started at Wp2 as this had been confirmed after our last unsuccessful visit and were off to the final in no time. However, discovered the "Loveliest Tree" a few bits of swag, a pencil and remains of a plastic bag. After much consultation we contacted the owner and a replacement cache that Trout-Fly had in his car was used. Thanks for all the fun and a favourite for us.
Out and about with Team Welsh and Pagenz. I never thought that the look I perfected in school would ever come in handy until today. You know the one... staring off into the distance with a total vacant expression on the face. Thanks for the cache, lotsa fun.
A team effort - where would we have been without Trout-fly and his magic eyes, Team Welsh and their determination and my contribution being, why the muggled GZ was THE right place. Lots of fun.
I found stages 2 and 3 more than a month ago without too much difficulty. It is interesting trying to focus on these eye puzzles at night using a flashlight. I had to get creative so that I could achieve the right focus. Unfortunately the final proved to be a bit harder to find. Two visits to GZ turned up nothing and I couldn't figure out the hint for the final. My GPS wouldn't give me a good lock either. So a few weeks later I returned to WP3 to confirm my coordinates which were correct. Finally I received some help on what the clue meant and was out last night for the find.
As is sometimes the case, I can't believe I missed this one even without the hint! It was well hidden but shouldn't have been as hard as I made it. Of course a good GPS signal might have been more useful as mine had me searching each time about 5-10 meters up the path. Despite the frustration of not finding it on my previous visits I'm very happy to have found this one. I enjoyed the puzzles as I haven't seen these since I was a kid. TFTC!

Found on a sunny winter day with O. and W. and 3 muggle friends. Nice bush walk, and thankfully the maze of tracks lead pretty much exactly where the GPS wanted us to go. First two finds were pretty straight forward, nice hides, although had to reach in a LONG way for one of them, so placed a little shallower. Final required some work though and I was getting worried all the effort would be for naught when I wandered back a little further than I would have guessed, and it surfaced. Quite damp inside, container looks like it sucks in a bit of water. Left 2 TBs. TFTC!
The first cache had gone missing, so that has been replaced. Others are still in order. Cheers, M@
After many hours of eye strain, refocusing and chasing mice across the sand we were finally able to determine the co-ords. Despite finding the spot that resembled cache 2 and where the co-ords took us we were unable to proceed any further. It seems that we are cursed with M@'s caches as it never seems to happen in one visit. Would love to know if all the caches are still there as we will return and hope it is not just our usual tale of woe with blind cachers looking in all the wrong places.

Being unable to see these, I cheated and used the computer to work this out.
This worked fine for the initial WP, but then I had to see the image here... I tried, and to my surprise I got pretty close - I only got one digit wrong, confused it with a very similar digit.
Came home, looked up the URL in the cache, and decoded it properly. I'll go back at some stage.

Love these magic eye pictures . A bit aprehensive of going into a bush in Avondale as not that fond of spiders however luckily none were spotted at any of the WPs. Final quickly found T4TC.
Had to use Mrs Gadget-Tron for this as she has the magic eye while I have the lazy eye. Got there in the end. TFTC (Slightly damp log book but still ok)
Out with Greenblat (Mr Mastermind), Kiwileon ( Hawkeye) and me(I dont stop for coffee) ( though today I did!) and My Ultra Ego( The Guru).
Came here ages ago, found wp1 but struggled.... back today with the boys and it was a cake walk, thanks to Greenblats keen eye.
Fantastic idea, well done M@.

Second visit, used the Magic eyes of my wife to find the 3rd WP and Greenblat eyes for the final.
Found it this time on a Sundaymorning out in the West with Greenblat and Thw Wonderstuff.

Together with TWS & KiwiLeon. With sight restored we picked up the 2nd WP and soon had the final. Great idea for a cache thanks M@.
Went out to look for this with KiwiLeon who had solved the first WP. Found the first one but between us we had forgotten how to read, so wil have to come back another day. Great idea though!
came to the firs waypoint with Greenblat. Need my wifes Magic eyes for this one. I'll be back.
Wicked fun! Finally some childhood skills come in hndy.. I knew they would sooner or later! TFTC.
Really enjoyed this puzzel/multi, I normally try to avoid multis but as this was one of M@'s it was likely to be good - I wasn't dissappointed, although the mouse had me confused for a bit.

After extensive readings at WP1 by Nedd and myself, I've adjusted to coords to give a better GZ as you approach. (The reading seems unreliable at GZ itself!).
Dropping off Master Happyharries geocoin.

The cache needs some maintenance the container was pretty wet today, looks like the cache is leaking.
14:40 Yahoo found the first waypoint (still to this day I don't understand the hint ).
The third was an easy find but reading the numbers took a bit of work, I wonder what the muggles thought I was doing .
The Final, took a while to locate but the hint saved the day and very apt indeed. Matt the cache needs some maintenance the container was pretty wet today.
TNLN, Thanks for the cache.

Checked out WP2 (now WP1) on a walkthrough of the park today. Still in place, didn't see any changes to the terrain.
14:11 After a kuana burger at Wendys it was back on with the cache day. Tide out so no issues there.
Cache 2 (The new cache 1) couldn't be found. The area has had some recent land slides so maybe its been buried. Found something that a Giant may use but it had fallen into the new creek. Then I fell through the earth myself, so I flagged it. Be careful there are hidden holes and the earth isn't very stable at present.
Found a discarded a AA battery so must have been the correct spot
Tried to phone the owner, but had to leave a voicemail. Will watch this cache and see if cache 2 is still around. But it may pay to check it out Matt.

Popped in to grab the TB, as I can help with its goal. Bit of water in the cache, sorry didn't have my caching bag with me so nothing to dry it with. Contents safe in bags though.
GPS showed cache 1km from home. Decided to walk around coastline. Failed to check tide times before departing. Found tide almost in so chickened out but then ended up walking 4km up and down side streets. I left rather late in the day, it was raining and light was dimming as I got to Cache 2 location. Lots of disturbed undergrowth at co-ord's given but nothing found. Clue fitted site about 10m away. Also lots of disturbance here too but could not find cache. Getting dark, wishing I had a torch, gave up. Got lots of healthy exercise today though. Will have another look in a few weeks when I return to NZ.
Cache 1 has gone awol again - so we'll just skip it. The image shown on the cache page now will take you straight to Cache 2.
Cheers, M@
