Wooohooo success Big GrinIt has been a long time since I chased an archived cache, but stumbled across this listing recently and had a good feeling about it! Seems like this one has been long forgotten, it has been 8 years since the last finder! I was most worried about solving the multi component at WP1, but with a free afternoon I drove on over and gave it a go! Amazingly, not much has changed since 2015! Goldenwattle's final log is not only helpful, but still applicable! AB [^] C [^]D [^]E Missing again - but in description! F [^]G[^]HI Missing - However this is the value that can only have 3 options when compared to the rest using the checksum! J [^]With Goldenwattle's log, I didn't even need to question which of the three options it was! She has specifically hinted as to which one is correct! So after driving to the GZ, I walked straight past option 1 and up the hill to option 2. After searching for 10 minutes I was starting to get worried. I couldn't find anything, and I was supposed to be looking for a regular! However I persisted, and only a couple minutes later I found something worth investigating! A pile of rocks, completely flush to the ground, covered in leaf litter! It was obvious it had been untouched for 8 years and amazing how well it was hidden, if the container was any smaller I don't think I would have gotten lucky! After clearing the debris and unearthing the rocks, the large sistema was uncovered! I had to pull it out of the dirt, but upon opening it I was amazed to see it was STILL DRY and in GOOD CONDITION! These containers usually get wet when they sit lower than the ground, so it is amazing this one hasn't in 8 years! I rejoiced, took all the required photos needed in order to claim an archived find with sufficient proof, and took a breather after the workout! I have now **removed** this cache from GZ, given1. It hasn't been found for 8 years and is long forgotten about2. It is too close to another traditional cache with proximity rules3. The questions at WP1 are outdatedInstead I am hoping to bring the love back to this cache through a "Tribute" in the future instead, with the container relocated to a new spot, so this cache will no longer be geotrash!

One or more of the following has occurred:

No response from the cache owner.
No cache to find or log to sign.
It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.

As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache within 7 days, just contact a reviewer (by email), and assuming it still meets the current

guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.

Should you replace the cache after 7 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

After my failure yesterday with this one, I gave the problem some more consideration. I had the south co-ordinates, but I didn't have east co-ordinates, because the sign in photo 6 has changed. But looking at the checksum I realised there were only three possible final co-ordinates and they were all in the same area, so I decided to set out to do this one, and search all three areas if need be.
Now, which of the co-ordinates would I place a cache at?
I considered this and set out from the parking area. The first set of co-ordinates didn't look too promising, but I gave it a search. No cache that I could see there, so I set out for the next set of co-ordinates, just over 140 metres away. And after a very short search, there was the cache!
The cache is dry and in good condition. I dropped off the TB 'Redback II', but then Decrypter caught up with me to join me in an afternoon of caching. He spied the TB and picked it up.
One more multicache completed. TFTC puddle company.

I caught up in time for the log signing. After all the wandering about yesterday, I'm pleased this has been found. I saw the TB 'Redback II' and took it with me. TFTC puddle company.

Sad, a DNF. We walked backwards and forwards many times looking for the objects in the photographs. The sculpture is back by the way; however the sign in the photograph has gone and been replaced with another, so we couldn't answer that one. We found answers for A to E, but something is wrong, as the checksum does not add up. H & I we couldn't find, as the sign is different. The building in photograph 3 now looks different, but we guessed what it was and counted the windows. A disappointment Sad!

Added: Saw a mistake, and A - E checksum now adds up, but we still don't know what H & I are.

I gathered the required information the other day and was surprised to find where it was. We went for a walk today and grabbed this one along with a few others in the area.

after fat fingers on Friday accidentally clicked this as found, the feeling of being a sham had me back today to complete this one in earnest. brought McCready with me to introduce him to caching. was a good afternoon spent. tftc

The third find for the day and a chance to finally finish off one I had started long before. I had collected the info for this one quite a while ago with a friend. After doing the calculations, we realized this one would not be achievable to finish that day and I haven't had a chance to finish it until today. I was out for a drive this afternoon with my dad and this was the first on the agenda. I parked close by to GZ and then sprinted up to GZ. Once there, I almost made the worst mistake of my entire life. The first spot I searched had an enormous bee hive in it and I almost stuck my hand in it! After that, I resolved to search more carefully and then found the cache close by. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC puddle company and Hill 4!

I love your muilt-cache for enjoyed but Unforatunate no find for Photo 1, keep eye to around village, not same on photo 1... Maybe something missing..

Damn it, i dont think so come back again... DNF for me today... Sad

Took some time going through this one getting the details. For D the building no longer has the sign, the one in the photo is missing. There is a a similar sign though on the brick fence nearby.
For item E no problem, all the details are there as per original description (not sure why it had to change per May 2011 but not needed now). For item HI the galleries sign is gone and they have changed their name to Artworld Aboriginal Dreaming Gallery. But asking at the establishment will give you the answer for the old sign.

Found on a nice morning around Belconnen. This was a long time coming, it was great that we finally managed to solve and find it today. Didn't want to attempt it until I figured out the rough area that the cache was in, so after carefully reading a previous log, the penny dropped and we were comfortable with the challenge. Within the first few minutes, the first few answered were solved and the correct checksums made it even better. Then came the challenge, for Photos 5 and 6. We originally didn't read between the lines for the first question for Photo 5 - very devious. With an idea of where GZ would be, after counting the amount of rocks, we checked a co-ord near the proposed GZ, and it was correct. Photo 6 - we looked all around the area with no luck. Then we had to ask a local about it. Luckily, we found a helpful sign after his advice. The location of Photo 6 has changed it's business name and logo, meaning that the sign changed. Luckily, there was a sign near the new sign, with the original information on it. We were then ready to go. Overall, it was an absolutely lovely tour of this place, learnt some new things along the way. After some Maccas (not up for local Gold Creek food today), we drove to GZ, walked up to it and after a few minutes of slogging up hills and admiring wildlife/views, the cache was quickly found. Nice spot to finish off a great multi. Left PT. TFTC puddle company!

Worked out the other day & collected today

Being quite warm and with the geotoddler needing a sleep it was decided that a georun in the car was in order. Daz had found the necessary information and had come up with some excellent looking coords on the 9th. Thus with time up our sleeves this cache was high on our list today. Parking at the base of the hill Daz and Mr CDM261 enjoyed a short stroll to GZ where the cache was quickly uncovered. Both the clues location and the final are great spots but it is difficult to see how they are linked. Having sat there for quite some time we took the TB hidden inside, TFTC.

#394 - 15:45; This one was solved several weeks ago, but the opportunity to make the grab didn't present until today. Convinced the geohoney and friend to try a differnt venue for their Sunday afternoon stroll. They agreed and so I was able to clear a couple of multis off the nearest 30 to home on the iPhone list. The track to GZ was pretty easy and the cache was quickly located too. Dropped a TB for the next finder to keep moving on its travels, so hoping someone else will be by soon! TFTC puddle company, which is also my 50th multi! Big Grin

A nice night for a walk. Not too many muggles at this time of the evening. We collected the clues and enjoyed a nice walk around gold creek. GZ was familiar location however we weren't keen on the prickles given Mr Stormcatcher had chosen to wear his brand new runners. A quick find, signed log, TNLN. Thanks

We had done the leg work on this one and solved the final co-ordinates months ago, but it has taken until now for us to be in the area of the cache for us to find it. We made our way to GZ after finding two nearby caches. Once we got close to GZ we made a quick find. TNLNSL TFTC

25-Mar-12
I got all the info for WP1 month ago but was always skeptical that I had it right, partly because it was far away (but we knew that) but also because of the 161m rule. I couldn't find anywhere when this rule came into place but apparently after May 2005.
So while in the area today we went for this one and I was worried till the last meters if we would find anything here. Spot on we found the cache and it dry and super rich swap content. Dino was very happy and had a hard time choosing. Thanks for a very different cache puddle company.

Was part of the gang of five that invaded the George Harcourt for some much deserved nomies after a morning's meanderings. A good brew in the warm sunshine sustained us for an afternoon of more calculations. We all wandered around the various spots gathering required bits of information. Norkmeister actually did the calculation and it was noted that GZ was not at all in the direction we were heading (next stop for that day was Hall), so the numbers were stored for a later trip.

Today yielded all sorts of changed plans. Originally I was going to take my son for a climb and a scramble together with introducing a work colleague to caching. But due to other commitments and poor weather that plan fell apart and I was called to assist a friend in Belconnen. Well.... may as well make a bit of a detour and get some caching in today since (as a southerner) I considered myself to be almost there anyway.

I was very hopeful that my stored coords were correct as I didn't have any of the workings from the other week with me. Thankfully it was an easy find once at GZ. TFTC.

24-Jul-11
We love it up here, but I had to check the coords a few times before we tried as it's so far from WP1. Great spot though, even when it's just 6 degrees! Took tee and arm band, left car, necklaces and the newish Newberys pathtag for the next cacher. TFTC

17-Jul-11
The gang of 5 did the groundwork, just haven't got to GZ so ....as long as Norky shares it with the rest of us, will finish at some other time! Lunch was delicious by the way !

22-May-11
Had to use the check sum to solve the first part as the clue was missing. Nice cache

22-May-11
We were uncertain if this was still intact being unloved for so long, but decided to try anyway. It was a lovely morning and there were lots of muggles to keep us company!

E is not available as there is no date information there (at least that we could find and I see an earlier note to that effect). Possibly the plaque/information has gone or not been replaced. This should be updated to keep the cache viable otherwise you have to rely on the checksum which is fine if all else is correct. Unless of course it's in some obscure spot on the sculpture? Need to keep it smooth....

All other clues good but be prepared for a drive (10 minutes) to the GZ then a walk, which came as a surprise to us! Still, the bonus was we collected two other caches while we were there. This may not suit other cachers, such as visitors short of time, so adding a reference in the notes would assist and avoid any disappointment.

This is a nice cache and deserves being kept up to date.

22-May-11
Thanks to feedback, I've updated the description to include the value for E until I can get out there and find another clue.

24-Oct-10
When we did this one back in September, we worked out the number from the year of the sculpture by using the checksum as they were replacing the wood under it. They have done the wood but still nothing with the year on it. You may want to choose a new clue for that number?

Thanks for bringing this one back!

Grabbed a coffee then made the wander in the company of McPhan and Winglen. Clues scored then off to GZ. Great views.

Thanks for the cache and the coffee break.

Thanks puddle gang for bringing this one back to life. For years it seems this had stubbornly stayed on the unfound list as we journeyed across the north caching from time to time, but we never attempted it given the missing pieces. So we (McPhan, ZZ7 and Mr Winglen) stopped nearby to get coffees, and we enjoyed wandering around the clues with coffee in hand, and quickly calculated GZ to be back where we had been caching only 30 minutes earlier. Thanks again puddle gang.

2973. [font=Comic Sans Ms][green]The same as Mr W I had been looking at this one longingly ever since I started caching but didn't have the confidence or patience to attempt given some of the frustrations apparent in the previous logs. A wonderful brew courtesy of Enjoi and a pleasant wander around this well known area (ex loved this area) and then off for some top views. Mr W was going to claim FTLINLB but obviously decided against that.

Thanks for resurrecting this one and making it a very pleasant cache.

It's the Puddle Gang's pleasure to bring this cache back online with new photos and clues. Cache is still in the original location but with a new container and log book. The original log book is still present for those history buffs.

Thanks goes to "The Hill 4" for the original cache and letting us take it over.

Enjoy!!

Many of the features are no longer here so we contacted the current cache owner who filled in the gaps for us. We've volunteered to take over this cache so once we work out how to do that, we'll take the cache down for maintenance and update the clues.

Found the cache with help... Anyway enjoyed walk along to the GZ with lovely view... Plenty kangaroos... Left some trackables. SL. Thanks The Hill for organising the cache and hunt.

02-Nov-09
As Ratpackleavings said we wandered around Fed square collecting clues. The main problem was the bell didn't have a number at all. So with the help of a previous finder who could fill in the gaps, we had a GZ. I walk the GZ regularly and love the view at night. Everything was intact and dry.

Might be worth changing a few of the unattainable answers at the problem areas at fed square, cause its such an excellent multi.

28-Oct-09
On my last visit to Gold Creek, I tried to do the WPs for this cache, but couldnt find many of the answers. Nearly a year later, I got around to doing something about it by getting a previous finder to fill in the gaps for me.

Then it was off to GZ, a short stroll but very nice views from here.

Thanks for the cache

05-Oct-09
After a failed attempt at finding the various clues with Sara, I resorted to phoning a friend who helped with GZ. It would have been enjoyable if we had of realised that many of the clues weren't present - we spent a good hour at Gold Creek Villiage to no avail.

04-Jul-09
This cache was a joy to do. The cacher should note that due to the time since hiding some clues have deteriorated. Blinky Bill is sadly cut down to size and only his plinth remains. The door in clue number nine is also gone, instead look at the second door in from the left corner near the picture, there is a sticker in the top left pane of glass.

The correct coordinates will point to a location about 3km away towards Belconnen from the golden location of the hints.

As Fitzy says, some of the answers were hard or near impossible to find, but with a push from the owners, we had a GZ calculated.

As we were both out this side of town tonight, we headed off, torches in hand and had the cache in hand after a minutes of searching. Fitzy grabbed the coin, and low and behold, it's been missing for almost 12 months. Glad we could grab it to move on.

Thanks to Hill 4 for the assistance and the chance to find another multi.

Cheers,

1194 - Wow ! A long time between drinks (visits) for this cache - unusual for a Canberra cache not out in the boonies....

Did the walk around finding most of the answers - but some were hard or very hard to find these days. I contacted the owners and gave them what I had. They replied very quickly (thanks guys considering you don't seem to be 'active' in caching at the moment) and steered me in the right direction.

And so to reconstruct the previous finders find (sort of) Sol de Lune and I ventured out after dark tonight to see if we could be first to find in 2009 - a nice ring to it...

And what do you know - there it was - still in good condition and the coords were spot on. And as a bonus I found a coin (not listed as being in the cache) that the owner from Belgium had listed as missing.

Thanks to the owners for their assistance on this one - nice to cross off another one off the list - especially a suburban one...

Took Unlisted/Missing Coin !! - TFTC !!

Cheers....

JABs log sums this find up. What are the odds of stumbling on a cache in the dark? Pure luck I reckon.

Thanks "The Hill 4"

This cache is Logged with the owners permission.
All started at about 4.30 am on a cold and frosty Canberra morning, we had been caching since 6.30 pm and the mind was now starting to play tricks, we had walk up numurous hills and over many frosty grass fields to finally stop in this urburn street to hunt for a near by cache Roger, the Cabin Boy.
As we neared the cache I looked down and spied the spot where I would hide a cache (there it was) and started to open said cache only for Code1 to call back to me what are you doing we still have about 100 meters to go.
Any way we signed log and decided to travel the 100m and guess what it was here we found the true cache and relised that against the odds we had not only found a cache on the side of a hill we had done it in the dark.
So we returned to that location to collect some info like who had found it and when so we where able to track down the the cache ID and owner.
Thanks for the greatest adventure of finding a cache without any previous cache info.
JABs.

Just had to come back to complete this cache - but definitely wouldn't have found it without the final coords from The Hill 4 - I was miles off! As mentioned by CT, the cache is nice & dry, but my jeans & shoes/sock got soaked walking through the long wet grass this morning.

Found @7:40pm (just about dark - love the cachelight saving).

SecretSquirrel-BJC's log notes our previous attempt at this cache. I finally had to resort to some help from The Hill 4 to solve the GZ coords (thanks heaps for the help!!)

Found cache nice and quick once at GZ. It's remarkable how dry and well kept the contents look after the recent rain and long spell between finds.

Thanks The Hill 4. Loved the puzzle and the cache.

27-Oct-07
Had a crack at this one today, but ended up not even trying to find the cache after coming up with some very dodgy coords that would have placed me in the CSIRO secure area. I had printed off the photos & directions a long time ago, so I had not read SS-BJC's log before heading out today. In addition to his comments regarding photos 7 & 9, there are also some potential problems with photos 2, 3 & 5. While I am pretty comfortable with my guess for photo 2, but one of the spokes for photo 3 appears to have been recently broken (so I wasn't sure if it should be counted), and I am pretty sure that the statue in photo 5 has been removed - but I was fairly confident that I could still work out answer. In the end I think that 7 & 9 were the main stumbling points, so I have sent an email to The Hill 4 for clarification/assistance.

395 @4:15pm

CT and I attempted this back in early April and should have logged a DNF. There was too much ambiguity so we decided to check the numbers with the owners. South coords fine. Some of the East coords very suspect in a major way. The Hill 4 gave us the correct coords.

The problem is that at waypoint 7, there are now two phone numbers not one. Waypoint 9 was also very ambiguous.

Being too proud to completely accept charity, I thought I would go out today and check waypoint 9 again. Hmmm - still dodgy and uncomfortable.

Ok, swallow pride and head off to the provided gz coords. Lovely, now familiar spot - easy find and picked up Squishy TB.

Thanks Hill 4 for a great concept, some exploring, a very pleasant walk around the first location (should have had a coffee there), and reminiscences of Lost French Tourist.

I know you are very busy with work and study - however this good cache would be even more enjoyable if you could refresh waypoints 7 & 9 with some more unambiguous questions and answers - unless that is what you always intended.

Attempted this one with Parkes5. Had a great morning walking round visiting some spots we hadn't been in years. Window sticker was a tough one. Not sure we've got end co-ordinates right, but will go back to find at some stage. This was our first attempt at this type of cache.

It took me 3 evenings spread over about 3 weeks to complete this one. I kept losing the light and I'm not that fond of walking around in the dark by myself. However, I was relieved to find that I had interpreted the clues correctly. I really love this type of cache. I used to run around the GZ area regularly but haven't been back in about 15 years, so it was nice to make a return visit. TFTC.

My niece and nephew helped me on this, their first, geocache. They had a ball running around find all the photo locations.

They were a bit disapointed that we didn't find the final cache before they had to travel home.

Will have to check my calculations and clues before attempting again when they are back in Canberra in a couple of weeks.

25-Dec-06
I started this one last weekend with the kids, but ran out of time before we could find the cache itself. I wasn't sure we'd found the right numbers, so I emailed the Hill 4 for confirmation.

Turns out I had the wrong numbers, but they graciously corrected my mistakes.

The kids and I had a quiet Christmas afternoon, so I decided to take advantage of the warm weather and the lack of any other housework that needed doing to find this one.

Found the cache without any problems at all. While I signed the log, the kids pored through the cache and my daughter ended up swapping a toy car for a pokemon badge, which she is now proudly wearing.

Woo!, found with Hayleylou.
Got this one finally. Took a little longer than expected.
Assumed where one photo would be and it's an "under construction" area so one pic might be down. And the window sticker wasn't real obvious either. Resorted to assuming the number for the bell and doing the "bearing" trick and found the cache. Went out for the TB's here.
Good ole Shrek and Donkey are coming with us to the next cache!.
Took Shrek TB. Hayleylou's logging donkey. (They're not being separated).
LN Signed Log. (A spider has built a furry cocoon on rocks near the cache, beware!) Would have put the evil microcoin here but I have somewhere more evil for this one Smile

Found with Frebbles, finally, on a nice rainy Friday evening. Had to make a couple of guesses with the photos, but managed to find the cache anyway. Like many of the others before us, we thought this would be easier than it turned out to be, but a fun cache none the less. As the cache hadn't been found in a few months, the lid been inhabitated by a spider and covered in a large thick web, so watch out when retrieving it from its hiding spot!
All up a good cache, and a nice place for it. Was also nice to get to have a better look around the first location. Thanks.
LN took donkey travel bug, frebbles will log shrek, however they will be kept together when they are taken to their next location.

Yet another one done in the company of Fore! and Shadow!.

I really enjoyed this one as it was quite tricky gathering all the correct info.

Did this one with allrounder and Shadow! - which was just as well because gathering the clues was a good treasure hunt! - Took us longer than we might have expected but was worth it. The venture to GZ once we had collected all the coordinates was nice... and with my new boots the grass seeds were factored out of the equation!

Loved the cache and its hiding spot - well done.

Found it! Third attempt, 5 mins until I had to go. Couldnt find the window sticker by flagpole (despite good tips) so just winged and followed a bearing.

Wookies and grass seeds dont mix.

Did this one at night. I must be a sucker for punishment as most of the photos were very difficult to place. I just kept wandering around hoping to stumble on a few. Fortunately I did stumble on a few. Photo 8 I found the hardest, I walked right past it the first time. The place is very lonely and quite at night. I was also expecting a tap on the shoulder from a resident security gaurd or mugger, but neither showed an interest.
At photo 7 there are two numbers. One is printed and the other written. I took a gamble that the written one was put after the hint was written and it payed off.
Then my GPSr wouldn't settle down at the final location. I would get it to 1m then it changed to 12m away. It took about 3 separate searches around 3 separate zero points to find the tell-tale signs of a cache. Removed the TB for further travels around Canberra.
I quite enjoy night time caching, and this was a good one for that. Thanks be to The Hill 4.

WOW. Finally finished this one. Took quite a few attempts and it is only a difficulty of 1. Nothing difficult about the photos. Found all those within the hour. It was the final cache point as I had wrong coords. I guess I just can't take a hint and you should always look right at a frog. TFTC. Swapped TBs.

One false start (I think we were tyred), then success.
Thanks Hill4.

Finally, back in town and I find this cache to do. Fairly tame compared to the ones mentioned therein, but interesting nevertheless. Enjoyed walking all around the area seeing all and such a pleasant day to do it too.

Found ALL the photos, did the maths (once) and off we went to find the cache, which we did without any further maths corrections.

Nice final location, we just sat in the nice warm sun admiring the scenery all around. Took fridge magnet, left the ball TB.
Coooeeeeee.

Originally, the first point asked you to count the number of tyres behind you. One tyre has gone missing so I've changed the clue to a more permanent fixture.

Started this one yesterday and found all bar one of the photo locations. Decided it was easier to 'guesstimate' that digit. Looked at the result, and like ThomasS wasn't happy. I looked on the map in my GPSr and thought why not.

Went to the final location today and didn't find the cache, or a spot to hide it. Tinkered with my maths and found a better location. Viola. Found the cache. Nice location and a pleasant day for a cache hunt.

Took the travel bug and was going to leave a 'Where's George $1 bill', but realised I left it at home. Left a mini-FM radio in its place.

Found by BiancaS and ThomasS on a nice sunny Saturday morning! (There was a little chill in the air, but that was soon forgotten when the hunting began). Bianca found most of the waypoints! (I tried too not look to hard…) Bianca also found the cache at the end – so she was very excited! (Mind you, I did the maths – and I didn’t like the answer, so I had to use some logic to come up with a better answer!)

I love this type of cache – you get a lovely stroll through an interesting place, and a cache at the end. Took March Calendar Bear TB. (We forgot to bring a swap in all the excitement of leaving this morning).

Thanks “The Hill 4†for letting us rediscover this place, and all the fun.

A very cold start to the day saw me moving quickly around the photos. I found all but one and decided to come back when it was warmer. Back later that day and after a quick detour had the cache in hand.

A very enjoyable cache that wasn't to hard. well done

For some reason I can't upload photos so I'll try this way instead. Here's hoping.
