Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin, down the Centre and in the Flinders. Basing ourselves in Peterborough for a few days to grab finds in the surrounds. Love these back country hides - our type of cachng. Thanks Bunya
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin up along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches as we go. Thanks Bunya for the puzzle and cache.
Full time Nomads since March 2014.
Having been in Perth to visit family our stay has come to an end and we are on our way to Broken Hill for the Mundi Mundi Bash.
Stopping in Jamestown to catch up with Sylken. Luckily we were also able to catch up with Chrispy89 and Honeysucker. [^] Today we headed out between loads of washing to convert as many local caches as possible.

With a few days off back in Adelaide I decided to head to the mid north again after still having some caches to find up this way from my last visit 2 weeks ago, nice to be driving around on the back roads exploring new places and seeing the country side.

This was my first puzzle solve many, many moons ago so it was good to get out and finally sign the log. An interesting hide and after searching through all the vegetation there's no fleas on us.
Absolutely no issues with the solving or finding of this cache. Thank you for keeping this old cache going for so long.
This was a nice quick find as well as a nice quick solve. Thanks for placing this cache and maintaining it for so long.

Out with geo hubby Animal62 on this sunny Tuesday morning, collecting a few caches & smiley faces for our maps, as we travel these many dirt roads on our journeys. The cache container & logbook are in excellent condition.

Almost 12months since its last find. Always nice to find an unloved cache. This one had a bit more sentimental meaning behind the find, not just because I've had it solved for some 7years and we've finally made it over this way, but Bunya was a Whyalla Geocacher we had the privilege of meeting before his passing.
Bunya was always one for a clever puzzle cache and this one proved to be no different. A great little puzzle that younger ones these days will have now clue on.

Day of driving to gather some caches. A chilly, windy morning and this one found quickly. Great to visit this area of the countryside, one I have not visited previously. Tftc
This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to Melrose for mountain biking the trails with a few non-geocaching friends. We ended up hiking up to Mount Remarkable on Sunday, and on Monday, we returned to home via Booleroo Centre, Jamestown, and Clare. The weekend had some rain drizzle and crisp mornings, but otherwise good weather for fitness.
Today, we had a morning Melrose mountain biking session, before starting to drive back to Adelaide. We had some time to fill, so ended up taking the long route via Booleroo Centre, Hornsdale, and Jamestown, to then arrive at Clare for an afternoon tea/coffee event. It was then an expedited drive via Gawler.
I needed a nudge to help how to solve this puzzle, and the puzzle was just cryptic enough for me not to realise its solving technique. I wonder whether this technology is still utilised? Unfortunately I wasn't able to check these coordinates due to the use of locus.evince, and so hoped that my working was correct (the CO may want to correct this, or simply add Geocaching's inbuilt checker).
We parked, and I spent a good 10 min looking around trying to find this cache. I was actually close to giving up, and so one last attempt at trying to find this one, and eureka, the cache was found very well hidden and camouflaged. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Bunya for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this cache with 414 days [13.6 months / 1.13 years] of unfound love since its last find on 1/09/2019.

Finally cracked this in order to solve GC2F9PJ Puzzle Puzzle. If I’m ever in this corner of the globe, I’ll physically complete the cache!
Found on a short trip up to the Flinders Ranges with Freddo to undertake some cache maintenance and pick up a few other caches.
Got to enjoy the beautiful winter weather we are having, although the country is looking pretty dry in places.

Cottoned on to the idea quite quickly but couldn't progress the line of reasoning. Reading through the logs and cache page of the northern hemisphere counterpart and the single letter difference revealed a very satisfying puzzle. Found on our way along the backroads as we headed to the Flinders and beyond for the week. Thanks for the puzzle and cache Bunya!
Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Today we are in Jamestown, and spent a couple of hours driving around nearby Mt Lock on an extremely cold and windy day.
Driving along this road from Jamestown, just as we drove over the puzzle icon, we came upon a tractor. BeeP BEEEP TRACTOR, we are coming past.
Thought I would share, even though I have not attempted the puzzle cache.

Catching up on late logs.
Being in James Town to do the Pyro for the Air Show and having a couple of hours off I thought I would try a few caches I did not get last time through.
We had sorted our the puzzle before I left and now all I had to do was to go and find it.
This turned out to be a bit of a drive but well worth it for what was in the area.
The cache was found fairly quickly as there were not a huge about of hiding spots available at GZ, it still was not in the first few places I checked. After adding our name to the log I re hid the container a little better and then headed off to have a look around at what was here.
Many thanks Bunya for a puzzle we could solve and an interesting GZ.

Owl was sure she had the right coordinates, even with the demise of evince. However, despite searching everything in sight, she just couldn't locate the cache today. Did get muggled by a carload of people who mentioned they had friends at the Roonka event, but they weren't much help either!

Tried solving this during my last visit to Jamestown but didn't get there. Solved it quickly once back in Adelaide. Grrrr. Into the TBF queue till the right moment. Had to make a trip to the area this week so Planned to make this find as it is just up the road from one of my work locations. Was a bit worried by the DNF though.
This morning I travelled up the road to GZ, parked nearby and started the search. Looked in a couple of likely locations, but nothing. Getting concerned. Looked under the next spot and there was the cache, safe and sound and dry. Extracted the log, signed and replaced. Off to work feeling really satisfied.

After looking and looking at the cache page without a 'light bulb moment', I looked through previous logs and the map and decided that the only method I would find useful was 'brute force'.

Luckily I was rewarded in the third place I looked. Now to try again to solve the puzzle ..................

Having recently solved this puzzle, today was the day to find. The sun is trying to break through after the recent heavy rains but the wind chill is ferocious! This was a quick find. got a hint on how to solve this cache, and while on my way to jamestown for the night, i thought a 10km detour was in order, had spent a little bit of time here looking, and looking, so was using the phone the friend option to give and hint when it was found by muggle brother. i swear i looked there,m but must have been the freshness and darkness that had me off my game tonight. the fox that was mention in the last find bt firesafe is now just a pile of bones., cache was still in good order considering it hasnt been found in 11months. took, geocoin, think it is sick of sitting in the cold for so long. was going to leave one but had left them home.

Nice puzzle Bunya - now I just need to get over that way to find and log.......
Cache container and log book replaced.
I've slightly changed the information on the cache page on how to spot the cache once you reach GZ.
For the FTF on the new log book, I've left one of my Vegemite geojellies (this is a mini geocoin – the cacher who takes it can keep it or activate it and set it loose as a trackable).

After a very long drive back from Adelaide, via North Bundaleer, I am just visiting a trackable at the cache nearest to where I am staying. Getting some miles on it now!
Finally got around to grabbing this one. I noticed a distinct pattern in recent logs though - people always seemed to be rushing for it just before it rained. Not this time though, on a cold and frosty morning I ducked out before work to grab it.
The roads between where I am staying and where the cache is vary between gravel and mud. Because it has been wet, the mud was churned up by tractors, but then dried, leaving solid ruts the size of tractor wheels. Not easy on my little pulsar, but we made it eventually to the accolades of a cow with her head stuck in a fence.
Thanks Bunya!

I spent nearly an hour on this one, reading logs from this and the one in North America, and it wasn't until I took a good look at the big picture that I figured it out. Even then, I had a few niggling doubts, and sure enough, evince gave me the big red stop sign. Suddenly, enlightenment struck! I plugged in my revised coordinates, but evince wouldn't let me check them.
I read the paper.
I read the comics. (Zits was fantastic, as always.)
I plugged in the new coords, and bingo! So simple! So close! I am staying at a house less than 8km from where I am staying! Might be a trip for the morning, because it is pouring down, it is black as pitch, and dinner is ready.
Turns out my landlord knows the family who live (or used to live) down the road from the new cache location.

It was always going to be touch and go, to try and retrieve this cache before the heavens would open. I had about half an hour before sunset and dark storm clouds were starting to gather. Knowing I would only have one chance, I hopped in the car to drive the required distance from Jamestown. Luckily Wombat Stew had given me excellent directions as to the quickest way to get there. Just when I closed the lid of the container, the rain finally started bucketing down and I needed to do my own roadrunner impersonation to get back to the car. Beep Beep!

Being rather puzzle-challenged, this stumped me until I read some of the logs to the American sister cache. An 'A-Ha' moment and Evince was soon agreeing with me.

I've had these coordinates sittting in my GPS for so long, that it's a relief to finally get here and find the cache. As I approached, I thought it was going to be on the structure at the corner, but no, my GPS led me up the street a bit further. Container is looking a little worse for wear - two of the clips have come off, but it seems to be hanging in there.

Our first geocache outing in 3 months.
We first attempted this one back in November 2006, but only had the PDA with us, so the code meant nothing to us. We received a subtle hint from Bunya, and soon had the corrected coords.
Decided to go for a drive to Orroroo, so made this our first stop for the day. Used the polgon editor over at http://gsak.net/google/polygoneditor.html to load only the caches we needed. I assumed it would include all caches within the bounding box, but as we drove out through Caltowie, I realised that a lot of the caches we wanted were not loaded into either the GPSr or the PDA!
We did however have them printed out on our maps, so finding the right location was easy enough, but we had our work cut out for us trying to find a cache in such a large area. The area had received a reasonable amount of rain the night before, so Mrs J had a bundle of fun sliding the GeoViva along the slippery muddy roads.
Eventually came up trumps, as the leaf litter that once concealed the cache is no longer in place. Glad to finally get back to this cache and log it.
Thanks Bunya for the cool cache and very interesting location.

With Bunya's permission a duplicate of this cache has been set up in America. There is a great log entry for the American cache I absolutely loved. A cacher had some difficulty from locals and the log was amazing to read it's not every day you get to read a line like - "crack heads from the hood"

I have since so was happy to find our travels would take us past it and was keen to finish this one. Clever, simple puzzle and a good introduction to a puzzles cache for those in the group that don't usually attempt this style.

Second stop on the Flinders trip (thanks to those who actually knew where we were going) - TFTC - no problems working it out but would never have even tackled it if it weren't for this trip

Travelling with eight other teams on our way up to the “Flinders†event, this was the second of our mass-assault caches. I was left to bring up the rear in the geo-commode. We hung back a bit because of the dust, so by the time we arrived at the final loc, it was all over bar the shouting. Took my turn at signing the log and zoomed off to the next one . Thanks Bunya.
Found at 16:20, after a little miss direction and doubling back after Appila Day. Took little budha, left little dog in a basket. A quite historical spot. Thanks again Bunya.
