The King is dead. Long live the King!

08-Dec-09
Nearly there. Just waiting on some magnetic supplies to become available at work

29-Oct-09
Hmmm I went to replace this tonight and it's not just muggling but a case of complete structure replacement. In a different location. .. that's going to take some more work so back to the shonky drawing board.

29-Sep-09
Reported Muggling.

22-Sep-09
Unfortunately this cache has been muggled (logging 2/10), which is a shame because the bits I could complete were quite interesting and the area was quite nice to visit. When I couldn't work out one of the wpts I must confess to asking for some assistance, but ran into further trouble when I couldn't find the cache. I searched all around the object closest to my indicated coordinates for about 10 minutes but gave up. As I was walking back to the car the logbook was found laying wet on the ground but nothing else.

I hope it can be resurrected soon, it's a very well put together multi.

Cheers,

R - B

#11 for TTG Lovely walk!

06-May-09
Thought those muggles would never leave. Luckily they did and cache was in hand. Thanks shonkylogic for the cache and hunt.

Visited at 15:01
When we finished this one we felt that we should have parked at the opposite end and did this one in reverse rather than walk the same street three times. However, the hide at GZ is nice and tricky. All up, interesting walk in a strange park.
TNLNSL TFTC, find #492 for Echo & Spice.

14-Mar-09
The clues are legible again due to some clean up work.

Cache 4/5 of a daddy-daughter caching expedition today and 1/2 off the DNF list!

Thanks shonky!

25-Jan-09
A late afternoon walk, difficulty in reading one of the signs but if you look hard enough you can see what the number is meant to be, nice walk with an easy find at GZ TNLN TFTC

25-Jan-09
Did with froghoppin easy find TFTC

11-Nov-08
Second of three DNFs for the day. Took a guess at the answer to the first question and from reading the logs I think I ended up in the right place but it wasn't to be.

10-Nov-08
The sign that gives the percentage of South Australian bird species found on the Adelaide Plains has been vandalised or eroded.

18-Oct-08
Easy find, thanks for the cache!

24-Aug-08
With a couple of numbers missing this should have been no trouble, as the numbers needed were obvious, but at GZ no cache and no relevance of the clue.

Back tracked to check the other numbers. Found one mistake, but that only made 2m difference.

Then a final try at a different missing number and a possible GZ appeared. Made the final a drive by.

Thanks for a lovely walk on a lovely winter's afternoon.

23-Aug-08
Found with Ashna. Actually this is the second time we have found this one but we did not log it this time. Difficult finding some of the numbers now that the signs have been defaced. TFTC

21-Aug-08
Found as Ashna, have now made a new account Smile

21-Aug-08
Found with Chilli Dogs. There was a sweet left in the cache - bad idea - cache was crawling with ants. Removed sweet and left English Penny. TFTC

13-Aug-08
Nice hiding place, I get the hint now Razz
I was helped by Perseguidor.

Found with Acosador at 15:45.
Really liked the hunt, a very enjoyable multi-cache and a great idea to get people to check out the trail.

20-Jun-08
found 18/6/08 with bek-theracoon

18-Jun-08
Found it with Stretch.
We weren't entirely sure about how far away from GZ it would be, and the hint set us straight.
TFTC, this is our closest to home, its good to get that one down Smile
-Bek-theraccoon

Ps. We left stickers and a lolly
Pps. Even after the paint was removed, question 1 was pretty difficult to answer! (But not impossible)

10-Apr-08
Signs have been cleaned up by the local council. Cache is still in place. No further excuses ok?

06-Apr-08
Looks like some vandals have come across some white paint, all the signs are covered. [:(!] I'll give the council a ring in the morning and see if they can clean it up.
Cache is still there.

05-Apr-08
GZ (the sign with info for secondary coordinates) has had paint spilled all over it, making the majority of text unreadable Sad Hence, without the clues, I couldn't get the second waypoint or find the cache.

22-Feb-08
?cache has been removed. Not found. Can the op confirm placement?

12-Jan-08
A relatively quick and easy find, I remember supervising the instillation of the irrigation system here a few years back

Thanks Shonky

11-Jan-08
Knowing that I had a couple of days in Unley doing the senior first aid course I thought I would check all of the caches in the area and it appeared from an earlier log that it was traditional to complete this cache during that course so I got the information one day and the cache the next. Cheers Shonky, I would have knocked on your door but I didnt know which one it was. MODU.

08-Jan-08
Found this one after a bit of backwards and forwards getting clues and regetting the odd one we missed. In the end it was an easy find thankfully. Might have enjoyed the stroll in slightly cooler weather, but not so much today.
Thanks indeed.

Our walk wasn't as linear as hoped. but we eventually got all the right clues. A nice little stroll.
Thanks, Robmc.

27-Oct-07
It has taken about six months to complete this one due to muggles there everytime I want the cache.
Today was muggle free.
Thanks

With an outragiously boring day planned doing day 1 of 2 Senior First Aid days 9am-5pm Sad I thought "what could make it better?" [?] Bought Coffee on the way down the hill in peak hour was a start, then an early morning find. Thanks Shonky for replacing it. First to log new cache. My muggle friend will hopefully un-muggle and log soon Smile TFTC

16-Jun-07
Monarchists will be pleased. The Royal Lineage is unbroken.

11-Jun-07
Definitely gone. I'll get a replacement container made up soon...

07-Jun-07
Had a great little stroll with long time muggle, wannabe cacher friend, but sadly did not get the cache, even after ringing the dsfifty hotline (and yes we had looked where it should have been) Sad Back in town friday... maybe shonky you can have a look b4 then and I'll complete the job? I did enjoy the walk though Smile

12-May-07
Made use of the new log book. Took the owl to make a bit more room. Will return to the place from whence it came for re use. Love the concept of this one. Are there more parks like this around Adelaide that could be made into similar caches? Great place to finish the cache too. I might be back with the extended family one day to use the place I reckon.

19-Mar-07
Brand new logbook installed. Wink

16-Mar-07
I didn't see the Duke, Liz, Chuck, Randy Andy or any other "Royals" and I played here all the time as a kid. At 12.30h, Took - Nothing. Left - Nothing. TFTC

11-Mar-07
Great little area for a walk, and a nice day for it as well.. Lots of muggles out and about, and had to wait a little while for the area around the cache to clear.

Cache needs some maintenance - the log sheet is full, so I added a supplementary page. Also, the magnet in the bottom of the container has come loose, so you may want to reglue it.

TNLN, TFTC!

20-Feb-07
I meant to add that the log 'book' is now full.

20-Feb-07
Nice (but slightly hot) stroll through Parkside. Had a double take at GZ but there was really only one place it could be. No muggles in sight. TFTC.

I used to live off one of these streets many a year ago and it looks a lot better now. TFTC

13-Feb-07
I didn't even realise they were birdges! I just thought the council was being excessive with their budget! I should have worked it out when I saw the ones in the park, but it took asking a friend about it to understand. Nice cache and a lovely bwalk, even if it was a hot, hot day. TFTC.

12-Jan-07
Found this one on the way home, another nice little park in an urban area. Knowledge gained along the way made this cache interesting

09-Jan-07
In the heat of the day, Mrs E decided to try her very first multi on her own!!! Much to my surprise (and of course to Mr E's) the initial calcs were correct. Mr E joined me for the cache hunt after finishing work early. Nothing like a girl look to find a cache, pretty sure Mr E had previously looked in that very spot!!!! TFTC Shonky.

06-Dec-06
Had some time to spare while the car was having new tyres fitted. Did take to long before i had all the answers and the cache was in hand. TNLNSL TFTC

22-Oct-06
Did the sums, found the cache.. and took it for a walk for an hour. Man in the park with two little uns was there when we got there, and gave us odd looks when we were retrieving. So we left, and thought we'd come back soon when he'd gone. 15 min later, still there. Go and get icecream. Still there. Drive around to other side of park. Still there. Have had cache for 45 mins now. Went for a walk. Came back and he had gone. Only an hour since I took the cache. Replaced quickly and got out of there as more people came. TNLN TFTC.

13-Jul-06
What a rather impressive way to get rid of ugly creeks which have become storm water drains.
Quick find at the end of the walk.
TNLN
Thanks

13-Jul-06
I would like to see more of these stretches of scrubland around Adelaide, certainly much better looking than the stormwater drain! Easy find at the end TNLNSL thanks

[nice day for a walk along a linear park I didn't know was there. after collecting all the hints, my final GZ was apparently 57kms away.. hmmm

once I had the correct GZ coords, found easily - ingenious way to hide something Wink TNLN , THTC ]

Nice park, good hiding spot.

We found this cache in many stages:
1. We found the spot, answered the first two questions, and discovered we didn't have the last questions with us.
2. We went back another day, with the last questions, and answered them, and then went to look for the cache. There were a few muggles around at the final location, so FerretGirl was wandering around pretending to be interested in the plants while surreptitiously sneaking glances at the GPS. While examining the geraniums nearby, a very friendly woman (who owned the fence/house behind the geraniums) came over, and started offering us cuttings. Then she ushered us into her backyard and started breaking off handfuls of different plants with "Oh, just stick this in somewhere, it'll grow like crazy" - we'd never met her before, and hadn't even introduced ourselves! SurprisedCool
So with a handful of plants (but no cache) we headed home.
3. We went back another day, after dark, with a pretty good idea of where the cache should be. We avoided the Enthusiastic Gardener, and logged our find. FINALLY...!!
TN (except a handful of plantlife!) LNSL

21-May-06
A good walk with the dog. Found it eventually. Must have walked around it at least 5 times before bending the knees.

07-May-06
We were going to do this one ages ago, but upon reaching the start, read the notes and saw it was temp unavailable. It's taken us a long time to get back, but now we're glad we've done it. Certainly not your average footpath, but a lot more enjoyable to walk down. All clues found quickly, and we had the cache in hand soon after. Didn't see any shonky types peeking out of nearby windows at us, or not that we saw anyway. Added our name to the list and enjoyed the stroll back to the car. Thanks shonkylogic.

20-Apr-06
What a great walk! I grew up in this area and though I still work nearby had never stopped to look at the nice work done here. TNLNSL Thanks

09-Apr-06
Ahh the name makes sense when you get there !!
Top little tour of a bit of suburbia. Nice to see someone trying to undo the damage. Thouroughly enjoyable stroll to the cache location. [^]

22-Mar-06
Found by JackHenry @ 19:40ish
Did the walk early this afternoon and found the cache after having some dinner in town. Got there with just enough light for the mosquitoes to be able to find their target. Signed Log

Sensational walk along a well established native park in surburbia. There should be more of it. Got a great education along the way. Cache found easily. Cheers!!

19-Feb-06
An enjoyable walk along the linear park to do this multi. Worked out where gz should be but this time the old girl had a boy look and the old boy had to find it. A very nice way of looking after our flora. Stanleys

11-Feb-06
Found by Mary & David at 0850. Last time we were here, there wasn't a cache to be found. This time, we did the revised maths and had immediate success. Our thanks to shonkylogic for replacing the cache and bringing us back to this lovely spot. We are most impressed by what has been done to create this park.

03-Feb-06
Didn't know that was a park... Took Leon's boss along to show them what Geocaching was all about, and they loved it. Since they like gardening, they also enjoyed the park.
No muggles around, so it was an easy find.
Took the 5c coin, left hologram sticker.

23-Jan-06
Found at 9.31pm EST with Jayne Marie. Nice hiding spot but had to use by GPS light to find it.

15-Dec-05
Found on way home from work, with the new set of calculations, as we already had the info, but was no cache last time! Was in and out of the park in about 2 mins.
TNLNSL

Thanks

Cheated by doing a "drive by" this afternoon.

06-Dec-05
Very enjoyable. Now I am a botanist as well as a Geocacher! Muggles were a problem and as a result I needed a second visit in order to secure the cache. Well done shonkylogic!

18-Nov-05
When I looked at the map, I thought “There ain’t no linear park there?!†Was pleasantly surprised to find there was Red Face. Nice urban environmental awareness project. Gathered the clues quickly and walked straight to the cache. TNLNSL. Thanks shonkylogic

15-Nov-05
The container has been replaced. Note: it's now a micro, and in a different position. The formula has been updated accordingly. Happy caching Big Grin

27-Oct-05
Looks like it's gone. I'll put another container out in a few days...

26-Oct-05
We loved the park and all the information signs. However, when we calculated GZ and went cache hunting, we came up empty. Retraced our steps to double-check the numbers, but they were all ok. We then checked our result with dak, who confirmed we were in the right spot. The cache is no longer where he found it. Our thanks to shonkylogic anyway. We will return.

09-Oct-05
Strolled down the linear park to get the clues several weeks ago. Called by GZ today and retrieved Jack Tar travel bug - the old sailor's got his land legs back, but now has itchy feet! Cheers, FeatherWaite.

01-Oct-05
A glorious day for caching, and a nice walk in the park to enjoy it. Left Jack Tar TB. Thanks shonkylogic.

29-Sep-05
Nice stroll on a pleasant day. Lots of interesting info to read. Easy find at GZ with no-one around. Took hairclip and left lion and Klem Bear. Thanks shonkylogic.

25-Sep-05
What a fantastic little park, enjoyed the stroll, even in the rain. Good to see the attempt at recreated the original habitat. Found after a bit of searching at the end. TNLNSL.

24-Sep-05
Found by Fiona, 11 year old muggle friend, whilst visiting for the AFL footy final (Go Swans!). She swapped a reindeer for a badge in the rain, dear.

22-Sep-05
hird of eight finds for my last night in Adelaide. This is a great cache! I wonder how many people appreciate the amount of work that goes into setting up a multi like this? I have never seen a park like this before, and I learnt a lot about the Adelaide Plains and the flora and fauna therein. I passed a likely hiding spot just after I started the walk, so I checked it out. Needless to say, the cache wasn't there; but you can't blame a bloke for trying. Smile

It started raining again as I got last numbers. I decided to retreat to the car to do the substitutions, and I drove to the nearby GZ. It was dark by now, and I failed to see the cache on my first two inspections of the area. However, when I did find it at 1915, it was pretty exposed, so I don't know how I missed it. I covered it better, but I left one corner uncovered to give the next finder a fighting chance. I made no exchange, but grabbed the Key ring TB. Thanks to shonkylogic for an enjoyable cache. (I wondered if you were home, and if you saw me? I was the half-soaked sod in the red jumper! Big Grin)

17-Sep-05
Enjoyed the lovely walk along the trail today, and found out quite a lot of info that I didn't know about the Adelaide Plains. I used to work at Julia Farr, so was familiar with the area ... this is a great alternative to the creek that was here! Thanks for bringing me back.

No swaps made ...

10-Sep-05
What a great walk.
I will have to bring Ms Parrothead back here.
She will love it.
Only a Dad and kid in park so it was easy to retrive cache.
Took the Bandana and left party teeth.

Would have completed this one sooner if I hadnt made a mistake and parrothead hadnt made a mistake, witc combine together produced an interesting result.
TNLN Ni!

Found 10.10am

Live locally & have seen this work going on, could never be bothered stopping on the way to the pub to read the signs. Have now & what an enjoyable read.

Took Nothing left Travel Bug (Gazza the Cairns goldpin)

Thanks Shonkylogic.

Great bit of new urban development, i'm impressed. TNLNSL. Thanks. B

30-Aug-05

A massive storm just started to hit as I located the cache. I wrote the log quickly, secured the notebook then carefully replaced the cache and ran to take cover back in the car. A royal salute Mother Nature.

clear skies soon, TeamAstro.
(I used to live in Wattle in the '60's. Nice to see they have done something nice along here.)

20-Aug-05
Great walk, lovely location. The find was easy just hard to grab without being spotted by muggles. Took back to car to log as a few muggles walking dogs. Put back few minutes later. Took reflective hand left stamp.

18-Aug-05
Third time lucky. None around for once. The searching took 30 secs as the co-ordinates are spot on. It is waiting to get an opportunity that takes time. Very busy park.

Looked around for a gc.com sticker but could not see one. Thanks guys.

15-Aug-05
What a beautiful park. We took the travel bug Piggy and will help him continue his journey - next stop USA. Left a butterfly clip.

14-Aug-05
Very kind of the local council to provide nice front gardens for all the people along this street. A nice stroll along, and surprisingly on a Sunday afternoon found the final point deserted. No swaps, but left Piggy TB to continue his journey. Cheers!

14-Aug-05
The council is to be congratulated. The idea, the effort & the info is brilliant. I probably should've walked it I think it looked a bit odd the whole drive get out read then drive a bit more and repeat the process. GZ took a little while as a muggle walking her dog kept giving me funny looks. TNLNSL. A great cache welldone & thankyou.

13-Aug-05
Got to GZ quick enough but way too busy tonight to make a find. I understand the name now.

12-Aug-05
Great job they have done around here. Wish all suburbs could have work like this done.
Found cache easily and TNLNSL.

11-Aug-05
Found by Skippy with Bruce in tow.
Nice walk after lunch, I said to Bruce i betchya the cache is over there, thats before we had all the clues and i was right, council is really doing this road up now.
Not only i have to beat 4 fun to the caches but setsujoku as well. Twisted .
Took TB LN
Thanks Shonky for a nice easy walk

11-Aug-05
Did this one in conjunction with Rino from Skippy and Lambchops. Enjoyed being out in the truck must of been having withdrawals from life pre retirement. Good walk and we found the cache after a short search. Took reflector and left travel bug. Thanks Shonkylogic.

11-Aug-05
Found at 21:50.
Too late in the day to walk, but I enjoyed the reading.
Nice and easy. Didn't make a swap.

11-Aug-05
Took the slightly lazy option with this one, and drove the car from point to point, since it was such a cold morning. Only took about 15 mins to complete, so a nice easy one to start the day off, and what better way with a FTF. Got the find at 7:45am.

Interesting part of unley that i didnt know was being built.

Didnt see the muggle coming up from somewhere behind me, so im sure he's wondering what the hell i was scrounging around for!!!

Found at 0935 hr after taking the walk option. Must have only just missed Setsujoku?
Lots of muggles around, mostly walking dogs. So waited a little while for an opportunity then swooped. Log & swaps quickly completed and cache returned to its well camoflaged hiding spot no problems.
On my return walk I did notice a local muggle doing a very thorough job of weeding and picking up rubbish just out of range and view of GZ (to the south). So you may need to check this location regularly if she is doing he whole park!
Cheers Shonkylogic, thanks for the pleasant morning walk.
