Spent an extra night here after many hours spent walking the gorge and attempting the other cache. Great location!
We were planning to camp here, but after the dodgy mud holes in the way in, and with another 6mm of rain forecast for tomorrow we decided against it. However, we did really enjoy walking up the gorge and seeing the petroglyphs. Fascinating. Decided the climb to the top of the Mount was beyond our capabilities, but you made us climb anyway!! Great view from the cache. Enjoyed lunch with a mountain view and baby goats entertaining us with their antics. Thanks
Camped nearby we were sitting admiring the stars and I remembered that I'd saved a couple of caches in the area. Firing up the phone I saw that we were only 142 metres from this one. An easy find after breakfast on our way to view the aboriginal petroglyphs in the nearby gorge. Thanks for the placement
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to -Beaker- for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

So we went to the north finding stuff with satelites!! On the great Frog'n'cat adventure of '22...
There might have been some scenic shots. We may have done some 4wding. We did look for boxes in the bush of course !!! Priorities
We were driving down the main road. We had to come in here. We thought about the one at the top but just didn't have the time. This one however was with in our grasp and quickly signed off!
We also enjoyed the views and will be back!
And we found some wildflowers,.. Narapana well worth the trip!
Many thanks to -Beaker- for placing and maintaining this cache on our geo-travel map
---
Up in the donga, searching, spotting and signing cache logs with Purrfect Di, Jack, and the Froghoppin Duo, using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!
*Logs are composed and published with love using GSAK of course.*
---
Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Watch out for sand traps, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and sharp rocks in your tyres
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on
Now that there are no real restrictions - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Heaps good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks so much for reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again !

A new day in the flinders and another days adventure heading from Blinman to Arkaroola with Mattycat and Perfect Di, our lunchtime diversion, a nice track in and many a sturt dessert pea was spotted as a diversion, cache was found after a short search and a little climb

Left Arkaroola this morning, with this being our destination for the day . Passed a crew grading the road, then it was a smooth (and slightly slippery drive) to find some caches along the way .
Having reached the gorge so early, we made our way to GZ before setting up camp for the night [^].
TNLNSL.
Thanks Beaker's Bunch.

After climbing up to the nearby cache and heading down the other side into the actual gorge I wandered back the 1.5km to this cache , taking a seat nearby as bloody muggles were hanging around

You just never know where one of Beaker's caches will turn up.
We came for the art gallery and visited this cache on our way up the gorge. A good road in was a pleasant respite from the previous few days of slow bumpy work. Once at the gorge we were a little disappointed at first with scant rock etchings until we walked further up to OMG look at that!
Found with scouter 101 on our first adventure to central SA.
Thanks Beaker a cache most worthy of a FP

Found it during a road trip in South Australia for Christmas holiday.
Thanks to bring us to this gorge and the very interesting paint at the end of the gorge. We also saw a lot of beautiful green bird flying on the end of a very hot day.
At GZ quick found.
+1 favourite point.

Enjoyed the drive into Chambers Gorge. Coordinates a bit tricky and with some muggles around but found it and enjoyed the view on our way to Arkaroola.

We took the house on wheels to the Flinders with a week at Arkaroola.
A fantastic time was had. Great exploring, brilliant remote scenery, and even a few caches found along the way. We love the diversity of the Flinders Ranges.
We met up with TeamAstro for part of the trip.
We travelled in all the different directions from our campground base at Arkaroola. More than once for some. And we had some great stops along the way to Arkaroola and on the way back south.
We loved this spot. And two caches as well.
And unlike some other cachers who visited the region recently we kept our tyres intact ??

Just love this spot. I didn't remember just how much slate there was here. There's enough for well, to leave it here alone. I think anyone with a slate floor should come here and check out the place. The drive in was stunning today. pic.included.
Thanks to -Beaker- and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
Found it on our oz trip in November 2019 Adelaide - Cameron Corner - Macedon - Mount Gambier - Adelaide. We had a good overnight camp @ Chambers Gorge before heading towards Cameron Corner.

Got this last week. Finally back in town to log it.
I parked at the last sign and walked up to the cache, then to the art canyon, then that was enough. The flies were too much, so many dead animals - goats, roos. It's so dusty dry here, I think it's just tipped these poor critters over their limit.
I guess it's a nice place when there is water, but it's a desperate spot now.

Found at 12:05 by Olga during a week looking around the Flinders Ranges. We stopped here on our way from Arkaroola to Wilpena. A quick find on the little hill. We decided we didn't really have the motivation today to go on to the big hill. Perhaps next visit.
A worthwhile stop to see the rock art too. There were a few dead wallabies to give a bit of ambience.

I was last here in Chambers Gorge around 15 years ago, camping with my family. Of course, I hadn't heard of caching that this particular cache didn't exist yet, but it was good to return as an adult. Driving in, the track was in good condition, easily 2WD, and we saw easily 50+ goats. The climb to the cache was fine and the find was nice and easy. A good place to scope out and plan our approach for the Mt Chambers cache. Thanks Beaker's Bunch for the cache
day 2 of a 5 day trip in to the finders rangers. Camped here for the night in the gorge about 90 meters from the cache. Strolled up to the cache and found it easily. The cache had gone brittle and been eaten, so one side was missing. logbook fine. Walked back a 2nd time and replaced cache and added plastic bag and pencil. Nice views and then went off to look at the aboriginal art work in the gorge.
Camped here overnight. Fantastic spot, lovely views. Walked to this one from our campsite with Tweety2, Redmond, & Bear&Bell. TFTC!
Found on Fatboys 4x4 Easter trip 2017 with caching friends; Redmond, Tweety2 & Martini989. TFTC
A great spot for lunch on my way north to Arkaroola. Would make a nice camp. Thanks Breakers Bunch.
After three nights camping at Arkaroola, we were now heading for Blinman. Chambers Gorge was our planned stop along the way, as so many people have told us it is a wonderful place to visit. There are also two caches hidden that we were very keen on earning a smiley for This was a quick find after a short walk from where we parked. Sadly the container is becoming brittle and we did not have another on hand to replace it with... would be great if the next cacher could be more prepared with a replacement Signed log and carefully replaced. Now for the more challenging find....

We are heading across to the Flinders Ranges on a 2 week sojourn. We don't intend to do a lot of caching but will try and pick up a few along the way.
After 3 nights at Wilpena Pound it was time to head off to Arkoola, they tell us the road will be fine for a 4wd and a camper trailer. A mystical eerie place that we had to ourselves for a short while - then lots of people started to arrive and set up camp.

It was a little rough coming in and we crossed running water twice, and passed several other day visitors. We found the cache at the end of our travels, as well as our camp for the night:-) We wandered along the creek bed checking out the waterholes, and sat and listened to the water running. While setting up camp a hiker headed past for some aboriginal rock carvings (which we didn't know were here). A great spot. Terrific for camping, but surprised by the number of visitors to the park. Found this on our trip thru rhe flinders ranges. Bloody hot day and no water in gorge which was expected for this time of year. Lovely spot all the same.
If your planning on looking for this geocache Take a pencil to leave there. We couldn't write in log as pen didn't work.
No water here this year. Lots of goats though !!! Like the hide.

This was a lot easier than the one up on the hill. It was getting quite late when our weary feet were forced up here for a speedy find. not sure about the high terrain rating, it should have been more like a 2.5 tops. Anyway, thanks for taking us here for a different view of the hill. TFTC!!!
Had just attempted the nearby cache crossing the ridge to the "goat track"and had decided it was to hot.. Thankfully there is an easy one close by to compensate. Good to leave with 1 cache in hand. TFTC
This was not our first visit to Chambers Gorge but it was our first since we started caching. Each time we have come we have wished we had more time to explore the area so we will probably be back again. Sadly there were more goats than any other wildlife today.
Thank for the cache Beakers

haven't been here in nearly 20 years but it was looking great today. Sturt's Desert Pea, water in the creek, bird life and stunning views. Heaven.
thanks for the cache Beakers Bunch.
thanks for the cache Beakers Bunch.
Really nice area especially in the morning when it is not too hot and all the animals are out. We saw lots of budgies and emus while driving to this one. Thanks Beakers Bunch for the cache.
I always enjoy this area - one of the biggest and best rock art sites in the Flinders Ranges, beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife (love the painted dragons). This visit was no exception, with plenty of water around and loads of birds. Thanks Beakers Bunch for the cache.
Found and signed on our trip north. The sturt pea on the hillsides were ablaze. Thanks.
Found by eTrix kids at 15:00, after lunch and a rest at the idyllic site nearby and waiting for some earlier people we thought might be cache hunters to head away. Maybe they were just taking photos. Took a pedometer and left a Teetulpa Station sheep tag from our previous find.
We were there at the perfect time to get great photos of Mt Chambers in the orange glow just before sunset.
Spent the night by the flowing creek. No wind, camp fire and fantasitc stars.
Bit a walk up the hill but not that bad. Easier than the 4 stars.

Our campsite for the night.
Set up the tent a couple hundred metres from the cache.
We thought it was going to rain but the clouds all blew away.
A lovely spot in the morning sitting on the edge of the dry river eating breakfast looking at the Mount.

Arriving at the campsite with a mission to climb Mt Chambers, this one was an easy warm-up to the next days frenzy. Found as a group with all the others. No swaps. Cheers Beaker .
Twelfth for the extra long weekend trip to the Gammon Ranges.
The trouble with group caching is you don't necessarily get to every cache. Even though the rest of the group had been and done this one we did it by torchlight.
just for practice.

Found this one after climbing the Mount for the other one! Saw some feral goats running around down here, fairly dry at the moment, was here in 2003 when there was pools of water to swim in! Back to camp for lunch, then off to Blinman and the Flinders national park for more caches! TFTC
Camped near here for the night. An easy find and now to plan for tomorrows ascent to the Mount.

Amazing that we made it to this one at all! Car conked out about halfway between Blinman and the gorge, a result of what we correctly surmised was the death of the Subaru's alternator. Left the car on the road and squeezed into the other two cars of our group, and made it the rest of the way with no trouble. Found while the rest of the group prepared to climb Mt Chambers itself. Cache in good nick and well hidden. Took nothing and left cache kit. With the help of a friends Landcruiser, we were painstakingly towed back to Blinman (about 30km), in the dust and late afternoon light in our eyes, just reaching Blinman on sunset. With the help of Irving (local who lives at the post office in Blinman with a battery charger), the ever helpful Teagues at Hawker, a re-charge at Crystal Brook and a battery bought at Pt Wakefield, we made it back to Adelaide without having to get the RAA to rescue us. Curtailed the rest of our caching plans for the weekend though! A fitting location to end our caching for the weekend though, thanks Beaker.
Wooohooo....finally a FTF in SA
Found at 1044, though the temperature has dropped to a very pleasant 29c, due to rain in the area (if you call that rain).
Nice drive in, though the first part of the track has a massive amount of corrugations in the road. We loved the driving through the river bed and spotted many a emu, kangaroo, goats and the odd cattle or two.
Cache was eay to find, in a well hidden area. Views from here are spectacular. Spent some time exploring the gorge and enjoying the cooler temperature today.
Thanks for the opportunity to get a virgin cache and check out a great area off the beaten track.
