Like previous searchers, this one now sits in an area marked as 'no access' so had to pass it up. Since the death of people at Remarkable Rocks I guess those responsible for these locations are increasing the safety zones.

Smile Did not attempt this cache, no access, but worth the Trip for the Views of KI..Spotted our Third Tiger Snake Today...Cheers from diggers09

25-Aug-10
Didn't attempt this one in the end as the GZ area has been blocked off with "no access" signs. Probably time to move the cache to a location that can be accessed without "crossing the line".

06-Jul-10
This one looked interesting but we decided not to venture in. After looking around we could not find an alternative path in? The path which I am sure most cachers would have taken is clearly posted with no access signs posted by the SA Govt?? I have attached photos of the path in. might be worth a look at whether this may need a move or posting some additional points to lead the way in without having to cross the no access points.

Found easily in the bright sunshine. It is a bit geokid unfriendly right next to the GZ but it is worth the walk for the view into the cauldren. Took "Girl" badge and left a "Pooh Bear". TFTC Lead 'n Lace.

Nice weather today. No sprays from the cauldron. Beautiful view with aquamarine sea on one side and deep blue on th other side of the light house. Tnlnsl. Tftc

Great location. Lucky for us it was a calm day. We stayed at the Dragon's Den Lodge 1 km away, which is highly recommended. TFTC. TNLN

Team Unicycle should have delayed his find by a day...because I was here during wild weather. It wasn't that fun with the cold winds wiping but the seas were neat to see. Large crashing. Glad to find the cache fairly quickly because the conditions were tough to be out in. Got to see the sun rise from here...but only briefly through the clouds. I car-camped nearby and got to see a lot of Kangaroos overnight near the cape.

Found at 12:00 with Olga
I really liked this spot. We didn't bother going to the lighthouse, but this spot was better. I'd love to see it during wild weather.

Great spot. Thanks. Wasn't sure if we were supposed to be there but decided it was OK in the end.
Cheers

Found this after a walk around the light house. Nice spot and a not so bad winery on the way back as well TFTC Greg.

I felt a little bit naughty climbing over the fence to find the cache. This one is definitely not one for the faint hearted. We cautiously searched closer and closer to the edge until finally the cache was found.

TFTC!

What a great cache. We really enjoyed the stroll and the views. Thanks for bringing out to the east end of the island. We strolled on as far as we could. About another 100m. Spectacular. The water was cool clear and inviting. Next stop Antartica.

Yeah - that's KI successfully cached out!
Another rough drive, but much shorter than Cape Borda. Interesting tour of lighthouse - gee they were so clever back then: fancing arriving with nothing and making this lighthouse over 18 months. Climb to top worthwhile, although coastal views good also from groundlevel. A short adventure to find cache - gps was quite wacky, but eventually got me close enough. Big drop though! Left a crab and took a penguin. TFTC

Last one for our trip to KI. Have seen nearly every attraction in our 8 day stay. Covered plenty of kilometres and have found all the KI caches. Woo Hoo. Did the 3 PM lighthouse tour and then went to find cache before heading off to catch the 5:30PM ferry back to the mainland. Badge and pencils in and frog out. TFTC

This a wonderful cache location in an exciting spot! We did not know the gorge was called the Devil's Kitchen, but that seems to fit.
We were rather early in the morning, and did not see anyone else; too early to tour the lighthouse.
We logged, took a smile magnet and left a little penquin figure. The B-2 Bomber TB did a touch-and-go.
It is very fast, and the mission is top secret...
This was our last KI cache, on a wonderful camping vacation from Alaska.

Didn't have the recent logs to see it had been found in the last couple of day, but doing a tour of the gardens found I'd need to jump a fence to go and find it, so didn't bother (and didn't wont to upset the wife eitherWink).
Enjoyed the walking trails instead that are located to the North. Perhaps the cache placement may be better along the trails to appease the park rangers mentioned in an earlier log.
Wonder if the road out will be fully bituminised one day[?]

Enjoyed the lighthouse tour with the guide with the scottish accent, nice day, found cache with a huge centipede under it!

04-Oct-09
Found this one ok however it was well waterlogged. Unfortunately most of the log entries written in pen have run and are unreadable. We took the cache back to the car and dried out as best we could and placed new pencil, ziploc bag and notebook. The problem seems to be when the lid of the container is overtightened it tends to cross thread - also it would be a good idea to place container with lid facing upwards rather than the other way round. TFTC

03-Oct-09
As we are currently in WA caching, can the next visitor please dry out the container, replace the log and re hide. It shouldn't have a rock on it so cache creep has occurred.
Thanks,
Lead 'n Lace.

01-Oct-09
Arrived too late for the tour so when to find the cache, easy find but in very poor state the rock was to heavy and distorted the container so the water got in an is very wet didn't have time to dry it out.

Visited this area but didn't find cache as we had not brought the info with us. Park rangers muttering about people looking for it, and how no-one should leave anything in a national park or take anything from it....!

20th and last cache on KI - we only missed one.... Nice lighthouse! Cache was a pretty quick find.

found after a bit of a hunt around (there must be something amiss with our West Australian GPS as nearly all geocaches in South Australia and Victoria are 6-10m from GZ !!)

No sooner had we pulled up near the style than the bloke whipper snippering the weeds asked us to move! Well it said bus park.... There was no one around.. so he walked quickly over to us and said we were blocking emergency service vehicles! What[?] Well, since he was brush cutting on a total fire ban day, they well may have been needed Big Grin

The chasm was awesome[pic], though it was calmish as we had just sailed down and it was smooth all the way, including Backstairs Passage. GZ worked for me after 2 minutes [^]

Clear skies and our thanx to Lead 'n Lace from TeamAstro.

On holidays with Klems Mob + Muggle Couple. This views here are rather good. TNLN.

08-Nov-08
On holiday with Briben so decided to visit this one. Very windy but an easy find. Left a Klem Bear. Regarding a previous log, we are sure the cache owner is only advising of danger if there are geokids around. It is perfectly safe to do this if you are a responsible geocacher.

05-Oct-08
Found while on the 2008 Bicycle SA Annual Tour. Todays ride was from Penneshaw to American River via the Cape.

Beautiful day for a visit to this neck of the woods.

Visited with a number of TB's to collect the miles.

We could see where this one would be but were unsure of whether to jump the fence or not to investigate further, given the various warnings not to stray too close to the edge of the cliff. Decided against it in the end and moved on to other nice spots in this area.

16-Sep-08
As luck would have it my work brought me within a few metres of this cache and I'm sure my boss wouldn't mind me stretching my legs and doing a quick, seeing as he and his wife are the cache owners! LOL. A beaut spring day with a nice strong surge coming into Devil's Kitchen. TFTC.

The rain started as soon as we arrived on the island earlier this day. Drove to the lighthouse anyway hoping the weather would clear, after waiting 15 minutes with no clearing we decided to leave and come back later to get 10 minutes down the road and the rain to stop, so turn around and back again. Did the lighthouse tour while the weather was dry, and then a quick stop to the cache as the rain started again.
Was a pity that we couldn't see the views - the rain clouds were too low.

06-Sep-07
Another great location to visit.

05-Jun-07
Had two attempts at this one after doing the lighthouse tour. First time, I was nearly there when it started pouring with rain!! Being a cold and windy day, we shot off for lunch to dry out. I then went back with the sun shining (bizarre weather) and found it easily.

TNLN. Thanks.

PS. The 3 cheese garlic bread at the winery is great!

Easy find on a cold and windy afternoon. There were muggles at the lighthouse and nearby winery, but we had the most fun!

Our last cache on the Island. Stunning views although the sun was still not showing.

TNLN,
Thanks for the cache and greetings from the Netherlands

17-Mar-07
Found with Datto, and Datto-and-FerretBoy's mum and dad on a family weekend on the island. Parents were a bit worried about how far down the cliff we were heading, but the coordinates were spot on. Wouldn't have wanted to get too close to the edge of that view!

TNLNSL. Good spot.

That was a very nice place. We dropped Risous Shark GC in the Cache.

Thanks for the Cache and greetings from Germany!

Horrible access road but anyway, it was absolutely worth to go there. We enjoyed the hugh waves and the environment.
Thanks for this one!

Our trip to KI was great despite a cold that wouldnt quit which also infected other travellers. Went to this site but didnt think to turn on GPS!! Wally . Will use this cache as an excuse to visit KI again!!

Lambchops took every opportunity she could to grab a cache while on a girl’s weekend in KI.
The girls got excited each time I told them we could find treasure at the spot we were heading. Only one of girls would join me this time as the description said take great care retrieving the cache but they certainly missed out on a great view.
Weather was perfect and so were the views so took some pics for the girls to see.
Took electrically tape and left skippy.
Thanks Lead ’n Lace.

MasterXCMTB, Chloe Chloe and I really enjoyed this find. What a great place for a cache, but we didn't dare venture too close to the edge! We had lunch at GZ and enjoyed the wonderful views in this great part of Australia.

We decided to drop into look at Cape Willoughby Light on our way to the ferry. We didn't have enough time to look for a cache but had the trusty Garmin along just in case. We were glad we did, we would have missed an outstanding sight without the cache. Thanks Lead 'n Lace.

No flies today, too much wind.

a great location for my 100th cache. did the tour and had a good idea where it would be thanks for bringing me here.

Must agree with Alex about the flies. Wink Male Trekker responsible for this find along with R4R - TNLN. Views were amazing. No flies at top of lighthouse - wind too strong.
Thanks for cache.

Found it....but beaten to a first to find by Mapman and two days. Great views back to the lighthouse. Wonderful place to sit, stare over the southern ocean, contemplate life...and swoosh the flies. TNLNSL. Cheers Rav 4 Raiders

26-Dec-05
Pete, Fay, Noleen and I battled the flies as we wandered in search for this after a pleasant lunch at Dudley. The ladies stopped to chat (as they do!) while we carried on through the swarms of flies to discover the treasure.

Yahoo! My first virgin for ages and ages. GZ was spot on by both our GPS (Meridian Gold & Sportrak). I took a gold fly - that's one less! and left a lucky japanese frog to eat some flies.

Thanks Lead n' Lace for the great views. Shame about the flies.
