The container had definately seen better days
Time for this cache to retire I think.

This was our 2nd of 5 finds today - and we found it at around 12:50.
(So this is our 4224th total find.)
A nice easy park-n-grab cache.
We had to do some maintenance as the container is suffering from UV exposure, and the contents were wet.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks four-fun for the hunt today.

12 out of 20. This one was unusual for us today, we had a job to do in the area and were really only going for straight caches as we didn't know how much time we would have. This one didn't take to much maths and was close enough, so off down the rattle road we went. Easy find after the maths and a bit of which way is up and which is not.

Found with Jip and Janneke. I mixed up longitude and latitude once and we spent several hours 'lost' in Glenelg. We didn't have time for that today and so I needed extra reassurance that we had it correct.
We did. Thank you. We like these kind of multis.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why you would start a town up with the name Rat in it!

Unusual name, interesting history and rocky drive. Nice views from there too. Thanks.
Found on another excellent day for caching on the peninsula. I think that Mt Rat is an appropriate name for a hillock like this! Thanks to four-fun for the cache.
After a very bumpy drive with Mollypix this one was found. Great views on the way back down! TFTC
We were one tire down after a flat so Rob had to tread carefully now with his driving.
Cache found after a short drive.
Thanks

When I first had a look at this cache, I thought it must be a walk up Mount Rat. I was quite looking forward to it. I figured it wouldn't be very high, as it is so flat around here.
Didn't realise, until I read the sign, that that was just the name of the place.
Some interesting history all the same.
Thanks, Robmc.

The walk is the easy part. Have you ever actually driven there? (or did you come in via helicopter?)
Once you have endured driving up that track you derserve to have the cache handed to you!!!
Terrain rating of 1 suggests you can drive past on a bituman road and have the cache within 5 steps of your door!
I wounldn't say it needs a terrain rating of 4 or 5 but it should be a least 2

Found It!
No ones found this one in ages
I thought I did something worng when the GPS said 1km to go after entering the final coords.
But the cache was there. The terrain rating should be a bit higher.

Increase the terrain rating, you are joking aren't you!
You can park within 5m of GZ and you need to cross a flat roadside verge!
Any easier and someone will have to stand there and hand you the logbook as you drive up

Found by Mrs 4evermore. Had an idea which direction final location might be in and was right. Had cache in hand quickly. No swaps. Thanks for the hide four-fun.
Found by Mary & David at 1530. It's still there. We enjoy historical markers and information, so this was a real pleasure. Our thanks of course to four-fun.
Had a good look for this one in two different locations and we hadn't been the first judging by the marks in both areas, ended with a failed to find. Thanks for placing the cache anyway.
Another one we found while on our big heart of Yorke weekend.
We didn't smell a rat with our calculations and soon had the cache in hand. A nice rocky road which we were grateful for in our 2wd geomobile on this boggy weekend.

You wouldn't even know that anything used to even exist here! So much history, but only a piece of wood to show for it. Scary.

Aaaah, I just got near perfect marks in year 12 maths studies and specialist, yet I'm still stuffing this cache up, I wonder If i'll ever get it
Interesting historical marker. Noted that people were moving out of this area in the 1850's because of lack of water. Did the maths and off to GZ - co ordsspot on.

Stopped to find this quick multi on the way home from Pt Turton after a weekend with the Burgundy Brigade.
Now this was a challenge that shouldn't have been after I screwed up the maths, but got there in the end a lot easier that I thought given the name I was preparing for a climb and in the end the only climb was out of the 4WD, my kinda mountain
Thanx four-fun for the cache and a great weekend

Was here again with C3 (Copper Coast Cachers) on our "Kick the Foot" geocaching day.
Found this cache with C3(copper Coast Cachers) while attempting to get to as many caches as possible up and down the leg. We left home at 4:45am and got home about 10:45pm! Myslef, goingtheredoingthat and Delta Echo were the 'oldies' in the group, plus some 'newbies' - Slasher, Dragon, Bula and Jimbo

Found the cache at 4.40pm. Love your multi so simple - enjoyed it so much. SL. Thanks four-fun for organising the cache and hunt.
A simple multi which we quite enjoyed, especially the view at the cache site. We've had this one in our folder for quite a while so were pleased to finally do something about it. Thanks four fun
We visited this cache with Crane2 earlier this month but now we have our own GPS so thought we'd show Dad Grom just how it works. Bob Grom also came along for the ride. A quick find by Grom 2. Enjoyed the view at sunset.
Great cache. We were surprised (and delighted) to find it as we were not sure about our maths cals.

Took my YP friends out for their first caching experience, but was a bit wary of doing a maths one! Struggled at first, but on third attempt found quickly - we needed to use our maths brain trust and the correct digits! Our first YP cache find. Took 2 frogs and left Customs keyring and a wrist band. Great start to 2008.

Went off to nab this cache with Hittin the Road after they stumbled across our campsite - had my fingers firmly crossed hoping I hadn't stuffed up the calcs for them, but we had no dramas and the cache was quickly in hand - TFTC
On our way back to Pine Point. Staying at this location for a weeks holiday. Wackys decided to come along with us as they had also not found this one. Success after calculation the new co-ordinates (wackys did the calculations)

Thanks for the cache, four-fun.

Did the maths and came up a winner the first place I looked.
Spent more time on working it out than finding it.
Amazing it has all vanished. Enjoyed the history lesson.

Why oh why did they knock that building down? Anyway made it to Mt Rat on the first day of Spring, great views of the peninsula. TNLN
An easy find once the correct coords were input into the GPS . A typo on the first set input had us in the Simpson Desert! Mind you, we wouldn't object to another desert run. Took a watch and left a necklace. Thanks four-fun.
Took a wrong road but didn't go far before being on the right track.
What a windy spot! Perhaps a wind farm could be put here.
Took a staple remover, (something I need) and left a yoyo.
Thanks

It all seemed fairly easy, and from the look of the other logs I ended up in the right spot. But no container could be found despite about 15 minutes searching. A call to the Skippy helpline didn't help me find it so I had to have this as my no find for the weekend. Thanks for the history visit anyway.
Another quick find on our way back home. Glad there was room to turn the car around as we were towing the van (a small van).
9th of 11 finds whilst on holidays.
Had to do this as daughter just loves rats!
Took wrong turn down the sealed road, before realising that we weren't really getting closer . Found correct location after a very bumpy ride in the sedan.
Enjoyed the views whilst logging the cache.
Took MFS Patch
Left Cat.

Found easily... you had to be there but... chatting to abowie on mobile at GZ when a TWISTER blew through [B)]. touched down on field 100 metres away and went along for about 200 metres and was about 60 metres high, only 5 metres wide. was awesome. only lasted long enough to scream and shout and point then it was gone. The day was bright and warm too! tftc
We could imagine what this intersection could have been like. Sad that such nice buildings are no longer there. We would have stopped for refreshment break at the pub 4 shore. Nice multi. Took Mouse Left Cat
Wondered about the final location until we noticed the view. Yep, is high ground..just.
Found 10:40. 2nd of 12 FFTD as we circumnavigate the Yorke. Questioned our calculations until we came up trumps with cache in hand. TNLNSL. TFTC.
hard to imagine that this was the location of a bustling town community. Took finger puppet. Left foam stickers. Dropped in Ringlein TB to travel more of rural SA. Thanks for an intersting cache and nice story
"On top of the world!" Took NSW SES badge, left staple-remover. Thanks four-fun.
Found it really easy,

We were allowing much more time than we needed to do this four-fun multi cache. We only got out of the car once, but must admit, the decoy hiding spot sucked us in. Still, we found the cache without much fuss. This cache was logged by "Dad's Army" on the 2nd of July, they left a Travel Bug, but haven't yet logged online. Took Tommy Pokemon, left finger puppet. Picked up the TB Little Miss Trouble. Thanks four-fun for the fun easy cache.
Mrs Pike and Captn Mainwaring were away with out the rest of the Platoon this weekend. Found this cache on Sunday and left Miss Trouble TB here to complete her travels. We tried to find Clems Victoria view as well but nearly got the butchers van bogged. And felt that we were on aborigional land need more directions to find it properly took koala

What (would have been) an interesting place to visit, pity there is nothing left of it. Can’t believe they demolished what looked to be a great old pub for a #@%$* Barley Stacking Site!!
Found without any trouble. While looking for cache, heard bleating in the nearby paddock. Auzee went to investigate and she came back with a 1-2 day old lamb in tow – very malnourished, with not another sheep in sight for miles. Bundled the poor little waif (that we had christened SHAWN ) into the car and headed for the nearest farmhouse and handed him over to them for safe keeping – guess it was his lucky day! From the cache we took a Buddha keyring and left red bouncy ball.

A quick maths study and some fun with the Sube on the roughest road I had seen all day. Impressive views from the final GZ. Must be a fabulous scene when all of the barley is in place.
I think that we were the third to find it today. A nice diversion. Left Koala And a Klem Bear. Took Frog. Thanks Four-fun
good multi very interesting history in an unlikely spot.took book clip left 4 balloons
A quick cache .........just as well as weather is changing! TNLNSL. Thanks four-fun nice bit of history!
A quick little multi. If only they were all like that. Grabbedthe details from the sign and headed to the final location. After searching in the two obvious spots we found the cache and signed the log. Was getting late so must head back to the real world.
Found on way to Moonta for the day, retrieved between the huge downpours, after being 40+ on Australia Day!
Left another patch, took Frog TB for a drive.
Checked in and out 'Beaver's Australian Adventure' TB

Found the cache easily. A very informative history of Mt Rat was an enjoyable read. Must have been a thriving community once. Like many of these spots, the invention of the car made these places wither.
Took flash light, left Bee Bookmark and Freddo's Hip Hopper TB.
Many thanx again four-fun. Clear skies, TeamAstro.
FTF despite this being our second attempt (with AAT and TJOT) using geomath rather than BODMAS. Had to wait a while for about 500 four legged wooly muggles to cross the road. Took ball, left teaspoon and earplugs. Thanks Four-fun
