After 10 years, this series will be consigned to the history books. Over the next month or so as I get around to all the caches and pick them up, freeing up these pretty locations for some new caches

Got here around 7:30am when only the sparrow flatulate, after driving through some amazing fog lying low in the valley. Used the better parking spot just up the road as others have done, and walked back down to the gate. Had a quiet climb up the rather steep trail to the summit and experienced just a small amount of difficulty projecting the coordinate, but only because I tried to do it from memory (always a dodgy plan) and got the distance wrong by 100%. Rechecking the instructions fixed that.
Once found, I returned to the WP and marvelled at the early morning views from the aptly named peak.
Thanks for the cache, FF

Arrived at GZ and decided I couldn't park here as some roadwork had formed an edge to the parking spot, it was drizzling and I had a 2WD. I continued about 100m further along the road and found a much larger and safer parking spot. I parked, waited for a heavy shower to pass, then donned waterproof gear and walked back to GZ and up the hill. At the top I locked in the offset on my GPS.
Then a young couple I had seen earlier at the other nearby cache arrived. We chatted and I explained I was after a geocache. They were also geocachers but were now more interested in a game called Ingress. We found the geocache and signed the log book, I found out more about Ingress then we went our separate ways.
I enjoyed the cache, it ticked a lot of boxes for me - great area, nice views, rural and uncrowded, some exercise and the offset added extra richness to the cache experience. A fav from me! TFTC four-fun.

From LP#7 to LP#8. Slightly more leg work involved here. Mt Magnificent is certainly not named after the walk up. Noticed the Heysen Trail came up to the top, nasty. The Heysen105 Ultramarathon was being run yesterday so there would have been a few fresh footsteps on this hill in the last 36 hours.
The survey marker stands proud aloft the hill but now appears to have been taken over by pirates. Very decorative. TFTC four-fun.

The view was fantastic today and I even still had some breath to enjoy it while slacker Mrs Irac- sat in the car.
Can you believe it? "I don't feel to good"
Actually she was a bit crook so had to enjoy it myself.

Found today with Schatzsuche on a slow caching trip home after a few days relaxing in Port Elliot. Well, well, well worth the trek to the top. Magnificent views.

My first ever Lofty Peaks Cache... WOW !!! The 360 degree views were awesome. Steep hike up the hill but not far from the car. I have never been up this way before and loved the views back down to the coast.
Highly recommended cache for people wanting to get the heart rate up.
Took TB as well as the clues.
We will be doing more of this series soon!

We happened to be walking up here today, and FerretBoy said "I reckon there's a cache around here somewhere", but we didn't have the coordinates with us. FerretGirl denied all memory of any such thing, but he found the cache, and we dropped off a TB we'd picked up in England. (Much warmer today than when we last found the cache, in July 2007!)

A nice walk up the hill which was needed after just finishing some lunch. Another in the series for me. Found without to much of a hunt. TFTC
Another in the series done. A wet day but still only a t-shirt after a hot unfit walk to the top.
Cheers from the Posspet Boys

I like these sort of caches, the best sort. An easy multi with a nice walk to the cache, and a bonus view. I wish all caches were nearly as good as this. Thanks Mr Four Fun, one day I'll finish the series.
Nice easy multi, which was good. I thought that I was fit but the walk out had me puffing. It was worth it in the end. Magnificent views.
Thanks four-fun for the cache.
Thanks four-fun for the cache.
It took two reads of the cache description to work out what, where and when for this cache.
The climb up the hill was rewarded by some great views, however it was very windy and threatening rain during my time here.

It sure is a lofty peak. I could see for miles in all directions. Magnificent day for caching = sunny with a nice cooling breeze. Took geo-dog, Amy the greyhound. She didn't mind the way up, but grass was a bit slippy on the way down for her liking. TFTC
Breathless view so beauty... Worth to visit the Trig.... I make some mistake compass but finally found the cache. SL. Thanks Four-Fun for organising the cache and hunt.
Magnificent views from the top today. Great day to be out caching with Jimmy01. Thanks four-fun
15th find of the day and 1886th total find at 15:45.
It's not often that we get to go caching this far from home, but as we are both very fortunate to have a couple of weeks off - - -. By good planning or design this cache was on our list.
A lot steeper than it looks from the bottom. ur calves burned on the way up, and knees ached on the way down.
Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver
Thanks four-fun for the cache.

Found with Bek-The Raccoon on our massive New years caching ytip, what a fantastic view, TFTC!
A very satisfying 200th find. We sat and admired the views as the log was filled out.

An offset! Always fun to do I find. A sharper ridge than I expected but nice views and the cache was an easy find. thanks four-fun.
Glad I did this on a dry day - it was slippery enough going up as it was... I dead reckoned the projection, and found the cache right where I'd guessed it would be . Cache had a bit of water in it, which is surprising as the seal seemd okay. I think you need to send it back to sistema and complain. I dried out the contents but discarded a soggy kangaroo that had soaked up most of the water. At least the views from GZ were worth the climb up.
TNLN but the clue...

Found this cache with froghoppin and have since created my own team name and currently logging previous finds after discussions with other cachers at a recent event TFTC
Hence the word magnificent what a fantastic view. Picked this one up whilst walking the Heysen trail. TFTC and sore leg muscles TNLN
Finally, I was so close last time. I could have thrown a rock underarm and hit it.
Oh well it was a nice day to wander up the hill again. Sat at the top and had a drink and enjoyed the view.
That's it Done.

Pulled up at posted coordinates and poked around looking for a cache. Decided to read the cache notes. Stomped up the required 250 metres and searched amongst the rocks. Opted to read the cache notes. Found cache eventually - sometimes it pays to read ALL the way to the bottom of the page! Took torch keyring, left flying fox. Thanks four-fun.
A big day out and second DNF. (24 finds)
After 8 pm when I wondered up the hill but no joy for me trying to calculate a GZ.
Tried where I thought my calculation had it but it had been a big day so I have left it for another day.

Note to self: reall *all* instructions, especially those that say walk 50m away *before* looking in the rocks. No swap.

Only 250m to the top - you didn't mention that half of it was straight up! The ground was wet and slippery too and I was wearing the wrong footwear for the terrain.
The climb was worth it and there was a nice view when we got there and an easy find.

Let us set the scene: raining, bitterly cold, winds that felt like 100km/h, foggy, dirt road, out of the way. And as we head towards the cache, we meet another family coming the other way, who tell us the trig point is just up there, and the views are fabulous. So we find the cache, fully expecting to see a log from these people - but no, nothing! What kind of weirdos go hiking in caching-only weather?!?!?!

Found on a cold but starry night at about 11:44pm.
Yay, that's the last of the clue caches, now onto the final one.
This night gave one of the best views of the Milky Way I can ever remember. The sky was clear and cold with no shimmering at all and the various dust clouds were clearly visible amongst the very milky galaxy. If it was warmer I would stayed a while but hypothermia was setting in.

Lots of driving to get to this one on our mad Lofty Peaks Saturday extravaganza.
Had to park the family hatch up the road a bit - wasn't sure about getting out of your parking spot with all the dry grass.
After a steep climb, we were greeted with a truly remarkable view.
Made our way down to the cache, found by geomum.
Used the natural stone writing table to log our find.
Took gold key ring and rose.
Left mini bible and wire puzzle.
SL.
Once more, thanks Four-fun.

Wow, what an awesome view. Picked this one up on a hike with some fellow Rovers. Glad we dumped our packs at the bottom before getting this one though.
Definitely what caching is about. A lofty spot. A trig point. A view of hills and the beautiful coast in the distance. Did the phone cam pics do it justice [?] (1/2 way up realized I left the real camera back in the car – too bad!).
Thanks for this Mr Fun.
Over six months since the last find, gee at this rate it will take me about three years to complete the set. Great views - this was once on my 'must put a cache there' list.
Thanks four-fun.
Thanks four-fun.
Found by Mary & David at 0920. Puff, puff. Only 250m, but the last part gets a bit steep for these old legs, and a bit slippery with the overnight dew on the ground. Still, the views at the top were worth the effort to get there. These caches are always more enjoyable when we've met the owner. TNLN. Our thanks to four-fun.
This was no. 4 for the saturday out. Left the platoon at the bottom in the butchers van they said it was too cold and windy. I was realy puffing by the time I got to the top and I wished I had bought the normal compass to do the bearing as I am still not sure of all the functions on my GPS. Worked it out and found the cache filled in the log

Found without too much trouble.

more luck than good management allowed me to find this one b4 kggy only because I fluked it and approximately guessed the angle right Was on the phone to mrs voogs when I stumbled on it so in some strange w3ay she found it too [:X] TN Left Voogoofish Badge SL. cheers for making my legs ache.
Forgot just how steep that hill was! Still, the view was as i remembered. One down, eight to go.

Great views from up here. By the time I had put the projected point in the GPSr Voogoofish had found it. No swaps just another clue. Thanks four-fun for the exercise
Found by Barry and Beryl with young Neighbours at 10.00 am, Nice day to climb the hill or should I say mountain it was an easy find once we got to the trig point.
Took Geocoin "Ghosts of caching past" padlock, frog and gel pen, left Australian key ring, pen and Emu
Thanks for the view and the exercise Four-Fun

Got ourselves a bit confused with the description that the post is where the trig point used to be. Did you mean that they moved it 1 metre? I was hoping that we didn’t need to be that accurate! (Eventually concluded that the thing must have been replaced since four-fun researched the cache ). Plugged in the projected measurements and traipsed off to the cache, which was surprisingly easy to find. Spent a good 10 minutes admiring the views, and regretted that we had left the thermos back at the car. Would have loved to have spent a while contemplating my navel while sipping a coffee up here. Great spot four-fun. Only two to go now Took nothing and left a Geo Coin.
Found on our way down to the coast. A mountain we've climbed a few times before, once from the other side (not so easy). TNLNSL.
We would have found this one a lot quicker if we hadn't taken so long to work out that we were reading the clues for LP #6 .
Eventually reason triumphed over stupidity and the cache was to hand. Someone seems to have put the trig point back.
TNLNSL.
Found with abowie after reading the correct instructions - couldn't find the "broken off bit" here - Doh. TNLNTFTC
This was a tough walk up here. Freddo walked up here as if he was walking on flat ground.
I was the last one up and the first one down
Took nothing and Left kangaroo
Thanks 4 fun

Must be mountain goats around here. I reviewed the cache at home and worked the maths before going out. Went straight to GZ. More or less. Co-ordinates spot on. To the meter.
This cache is going to be double the fun in the wet.
This cache is going to be double the fun in the wet.
Fifth of eighteen finds on my last night in Adelaide, in the company of Freddo and Skippy&Lambchops. I might have known that a cache with 'peaks' in the name 'trig marker' in the description would involve a walk up a hill. Freddo took the lead, with Skippy and me puffing along n his wake. [xx(] We attained the summit and set off to GZ. Freddo had already found it by the time we got there, so it was an easy find at 1940. We negotiated the downhill trek without incident, but we had to tread carefully; I hate to do this one in the wet! I made no exchange. Thanks to four-fun for the cache.
After having done Bridgey Hole earlier in the day, I'm sure these two caches have their terrain rating the wrong way around Nearly didn't attempt this after finding we had to do a magnetic projection, which our lil' yeller Etrex baulks at. But at a distance of only 50m, we thought we could nail it easy enough. The climb wasn't as hard as it first looked, the descent be slightly more perilous with all the slippery leaves. Miss J made like the trig marker and fell over, but apart from that we both enjoyed the challenge. TNLNSL. Thanks four-fun.
Second to find this one after a steep climb.Could have only missed the previous cachers by a short time. I would hate to do this climb when the track is wet. Our third of the Lofty Peak set. Might take a while to get to visit the rest of them. Another great lookout. TNLNSL
Found after a bit of an uphill climb...
Got to the top, found cache, and was rewarded with a FTF Sorry Stanleys, I reached the summit at 10:02am (I know this cos I got a phonecall just as I stepped next to the fencepost. Apparently there is no reception in the gully! Is a great view from up there.
Left a patch, took the Eyeball.
Thanks Four-fun, only 7 to go!
PS: wonder if Alex will climb this 'mountain' again? ... see his entry for 'A magnificent spot' GCF6C4 [:o)]
