An easy drive to GZ today. Although the last 20m is under water though! lol
We know this has been archived, but my Bestie wanted to bring me out here.
We did find 1 piece of something that may have been a cache! Is a pity it is archived as we would have replaced it for you.
Hope is ok to log a find? PG has placed a cache nearby to continue to bring people out this way. Nothing about nudists either!!
Thanks

On my previous visit to the area I couldn't find an access point, this time I read the cache info and drove as close as possible (the track is closed at Pelican Point) and walked the last 750m. Along the way I came across a swimmer, in his birthday suit, emerging from the water. At GZ it was obvious what was going to be required, and where I had to go. Yes, I nuded up for a smilie, but there was nobody around to witness the event!
Unfortunately all that remains of this cache is a couple of scraps of hard plastic, I made my mark on the larger of the two. Despite the nuding up I still abided by the number one rule of geocaching: I carried a pen out there with me (I'll leave it up to your imagination where the pen was while going to and from the cache!!!)
Thanks for the cache Cached, an unexpected first for me, and it will probably be the last as well.

This cache must have been placed when the water level was low as the cache seams to be a 5 star terrain swim or canoe paddle.
I don't know what we pay for swimming lessons for, if the 4 year old won't swim out to retrieve a cache A beautiful spot anyhow and it was a lovely caching drive around Lake Bonney. Thanks for the fun!
10+ days on from the last log, and I couldn't convince any of the 4 year olds to go get the cache. None of them believed us that it was in that tree in the water.
Thanks for the drive.
Thanks for the drive.
It was difficult to find a track to go there however we found a spot to park then to our horror [:0] the cache is over there with water around...should have read the previous logs it was far too cold to swim to the hide
After a half hour paddle across the lake from where we were camping, Geoteen went for a climb while team alvan99 & i held his craft steady.Quick find once we got there , no nudists around today.
Lake was probably at it highest since cache was placed making it a great challange.

Eventually found by JAPER after a lengthy walk, but cooled off with a nudey dip to retrieve the cache!!!! TFTH...
Well this one certainly deserved the terrain rating today - lots and lots of wet stuff between the shore and the cache But lets not let that hinder us - off with the clothes (or some of them ). Will upload some pics later when home. Thanks for a very interesting and challenging cache!
Lake levels have risen again... I should have taken off the shoes and had a go but I had already walked 14km, and just wanted to get back to the campsite...
The dog collapsed shortly after not finding this one, needed to give him a breather... maybe next year!

Found this one whilst out for a caching afternoon with Gemini7 and TicklesNTangles. we were welcomed by a local resident, obviously pleased to see others out on such a cold day !!! Took the walk to the cache, amazed at how the water level has subsided now. We were welcomed back at the car by the local resident, who then waved us farewell.
Thanks for the cache cached, didn't take up the option for the double smiley today.

What a great cache, the first one that I have used the Kayak "Puddle Pirate" to find! It was a great day to go searching for treasure (O.K. Cache). thanks again.
Couldn't find the right track to the cache - most of the tracks are now blocked with rocks and posts. Tried some vineyard tracks but came across a local but he couldn't tell me the right way. May half to walk into this one another day.
You have to come in through the nude beach. This is past the nude caravan park, and I think from looking at Google Maps, it's Dansie Rd. There's one of those enviro toilets there, and camping spots. You should be able to drive to the end of their area and then walk along the beach. It's called "Pelican Point". but so is the caravan park.

Twenty third cache for the while up in the area for the Country Swimming Championship, Found while out on an evening jaunt with some muggle friends. Took 3 attempts to find the right track in to the cache. Muggle friend went to retrieve the cache, mozzies everywhere tonight. Couldn't find the same track out and ended up driving through the backyard of the local grape grower . TNLNSL. TFTC.
Took the speed boat to this one. Was towing a knee boarder as well. Pulled up just along the beach, then walked along to make the find, the photos made this a quick find. Back in the boat and a spin around the lake then back to shore.

To much storm damage to get close to the cache today will attempt it next year after they clean up the road leading into the cache.
i thought you weren't supposed to put caches in high places. found after long walk. tnln. tftc.

Not sure if we came in the right way (Ireland rd). The track got a bit greasy at the end needed low range . Found the cache no worries. Thx cached for the cache.
Not quite sure if we took the correct way in but it got us there. Too cold for any nude antics but just right for caching.
Thanks
Thanks
Bouncy way in, but the track wasn't too bad. A short walk and we were at GZ. Lots of photos taken, but many show the object at GZ, so I haven't included them. A strong cool breeze minimized the nude muggles.
Thanks, Robmc.
Thanks, Robmc.
This was a really interesting area to visit once Chewin had negotiated the sandy tracks to the cache site.
Lots of photos taken but the cold weather kept the nudists at bay and we certainly wern't about to shed our clothes for a smilie
Thanks Cached

Thank you for the cache. This one had us going through the vines as our gps insisted that is where we needed to be to get to this. She was so wrong, don't know what got into it, maybe the thought of going to a nudist beach set it off. Found it after a short walk and yes we did get to see some of the local talent in its raw state. Might have to do this one again for some more sites this time in summer. Gemini7
Nice placement Cached.
At 9pm there was very little chance of seeing anything I shouldn't have but the view of the lights across the lake was nice.
Cheers, TFTC.

A slight detour and a nice walk on the trip home. Well hidden.

My 9th and what turned out to be my last cache of the day. Drove to the car park and did 1.4km round walk in very hot and humid conditions.
Enjoyed GZ...You wouldnt believe where i actually signed the log...!!..Well..those of you who have done this cache will..lol
Did see 2 male nudists....I KEPT MY DISTANCE.!
Not sure what they thought i was up to, but i wasnt about to go over and explain myself...i drove off hot and finished for the day..back to the caravan park for a few coldies.
All good fun.

We drove to the carpark, but after realising the track has now been closed off, we decided not to go for a walk. It was about 700m from the carpark. Will leave for another day. Thanks. Dad says track has been closed for the last few months and has something to do with being on Aboriginal land.
Innamincka 08-4. A very enjoyable walk along the lake shore. I guessed the wrong tree as I approached, but found everything OK. Thanks.

Managed to get to gz ok and once there made the necessary effort to get a nicely hidden cache. I wonder if it is above the flood level? . Far too cold for anyone to be nuding up his morning! TFTC
Came here with Freddo , where has the water gone?
i took a pic for nude up for a smiley and still need to log that on GCA

easy find with the water in the lake so low... didn't even get the feet wet! bit of a walk to the cache (700m+) but enjoyable cheers 4 da cache.
We took advantage of the prevailing conditions to claim our find on this one .
It's a very surreal feeling walking amongst these dead giants of the lake.

Not looking quite so bonney any more. Still beautiful in an eerie sort of way with the declining water levels. We walked to the cache in an area where we had once sailed. The cache is safe and dry. The trees still magnificent casting ghostly shadows and reflecting into the very still water. TNLN. Thanks Cached
Just a quick note to let geocahers know there is an article in todays paper saying that part of the Lake Bonney's shoreline in this area has been closed of due to low water and and the constant discovery of native artefacts. Page 5 Riverland Weekly.
Would you believe it, it's raining out here today, and I'm logging this on the 27th camped at the Lake Bonney CP, and it's still raining. Woohoo
Brought a muggle and my nephew with me on the cache hunt. Last time I was here I would have had the FTF, but the water was rather deep, probably shoulder height. But this time we walked up, and my nephew climed to grab the cache.

Found the cache at 11am. Hooray found the track yep!!! I bring my own tool instead of climb the tree!!! Thanks god no water around the tree.... SL. Thanks Cached for organising the cache and hunt.
Drove to within 30m of the cache. That was quite close enough. Walked the rest. Dry as a biscuit. Save the bonney.
Easy find. didn't need to get wet to find it because of the lake waterline receeding. TNLN. Thanks Cached.

Finally found a geokid to assist in retrieving this cache after being oh so close a few weeks ago! Fortunately there were no white pointers in the vicinity and we were able to log a quick find and move on. TFTC.

One of my favourite caches of the week. Pleased to have some local knowledge to find the right road. Not too much trouble locating the cache and retrieving it. Lots of other interesting sights (all male?.........) Stark and yet beautiful lake scenery abounding with birdlife, despite dropping water levels. Took opal. Left Talking Shrek Baby. Thanks Cached
We easily located GZ and the probable location of the cache. However with the receeding waterline and none of us able bodied enough to retrieve the cache we reluctantly logged a DNF. Definitely a cache where geokids would be useful!

This adventure was in some ways hilarious, with the temp rising the sense of humour all round was quite frayed, when we found the way in past Pelican Point were relieved to find no pointers out on display. The cache location was identified, and as noted, wet feet and climbing boots were required, the spritly Pete did the tree deed, located the said item and passed it down for the paperwork to be completed, prior whilst waiting up the said tree for the climbing boots he decided we could enter nude up for a smilie so with the camera at the ready he "posed" pictures later... then did the cache thing. Water was nice and cool as we all went for a paddle, then is was back over the "hot" stuff to jump into the car and wend our way back out, after having completed our 1 for the day it was off to find a cool spot and a beer or three. On e the way out we did spot a "white pointer" holding a brolly...eeuw.... So thanks Cached for the spot and Mr. Parrot for putting back a cache for us to find.

Stubled upon this cache by accident while testing the new topo maps I got. Driving along barely existent "roads" when cache icon popped up on the screen! Wow!
With outside temperature around 35 degrees I was keen as mustard to dip myself.... not to be the case! Only managed to get myself wet to my knees!

From what I had been hearing about this cache I thought it was halfway across the lake and in neck deep water.
So I was really surprised when I got close and found it to only be a stones throw away.
Dropped the togs and straight in I went. What a laugh if I had of been wearing undies I wouldnt even have got them damp. The water didnt even make it up to my knee. I have got wetter than this walking to work.
Alas the cache was gone. I went up and down that tree 3 time. I had plenty of time as I camped there overnight. Decided to replace the cache and did a bit of work to make the container fit and put a cover in front of it.
I had a great campsite and no-one else around me. Got the kayak out and went for a paddle as the sun was setting.
Got up early the next morning and watched the sunrise. Then around 6:45 went for a swim and then checked the tree one last time before leaving for more caches.
Have to be back in Adelaide tonight so I can go to Alex'x birthday tomorrow.
Happy Birthday Alex. Best wishes from the Parrot Family.

Too cold, wet and windy to need a smiley that much this morning. Maybe during summer!
Arrived at GZ and nominated Sparky to disrobe and head out to find the cache. Being cold, wet and windy, Sparky only dipped her toes in the water before opting out, quickly put on the clothes and returned to the warmth of the car, happy to log a no find. Had the camera ready for the money shot but alas not today! Cheers R4R
Well the brat boys braved a cold evening and nuded up for this one, only to scedadle mighty quickly when they spotted the local camper returning - as they chickened out before finding the cache they can't log either this one or Nude Up For A Smiley as a find, but they are now more determined to do so and the youngest is proudly calling himself a 'nudie'
postiegirl06 was heading home after a long day then thought - she better drop in and get this cache done!
Arrived fully clothed to GZ to find a bed?? Still wondering about it actually!! When the GPS told me where it was I knew it wasn't fibbing me either! Managed to find easy but the smell from a nearby hole was really bad! And those birds are scary - What is that noise they make! It was like something from an Alfred Hitchcock movie! Arrived safely back to car to dry off..TSLSSL TFTC Cached ..Cool As..
P.S. For those interested the nearby colony is For Sale...

With a court injunction against caching on the weekend away due to the borrowed car I managed to do this one as part of a 9km run early in the morning. Came in from English Road and followed the track north from the bend. Easy on foot/motorbike or 4WD but a bit of a worry if you attempted in a 2WD or in the wet. I'd guess that powered dust turns to glue. Found the location but didn't want to run back in wet shoes or wet running shorts so stripped off for a quick retrieval if it got a bit deep. Golly, that's nuding up twice in the past month, at least it's considered normal around here.
Soon found the cache but that boxthorn growing in the tree needs removing before it removes someones dangly bits.
Dried off in the sun on the grass.
Took: A memory but no photos, Left: Some vanity.

Decided to take the the other half of Bowz2(a ex Bamera Local) out to find the cache "never been here before!" was the words spoken,
As we drove in from English road end (havent been on this road before she said!) No nudists today Maybe too cold?

Too many male muggles parading their wiggly bits around, so we decided to give this one a miss.
Definitely not a family friendly cache.
Definitely not a family friendly cache.
The first attempt was hampered by muggles camping so came back later when no one was around… then bingo (after barking up the wrong tree).
Easy find with a new pair of surf moxs.
Saw something brown fleeing through the bushes!! Talk about nude up for a smiley. Plenty to see today. How do those cheeks get so brown in the middle of winter? What is that brown up tanning stuff? Proof is in the pudding, oh, I mean digital camera!
Thanks Cached. Clear skies, TeamAstro
Two penguins went to Pelican Point, and decided one penguin needed to go for a swim. Nomad started taking off the clothes (no nuding up for a smiley though) while Stealth fetched the camera. Cold day for cold flippers! Great location. Thanks for a memorable cache!
This one was a good one for penguins! That's easy for me to say as I'm the one that stayed dry.
Had a look yesterday, but couldn't quite believe the GPS. Went back today (sans mother-in-law) with appropriate supplies. Strangely enough it was right where the GPS said it was!

Hooray a FTF and in a nudist camp. Great name for the cache. Wouldn't like to do this one in the nude though. It was found by two of Klems Mob while the other 6 took photos!! There was a slight climbing accident and the retriever barked his shin- bit messy but is OK. Left a duck magnet and a klem bear and took a golf ball. Saw one of the locals on the way in - he had a shirt on but that's all. After the great find, we sat near the shore and had lunch as it was a lovely sunny day. Thanks Cached for this fun cache.
12:41 pm Looked at first place we thought it would be, but no it wasn't there, hints said climb. So Barra 4 did, I put him up three trees. He found broken beer bottle necks in all the hidey holes which we removed from the trees and the area. But still no cache, GPS was pointing to a tree 45 metres out into the water, which looked a likely spot, maybe it was placed when the river level was lower. Decided to leave this one after an hour of looking.

Looked for by Bwpbwin, new GPS showed cache to be 45 metres out in the water, didn't look for too long on the land as temp was 40 degrees, will try next time when a bit cooler
