Had a phonecall from Mr Jelly from the Remand Centre, the area is about to be turned into a worksite, so it's off line until it can be replaced.
Thanks Mr Jelly
Thanks Mr Jelly
Was led astray by spotting an Eclipse tin on the wrong side of the fence. had to investergate and found a tin of butts! back round the correct side again I located it. tftc

Hubby has been wanting to do this for some time, only one more of this series to go, gee how much its changed from a boys boarding school to the Remand centre, after we told our children what it was they started singing " I WANT TO BREAK FREE" lol TFTC SL
Thanks Barramundi's we could feel the negative karma on the other side of the wall.
I never thought a cache outside a prison would be a good idea, but this ended up being a very easy find, at 7am on a brisk June morning. Just a block from where I stayed the night. Thanks.
It was so easy, this time, just reject my intuition (like my lecture keeps saying) and there it was
That sounds right, a bording school is turned into a jail, I wonder how many changes were made

Thanks

A quick one. An old couple parked right next to it and would not leave. Had to wait for quite a while. TFTC.
It took me a while to find it because I did not read the hint. Thanks for the interesting history. I did not stay there for one night as I have a home to go.
Thanks The Barramundi's for the cache.
Thanks The Barramundi's for the cache.
Thank you Barramundi's, this was our first Adelaide find (well one and only actually - today). Glad to know that we have a nice comfortable bed to go home to, and a dinner of garlic prawns... (but you dont get that in there!)
TFTC... we loved it

Decided our hotel was more luxurious but enjoyed the cache Thanks and greetings from the UK
I found this one reasonably quickly, but just after I put it back a couple of security guards came out and said "you'll have to move on. You're setting all the alarms off". I held up my hand and said "high five". Evidently they didn't like that too much, so now I'm in a cell with a very friendly chap called Bruce. They let me go online instead of making a phone call, so here I am. Hurrah for extreme sports!
While looking, got visited by several security guards. Friendly blokes but nevertheless decided to leave this one for later.
Made a quick stop to sign the log before continuing on our tour. Not many muggles around today. Thanks!
I noticed this when logging my finds earlier today. Apparently it was disabled when I run my PQs 3 months ago [B)] A quick stop was sun was setting, but I chose not to stay the night
Found with Bek-The Raccoon and Thunderclese, logged quickly and moved on, TFTC!
Cache had fallen onto ground. Replaced where we think it was. TFTC

Apart from really bad GPSr directions, it was a fairly quick find in a logical spot. Thankfully I didn't have to stay too long - some of the guys going in to visit their mates looked like they'd give me a good mugging to remember the place by! TFTC.
Glad I've never stayed the night here. Cache was found, signed and returned in a matter of moments, before a quick escape. TFTC.
found it relatively easy. Had a dodge initial gps fix, but then it came good. Thanks.
Checked the cache today, it has gone, and as I don't work there anymore I fear the cache has been removed by someone inside.
The wind blows rubbish into the area as well, which it CITO'd often. I will tidy it up and replace it soon.

Found on our Melbourne to Adelaide road trip and caching adventure. Glad we didn't have to stay the night. TNLN TFTC
Found after a few minutes loitering around. The security guards sure seemed interested in what the heck I was doing. Took a little plastic star, left a crappy plastic dinosaur. SL TFTC.
Was on a work trip to Adelaide and staying at the Saville Apartments. Took E-Trex around and GPSr was moving all over the place, not sure if this was due to all the electronic surveilance equipment around. Had no idea in the end regarding as to where this cache may be, and will be sometime before I get back to Adelaide. Wondering if the cache owner might be able to send me a hint to see if I was close.

Found the cache at 2.45pm. Nice easy - found it!!! Not many muggles around there phew!!! SL. Thanks for organising the cache and hunt.
Found during 24hr cac-hunting run, Accompanied with Varuna and Everlasting as our Driver, Found 120 caches out of 137 including 17 DNFs and the missing caches. Thanks for organizing the cache and hunt.
24hr cache-hunt run by snapper!!! and varuna. At the night time the cache was found and signed (using sticker), before we run back where Everlasting (Driver) was waiting in her car, to drive to the next cache. Thanks for the cache and spot.
Find number 1196. Found while on a mad 24 hour dash with Mr MadMyers. This cache was one of our 189 today. Cheers The Nanks P.S - I am wondering which side of the wall you and the MadMyers shared your meal????
hey Barra - we've shared a meal twice now in the space of a few days - that's not bad for cachers from two states quite a distance from each other. We did quite a few of your caches on our night adventure into caching and enjoyed all of them. Thanks for the cache.
Remand Centre, The Adelaide Boys High School, probably didn't need much modification
The high building were giving the GPS's a hard time, so we just looked, and the cache was in hand very soon.
Start of the night's cacheing.
Thanks, Robmc.

First of a few in company with Calumphing four and Robmc. And a very good night was had by all. As far as staying the night! I'd rather not thanks. It rather reminds me of an incident some years back when a friend of mine's son accidently shot a bloke and found himself inside a similar place. Was a tough time for that family at the time.
Anyway we found and wern't caught loitering so all is good.
Thanks

First of 13 for the evening in the company with Robmc and Chewinpickles from Victoria.
After letting the GPSr settle, and a bit of a search, realised where it probably was. Before looking, Robmc pulled it from that spot.
Good to do this one in the daylight, as I'd hate to be seen looking with a torch around here. Also good to get it done before the next pub lunch, so I don't feel guilty having lunch 100m away from an unfound cache.
I should have left a calendar, so the cache could have 12 months [:o)], but TNLN.

Read the logs extensively, sat in the car and thought about this one before venturing out to find the cache [8)].
Found in the 3rd place we looked .
Took nothing.
Left GOOMay 2007 'Here I come' geocoin.
SL.
Saw no-one here on our afternoon visit. I can just imagine a kid running a stick along that fence though - amazed it's set up that way .
Thanks Barramundi's for keeping us on our toes. We think you should leave this where it is [^].

finally got this mongrel... a lot less intimidating when you have "warden barra" giving you a tour and then helping you but I did enjoy learning about the city remand centre (and even learnt what remand meant lol). thanks again barra! tnlnsl
We must have looked really amusing on camera. Pity we'll never see the footage... Cheers Gav [1403]
Kiwi Cache Raid: #6 @ 00:27. A bit nervous about taking on this cache given the location but all was quiet so decided to go for it. Only learnt at the event the next day from Barramundi himself that we would have been spotted on the survelliance cameras. Nice to meet you Barramundi and thanks for the cache.,,,,,,,,,
12:27 a.m. This cache was found on our record-breaking attempt to find the most caches in a 24 hours period; we ended up finding 195 all up.
Thanks to all the cachers who placed these interesting caches in Adelaide.
I only wish we could have spent more time appreciating the locations that we visited on our whistle stop tour.
TNLN, Thanks for the cache.

Another quick find on our record attempt.
8 cachers covered this area well - found it in about a minute.
Would be quite a challenging spot to search alone.

Found without too much difficulty quite late on a Sunday evening.
I didn't touch the fence, BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER for the staff of the facility, as merely leaving the sidewalk is enough to trip the proximity alarms. I was questioned by three facility staff, who took quite a bit of convincing and use of props to explain what I was doing.
In the end they let on that they knew what was happening, but I get the impression that they are not going to see this as entertainment much longer.
I STRONGLY recommend that this cache be moved across the road, or around the corner, or something, so as to not raise the alarm.
TNLN, TFTC.

A lot of visitors going to this facility on Sunday morning.... though they were not interested in another pair of strange people, though I must add we were not as strange as one who had to explain to us what she was doing.
Thanks for showing us this spot.
Thanks for showing us this spot.
I was lucky enough to get a tour of the facilities next door. This cache was the perfect compliment!
Found easily this morning on an exploration walk around the Adelaide CBD TFTC.
Scooted down here after the lunch to find the cache (a tour? no thanks! ) Thanks for the warning about the fence! I know a small couldn't have been hidden on it but still I would have otherwise been very tempted to at least touch it. Found the container quickly, happy it is an easy hide in this location. TNLNSL. Thanks!
This was a very nervous find - not sure who would appear around the corner and question me - and thanks to Mtbikeroz for his very timely warning too!! Luckily found without incident and quickly skedadled on my way again! TN Left Generic GC and kansas Sunshine GC had a quick visit.
Thanks for a memorable hunt Barramundi's

This was my last cache on a cold, rainy night. There was no-one around and after checking one spot, I found it in the next. Thanks for the cache.
WARNING!!!!
WARNING!!!!!!!!
SEVERE WARNING!!!!!!!!
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT look at or touch the fence - I AM VERY SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!
As explained to me by the two burly scary looking guards that came charging towards me - the fence is sensed by cameras AND sensor devices, touch it, and even put your hand under it OR NEAR IT, YOU ARE HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fortunately, I was able to explain everything, showed them my GPS and a printout, explained it all - PHEW!.
After that shake up, I left and came back the next day, had a seat, and thought and thought and ......, Then went straight to cache, signed log, and I was outa there.

Got a park right out front, and retreated back to said car to sign log. Took 'slacker' badge to give to onewiseowl for his birthday on saturday; he's ever so slow at logging caches. Probably has found twice as many as he's logged. TFTC
Twisties and I were on our way out to Port Adelaide but stopped in for this one on the way. It was Sunday so we were confident we would go somewhat unnoticed. Took a while to find GZ but once we did it wasnt long before the cache was in hand.

I was really worried about staying too long in this establishment so I had a few quick looks on the way past at lunch times this week, after a hint I managed to go straight to it today and logged it across the road so as not to raise suspicion. Cheers. MODU.
PS I wonder at the significance of the magnet in the cache with a 1c piece stuck to it, is copper magnetic?

While sitting on the bench logging the cache after "tying up" my shoelaces, a car approached, did a u-turn and told us to move on. When I asked why, I was told that we were sitting in front of a prison. Oh really? (rolls eyes) I wasn't going to point out that we were sitting on a park bench on public land - you don't argue with a big, black guy. I had to walk away from GZ with the cache in my pocket. I walked back soon after, replaced the cache and kept on walking. I hope it was a warped "in" joke and the cache is still safe and sound. I had to remove an item because I just couldn't get the cache to shut.
This one is finally off the list. Phew!

What would SA geocachers do without magnets? I've seen more magnets in 3 days in SA than in 2 years in TAS and I love 'em......they allow such tricky hides
Very quiet around here today and only one passing muggle to look askance at senor el golco who was on hands and knees in entirely the wrong place
TNLNSL Dropped JigglyPuff and Bob the Lobster TBs in but they said no thanks so took them out again.

Dropping of Snoopy with a couple of nuts, but they wont be in the Cache, they will be really Staying The Night on Remand
Ok, Nuts, Snoopy and Mopsy are sharing a cell together this weekend. They are not in the cache they are in the Remand Centre.
3 Meals a day, 2 DVD's, GYM, Yard Time, Rec and weights each day. But don't worry, I'll keep them away from other prisoners, wouldn't want them to learn anything bad.
Cheers from Barra

A quick dash around adelaide after work, to pickup a few outstanding caches before I have to return to Melbourne.
Found the prize sitting out in the open, surprised that it was still there.
Have repositioned deeper into the surrounds. hope this helps it last a longer.
