Over from SA for 4 days of caching with Egregory1, Featherwaite and Brisal5.

We came primarily to do the Paddlesteamer series but picked up orthers as we drove around.

Apologies for the generis logs.

All caches we found were in good order.

Thanks to all cache owners whose caches we found.

Have had the information for this one since a previous visit. Better get it now before it disappears forweve me thinks.

***Generic Log unless something special above this line.***

I have seen a T shirt with Sleep Eat Cache Repeat [^] Well a four day trip to Mildura with caching friends Team Waldron, E.gregory and FeatherWaite certainly fit that bill. Razz Logs were signed with initials only for the teams - BEFW

Up at daybreak, quick breakfast and cache all day stopping only to have a snack whilst out on the trails, rush to set up camp near dusk for a meal, then perhaps some night caching, early night and REPEAT! Big Grin

Strategic camping at Kings Billabong, Rocket lake and The Common meant we were close by the Geoart and target night caches. Cool Two previous trips in 2013 and 2016 by me and some by E.gregory meant we visited some (well quite a few actually) previous finds but that made it quick for the people that hadn't found them previously. Wink

I can't thank the CO's of these caches enough as some were really very inventive. Even having solved most puzzles before we came we were confronted with field puzzles and gadgets that were just mind boggling. [:X][:X][:X]

***Thanks shovelling_son for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Brisal5, e.gregory1 and Team Waldron with the main aim to complete the Paddle Steamer and Turtle GeoArt series but also to find other caches along the way. We camped out on the banks of the Murray River near Mildura on the first night, at Rocket Lake campground in the Murray-Sunset National Park on the second night, then back to the banks of the Murray River near Merbein on the last night. We signed the logs as B.E.F.W. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the cache!

Today the sky was blue, the wind had dropped and the dust was almost gone!
Another day of family caching in and around Sunraysia, - logs with the team Mattycat stamp include Purrfect Di, Jack, and Sebastbat as well as teen muggle Alex.
Some may get some initials as well Razz All have made us smile Big Grin
Mildura and surrounds certainly have some great cache hides.
Many well constructed caches and clever clues. Thanks to the local caching community Smile

Had a look at the road in to the other Meocache and it's friends. Things seemed to have changed there a lot, no access Sad

But this one was easy to get to. Car park at the start and a short walk, soon revealed a cache.
Great views of the river and a friendly tree goanna nearby to greet us!

While logging tried to check out the meocache website as suggested -> seems that may have expired Surprised

Suscoe and Phetlern headed out today for an adventure to the west of Mildura out through Merbien, Wentworth and a bit further out to Fort Courage.
Another wonderful day in the Mildura region.
Clear skies, lovely sunshine, lots of caches to search for and great company.
What more could you wish for.

Thanks to shovelling_son for this puzzle and hide.
All good here today, took us a little while to find our way in.
Great views on the way out of the swans on the billabong.

Day 43 of my solo camping trip that had taken me from Adelaide, through Victoria and around Tasmania, then up to Queanbeyan and the ACT for the Clear Waters Mega event, then back to SA via southern NSW. One more day and I should be home.

The weather has held out beautifully and today I made mu way from near Mildura up to the northernmost point of Victoria, then down the Border Track.

Its been a great day, visiting some lovely places, with quite a few cache finds and a couple of nice walks.

This was a straightforward little puzzle and a very pleasant walk to GZ early this morning. Given it hasn’t been found since August last year, it was nice to be able to give this unloved cache a bit of attention.

Thanks shovelling_son for the puzzle and the cache.

Nice easy find. TFTC. Cache still in good condition

We are returning home to Tasmania after attending the Red Centre Experience Event in Alice Springs. Today we headed out from Curlwaa to find the local caches and this was one we found. Geocaching takes you to some beautiful spots and this is one of those spots. Deserves a favourite. TFTP. This cache was more like a multi though.

I really like the effort put into this cache only to find it just sitting at the base of a tree, specially when there are some great stumps and logs around. but any way every thing was ok and the Cache is still there in good condition. TFTC

with the river still in flood we continued on holidays so more Caching time.

Now we have wandered from Anglesea to Mt Gambier Adelaide and back to Geelong now to Alexander onto Euroa and beyond we have found many other like minded people so the caching adventure grows stronger.
As we came through this area we met up with Roosterman and joined in with the rebel act to do the caches in this area had a great couple of days doing the tour.
Thanks shovelling_son for putting this cache out for us to find

In Mildura to catch up with honeysucker for the weekend. After a couple of hot days, today was a welcome change with 25C and made it a lot easier to do some caching. TFTC. Big Grin

I headed to Mildura mainly to attend the '4 months to the Surf Coast Mega' event, but took advantage of the opportunity to do a longer roadtrip covering the north-western parts of Victoria. It's one of the few parts of Victoria I had not yet visited, so there were some great discoveries and much caching along the way. This Monday I spent the morning around Mildura and Buronga, and then headed to Echuca in the afternoon following the river in an easterly direction. This was the busiest day of the trip, with many miles travelled and over 30 caches found at a leisurely pace.

This was a much easier cache to get to than when I tried 2 nights ago. Enjoyed the great walk on a sunny day, and found the 10-year-old cache with most of the original contents including the Noiseworks cassette (don't know if that's due to obsolete media or different music tastes Big Grin).
Surprisingly few signatures in the actual logbook.
Thanks for the multi, shovelling son.

After a full day's caching and an evening geo-event I wasn't ready to call it a night.
Just before midnight I was at WP1. After gathering the required information I tried to make my way to GZ, but being unfamiliar with the area I was unable to make progress by 2WD or on foot. As I stumbled around the local canines were barking their unhappiness (where were they anyway as I couldn't see any residences Smile ) so I called it quits for the day. This will require a daylight attempt.

After a good day yesterday achieving over 150 in a day in the company of DAB we left the camping grounds at Loxton to head for another great spot , Broken Hill. As we travelled along we picked up as many caches as we had time for. Making 3 states in a day Smile
We soon had the correct information leading to GZ where we were able to drive all the way enjoying the views as we went. We hadnt noticed the small bit of unloved on it prior to our visit but DAB was happy to take it to complete a 15 year unloved challenge back in Melbourne.
**Thanks shovelling son for the Mystery and great location.**

04-Apr-16
Well our holiday is over, but there's always time to grab a few more on the way home !! Had no problems with the puzzle, just the way we like it !! A nice easy find at GZ and a bonus pick up of unloved days as well !! TFTC shovelling son Smile

A beautiful spot. The water from previous days was evident but the track had dried enough so I would not damage it. The bird life is beautiful here.

Thanks to shovelling_son and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!

09-May-15
After breakfast we headed out to this cache. We gathered the information and made our way to GZ. Today, our GPS had us about 10m away but we managed to make the find. Caching with Tomstache, Glanville Girls and Motndarg. Lucky it wasn't too wet. We thought this cache was more like a regular size container.

09-May-15
Together with Glanville Girl and McLooker , we sorted the information that was necessary, then journeyed along a track to locate the cache. The bird life was rather nice.

09-May-15
Did the calcs, went to GZ along a bumpy, sandy road. Found the cache at GZ. Lots of birds.

09-May-15
We headed out to this puzzle with Motndarg and McLookers. We gathered the necessary info and off we went. Today our GPS had Gz out by about 10 metered but it was a nice yuck find anyway. Thanks for placing this cache.

Found with Bogonghazy after having a day off caching yesterday. We netted in excess of 50 finds for the day, ate lunch on the go in the car, but found some fantastic hides during the day. With the necessary numbers in hand, we drove towards GZ, and noticed that if we could walk across at the dry end of the Billabong, it would save us a good 4-5 km trip by track. That we did, and BH was the one to spot the cache after a few mins of searching. Thanks to shovelling son for the puzzle and the cache.

07-Jun-14
Sully had the necessary numbers for this one, and once we saw the track needed to get to GZ, decided to feel out the dry end of the lagoon here. We crossed without mishap and found a few old bottle on the way, and then the fun started. I had a second run around this spot and still didn't think I'd found it. Cammo and cache were covered in mud, making it nearly impossible to distinguish, only a sweep of the dried mud revealed this one. Thanks shovelling son, lovely spot with the pelicans on the water too.

11-Aug-13
Found with stewbies 6, great day out lots of fun and laughter!!!

I started this cache months ago but made a mistake somewhere. Today it was all good. Beautiful spot for a cache. TFTC!

23-Apr-13
I had the pleasure of the company of CPwanderer and DennisC52 for a caching trip to Mildura.
We saw lots of rain on our first day but then dry sunshine for the last two days.
We locus cache'd a few caches (121 finds and 13 DNFs) and all in all had a great time, especially on some of the state forest dirt roads! WinkCool
Yes, there were police involved (twice) Surprised but luckily no fines! Cool

What a lovely spot for a walk and then an interesting drive towards GZ, too. Cool
Love the cache container, always like finding these Smile

Started out at Flossy's First cache and worked my way back towards Merbein/Mildura picking up different caches along the way. A very enjoyable mornings exercise with this cache being 2nd for the day.

22-Jul-12
We worked hard for this cache - boating up from the Abbottsford bridge - we took the shortcut home. We decided to collect the final by car on the way home. We got to within about 200 metres, towing the boat we came to some mud - so we stopped there. Walked in and found with a torch as the stars came out. Thanks for the replacement container Doheng.

#1833 Found this on our Mildura caching weekend. Had this on our To-Do list for the weekend, fortunately we were able to tick this one off, unfortunately we were unable to attempt others.....which just means that we will have to return Big Grin. This is a great location and we enjoyed our walk, there was heaps of bird life here today. TNLN our thanks to shovelling_son on this adventure, we had a beaut time[^]

Great walk, lots of birdlife. Thanx for bringing us here. We have looked at this cache often and kept putting it off, don't know why it took us so long, it was an easy stroll and find. . Picked up the travel express TB polar bears. Left a CMG yoyo. TFTC .

We have been out to have a look. New cache container and log. Happy caching. Out checking on the caches around town. Doing some maintenance and dropping some trackables in and out.

03-Jan-11
We thought we would have a look for this one while in the area looking at all the flooding. The Billabong is obviously a lot fuller than when the track etc were built.

No luck finding the cache, we were a bit reluctant to poke into some of the bushes after seeing a goanna just around the corner.

03-Jan-11
Did a thorough search for this one without success. Will contact last person to find it and see whether we can get some guidance. Although difficult to get to, we might try this one again.

still can not find this one

we did look everywhere (again)

i will try and get a hint

Found the cache at 3pm, Enjoyed walk along to GZ - search for while until my GPSr settle down. Saw - Black Swam with 6 babies so cuties... and lovely bushland as well. SL. Thanks shovelling_son for organising the cache and hunt.

30-Aug-09
Found at 0640. Whilst this one ended up being a simple multi, Rubik and I thoroughly enjoyed doing it early this morning. Grabbed the numbers, calculated the coords, and then off down the bumpy road. Once at GZ, we initially ignored the GPS and looked in all the obvious locations before Rubik found the cache nearer to where the coords were pointing.
Another lovely little area which I would love to return to and explore further.

Thanks.

30-Aug-09
I've pondered the nature of this puzzle cache since I first noticed it many months back. It looked like a multi but was I missing something? MV and I were keen to complete it today and with the weather looking fine we decided we'd give the track a go. We collected the info without too much trouble and decided we'd drive to GZ. Traversing the track almost gave me sea sickness - up and down, up and down, rolling-rolling! We made our way through 800m of track and were greeted with marvellous views of early morning sun sparkling on the river. The coords gave us a bit of trouble but the clue helped.

So after all that it wasn't as difficult as I thought, the track was a lot of fun and the cache location very memorable.

Thanks!

In the company of Ian&Penny, pprass Squalid and 3UP, (maccamob having departed for other areas) we collected the information from waypoint one which was shared readily and we headed off toward the GZ and another interesting and scenic area. Cache was quickly found and log by all.

TNLN .. SL .. TFTH shovelling son.

Like I & P we weren't comfortable to try for Meocache #1. We watched some of the other vehicles in our convoy - and as passengers we weren't really all that keen to try the crossing.

30-Aug-09
7th find of the cache run and 2112th total find at 12:38.

A few of us decided that it would be nice to clear up a few caches around the Mildura area. We had a list, and so did the others. Somewhere along the line we seem to have covered yet another list. An enjoyable days caching was had by all.

Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver
Thanks shovelling_son for the cache.

PS we weren't game to try for Meocache #1. We watched some of the other vehicles in our convoy - and our passengers weren't really all that keen to try the crossing.

Found at 12.35pm GAFF5. In the company of Ian&Penny, Phetlern, Squalid and 3UP. Love this whole river area. We found a track that we could drive on and it led us right to GZ. We should have trusted the GPS as we initially searched all around in likely hiding spots.
Thanks shovelling_son

30-Aug-09
Found with a group of cachers while up here for the "Let's raid the food bowl" event. 3UP pipped Iann and Penny at the post! Nice spot, thanks for the cache.

Managed to find the way in to wp1 ok. The info was easily gleaned then it was off to gz. I started looking at "obvious" spots until I believed the gps and found the cache. I then walked on a bit past gz.
A good walk along a nice lagoon, thanks shovelling_son.

21-Jun-09
On our way home from a day at Perry Sand Hills, saw this come up, discussed it & decided a walk was a good idea.

Stopped & had a read of the board, then headed off for a casual walk along the lagoon.

The cache was easily located at the GZ & back we went to get started on dinner.

Thanks for the cache.

Didn't do this one as we thought it was across the river. Just looked at it on Google Earth and obviously, there's a way around [xx(].
Not sure when we'll be up here next, but we'll surely get it then - Doh [B)]!!!!

Heading back fro Broken Hill with vombatus after doing the fireworks for their agricultural show we stopped here. At wpt1 we collected the required information and learnt quite a bit more about the history of this area. We then headed off to gz. Once there we started in obvious locations without looking at the GPSr but when we did we followed the needle directly to gz for a nice easy find.
Droppedd off TB Skippy
Thanks shovellin_son for an enjoyable historical tour of this part of the river

21-Sep-08
Found in company with Team Crackers whilst we were on our way back from Broken Hill after the fireworks at the Broken Hill Show.

This cache took us to a beautiful spot on the banks of a tributary of the mighty Murray River. We walked along and wondered how it would have been to live here taking your food from the local environment. In many, many ways it would be an idyllic life. Thanks for taking us to such an interesting spot.

06-Sep-08
did this one the long way.... parked about 300m away from the entry point and on the opposite side to what was required so the walk to the cache was extra long... but enjoyable all the same.... put GPSr down as I thought I could see where the cache was hidden.... WRONG Smile quick check back on the GPSr and the correct location was found easily..... TNLNSL

cheers 4 da cache shovelling_son!

We have replaced the container for this cache. It is now a 1 litre round screw top jar. Happy Hunting!

11-May-08
enjoyed the walk. TNLN. thanks.

11-May-08
Enjoyed collecting the data and the very pleasat walk along the river to the cache. Unfortunately we had not read the notes about a new container being needed. Contents still dry as they are in the ziplock bag. We left a travel bug. Thanks shovelling_son

COULD THE NEXT CACHERS PLEASE TAKE A REGULAR SIZE CONTAINER TO REPLACE BROKEN ONE.

07-May-08
We hunted and hunted but, going by the way we easily found the other one, we think this one has gone Missing. Sad

31-Mar-08
The cache was broken open, we put the swaps and log book in a new zip lock bag, but this one will need a new container ASAP (We had no spares with us).

28-Mar-08
Great walk along the billabong with lots of interesting things to see along the way, including some black swans.

Took: Golf ball
Left: Spinning top and Mole

23-Mar-08
Foudn without any troubles- we drove to nearby. Only problem is the container is soooo brittle and it almost fell apart getting the lid back on. This cache needs some maintenance before everything is destroyed.

Although i must say, a little disappointed as there was not really much in the cache.

28-Mar-07
Found by Mary & David at 1815. Another wonderful place you've shown us. Despite the rain and mud, we loved it here, especially the pelicans. Took Australian bottle opener, left Parker pen in a box. The container is a bit damp inside. Our thanks again to shovelling son.

Was too hot for the kilometre walk to the final cache hiding spot, wasn't happy when I saw that I could have driven to within 20 metres. But I guess the walkk did my gut some good.

What a neat Billabong, no wonder the original inhabitants spent some time here. TN but left a squirty basketball.
Thanks for the cache shovelling_son.

[Came when it was hot, hot, hot!! Soooooooo next visit I am coming back early in the cool of the morn to see the rest.
Took us quite a while to locate the road to get us around to this billabong.
Then when we finally got to the cache spot hmmm Well lets say when in doubt trust your GPS!!! We looked for ages] in two other ...likely looking spots. At one of them was] found a Klem's Mob's bear so we were SURE we were at the right spot!!] 20 mins later and very frustrated we finally followed the GPS [and found it easily!!! drrrrrrrrr!]
BTW Klem's mob's bear gremlin is back in the cache!

It took us a while to settle on the correct approach to this site but after doing the sums we finally succeeded in making it to within 50m of GZ in our vehicle. Ok this time of the year but not likely during the winter months.
Not many birds today with the exception of some Coots
In: One of our usual Mondo Figurines.
