While in Pt Lincoln we had 2 more older caches that was on our Wishlist. So we teamed up with the dynamic duo, wheres_wolly_sharon for a day exploring the Widbey Wilderness Area of the Coffin Bay N.P.Tide was good and it was nice drive out along 7 Mile Beach heading to Sir Isaacs. Great scenery near GZ and it wasnt too windy. Off with the thongs and on with the boots and it wasnt long before cache was in hand. We headed back to The Pool Campground for lunch. The feral bees became a bit annoying, but it would make a good camp spot bar them. Thanks gazzan1 for this adventure tftc and Wolly and Sharon as our tour leaders.

Replaced container, left 2 x path tags, fav point!

Happy caching and safe travels!

A little tricky- this definitely needs a new container (which I had no replacement for) so if you go hunting- take a new fruit container sized box as a replacement!

Found it quickly. Wet spent the night at Yangie Bay Campground and drove in today to Sir Isaac point. Excellent views along the road and an awesome spot for the cache.

Unfortunately the container is in need for repair as it is broken. We did not have a replacement of this size with us so hid it back as found.

What better place to hide a cache? Beautiful views and serenity. Thanks for the hide. The cache container is becoming a little brittle however it’s so well tucked away that I don’t think it would be really an issue. Thanks again.

Found it during a road trip in South Australia for Christmas break.
What an adventure to reach this cache. We drove for the first time over the sand dunes. Every bay and lookout was amazing.
At GZ quick find. We signed the book and put everything back where we found it.

We drove and camped at The Pool campground. Today we walked the short distance to GZ.
The cache was found with a hole in the side. Unfortunately we only had a small container that wasnt big enough to hold the larger log book. We put the log in a zip lock bag to protect it a bit longer.

Another great day exploring around The Eyre Peninsula, this time in Coffin Bay NP with EsromL and Laighside Legends.

It was a fantastic day weather-wise and great to be able to get out and see this remote place.

The cache was quickly found, but not before a rat seems to have chewed a hole in the container and eaten most of the logbook! This one needs some CO attention.

Thanks gazzan1 for the cache.

What an awesome spot. Thanks for bringing us our here. Have been to coffin bay a couple of times camping at black Springs and only ever made it as far as fishing on seven mile beach. This time because we had more time we decided to tick off past the beach and so glad we did. Pen isn't working but found an ikea pencil in my handbag (I wonder if ikea knows how much the inadvertently sponsor geocaching) and left that in the cache. Happy Easter!!

After an great drive into the heart of the park Razz, we setup camp at Morgan's Landing, before heading out to this point - our second objective in coming to explore the area this weekend [8].
Really enjoyed watching the waves crashing over/between the rocks here Cool and someone else threw a line into the water and caught a Salmon, all within 30 seconds Big Grin.
After walking out on the rocks to 'lands end,' we came back to find the cache [^]. TNLNSL.
Thanks for bringing us here Gazzan1 - a place we can now cross off our bucket list SmileBig GrinCool[^]SurprisedRazz!

I enjoyed the leisurely cruise in the geomobile this morning from Black Springs campground to reach this extremity of the national park Smile
Spectacular views and so nice to see a bit of surf rolling in, after the flat-water action of Coffin Bay [:o]

As I neared GZ a flock of emus were grazing on the open grasslands.
They made their way cautiously past me when they saw me coming.
The cache was an easy find near the navigational beacon that adorns this wind and wave swept point [^]

With the logbook signed and cache re-hid, there was just one last thing I needed to do...

Some feral, small brained person had decorated the lighthouse with obscene graffiti [:(!]
But "If" also has a few cans of spray paint in the geomobile Razz
Primarily for giving geocaches a bit of camo !!
In this case one of the tins of an earthy tone came in handy to hide the pointless 'tagging' Big Grin

[red]Summertime in Oz Trip[/red]

Yess! What a beautiful sunset! It took us longer than expected to get out to here, from camp Morgan's Landing. It took us a bit of effort at Phantom Cove. The Blue Desert Drive made it out to here, all the way, through the dunes in Lincoln National Park, as well as the track out here! No dramas! Straight onto the granite rocks. It is those rocks, which preserve this peninsula from erosion. If there wasn't that underlying granite ranges, the whole Eyre peninsula wouls have been gone, such a the lands of the Great Australian Bight - all washed away! Enjoyed the sunset and sad, we need to leave tomorrow.... TFTCM, well appreciated!

With an interesting road to get here, we made this one our second cache for our day of exploration of the Coffin Bay Peninsula tracks.
Quick, easy find. No swaps. It was interesting to see that this was another in Gazzan’s 4WD series. We had found a similar ‘Breakaways’ ID card in the Bendleby Ranges almost exactly 12 months ago. Thanks for bringing us here Gazzan1. Cheers.

"Are We There Yet!", a couple of good friends and l were camping nearby at Morgans Landing and had planned to visit this fantastic spot. Great location for a cache with a very curious welcoming committee of 3 large Emus that came within 20 metres of us. The spring weather was ideal! Thanks for the cache gazzan1.

#2000 WOO HOO our 2000th made even more special as it was a combined milestone with DazzPete who reached their 1500th find at this location Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin. Found on day 4 of our Eyre Escape. GeoD had preselected this cache as our possible milestone cache a few months ago, it seemed to be right up our alley with the remote 4WDing. After quite a bit of overnight rain the weather cleared enough for us to tackle it today so we were full steam ahead. Had a bit of fun driving up 7 mile beach as the tide was coming in, we breathed a collective sigh of relief when the track turned inland again Wink. The area was totally different to what we expected and the drive longer but we had a beaut day nevertheless. Timed our visit to GZ to perfection as we could see the front bearing down on us but we still had time to take photos before we had to retreat to the vehicles. Did some touring of the area waiting for the tide to start retreating again. TNLN our thanks to gazzan1 for the adventure [^] and a big CONGRATULATIONS to DazzPete on reaching 1500Big Grin

Note: as previous log states there are some holes in cache container & despite the ziplock bag holding the notebook being ripped, the notebook & contents were dry. We were carrying a spare ziplock bag so replaced that.

28-Sep-11
Wohoo 1500th our joint milestone with skullracing as they hit 2000. We had picked this remote cache to be our 1500th back in the planning stages of our Eyre Escape 2011 trip.

As previous loans have said the container is in a poor state but skullracing replaced the log bag so it should be right for a little longer but the next finder might want to bring a new container.

We rescued Erik the TB
Left our Eyre Escape 2011 Pathtag

Some rodents have nibbled holes in the container, but it is still there. A new container would be a good idea.

Ouch! Take heed people. The rocks here have sharp edges!

Great tracks and fun on the way to this cache and while I was searching I heard the sounds of my friend's cars leaving! This cache is a long, long way from home and I was going to find it regardless but never fear they were not leaving just moving to a more photogenic spot.
